Tried to make a nice Mississippi Pot Roast and the crockpot gave out on us so we needed a new dinner option. My son suggested Umai, we didn’t even know about this place and boy were we missing out! Amazing hot dogs and so many choices! Chicken sandwich was fabulous and everything was cooked to perfection! Staff was absolutely amazing and the owner was simply fantastic! My family and I could not recommend this place enough! Please go, they are great and so is the food. You will not be disappointed. Oh, family of 4 ate for $50 so you can’t beat that!

Came to try a new place and got the Umai burger, bulgogi hotdog, and kimchi fries. Would say it's a little on the pricy side. Food overall was not bad and they have some really cool Asian inspired options! Will say that the flavors could be a little more balanced. Our medium fry was a little too saucy so we asked if they could give us some more fries and they whipped us up an entire large size fry on the house!! Amazing service from Ceiline and Adam and they even gave us a sample of their ice cream. Would definitely go back to try different fry options and honestly just for their great service! :]

Me and my girlfriend got the Houston Honcho (9.5/10) & the Texas Roadhouse (9/10). Definitely give this place a try! I will be going back probably next week.

The hotdog really was good but it's crazy expensive, even considering the toppings. Employees were friendly, interior clean and modern, and decent parking. Fries are priced decently.

Yelp
We came here a few weeks ago and we look forward to coming back once they're open again. Huge shoutout goes to Michael for all of his hard work working the register then jumping on grill, I hope they're able to have more staff soon so it's not all on just one person to do everything. Extensive hot dog menu with other quick bites available. They offer bottled drinks or soft drink machine. Also plenty of parking available in this shopping center next to the nugget market. Thank you Michael for making our first time experience here enjoyable, welcoming, and we appreciate your hospitality, kindness, knowledge, and support.

Yelp
I love supporting local restaurants in my area. Of course when it comes dinner time, like always I never know where to go grab a bite. Yelp is always so helpful to find good eats. That's exactly what I did. I went on yelp and picked good eats and thats when I stumbled upon Umai Savory Hot Dogs. Upon entering the restaurant I was quite surprised that it wasn't busy at all. It's a pretty cool spot to hang out at. The menu items all looked pretty interesting. I ordered the honolulu bang bang, truffle fries, and baga sliders. I have to say wow these did not disappoint. I love the sliders! The sauce was so delicious. I could not stop eating the truffle fries! So hot and crispy! I love pineapple so the honolulu bang bang was the perfect choice for me. I can't wait to go back and try the wings. I also have to mention about how nice the cashier was. She took the time to explain about some of the menu items. I also see her working very hard and multitasking. I will definitely go back to try more delicious food.

Yelp
I received $5 off for my Birthday from Umai Savory Hot Dogs, so I decided to finally try it out. Honestly, if it wasn't for the coupon, I would have never gone here haha. I thought this place was just hot dogs trying to be fancy. To my surprise they have so many other options! Hamburgers, chicken, fries, etc. The one item that caught my eye was the Bulgogi Dog. I ordered through Toast Tab because I was in a hurry. It was very easy to order through the app, and it applied by $5 off. I entered, and my order was ready. I got home, and man, it smelled so good. The Korean bulgogi flavor was very good. There was kimchi, but it wasn't too strong, which was perfect for me. The box it came with was very nice and sturdy. So nice I took a picture of it haha. They gave me a 15% off coupon for next time. Because of the tastiness of their Bulgogi Dog and this coupon haha, I will definitely be back again to try their other items. Just be aware it is a tad bit on the pricier side for a hot dog, but it is what it is, and it was very good. There aren't many cheap eats nowadays.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Umai for so long! We always passed the location near Arden but it was never a good time to stop by and try them out. FINALLY I was able to commit to lunch here last week with their new EG spot. And oh my goodness, it was overly indulgent where every bite so dang delicious! If you're looking for a cheat day, this is where it's at! There are so many hotdogs to choose from so best believe I will be back here multiple times to try those other ones, lol. I chose the Bacon Cubano with Kimchi Fries. This whole meal had flavors I don't typically eat. The fact that I enjoyed 90% of it proved to me they know what they're doing here! I wasn't a huge fan of the mustard (a tad much for my liking) which would account for the 10%. Layers and layers of bomb flavor and textures. Salty & tangy pickled notes in every bite. Also, I've never tried kimchi before! I loved it on my fries here. I would highly recommend those to anyone, especially those timid to kimchi. The idea of kimchi never seemed interesting or tasty to me, however, I will try it now! My friend got the Bulgogi Hotdog with Umai Fries. A lot of excellent Asian flavors packed on this hotdog. Awesome actual meat with excellent flavor, not some unknown plain thin shreds of beef. Umai fries were a perfect complement to the hotdog, amazing asian flavors all around. 10/10! I'd like to add the hotdog buns they used were probably the most structurally sound pieces of bread I've ever had with this much of toppings stacked on. Not once did it ever get soggy, break in half, or was so soft it got stuck to the roof of my mouth. I need to know where they get these buns for my own parties! Came here during a weekday at 12:30. Not busy, received service very quickly and the employee was helpful in what hotdog I should order. I was between the Bacon Cubano or Nashville Brisket. I will be ordering the Nashville Brisket next time. Restaurant was clean, plenty of open space and seating, along with outdoor seating. There are high chairs available as well. I'll be coming here again very soon and I recommend you do too!

