Google
The coffee is exceptional—rich, flavorful, and perfectly brewed every time. I also highly recommend the lox; it's fresh and delicious, making for a great light bite to pair with your drink. The only downside is that parking is limited, but it's definitely worth the effort to find a spot. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a perfect spot for coffee lovers.

I've never been much of a coffee bar person, but this place could change my mind. On a random drive after church I found myself on a dusty, storm ravaged street within close view of the mighty French Broad River. I was hungry and in need of a good cup of coffee. There, amid the dusty boarded up buildings was this clean, freshly painted jewel of a cafe! As I admired the design atop my beverage I realized that the purpose of the foam is more than decorative. It serves as an insulating layer on top of your drink to keep it at the ideal temperature. And the coffee was good. As was my breakfast wrap. Sausage, egg, and cheese, with tomatoes and baby spinach, spicy aoili in a spinach wrap. Delicious. Neighbor had what looked like a cranberry orange muffin. It really looked tasty. They have lots of muffins, bagels, wraps, etc, to satisfy breakfast and lunch appetites. And 🐕 🐕 🐕 are welcome. RAD STRONG!

Google
The sandwiches are absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is amazing, and the people/service are so kind. Highly recommended!

Google
One of the best breakfast bagels I’ve ever had! The Joey subed with a veggie sausage on an everything bagel is a work of art. The smoked Gouda combined with the pesto only elevates the egg and sausage combo further. A must for any vegetarian!

Trix Mensah

Google
I read all the reviews online and decided to get the brekkie wrap. It was as delicious as everyone said! The wrap and a cup of cappuccino was just about 12bucks, which is a great deal. I saved the second wrap for lunch. They have other options with bagels and a vegan selection as well. Great spot, with indoor and outdoor sitting space. Went by on a Saturday morning and it was packed by 9.30am but I still got an indoor seat. And the service was super fast. Highly recommend.

Google
The coffee was great! We got a caramel breve and an iced honey lavender latte. The flavor was great. Definitely worth a try. We got a spinach breakfast wrap and a breakfast bagel. Both were full of flavor and delicious! Great place and customer service!

Google
I travel all around and this coffee spot spoke to me! The people inside are very awesome and friendly. They helped me get my order as I like to branch out to different drinks and food. They were accommodating and staff seemed happy! Food came out great I got the Joey bagel. The nitro brew coffee was great as well. For both was around $13. There is indoor and outdoor seating (plenty of outdoor seating). The facility was clean and well taken care of. I would say this could probably be the best spot in Asheville for some coffee and breakfast. Great for people doing meetings, working remote, talking with friends, etc.. Parking can be tough at times.

Google
Just visited this place and found this place quite problematic. For starters, my coffee was extremely watery but I let that slide. My partner ordered an iced oat latte. It tasted like oil and honestly like drinking plain soy milk. She tried to rectify the issue by spending more money on an added shot and flavoring. The drink was even worse. I went up and kindly asked for a refund. The cashier who I assume is the manager offered to start the drink over. I sensed he was off when we entered but offered to explore that with my partner. Since they’d be using the same ingredients we decided to opt for the refund. Instead of discreetly issuing a refund, the cashier loudly yells that he has gone ahead and issued a refund for the coffee and additions as to shame my partner in front of customers. The drink was honestly disgusting. Secondly, the Mexican “Coke” with espresso and sugar is problematic as it is named the Rick James. Not only is that gross stereotyping and racial profiling, observing that compounded an already awkward situation. Instead of hostility, simply take the feedback and move forward. Since I don't have a refund receipt I’ll be looking to confirm my refund in the next day or so.

Yelp
Bagels were fire and staff was so kind. Good amount of seating. By far my favorite part was the board that changed messages that were specific to people in the restaurant. A sweet detail of customer relations that kept us laughing. Feels like a very communal Asheville spot. Also they have a parking lot which is a huge W haha. We'll be back the next time we're in town!

Yelp
While exploring the River and Arts district of Asheville, I definitely recommend making a stop at Ultra Coffeebar for a quick break and caffeination. The menu has the full line of caffeinated beverages that you can need. I decided to try the shakerato, adding the honey lavender syrup for the sweet floral touch, and it was the perfect after adding some milk. I love how there are some local goods and art available for sale inside the shop, as well that was easy to browse while waiting for my coffee. It is definitely the ULTRA coffee shop for the River Arts District!

Allison M.

