Google
We have tried a few shaved ice places on the island and this is easily the best one! There is plenty of flavors to choose from and they also have something called snow cap which is a condensed sweeten milk for an additional $1. I added this to my grape/ orange ice and it was good. My son got the cotton candy and it tastes just like it. My wife got the mango coconut and she said it was good as well. The only issue is the long lines, this is worth it as they do not skimp on anything. We got the keiki (kids) which was plenty for each of us. This is a must go place if you have about an hour to kill. From the photos you will see from where it was taken it was about 35 minutes of a wait. Don't pass this place up just cause the lines are long. The parking is terrible but get past that and you will enjoy.

Google
Came here on a nice hot day after the farmers market nearby. There is a line since it is popular but well worth the wait. We got the flavors from top 9 that are supposed to be locally sourced. We got the Mango, guava and passion fruit with hazelnut ice cream. It was great

Google
Friendly service, but syrup taste was underwhelming We visited Ululani’s Shave Ice at 61 S Kihei Rd during our trip to Maui. One thing I truly appreciated was the excellent customer service — the cashier kindly honored my 10-year-old coupon and gave us a free shave ice with the purchase of the highest-priced one. That gesture really stood out and deserves recognition. As for the shave ice itself, the texture was great, and it was nicely prepared. However, I personally found the syrup to be average in taste. It had a strong sweetness that felt more like glucose or sucrose, possibly cane-sugar derived, but it left a bit of an artificial or powdery aftertaste — almost like Splenda or similar sweetener. It just didn’t hit the mark for me flavor-wise. That said, I know many people love Ululani’s, and the service and location are still a big plus. It might come down to personal preference when it comes to sweetness and flavor.

Google
Ululani’s was the best shaved ice we’ve ever eaten! They use really fruit purees to make their syrups, so the flavors are bright and tasty. The snow was so soft, it literally was snow! This is a Must Stop for anyone who loves a good shaved ice!

Christian

Google
Very long line, we waited nearly an hour to get our hands on shaved ice. It’s good for the kids but pretty sweet for adults especially when you add the condensed milk and/or ice cream. Wife loved the une ice cream. The owner was nice enough and to thank each every one of us for our patience in waiting. Never witnessed that kind of kindness from an establishment that’s busy. 9/10

Lucy

Google
Long line but delicious shaved ice. Not a huge shaved ice fan but you can taste the difference in their house-made, real-fruit syrups. They also follow through with their guarantee to give you more syrup if your shaved ice did not get enough syrup soaked in at the bottom. Saw it happen for another customer.

Google
What a treat. Whole family loved it, obviously. Shave ice was great. Get the small size but do ice cream and the coconut condensed milk!! All sorts of fun and unique flavors to try. The owner was actually there when we went and he was chatting with everyone in line. You can tell his passion for serving everyone and wanting to give the best experience and shave ice. He was such a pleasure to meet. Made the experience very memorable.

Zane Zbacnik

Google
I see why this is the most popular shaved ice. Other places seem the same but this one the ice is very smooth and if you have any complaints they will make sure you have the best experience. Was a long line when we went.

Yelp
right next to the beach was great! The best shave I've ever eaten. slight mixup on the order but still tasted amazing.

Yelp
A shave ice is always on my radar so when I saw Ululani's just down the road from our lodge, I had to have some before lunchtime. Going with the keiki size with lychee, coconut and pineapple, a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream and cream snow cap for the win! This shave ice here is unparalleled to others I have had. The ice is so light and fluffy it's unbelievable! There is nice outside seating that is shared with the bake shop and farmers market. Parking can be tight so just go around the side of the market. The line can be long because there is one window to order and two for pickup. You have to try this at least once!

Yelp
Food quality: best shaved ice we got to try during our visit! Service: staff is friendly and patient Atmosphere: outdoor shared space Notes: I absolutely loved the coconut with passion fruit fresh mochi! We came here 2x and tried 3 other shaved ice stores.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious shave ice! The flavors are rich and tasty. Nice staff, efficient ordering and pick up. I would go back again and again but unfortunately you will have to plan for a long wait it took us 55 minutes (around 5 pm during busy December) in line to collect our shave ice. I get it as it's a popular spot but the line waiting with other people and anxious kids can be tedious. Maybe bring your head phones.