Yelp
While running errands at the nearby Nugget Supermarket and Rite Aid, I observed a new business called Umai Savory Dogs. Initially, my first thought was: "how much better can their hot dogs be versus something that you can create at home?" Weeks later, my question would be answered. Bored with our usual go-to cheat meals, I did an "around me" restaurant search on the Yelp app and Umai was at the top of my search. Impressed by the photos and reviews, we decided to place an order via DoorDash. My wife ordered the Kyoto Fire with a side of the Umai House Fries, while I ordered the Nashville Brisket with a side of the Garlic fries. For the first time in a long time, I was highly anticipating the arrival of our meals. The anticipation was definitely worth it, I confirmed that we made the right choice after taking the first bite into my Nashville Brisket dog. The combination of pepper jack cheese and pork brisket perfectly complimented one another. Also, the large order of fries was indeed plentiful (they do not skimp you) and delicious. My wife was equally impressed by her order, so impressed that she was hesitant to allow me to have a small bite (I eventually snuck a little bite and came to the conclusion that I will be ordering the same thing next time). I highly recommend Umai Savory Dogs...we will be back soon!

Yelp
First time to this location .. ordered the Honolulu hotdog combo today... it was ok.. my hotdog was cold inside so it tasted weird ... the fries were salty ... we also ordered some creamy habenero wings.. I'm not sure if it's supposed to taste like this but it tasted like lemon pepper with a siracha mayo kick... Overall the food was just ok The restaurant was pretty open.. but clean. 3 stars for the service .. order was taken quick and came out quick

Yelp
Only hot dog place in Elk Grove to my knowledge. They put almost too many toppings on the dogs that make it very difficult to eat. The bulgogi dog toppings were great but the dog didn't match the flavor profile of the toppings. The Kyoto fire dog toppings were wonderful but the dog was massively overcooked & chewy. Ambiance: 5/5 Modern inside that was clean. Hoping they get more busy later in the day! Food: 3/5 Bulgogi dog: 3/5 Dog 3/5 toppings 5/5 Was heavily sweet but good idea. Kyoto fire dog 3/5 Dog 1/5, toppings 5/5 Just wished the dog matched the toppings in quality. Toppings were crunchy, spicy & creamy. Overcooked dog. Service: 5/5 Recommended the two dogs which were not bad. Will be back to get through more of the massive menu. If there were other hot dog options like the Davis Hot Dogger I doubt I would be back.

Yelp
Found Umai Savory Hot Dogs while walking to the supermarket. I'm not a huge fan of Hot Dogs but my family is so I decided to take them to Umai. We had a mix of their menu including Tokyo Signature, Bulgogi Dog, Umai Truffle Baga, Kyoto Fire Dog, and Funnel Cake Fries. The restaurant was clean and had lots of parking nearby. The cashier was friendly and they were playing current pop music. The food arrived 5-10 minutes after we ordered. All the food was fresh and brought a new taste to the old Hot Dog and Burger. The mix of ingredients worked for all the different specialties. Prices seemed in line with other places. Most of the meat is 100% Angus Beef and the bun was a thicker and more fulfilling than other normal hot dog buns.