Yelp
Cutest spot with some of the most fun workers. Live the location (minus the parking). Great assortment of pastries and delicious hearty breakfast Sammy's. Sweet little spot with some local art and jewelry for sale. Seating inside and out. Love the nitro coffee. Expensive but delicious. The lemon bar was surprisingly not sticky and rather fluffy but I loved it.

Madison P.

Yelp
Great place for coffee and breakfast! The lox bagel and matcha latte I had really hit the spot. Baristas are friendly, and service was fast even on a Saturday morning!

Drew S.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee, great service, and really cool spot to sit and relax. Great prices, too!

Allison D.

Yelp
I try to avoid coffee shops that only serve in takeaway cups--bad for forests, bad for our carbon emissions, bad for landfills. Why no mugs? How hard are mugs and tea cups with saucers? Other local coffee shops manage that kind of thing just fine.

Katherine R.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and tea drinks, and lots of good food items to choose from. Prices are reasonable, service was friendly, which I appreciated so much after three days in Asheville where some of the hipster service people will try to make you feel small. Try the breakfast wrap. Perfect.

Josie S.

Yelp
One of the highlights of my visit was the fresh light iced chai that I ordered. It was the perfect balance of flavors, with just the right amount of sweetness and a lovely hint of spices. The barista's expert craftsmanship shone through, as every sip was a burst of refreshment and indulgence. The drink was beautifully presented, with delicate frothy swirls and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top, truly a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. Now, let's talk about the panini I had alongside my chai. It was a delightful culinary creation, crafted with a combination of the most delicious ingredients and spreads. The moment I took my first bite, I was greeted with a delightful symphony of flavors and textures. The bread was perfectly toasted, providing a satisfying crunch, while the fillings were generous and bursting with freshness. The spreads added an extra layer of deliciousness, complementing the panini's overall taste profile. It was evident that the ingredients were carefully selected and combined to create a harmonious and scrumptious experience. The staff was also a highlight of my experience. Great job, I would love to visit again!

Yelp
Ultra Coffeebar was one of our favorite finds while in Asheville. We were on the hunt for a good coffeehouse and Google maps first led us to a local Starbucks but we prefer to try small, local coffee shops and this was a gem! We came back 2 days in a row Their nitro cold brew was on point, and available on tap. You can ask them to leave a little space in your cup so you can add creamer or syrups. This is definitely worth trying. You can't go wrong with the lattes and other hot coffee but that cold brew is unbelievable! Their bagels are also top notch, freshly baked and delicious. They have several flavors of cream cheese and each one was delicious. The vibe is awesome, there's good wifi and a few tables for you to sit and work/study if you'd like. The bathrooms were clean and the crowd was cool. We recommend ultra coffeebar to friends who are local and they absolutely loved it. This will be a "go to" on our next trip.

Sam R.

Yelp
A little hard to find if you're following google from certain areas of Asheville (Lots of construction happening around the place). It's small and you have to hit it right in terms of timing or you'll not find a place to park (how frustrating!) the peanut butter "balls" are literally rave-worthy and MUST be tried. Our son gushed so much, we had to go back two days in a row and find a recipe of our own to try to make these at home. The guys at the register are super friendly and helpful - and they're more than happy to offer suggestions if you need some. But - standard coffee is top notch and we have no doubt the locals are frequenting this place for a reason :)

Rick L.

Yelp
UltraCofee is a great place to refuel while wandering around the River Arts District in Asheville. They've got lots for vegetarians and there are gluten-free options as well at this small, order-at-the-counter spot. I had the Fig and Brie and Ciabatto which was a great combination of flavors. It came with a bag of chips (no other options or choices for sides, at least none offered.) My wife was excited for a gluten-free bagel but they were out by the time we got there, so she ended up with the Ultraman salad wrap which she thought was good. Somehow we missed them calling our name while we were waiting in the eating area so our food sat there for a while before we realized it was taking a while and came looking for it. They have a vegan lunch menu with three options, a vegan breakfast menu with 5 options and plenty of choices if you also eat dairy. The food did the job for us during a short break between wandering in and out of the nearby art galleries...it's a local, not-so-crowded spot so felt comfortable enough, though we did feel a little rushed through the ordering process.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Solid food, good coffee. Cheese biscuit was great. Easy in/out (no wait when we went). Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.

Jason D.

Yelp
Funky joint in the Arts District with a phenomenal coffee and baked goods menu. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and loved the vibe.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Great little spot we always visit when in town. Nice drinks and delicious vegan options

S H.

Yelp
Hi really like this restaurant they have a good selection of vegan options and delicious vegan baked goods

Gabriella K.