Yelp
The premier place for a shave ice on a hot afternoon in Maui. Be prepared for a bit of a wait as this place is definitely not a hidden gem and they do not rush their process. We chose pineapple, coconut, and guava this time with vanilla ice cream and passion fruit mochi. A great combo all around, the guava blew my mind for how flavorful it was and the ice cream is always a must for my to bring that creamy taste. The mochi was fresh and had a perfect texture but the flavor wasn't too strong. A normal size is perfect for sharing with two and there is lots of bench seating out front
google avatar

Frank J.

Yelp
Amazing shaved ice. Guava and mango flavor were both amazing. There is a bit of a wait (approx 30 minutes) because this is a popular location but it was worth the wait. Highly recommend

Yelp
ICE ICE baby Before heading to the airport, we stopped at this location to satisfy our shave ice cravings. NOTES 1. Ample parking available in the front or rear of the building. 2. Covered seating area available. 3. They take card! 4. There is signage on the wall about the ordering process, as well as flavors and ice cream that are available. 5. Kama'aina discount available. Make sure to have your Hawaii ID handy. We chose a large size with vanilla ice cream placed on the bottom of the cup) along with the "Hawaiian Rainbow" of flavors (strawberry, pineapple, vanilla). We enjoyed the shave ice very much! We noticed the consistency of the ice was more like fresh snowand compact, which I thought different yet very original. SERVICE The employees greet the customers and serve the shave ice with the warmest ALOHA. BOTTOM LINE A veritable cold treat! Recommended.
google avatar

LeeAnn B.

Yelp
Delicious shave ice and a ton of flavor options! I went with a basic cherry, but they have so many to choose from. Even the small size is giant and you definitely get your money's worth compared to some other shave ice places around. The line was very long but moved quickly. My only qualm is that the tables and floors out on the patio were very dirty and the napkin tin was empty so we weren't able to even try to wipe them down ourselves.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
Summary reviews of this place speak for itself. Soooo good and likely the best shave ice on the island. I wish the line would be a tiny bit shorter but this place is (had to get a couple of bites in before taking a picture it was soo good).
google avatar

Crystal B.

Yelp
Always so delicious! Each order you can choose up to 3 flavors we ordered: - green apple + coconut + blue Hawaii - lychee + guava + passion fruit Both we added fresh mochi My favorite flavor out of both is lychee & coconut & guava. I would get those three flavors again. The line was slightly long and took a while but what can you say? People waiting in line for a long time still willing to get it means it's good. It was very good! While someone waits in line - you can also visit the abc store next door and the Maui farmers market. So totally worth hanging around here! They have water available for their customers and I was pleasantly surprised that it was iced cold water!! Perfect while waiting in line in heat!

Yelp
The best shave ice of my life! I've only been to Maui and Oahu (6 times) but have concluded Ululani's ice texture is to die for So many flavours and fun combos! The rotating mochi flavours ya-UM! Love the free Li Hing Mui powder Service is friendly. They like asking where you're visiting from! The times we went we could never find parking and had to park at the beach. Chickens to watch while you wait! Haha.
google avatar

Ellena K.

Yelp
I'm not a shaved ice expert but this was probably the best I've ever had! We stopped by after a day at the harbor, found parking at the farmers market next door. It was busy around lunch time but worth the wait. The shaved ice came out fast. There was a huge selection of flavors, but we decided on passion fruit , tigers blood, and guava with snow cap and ice cream. You must try the macadamia nut ice cream also, it was amazing! It was so nice to sit on the benches and listen to the ocean across the road.
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Great shaved ice! Came here after a recommendation from a friend; the texture doesn't compare to any of the other shaved ices I've ever had. We got the POG and rainbow with mochi on top, both were amazing. Highly recommend

Yelp
My wife's fav shaved ice in Kihei. Not my priority and haven't tried it before. We went early right after opening on a week day and it was already busy. Particularly with large family groups! But we got in line during a lull. They have a friendly young order taker and big staff behind but wait times can be a bit long. As my wife went to get hers, they were throwing it out!!! She asked and it was because they didn't want to serve it with melted ice cream on the bottom! So they care about their quality and quickly made her replacement. Awesome macnut ice cream and shave ice flavors great without being too sweet like the cheap joints that use high sugared inexpensive syrup around here! Go early and/or pack your patience with your sunscreen and towel.