Yelp
This was my first time at this location - the restaurant was very open & clean, the staff was nice & our food came out quickly. After eating multiple times at the other location in San Jose, I think I prefer that one over here. The Nashville brisket dog was good - a little greasy, but good overall, the truffle fries were awesome, but the Texas Roundhouse dog was underwhelming. They literally smothered the dog with the fried onions & chips and then lightly drizzled the two sauces on top of it. I had to dump about half the toppings & in doing so, I didn't get any of the sauces on the actual hot dog so it became a little underwhelming. I didn't want to be rude & ask the chef for more sauce, but the hot dog/bun was still delicious. We'll be back again if we're in the area!

Yelp
Who doesn't like Hot Dogs? No one! Unfortunately Umai= U my was not Oh my for me as I read the solid reviews and savored over the good looking pics of their offerings We tried 1. Bulgogi Dog= Too sweet & lack the bulgogi korean flavor 2. Chicago chopper = dog was decent but bun was soggy 3. Chili cheese fries= good My overall impression was maybe if I dined in instead of getting it Togo, perhaps the bun wouldn't be soggy? Nevertheless the flavor of the dogs wouldn't change! I will give it another try in the future & update my review Look at the pics, looked very promising huh?

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick mid-afternoon snack with friends, and we left wholly satisfied! We tried: Kyoto Fire Hotdog: nice spicy kick, perfect amount of sauce to balance out flavors and textures of the bun + hot link. Shinjuku Shadow Hotdog: the cheddar threw off the other more Asian-esque flavors (bonito flakes, green onion), but overall a flavorful combo. Truffle Fries: to me, they were perfectly cooked because I like my fries on the crispier side. Well seasoned, and the truffle flavor definitely comes through without being TOO overpowering, but beware you may find it strange if you've never had truffle. Overall, we were pleased with the quick service and bold yet balanced flavor combos. Everything we tried lived up to being savory -- so much so that we wished we had boba to go with our food! (Wink wink for business ideas in the area)

Yelp
Came here on Friday the 13th at about 7:50pm at the request of my fiancé. We came specifically for their fries as that's what we love to eat. We ordered the Umai fries and they did not disappoint. The fries had an amazing texture despite being covered in the sauce. Definitely recommend eating right away if you like your fries crispy. Very rich in flavor like an umami bomb in your mouth. So if you're not into flavor explosions in your mouth this might be overwhelming for you. Service was good. Order took about 5 mins. Would definitely come back as the size and proportions received for a large were relatively decent for the cost.

Yelp
Maybe 2.7 Overall: I think Umai has potential, but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to visit for the food. Food: On this occasion I got the Tokyo Signature bc I was craving Japadog from Vancouver. The TS at Umai comes w/ an angus beef hotdog, caramelized onions, roasted seaweed, terimayo, teriyaki sauce, and sesame seeds on a toasted bun. In terms of the taste, I was definitely pretty disappointed. The caramelized onions were thick cut, lukewarm, and minimally caramelized. The roasted seaweed felt sprinkled as an afterthought. The sauces were present but unremarkable (missed opportunity for Japanese mayo). The hotdog itself has good flavor but would've benefited from some char on the outside. I did appreciate the fluffiness of the bun, though the composition didn't really live up to the name of "Signature" at all. I've also tried the Houston Honcho before on a prior visit, and I think that wasn't bad but not very memorable. Service: The employee working was kind albeit being pretty busy with orders. Ambiance: Not much to say in this regard, but the restaurant was a bit too warm for comfort.