Yelp
Great coffee. Quick service. Loved the location. Very convenient. Staff was friendly. Seating is limited. Dogs allowed inside.

Swetha S.

Yelp
Coffee - amazing! Service - amazing! Space and parking area - amazing! I'm very picky about coffee and this place exceeded all my expectations. I had a cortado with oat milk and husband had a cappuccino. Both were hot with the perfect level of caffeine. They have a small working area with free wifi and charging ports and ample parking area as well. A good quiet ambiance for working as well. Definitely stopping here for coffee when am in Asheville next!

Jazmin G.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop! they have pretty crystal jewelry inside and the Joey sandwich is delicious! The food was super good and the cashier (he had on cool red heart glasses) was super nice and accommodating! visiting from Florida and this is a cute find!!!

Sophia N.

Yelp
I came here twice and I have yet to be disappointed! The lunch sandwiches are my favorite and the Odyssey had yummy bread and a filling that wasn't too salty. The coffee was good too and had that chocolate aftertaste that I really enjoy. The wifi doesn't reach outside so not ideal for doing work but it works well inside.

Anne W.

Yelp
We stopped in this cute little coffee bar while visiting the art scene in the River Arts District in Ashville! We loved the vibe here! Super surprised by all the vegan bakery options. We tried a vegan cookie and it was delicious! The coffee was awesome too. Lots of art and jewelry displayed and for sale in this little shop. The outside patio is very nice as well. I would love to go back when I'm in Ashville!

Avery S.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop tucked away in the river district. I got the vanilla latte and it was superb! The bagels are fresh and staff is friendly!

Stephanie J.

Yelp
The bagels here are soooo good. I ordered a chai tea with the sunrise bagel and my husband ordered a latte with the joey bagel. They were all great selections. Ultra Coffeebar is a must visit.

Mel B.

Yelp
The coffee was great! We got a caramel breve and an iced honey lavender latte. The flavor was great. Definitely worth a try. We got a spinach breakfast wrap and a breakfast bagel. Both were full of flavor and delicious! Great place and customer service!

Matthew H.

Yelp
We wanted something less mainstream than the normal brunches in Asheville. So we came here for a quick coffee and breakfast before walking at the nearby park. Great food and great coffee. The wait was minimal on this Saturday morning.

Alicia H.

Yelp
We were greeted by friendly staff upon walking into the shop and they were quick to take our order and get us our lattes. It is a cute little place with plenty of seating in the next room along with lots of outdoor seating. We would love to come here again when we aren't in a rush. We ordered lattes and they were delicious! A great experience all around thank you so much!

Ruth D.

Yelp
As a tourist, I liked how easy it was to find parking and figure out Ultra's order-here/grab-there flow. Based on that welcoming atmosphere and that there was a line out the door, but still seating inside and out (score!) the coffee was amazing. The WiFi was easy to connect to and allowed my husband to take care of some necessary business. All that gives it a five star rating as a coffee shop. I ordered the nitro, which was silken and had a perfect frothy top. My husband ordered an iced chai, which was too sweet to my tastes, but he liked it. We each ordered a bagel sandwich. I got the lox without tomato or onions. It was very salty. Maybe the freshness of the vegetables would have cut down on the saltiness. The coffeehouse has signs limiting you to an hour at the inside tables, so don't expect to come here for a long work day.

Adam G.

Yelp
This gem of a coffee shop and cafe is a bit off the beaten path, but it was perfect for a quick breakfast! They have some unique selections. I tried an everything bagel with garlic & herb cream cheese and a fig and oat bar. Both were amazing! The bagel somehow managed to taste both toasted and steamed. The cream cheese was delicious, and the fig and oat bar was the perfect amount of savory. Highly recommend!

Jessica D.

Yelp
Vibey little spot. Grabbed a Sunrise Bagel to go which turned out to be very flavorful and delicious with zero mess. Poked my head around the corner to see a small room full of tables and many typing away on their laptops. Jewelry from local artists (assuming) were perched along the windowsill for easy window shopping (no pun intended). I was inches away from buying a beautiful black pendant gold necklace.

Leigh W.

Yelp
Ultra was located right down the street from our Air BnB and it became our go-to for morning coffee runs before exploring the area. The staff is super personable and friendly. Always patient and accommodating to their customer's requests. Definitely give the peanut butter energy ball a go. It's delicious, sweet and perfect consistency made it a fave.

Cara E.