Yelp
Perfect time to get shave ice on hot sunny day in maui. When we arrived, there's a line already. Limited parking fyi. We waited in line for a good 20min probably. They also have a store that sells their merchandise like tshirt, stickers etc We order: Keiki size - azuki redbean base, pina colada, thai tea and guava and sweet condensed milk and plain mochi Keiki size - vanilla ice cream base, blood tiger, mango , strawberry milk, and plain mochi. There's an option for passion fruit mochi. There's a water if you are thirsty while waiting. Then you wait another 20min before you get your shaved ice. They will call your name. So we find a shaded picnic bench to seat and have the roosters entertained us. The overall taste was just ok. We were hoping for stronger flavors. The azuki bean was only 1 table spoon size for $1.25? 6 pieces of mochi for $1.25 A drizzle of condensed milk $1.00 The whole order for our 2 keiki was $11 each roughly. That was kinda pricy for shaved ice.

Yelp
This is definitely the BEST shave I've I have ever experienced. The ice is so fine and the syrup goes to the bottom and the flavors are so fresh and I love the variety and the local ones too! Definitely come back! They are all so sweet and the place is nice to eat with the beach next door
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Ok still hands down the best shave ice anywhere. Still as packed as ever but it is so so worth the wait. Flavors still hit and that ice consistency is A1. They also had some stuff I haven't seen at other locations like an ube drizzle (must get) and even different mochi flavors. Forever the best and you have to come here!
google avatar

Tommy T.

Yelp
Had to get some shaved ice while in Maui so this spot is our go to. There are a ton of options and they use real puree for their syrups so that's plus! The top 9 flavors are really good so you can't really go wrong. You can get up to 3 on one. There is a menu with instructions on how to order and it's pretty much all smiles from there. Really friendly staff and always delicious! FYI - There is also a few locations in CA and one's in Stockton.
google avatar

Ankit S.

Yelp
They claim to be the best shaved ice in Maui, I tend to agree. First of all this place is busy, we reached here at 3:30pm on a Saturday, I was in the line till 4pm just to order. It took me another 30 mins to get my order so it does take around an hour to get the shaved ice. There was place to sit outside but it was mostly full. Now coming to the taste, the shaved ice is super creamy and made with patience. The employees really really care about the experience telling everyone to come back for extra syrup if they needed more. I saw them pore extra holes in the shaved ice that only had coconut since that syrup is thicker. Most places don't even care. The taste was really good and all the poking got the syrup to each and every nook of the shaved ice. The taste was really good and I will give this establishment a 5/5.
google avatar

Norah H.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best shave ice I've ever had. Not sure how they do it but their shave ice is creamy. So good! We tried 3 other shave ice on the island and they don't compare to Ululani's. I have only ordered the Coconut Lover: Coconut, tiger's blood and pina colada. So good, I refuse to order anything else. Hubby loves his cherry, root beer and banana. Yumm! combination.
google avatar

Natalia E.

Yelp
The best shaved ice I've ever had! This location is extremely busy so there was a bit of a line and then a wait after ordering. Definitely worth the wait! I got mango pineapple raspberry with condensed milk on top. The ice is shaved sooooo smooth and softly it melts in your mouth. Definitely a must try when on the island. They also have soo many flavor options, it makes it so hard to decide. You basically order at a window and then there's a few tables outside, more of a grab and go situation.
google avatar

Thoran T.

Yelp
I love this place. I mean LOVE it. On a 10 day trip we went three times. That's a lot I know, but the shaved ice is so good. They have a line every day and you end up having to wait. It's worth it and somehow a spot to sit always opens when your order gets called. When we placed our final order the nice lady at the register said "haven't you all been here three times this week?". Caught us! We will be back. Someday!
google avatar

Amelia R.