Yelp
I didn't realize this was an establishment with multiple locations until I walked in, and I can understand now why they've been popular. This place is good. With a lot of different and unique options on the menu, there's something for everyone. Located in a busy part of Elk Grove, it has a cute little spot in a shopping location that is popular with EG people. It's probably on the least busiest corner, making it easier for parking than the other two shopping plazas in the intersection. The hot dog I got was solid, and unique. It was BBQ themed, and there was brisket. I'd love to come back and try the other things available, so I'll definitely be back. I also got the Umai fries, and I thought they were really good. Sweet, salty, texture was there. I'd gladly order that again. Refillable fountain drinks always score points with me, and that's their setup. If you're a person that likes to have plenty of liquids like me, you'll be happy there. They take American Express, so don't worry if you want to churn those MR points. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
So I saw this place the other week and decided to go there for dinner tonight. Wanted something different and this fit the bill. There was no one inside so we had time to look over the menu. I did ask the worker what he would recommend. The company was founded by a Vietnamese man so I was surprised to see mostly Caucasian people working there except for one. The place was a nice size and we did eat inside. The place seem a little dirty. There were some tables left un bussed. Our table was dirty. They seemed to have ample help working. I think there were 4 workers there. So I ordered the Bulgogi Dog and I thought I got the UMAI Truffle Dog but something else came out instead . i was going to complain but I just ate it. They were both pretty tasty. I enjoyed them. I will probably try them again and get the dog I wanted.

Yelp
This place hasn't been open for very long. Still pretty new to the area. It is next to the Nugget on Elk Grove Blvd. The food was pretty good. We ordered a variety of different things to try. We ordered a chicken sandwich, truffle burger, Tokyo hot dog and Bulgogi hot dog. I surprisingly really liked the truffle burger. I'm not too into the truffle thing. I think it's a little strong for me, both smell and taste. The burger was really good, the flavoring was just right. The truffle flavor wasn't overpowering. I did like the Tokyo dog too. The flavors went well and tasted good. The other two, chicken and the bulgogi was ok. Tasting the others with a lot of flavors made the chicken sandwich taste plan. The staff was very nice. They had a few tables inside the restaurant, but it's not very dining area. There was no one sitting at the tables, but they were not clean. The tables could have used some wiping down.

Yelp
Was greeted upon entering and the workers were patient while we looked over the menu. We decided on the dirty dog, bulgogi dog, and brisket fries. They brought the food to our table and they seemed to read our minds by giving us water cups too. The dirty dog was huge and loaded with toppings. And I definitely did get a bit dirty while eating it. The bulgogi dog had a good amount of bulgogi and it and it was seasoned well. The hot dogs in both were cooked well and were very big! The buns were lightly toasted outside and provided the perfect balance to the hot dogs and toppings. The brisket fries were amazing! They were generously loaded with brisket and cheese and bbq sauce. And the fries were perfectly crispy!! I am highly impressed and will be back to try other dogs and fries!!

Yelp
Worth the try: Tokyo Signature, whichever dog/sausage piques your interest Tip: You can order ahead online! Bonus tip: When ordering online (and probably whenever you're ordering), you can sub the type of dog/sausage. Tokyo Signature: angus beef dog with caramelized onions, roasted seaweed, teri mayo, teriyaki sauce, and white sesame. This was my favorite item of the 3 we tried! Super flavorful in each bite and balances the traditional hot dog with juuust a bit of a twist. Shinjuku Shadow: bratwurst sausage with diced daikon (radish), furikake, teriyaki, spicy cheddar sauce, bonito flakes, green onion. This one had a prominent flavor with the daikon and onion, and the cheddar sauce really does have a kick to it. (I asked for my cheddar on the side since I'm not a huge fan of saucy things!) Umai House Fries: fries in teriyaki/dynamite sauce topped with roasted seaweed and sugar. Has a sweeter taste to it and good for those who want something different yet saucy. The medium can easily be shared amongst 2 - 4 people. PARKING: Tons of parking available in the lot in front. SERVICE: Workers were kind and had my order ready to go once I got there. ATMOSPHERE: Casual spot with tons of seating available inside. Saw that this place opened next to the Nugget Market and had to check it out! I ordered ahead online and picked it up to-go, and the food was still delicious at home. I love how many varieties they have and how easy it is to customize your order. Great, quick bite and definitely worth the try. Will be coming back to try the other items on the menu!

Yelp
Me: "Which hot dog do you recommend?" Cashier dude: "The bulgogi dog. I had that one this morning." Okay sold lol. Pretty extensive hot dog menu. The bulgogi dog that I ended up ordering had tender and flavorful bulgogi meat but I wasn't a fan of the taste of the hot dog itself (tasted too overly-process-y like bologna). Kinda preferred to just have the bulgogi meat and the fluffy hot dog bun. Cashier dude also recommended the brisket fries. Brisket was a tad flossy-dry but the fries themselves were scrumptiously super crispy. Couldn't stop munching on 'em. As for dessert, I was most intrigued on the banana dog.....which is essentially an egg roll with mashed banana filling (reminiscent of Filipino turon) that's snugged into a soft sweet bun and is topped with icing. Yes, as you can imagine it was a sugar bomb but a really delicious one at that lol. Staff was friendly. Overall not a bad spot if you're hungry and want something a bit different than typical food spots in the area.