Yelp
We visited Ultra on our trip to Asheville to grab coffee before walking along the river. It's a really cute spot - one of those places that is very photo-worthy. We weren't looking to get coffee originally, just a place to park and walk along the river, but we saw the building from afar and had to go check it out. Plus, when is coffee ever a bad idea? The drinks we ordered were delicious. They also offered food that we didn't try. I had a chai latte and my husband had a vanilla latte, and we loved both. I loved that they had outdoor and indoor seating! I also appreciated how they were handling covid restrictions. The location is great, too: it's located next to some cute shops that were fun to explore after finishing our drinks. I'd highly recommend checking out Ultra if you're in the area.

Alistair L.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible food, service, and atmosphere. I'm very picky about my coffee shops, and Ultra Coffeebar does not disappoint! The coffee, a lavender honey latte, is a perfect mix of delightfully sweet and strong. The sandwich, a Joey Bagel with an added slice of tomato, was everything I could have ever dreamt of in a breakfast sandwich. With high quality pesto and balsamic notes, the fresh ingredients shine in this dish. Next time you're in the market for a munch, stop by Ultra Coffeebar for one of these delicious bites!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Located in the River Arts District, this is a great coffee bar to chill, eat and enjoy. There were about 5 people ahead of me but the staff got the orders in quickly. I got the seasonal latte (caramel cardamom) with oat milk, my boyfriend got a drip coffee and we ate a Joey bagel sandwich and fig & Brie sandwich. The coffee and food were both delicious and filling. There was plenty of outside seating and I was able to have my dog with me which was a huge plus!

Eric B.

Yelp
This joint does robust business. It's on a busy corner with narrow streets. It has a parking lot but I wouldn't bother. There's a big parking lot cattywompus across the street. So the coffee... I had a 4-shot 12 oz Breve. It was rich with sweet undertones and great texture. Companion had 3-shot 16 oz whole milk latte. It was proclaimed very tasty. They also have cafe menu and pastry case. The coconut macaroons looked tempting. There is both inside and outdoor seating. We took advantage of the outside seating given it was nice lit and reportedly snowing back home! When you're traveling seek out the local joints... you'll be glad you did.

Abby R.

Yelp
Cute little shop. Had authentic hot chocolate which was good however, my Nitro came with ice (fellow barista here) which defeats the purpose of ordering a nitro. When you put ice over cold brew that is infused with nitrogen, it defuses it and turns it black (aka a reg. Cold brew).

Candi M.

Yelp
Couldn't believe how crowded this was at 10:45am on a Monday BUT the employees navigated the line quickly & efficiently. We sat at the outdoor patio on a a beautiful fall day. Both of us had lattes which use Durham roasted Counter Culture coffee. We also had bagel sandwiches. My husband just had the basic sausage, egg, & cheese on a plain bagel. My Joey, which was basil pesto, smoked Gouda, a delicious sausage patty, & what I call sheet pan scrambled square egg on an everything bagel, was glorious. I recommend this joint for both coffee and breakfast. They also have lunch sandwiches & wraps that looked delightful as well!

Marli M.

Yelp
A great spot for coffee and lunch! We had the Thunderbird sandwich and it was delicious! Came with a bag of chips which was a nice surprise. My husband got an iced vanilla latte and I got an iced honey lavender latte, both were very very good and were a great size for the price. We got all that foe $20, talk about a score!!! There was ample seating inside and outside and actual free parking. Also loved how eco-friendly it was!!

Mali C.

Yelp
This cute riverside spot has become one of my go to coffee shops for a quick bite. Lots of seating, great coffee, and very tasty sandwiches. Most of the time my order is the Joey and a dirty chai. But you can't go wrong with the breaky wrap or any of their veggie options it's all great. The baked goods are fresh and they have lots of delicious options. I recommend this place if you morning is in need of a quick coffee and sandwich or baked good.

Joy X.

Yelp
I know why this place is so popular! They have a lot of Vegan food selections and nibbles. I got a Coconut Macaroon with a chocolate bottom coating & GF! My friends got food, which was less than $10! I got an Iced Latte w/Cinnamon + Vanilla syrup. I double checked beforehand it wouldn't be too sweet like Starbs and they reassured me and I asked for half the syrup. I got the largest size and let's just say, didn't regret it especially since it really hit the spot on a hot afternoon. Parking is small, so I just had my parents drop me off as I met up with my friends. The inside can be tight especially when putting your order in & the line went out the door during a lunch rush. The most ideal spot to enjoy your coffee is outside where they have lots of seats and shade from trees!

John M.