Yelp
We have visited Ululani's Hawaiian shave I've many times during our trips to Hawaii and it is always our favorite shave ice location. The syrups are always fresh and delicious! I like the real fruit options, but they do have more artificial colored options. I always get a snow cap and the mochi! They have several mochi flavors including passion fruit, original and cotton candy! I had the passion fruit and it was amazing! Two original size with all the fixings will run you 20-25 including tax. There is plenty of parking and several picnic tables for seating. Definitely casual post beach day ambiance. Service was nice and quick and they offered more syrup if you like more!
google avatar

Safia S.

Yelp
There is a reason this place is so highly rated! It has really original (and also more usual) flavors. You can add up to 3 flavors and different toppings. I really liked my coconut, hibiscus and pineapple shaved ice!
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
The best shaved ice!! Absolutely worth the long wait. We got the strawberry milk, pineapple, and coconut flavors and the best ones were definitely strawberry milk and pineapple. The coconut was too subtle for my taste. The snow cap on top (extra charge) also added the perfect amount of extra sweetness. The ice texture here is amazing -- it's so creamy and smooth, almost like sorbet. Friendly staff too. Lots of outdoor seating (picnic bench style) which gets crowded fast since there are always a ton of people, but it's not too hard to snag a seat. Highly recommend for a light sweet treat!
google avatar

Sherri W.

Yelp
On a Sun. Around 12:40pm the line was very short, so waiting is at a minimal. I usually like getting the pre-selected options to make things more efficient, so I got the Sunset Beach (Passionfruit Orange, Mango & Guava) then added a creamy component( Macadamia Nut Ice Cream) to elevate this shaved ice experience. Like most people have stated before, I agree that Ululani has a super fine shaved ice that makes it texturally very smooth & very satisfying. It is definitely a place to stop by. There are not enough vacation days to enjoy the vast amount of varieties you can choose from, but I will try!
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
This is my favorite shave ice place on Maui. Unfortunately their Pa'ia and Lahaina shops are now closed so this is the main one to go to. I got the Coconut Lovers: coconut, tiger's blood and pina colada with toasted coconut on top. All my favorite flavors. The kids size is huge and big enough for me. The line was a bit long and it took awhile to get my shave ice but its worth it.
google avatar

Victor D.

Yelp
When doing research, people always talk about this place for shave ice. I too am one of those people. It easily had the best shave ice on the island. The ice texture is so fine and granular that at some points I felt like I was eating ice cream. I got the Haleakala and my favorite part of that was the snow cap. That part felt extra creamy and rich; it tasted like a fluffy ice cream. We also added mochi and unlike some other other mochis you add in froyo, this one was very soft, delicate, and it was not tough at all. It really felt like some premium mochi.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Ululani Shave Ice was delicious and the service was fast! We got coconut, pineapple, and watermelon, and we ate it all up. The consistency was different than the other shave ice we've had on the island. It was more like a light snow then shaved ice cubes, which I actually loved. Thanks for the sweet treat on our shave iced tour around the island this trip!
google avatar

Julia W.

Yelp
This was probably one of the more worth it food that we had in Maui, where literally everything is expensive. Although for mainland prices $12 for flavored ice is pretty steep, compared to other food we tried on the island this was much more enjoyable. The shaved ice is truly special, with a snow like consistency. The star of the dish though was the coconut ice cream, Rosalind's, which unfortunately looks like is only available in Hawai'i. So highly recommend adding the ice cream scoop for a few dollars more. Service was fast and they quickly got our shave ice out to us despite being busy. My only comment is that there are a lot of local chickens around. Ignorant other tourists were feeding the chickens... ON TOP OF THEIR TABLE! Disgusting! And they didn't have the decency to clean up after themselves afterwards! The place has picnic tables outside so I wouldn't expect the workers to constantly be cleaning tables, however ignorant tourists coaxing dirty chickens on top of the tables is definitely a health violation. Maybe the restaurant could use with a sign "don't feed the chickens" to try to deter this kind of selfish behavior from tourists.
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
Wow... this is what I've always imagined shave ice to be like. It was so fluffy & creamy that you wouldn't know it was ice, and once you get towards the bottom and make 'shave ice soup,' it somehow gets even better. The Lahaina is pineapple, coconut & banana, and each flavor on its own was a flavor bomb, but when combined (like the powers of Captain Planet {IYKYK}), they were a complete explosion. The ice cream had crushed macadamia nuts in it, which was unexpected but completely delightful, and the fresh mochi was so soft & chewy... I couldn't get enough! Definitely make sure to stop here for the best of the best!
google avatar