Yelp
I still remember going to the first Umai in the area many years ago during my early Yelp days. They had many locations pop up one after the other but sadly close soon after. I hope Elk Grove will be their lucky charm! They have a nice location next to Nugget Market. Their service was quick and friendly for their opening day. I'm not a hot dog person but I do enjoy the Umai hot dogs with all of the fun Asian fusion toppings. We had the Bulgogi dog and the Tokyo Signature dog during this visit. I love the fresh kimchi on the bulgogi dog, but the caramelized onions are so good on the Tokyo dog! I think the price is fair considering most of these have an additional protein on top of the hot dog. We also had some brisket fries which are good but they're best eaten fresh, otherwise it's just a big mush from all the sauce. The garlic noodles were a surprising win for me. I didn't think the fettuccine would be a good idea for these but they were actually super moist and lots of garlic flavor. Can't wait to come back so I can try more of the hot dog options!

Yelp
Saw Umai opened up near Nuggets and while a few other shops have opened in the Sacramento area, they didn't last long. I hope this one does! I found out just recently that this establishment used to be Falafel Corner and seems like my credit card is also reading it as Falafel Corner. I came in, right when they opened which meant no line and there happened to be another customer ahead of me. Menu was straightforward. Great descriptions of toppings for all of the hot dogs. They also offer burgers, noodles, fries and make it a combo if you like. As I walked in, I wasn't really greeted by anyone. The cashier went up to the register and waited for me to order. He stood there waiting without asking if I had any questions or to let him know when I'd be ready. Then I think he got impatient and went to the kitchen to see if he could try to busy himself. Finally, I was ready to order and decided on the Shinjuku Shadow. The cashier asked me something but he was very soft and to me, it sounded like he mumbled something and wasn't very clear. I had to ask him to repeat what he said a couple of times but even so, I just couldn't hear him. But I think since I didn't respond to his question, he ended up phrasing it differently which was, "Would you like to make it a combo?". I'm sorry but I couldn't hear him nor could I understand what he was trying to say because he was so soft spoken and mumbled it so quickly that I was shocked when I realized what he was trying to ask me. Declined on the combo. I got the Shinjuku Shadow without the spicy cheddar but as an after thought, maybe I should have. It comes with pickled daikon, green onions, furikake, umai teriyaki, bonito flakes & green onions. I don't think I saw furikake nor the teriyaki sauce so my hot dog felt a little dry and I likely was missing those ingredients. Since I'm also dairy free, no spicy cheddar on mine which, like I said, opted out on. The bratwurst was juicy and salty (expected). Overall, the hot dog felt a tad dry. While waiting for my order, overheard the customer ahead of me compliment the bulgogi dog. Will have to try that one next time. Mine was ok. I think the bun was partially toasted, wasn't that cold nor stale. It was somewhat flavorful but I think, had I gotten it with the spicy cheddar, it would have been better. Ingredients are fresh though. My dog came out pretty quickly and the employee handing me my order was very nice. Packaging was good and it didn't jostle around in the box on the drive home. I think this place has potential but they need to work on the customer service. Presentation was also good. Will have to come back to try other things on their menu.

Yelp
Japanese comfort fast food based around hot dogs. Staff seemed not very well trained; but were very friendly. I ordered the spicy Thai noodles and it wasn't spicy at all; nor was there much discernible flavor or any vegetables but green onions. There were plenty of peanuts. This could have been so much better. Noodles were overcooked and I needed lots of extra seasoning (which staff were happy to provide.) Italian sausage veggie dogs were advertised on the menu, but weren't actually available. It was rather disappointing. Not that I wouldn't give them another chance, but I just wasn't wowed my first time. Happy to update this review later if the experience is better.