Yelp
Found this place on our last trip to Asheville and sorry I never stopped before!! Wonderful service with indoor and our door seating. I only had black coffee to drink so I have no comments on the coffee or tea drinks. Two trips...a chocolate chocolate chip muffin and a lox everything beagle ....awesome!

Connie W.

Yelp
The coffee was decent! It wasn't mixed very well at first (even after swirling it around a couple of times), so I had to go in and mix it with a utensil. After mixing it, the cinnamon vanilla flavor definitely came through with the perfect amount of sweetness. The atmosphere is pretty hipster and cute, but they have a one hour limit on using tables, so it probably wouldn't be the best place to do a lot of work. Definitely want to come back and try their bagels/other breakfast foods at some point!

Johnny B.

Yelp
I visit A'ville frequently, every morning working remote in a coffee shop. Ultra came highly recommended. it was a nice visit but slightly disappointing. very busy which is fine but not enough drip black coffee made to fill my cup. Said would make more and to come up in a few to top it off. I did that and it was still not made. breakfast wrap just average, with egg tasting kind of pre fab. the space is nice, although a bit sterile, and the employees friendly. Glad I visited but prefer other shops I have been to in Ashville. definitely worth a visit though.

Melinda R.

Yelp
Nitro iced coffee w vanilla. Everything bagel with jalapeño cream. Very good. I've not had a good bagel since moving from NYC to Florida. The bagel is definitely not quite as good as nyc (I used to live close to the best bagels in the city) but it was still good, a little on the chewy side. Jalapeño cream cheese wasn't spicy and had a mild flavor but paired wonderful with an everything bagel.

Jay N.

Yelp
My husband and I ended up here because another local cafe didn't serve breakfast until 9 (sigh) but I'm so happy we ended up trying this place instead! We got a couple classic breakfast sandwiches that were yummy. My husband's mocha was the best he ever had! My cold brew was also tasty! Will definitely return when we visit Asheville again.

Leslie W.

Yelp
So good that I forgot to take any photos. Whoops! We went to Ultra on my last morning in Asheville. Since it was Memorial Day (and a Monday), we wanted to find someplace that would be open on a holiday and maybe off the tourists' radar. I found Ultra with Yelp's help and was so happy I did. This cool Coffeebar is in the hip, River Arts District near the greenway and a ton of galleries, shops, etc. Area is very walkable but parking can be tricky - they have a small lot but mostly it's on street. We found parking and got into the sizable line that was moving fairly fast. We grabbed a menu and also perused the pastry counter. They have a nice selection of bakery items including vegan options for muffins, power balls, and even an oatmeal pie. They serve breakfast and lunch all day. It was about 10 am when we arrived and I needed carbs to sustain my drive home. I went with the Viva la Vegan bagel sandwich with a large diced chai (they have almond and oat milk for an uncharge) and my friend had the Vegan Rad bagel sandwich and an iced coffee. I also ordered a peanut butter power ball for the road after a small child and her father standing behind me in line gave it rave reviews (which were spot on). The pb power ball was large and phenomenal! My sandwich was a toasted everything bagel with grilled tofu egg, vegan cream cheese, and tempeh bacon. My friend's was also an everything bagel with tempeh bacon, vegan cream cheese, arugula, cucumber, and balsamic. We both liked our choices although I wish I'd had my bagel toasted darker like she did as it was a bit floppy. The meal with tip came to $30 which isn't a cheap breakfast but not bad for Asheville. I love that Ultra has a nosh and drink for everyone. It's a great find to stop in with your friends for brunch, your family anytime, or solo to work or get carry out.

Jackie D.

Yelp
Yummy food. Great location in the River Arts District. Friendly staff. I have been at least a dozen times, and just tried the fig & brie sandwich- it was delicious! They also have a great cup of coffee.

Lila N.

Yelp
Vegan buffalo wrap so yummy. The bake goods are fantastic. The vegan cookies are a must

LoveLive L.

Yelp
We went here for lunch around 1. It wasn't super busy, and our food came pretty fast. I got the Ella, which was delicious. I would recommend it. There was a cute indoor area, and they also had outdoor seating. The chai tea cookie was good too.

Ashley L.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee and breakfast places in the River Arts District. Always have to stop when I'm Asheville. They have local vendors selling things set up inside too. Parking lot is small and right but worth the stop! Brekkie wrap with vanilla-cinnamon latte was delish.

Crunchy K.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service and awesome little spot. Pro tip: order ahead and skip the line, especially on weekend mornings!