Lainey H.

Yelp
I dream of ululani shaved ice it's the world's best shave ice I have ever had. There just something different about ululani, the shave ice has a silky smooth texture with house made syrup and pillowy soft mochi!!!! Please tip well because they work so hard to keep the line moving. This is such a gem in Maui!
google avatar

Nina T.

Yelp
The service and ambiance here was amazing, and the syrup that they use is so fresh-tasting. My favorite was the mango by far! My only warning is that this is very sweet! As someone who grew up on the east coast of the US eating Rita's water ice, I found this to be way sweeter and hard to finish. But it was very very good! Definitely worth a try!
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Love the shave ice!!! This location specifically just isn't a cute vibe unfortunately and it's always so packed
google avatar

Bianca C.

Yelp
A variety of flavors that are unique. The service was very helpful the gentleman who helped me was patient and friendly. I went here 3x during my stay and it did not disappoint. The ambience is benches outside surrounding a parking lot with chickens walking around.
google avatar

Yvonne C.

Yelp
Ululani was highly recommended to us as THE shave ice place to go when we're in Maui. The long line was a little off-putting at first, and as our wait time crept towards an hour, we were questioning whether or not it was truly worth the wait. The answer is yes. 100%. Ululani's tagline is "All shave ice is not created equal" and at first I thought it was just a genius marketing ploy to entice customers but oh my god this was the absolute softest and most flavorful Hawaiian shave ice I've ever had. You can customize your flavors or choose one of their recommended combinations. We opted for the No Ka Oi "The Best" which is mango, coconut, and passion fruit and added a scoop of coconut ice cream. Every -- and I mean EVERY -- single bite was touched by syrup. No watery mess at the end. Just fluffy-as-if-it-were-fresh-fallen-powder-snow shave ice covered with syrup that packed flavor and not overwhelming artificial taste. Seriously the best shave ice we've had on the islands. Don't be fooled by the "keiki" (kids) size labeling. It's actually the perfect portion for 1-2 people. Enjoy your treat at one of the tables outside or go across the street to take in the beach view!
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
It's a solid solid place for shaved ice. While the one I got on this particular day had too many larger, solid pieces of ice, the rest of the bowl was incredible - super smooth ice and great flavor. The kicker is the fresh mochi squares that I asked for on top. I would come back just to have the mochi again and next time, I'll be asking for a double serving!
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
Lots of fun flavors and probably the best shaved ice you'll ever taste! Get the mochi toppings! Melon flavor was a little artificial tasting, but lychee and mango were so delicious
google avatar

Daniel V.

Yelp
It was refreshing! Now when i come back i will Be trying a different flavor because the one i tried wasn't as good as my wifes! She had a really good flavor called the best'.
google avatar

Tammy S.

Yelp
One of my favorite shave ice. The texture of the ice here is unique because it's soft and I love the flavors of the syrup. They tell you that if there are any bare spots on the ice, you can go back to the window and they will add more syrup. Flavors that I got: Mango, Ube, Calamansi. All of these has good flavor. I add calamansi to add a mixture of tartness to my flavors but it was sour compared to my other 2 flavors and not a good mix. The flavor is great but I recommend combining with other flavors. I love the mango (sweet) and ube (sweet and earthy) flavors. Cute chickens are always walking around the tables. It's entertaining while waiting in line. I would definitely visit again when I'm back on the island.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try a Hawaiian shaved iced since I was a little boy watching my favorite Disney movie Lilo & Stitch. My friend who knows this surprised me by taking me here without telling me where we were going first. I was so excited. I got a large bowl of the "Sunset Beach" passion orange, mango, and guava flavor, and topped it with fresh mochi and li hing mui powder (on the employee who served us recommendation). It tasted amazing, I don't know if this is going to sound stupid, but it tasted exactly as I imagined; light, fluffy, and snow-like. I really enjoyed the mochi on top as well, it really set everything off. All in All, Ululani's Shaved Iced exceeded my expectations and was an amazing treat on a hot summer Hawaiian day.
google avatar

Melissa Smith B.