Yelp
Bottom line: -1 for price Short description: Five guys taste better for the same price, but you want something different this is the place! The food: We've got 1 bulgogi combo (fries and raspberry ice tea, fountain drink) and 1 cluckbanger (fried chicken burger). The bulgogi taste good, but the hotdog is average (or below). The bun is average. The sausage was below average. It didn't have the snap of that crispy skin that a good hotdog should have. The chicken burger is decent. Quite spicy actually. I also shared the same view about other review about not loading on the toppings. That's what usually people relate to hotdogs. The service: I went really late like 2:30 pm on a weekend on a very hot day, and there was no customer before me and a small group after me when I picked up the food. There was a tray of noodles right at the cashier (which I was surprised, but they are wrapped which is good). The service was good, with 3 person behind the counter. The place is well lid and clean. It actually gives an office vibe if you see the ceiling (like if those depressing cubicles). The place is conveniently located in the nugget plaza with plenty of parking space. Overall this is not a place I immediately link to good hotdogs (like that blue vendor trunk in Toronto that I always lined up for 30 minutes at the city hall for their amazing "simple" hotdogs and fries). I hope this is only the soft opening and the sausages will improve.

Yelp
Wow!! Usually I'm not in the mood for a hotdog so it took me some time before finally trying out this spot. In the beginning, they only sold hotdogs but now they sell a whole array of items which is a pleasant surprise. When we walked in, there were two workers who were speedily completing online orders. We placed a to-go order and received ours after around 10 minutes. Both hotdogs were super unique in their own way, the sauce used for the umai truffle was absolutely amazing. The shinjuku shadow dog had a slight sweetness that paired well with the saltiness. Overall, a very yummy spot and would be back to try out their other items!

Yelp
After reading several reviews about Umai and hearing a couple of mixed reviews from some people that I personally know, my kiddo and I decided to order them from DoorDash. The order took quite a bit to be delivered, even though I had paid to have the order be delivered ASAP. My daughter ordered the Plain (Angus Beef) Hot Dog with ketchup, mayo, seasoned fries, and a Dr. Pepper. She absolutely loved everything about her entire order, which is funny because she is usually pretty picky. She said she would definitely want to order from Umai again. I ordered the Plain (Angus Beef) Hot Dog as well, with ketchup, mustard, onions, and chili cheese fries. First of all, the "corn dusted bun" was very dry and there was way more bun than there was hot dog. Next, the hot dog tasted like it had been way overcooked. Finally, there was so much ketchup and mustard covering the entire hot dog that I had to remove some of it, but of course when I did that, the few onions that were on there came off as well. The chili cheese fries were pretty soggy and not enjoyable. In the end, while I might pick up an order for my daughter in the future if she has the urge for Umai again, I will not be ordering for myself.

Yelp
First time trying Umai Savory Hot Dogs and I will be COMING BACK! I asked for some recommendations because I was between the Honolulu Bang Bang or the Dirty dog and I went with the Hawaiian one--Honolulu BANG BANG! So, so bomb. Must go again.

Yelp
I am a hot dog lover from way back so the prospect of gourmet hot dogs would get my taste buds a flutter. Umai did not disappoint. My girlfriend and I each tried the Tokyo signature with its caramelised onion and roasted seaweed and UMAI Teriyaki, delicious. The dogs are delectable and the.soft buns delicious. We both got two dogs a piece. UMAI also has hamburgers as well as fries, Which I will try next time. I highly recommend taking a visit to UMAI's for the discriminating hot dog lover.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Umai Savory Hot Dogs. I'm not a big fan of hot dogs. But I'm a big fan of Korean food. I got a Bulgogi Hot Dog. This hot dog mostly sounds like Korean food. Oh! Boy, it tastes so delicious. It changed my entire feeling about hot dogs now. Hot dogs can be delicious. Lol The young lady behind the cash register is very sweet and friendly. She has a smile on her face all the time--perfect and excellent customer service. I like their dining room. It is very relaxing and wide open, with enough room between tables. The outdoor dining area looks nice too. This is an enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
Definitely have to try the impossible truffle bagá. It's so good. The mushrooms add the perfect touch & the bun is so soft.

Yelp
I got the bugolgi hot dog for my second time here. I definitely prefer the Togo box over their usual red baskets as it was easier to hold the food when it falls. It was so flavorful and they were super generous with the toppings. It was loaded with bugolgi and kimchi. A sweet thing included with my order today was that a worker took the time to write "Have a nice day!" on my box. Small gesture but it was super cute! Loving it and will come again.

