Definitely a solid 4 stars. Innovative and memorable menu. Friendly and attentive (and informative) waiters. Well-judged portion sizes that were satisfying without being excessive.
I had the 5 course Umami menu and for my tastes some of the courses were better (e.g. donkey tortellini with mustard, and delectable scallops) than others (e.g. duck that was quite rubbery). The atmosphere is also a little too slick and polished, so it loses a bit of humanity. And there was no information on where the ingredients came from (especially: are the scallops diver-caught, or farmed sustainably, or are they scraped from the ocean floor by dredging?). But still a memorable meal and acceptable value for €65. I would return.
For anyone looking for similar ‘omakase’ experiences I would strongly recommend ITER Vallebona which is an exceptionally good 8-course tasting menu for €64.