Yelp
This place was packed so we expected it to be the best shaved ice on the island. We were wrong. It was decent. The portions are smaller than other places, and if you order ice cream on the bottom, good luck finding it . A few of the flavors had a very artificial taste to them which I did not enjoy. We found somewhere else we liked a lot better with a better price for what you get. Waiting for over an hour for mediocre shaved ice is not on my list of things to do while on vacation.

Erika I.

Yelp
Who knew shaved ice is an ART. It is phenomenal here! Service was amazing and the employees go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. They go out of their way despite being busy to ask if people need anything else or if something could be better. Delicious shaved ice, it feels like ice cream it's so smooth. Honestly, probably the best mochi I've ever had, or at least in a while! So many flavors too, it's hard to choose! They take the time to shape the ice and clean the cups, they are awesome. New favorite!!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Whenever we come to the islands, my wife needs to have shave ice daily. After reviewing several locations, we are picky shave ice snobs, Ululani's comes up. when it comes to shave ice, the ice must be shaved. Meaning it should be fluffy and soft not crunchy like crushed ice, which is what a lot of places tend to do. The flavor of the syrup was good. I tend to go with the fresh fruit kind as I'm not a fan of the sweet imitations flavored syrups, although, as a kid, I loved them. I had their No-ka-oi combo with ice cream and mochi. My wife had the sunset beach. We were happy with the choice. Nothing fancy, nor the best we have had, but not the worst either. Solid product, even for self proclaimed shave ice snobs. Plenty of seating on the patio. All tables are either under the patio or have umbrellas. If it's busy, you may be out of luck. Maybe the best shave ice on Maui based on our experience so far though. No-Ka-Oi! Mahalo.
google avatar

J V.

Yelp
I was in Maui for my baby moon and shave ice was at the top of my list. I was so bummed that it wasn't until our last full day on Maui that we tried Ululani's! It was so good and everything I expected. Wish this existed in California! The texture of the ice was so, so soft and the flavors I chose were so good. Do not go anywhere else in Kihei for shave ice, GO TO ULULANI'S!
google avatar

Ps N.

Yelp
The syrup flavors are ok, the star in this shaved ice is the ice itself. The texture of the shaved ice is soft and creamy and melt in the mouth. The azuki beans are also tasty
google avatar

Marissa S.

Yelp
Shave ice everyday, baby! Nothing beats Ululani's. I can't rave enough about how consistently good their Hawaiian Shave Ice is and it's evident with the number of people making their way here for this treat. Service was full of aloha with all smiles and a genuine kindness. Was curious about some flavors and in a heartbeat I was offered samples. Calamansi is my new favorite here and Tiger's Blood is still up there as well as Lychee, Passion Fruit, Guava, and Mango. Haupia ice cream was bomb so I absolutely cannot skip this as well as snow cap as toppings. So shouldn't you. Located just across the beach, ample covered seating is available with colorful benches and tables. They also have a store next door for Ululani's merchandise. Always a sucker for stickers so got myself a cute one as a souvenir from this trip.

Yelp
Love! So glad for the Yelp recommendations. We stopped at this location on the way to the airport. Next to a Maui Farmer's Market and ABC store. Shaved ice was packed with flavor. From tart to creamy flavors...we ordered 9 and all were very happy with their picks. Snow cap adds another dimension of richness. Left side is menu has favorite combinations. Or you can use the flavors list to make your own combo of 3 flavors. Staff were friendly. Covered area with picnic tables. Parking is available. Easy quick stop. Took about 10 minutes to get an order of 9.