Yelp
Delicious spin on the hot dog. The fries were good & burger was perfectly cooked. The service was non-existent and food took awhile to get to our table but overall it was good. Price was a little steep for a bedazzled hot dog and the flavor was not all that great (hence the one star deduction) but all in all, the experience was good. I recommend this spot!

Yelp
Came here to grab dinner and it was definitely the right choice. The big mozzarella sticks are super crunchy and the cheese pull is everything. The umai fries, were so delicious, crispy and super flavorful definitely had that umami in it! Now onto the hotdogs! The Kyoto fire is definitely my favorite one but sub polish dog for a tad less spice as I like my food spicy but not too spicy, it was good the hot dog was cooked perfectly and the toppings were the perfect amount. The Seoul one is also really good, comes with a good amount of kimchi and it pairs well. This place has definitely made it onto my regulars as there so much more items I need to try.

Yelp
Ordered 2 hotdogs and chicken tenders. The first hotdog has pineapple and teriyaki sauce (2/5) and the second one was the Chicago hot dog(3/5). There's a lot of choices so I would go back and try other ones. The chicken tenders and fries were very crispy, and delicious. Service was great! They were very amicable and quick with helping us with anything we needed. The ambience, couldn't really tell since it was very empty, when we went. I would say, check it out, and see for yourself!

Yelp
Service was a little slow but was well worth the wait! So unique in comparison to other places I've been to and had lots of variety on the menu!!

Yelp
Food was really good! Tried the location in San Jose and quality is pretty much the same. We were served immediately as we entered. If you've been to the SJ location, it's kinda the same vibes but bigger, not as decorated but still gives a street food aesthetic. Overall, would recommend and will probably come here again in the future.

Yelp
It was all very good. So much flavor. I love all of the unique options. I can't wait to go back and try something new.

Yelp
I just moved to Elk Grove and was looking to try something new. I have only positive things to say about this place. Very friendly staff and ready to help as soon as I walked in. Excellent food, very clean restaurant, and I love the atmosphere. Thanks again guys, I'll be back!

Yelp
Most of you are thinking, "but it's just a hot dog,". I'm here to tell you, it's not. Each dog I've had has been packed with amazing flavor and quality ingredients. They have cracked the code on taking a basic hot dog and elevating its flavor to provide an overall delicious experience. I would totally suggest this place. My faves are the Kyoto Fire and Dirty Dog. I always order two dogs because why not? If you're not into dogs, they have burgers, chicken sandos and wings. But just try the dogs.

Yelp
The restaurant had a promising menu full of inviting flavors. Unfortunately they missed on execution. In this visit we ordered the popular Bulgogi dog and Tokyo Dog. Both of the hot dog meats were not cooked! If they were both were served COLD. I cooked my hot dog and scraps of bulgogi beef in the microwave. Even after that we thought both dogs were underwhelming. The place seemed to be popular with a busy lunch crowd. I expect the novelty will fade unless they consistently improve on the execution. Unfortunately, we don't expect to come back.

Yelp
I really like this place a lot! However they only had ONE person working when I came in on a Wednesday night around 6:50. They should have had at least 2 people working! I almost left but decided to wait it out. I will not do that again if only ONE person is working the money and the grill

