Umami by Han Rotterdam

The flavors were solid, but the presentation lacked the visual 'wow' factor I expected from a Michelin-rated spot. While the taste is definitely there, the portion sizes felt a bit underwhelming for the price point. Great location, though—the surrounding square is lovely and the atmosphere of the neighborhood is a plus.

Came here for the set menu (Bib Gourmand) and had the most wonderful experience. The food is out of the world, the atmosphere is warm, and the staff are very efficient. The only small improvement would to be to bring the courses out quicker. Highly recommended!

We had a duck bao bun and a “chicken sandwich” for Lunch. The sandwich could have benefited from a better sauce, such as Kewpie mayo, but the meat was very juicy and really tasty. Unfortunately, the bread partially fell apart, which made it a bit difficult to eat. The bao bun also had very juicy and flavorful meat. However, the toppings that were supposed to be inside were arranged more as decoration on the side — it looked nice, but made it inconvenient to eat. The service was great and very friendly; however, the prices are on the higher side.

We had an excellent experience at Umami in Rotterdam! We ordered the Social Dining with the In Between option, and it’s honestly hard to say which dish was the best because every single one was absolutely delicious – a true explosion of flavors. The service was also outstanding: attentive, quick, and very friendly, which really made the experience even better. The only downside was the heat. There was no air conditioning inside, so like most people, we opted to sit outside. Because of that, it got quite crowded and the tables were placed very close to each other. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit – the food and service are truly impressive!

Very tasty umami flavors! I loved the food so much. Nice accompanied wines aswell advised by the friendly staff. Good and relaxed atmosphere. The courses came at a nice tempo. Highly recommend this place when you’re in Rotterdam :)

Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. The dishes were well balanced and full of flavor, but a special mention definitely goes to the tea. It was exceptional and complemented the food perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. A truly enjoyable and thoughtful dining experience

I came here with 2 friends for dinner and it was a fantasticly delicious experience. Was this the best food I've had, nopes, I've had better but for the price to quality to ambience to service aspect this was pretty top notch. We opted for 2 vegetarian 3 course and 1 standard 3 course meal. The service was friendly and swift, and the ambience felt nice. The food tasted amazing, the quality of ingredients and textures were all top notch. My mocktail was really nice too. I am yet to try dessert and anything alcohol here but I'm sure that is going to hit the spot too. I'll be back soon and keep up the good work.

my waitress emma was v nice, she gave us good advice on the menu. even tho she was busy the whole night w other customers, we felt like we were the stars of the show. very good first date, i think im gonna marry him. thank you emma. ps : im not good at taking photos of food before eating.