Yelp
[Vegan Review] My husband and I were craving hot dogs and normally have to always make them ourselves (which we are use to). I saw Umai had opened up after a recent trip to Nugget. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had not just veggie dogs you could sub in but a veggie chick'n patty for their sandwich menu too. My husband is the one who did the ordering and was lucky enough to speak with Kevin who was very knowledgeable about the menu and took great care helping him to confirm which of the menu items were vegan by default or how they could be made as such. It can be tough with certain sauces and knowing if they have egg or dairy in them. We found the allergen menu online after that fact which covers most of the menu. There were a few items not listed. Where Kevin really went the extra mile is on one of the dogs we ordered, he confirmed the caramelized onions are cooked with butter but he offered to cook them without. 100/10 for amazing customer service and willingness to help a customer! I know they are new but perhaps down the road the menu could include a few signature dogs under a specific vegan section of the menu. This helps in regards to folks who don't want to pay the same price for items when they are asking to get less on them. We will definitely be back! *Brands offered at time of review for veggie dogs: Beyond Sausage and Field Roast. GF buns are the only ones made without egg or milk.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place as the photos on the website looked so tasty. We arrived there early for dinner around 5 PM and we were the only ones there. The employees were talking amongst themselves and we were not greeted. We ordered the Philly Me Up hotdog, the UMAI truffle dog, a Nashy Boy, and some garlic fries. Philly Me Up - good, but portion was small for the price. UMAI truffle dog - good, no complaints Nashy Boy - the chicken must not have been heated thoroughly b/c it was cold in the middle Garlic Fries - the fries were the bottom of the bag because they were all tiny and refried. Overall, the customer service was subpar and the food could have been so much better. The cashier didn't know if the water was filtered or not and he didn't have a positive attitude. It was also really warm inside the restaurant as if the A/C wasn't turned down low enough. I love to support local businesses but this experience was very disappointing. Not sure if we'll be back.... Not worth the value. Good luck guys

Yelp
Yes, they have the usual standard dog but then they have total unique ones too. We tried the Big GoGi Dog! Yummy! I'll be back! UMAI have 8 different specialty hot dogs. If you like a great hot dog come here. I had originally order two dogs but I'm glad I didn't! I could barely finish one. The garlic fries are awesome! The place just opened up and I hope they do well . The staff welcomes you in and I like that touch. There is plenty of seats. Now I know where to go when I want a hot dog. There was no music blaring though they have college football games on multiple screens. Go!

Yelp
Greetings all. Let me start by saying, I LOVE CHILI DOGS!!!! And as different as people are, I think I know a great chili dog when I have one and am persuaded I'd get much agreement. Even though I wouldn't go back unless they change the chili, I'm not trying to bash the product. I got a regular chili cheese dog with mustard and relish. A pretty basic type hot dog product. The bun was really good and substantial. Someone picked my food up and traveled about 2 miles before I got it. So the fact that the bun stood the test of a time/short trip was great. Now the angus beef wiener was okay. The texture was nice and tight; not mushy. The flavor was acceptable but I've had better tasting wieners (e.g. a well-known large warehouse ). Now the real problem was with the chili. It taste like Hormel's w/beans and it was an okay amount. If this chili was restaurant made, a change of recipe may be beneficial. Even if they doctored up a commercial brand, it shouldn't look and taste just like Hormel's. I'm not a fan of beans in my fast food chili dogs. Lastly, they were super skimpy on the cheese. If I didn't love chili dogs as much as I do, I might would try them again. But if you do gourmet well (as the reviews suggest), it seems reasonable that a basic chili dog would be jammin. That was not my experience. As another reviewer stated, the dogs are pricey--too pricey. I'm into value; the size was a good value. The taste was not a hit for the price. So my true rating is 3.5. My first suggestion would be to develop an Asian inspired/fusion chili that is jammin. The rest will take care of itself for me. I'm glad I tried Umai savory dogs because I'd be wondering about them when I got back home, to Los Angeles. I know to each her own; and as one Shark would say, "I'm out!"

Yelp
We ordered the Texas Roundhouse HALAL (no longer on the menu but they gave us an equivalent to that without bbq chips) and the Kyoto Fire. Taste: Texas Roundhouse 7/10; Kyoto Fire 8/10 It's definitely good tasting. However the price is ridiculous. This is maybe 1.5 or 2 times the size of a normal hot dog but the price is too much for that. Basically $20 for 2 hot dogs is insane. I wouldn't come back here again unless the price was decreased. 2-3 hot dogs are good enough for one person so you're looking at $20-30 per person for hot dogs. Pretty insane. Side note: all their chicken hot dogs are halal so that's cool if you're looking for that Good service. Fast service. Decent looking restaurant with music and sports playing on their televisions.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat from when I am on the go! I usually order the kimchi fries with brisket for an extra couple dollars more and it is super filling! The service is great, sometimes they can be pretty busy but overall, great service. And the environment that this restaurant is located at is great for many students, families and friends! Filled with other fast food spots as well as different stores!

Yelp
I ordered online! I didn't get my drink or the correct fries. What I did receive was tasty! The flavor was great. Just a little rushing when processing orders! The delivery driver was amazing!!!!
