Chris was super kind and the food was fantastic. You can tell that she has passion for what she does. There are only two tables inside her restaurant, so you might want to opt for takeout. The portion sizes are pretty hefty (my photos were taken after we started eating - I apologize). It’s a one woman show, so patience is important - but the wait is worth it!! Very flavorful, very fresh.

A cute little place to have a delicious veggie fried rice and noodles. Definitely recommended for your veggie/vegan stop near Massanutten resort! May have limited spaces to sit.

Our party of five was craving sustenance after hiking that morning and Google Maps revealed this tiny little spot to be one of the closest options. Couldn't be more glad we stopped! The space is teensy, but as the only patrons we managed comfortably around the one back table within the restaurant. Our server was also the cook, a truly remarkable one-woman show who had our food to us relatively quickly considering she was the only employee, but not so fast as to suggest re-heated or pre-packaged meals (it felt like the majority of our food was being made to order). She was otherwise friendly but left us to our own devices when pertinent (a real pro!). Every single thing we ordered was fabulous: tofu lettuce wraps, tofu rice entree, a tofu bahn mi and then (one of the specials) birria ramen. Reasonably priced, the food was outstanding- fresh and crunchy, rich and warming, a varied array of textures and flavors. If we ever return to Massanutten I will make it my mission to return here. So good!

The food here is fresh, fun, tasty and delicious. It's a tiny place that packs a punch in your foodie face! Chef Chris hales from Vietnam. Her personality and friendliness will make her home countrymen proud. Did I mention that her cooking is fantastic?! Don't hesitate to stop in for a delicious meal when you're in town.

The woman working was incredibly nice and welcoming. She was handling everything on her own between taking orders, cooking, and serving. The food took a little while, but I appreciated her effort and patience. The ambiance is a little unusual. Inside, there are just two small tables that feel a bit cramped, while outside there are four more communal-style tables. Definitely more of a casual, quick-bite setup than a linger-and-dine atmosphere. As for the food: • Edamame – Tasty, though I would’ve liked a bit more salt or some kind of sauce to elevate it. • Shrimp spring rolls – Solid and fresh, with a nice peanut dipping sauce. • Chicken Banh Mi – Just okay for me. The bread was on the soft side (I prefer a crustier French roll), but the mayo and veggies were enjoyable. The chicken was tender but lacking in flavor and heat — I wished for a bit more punch. • Fried Rice with Tofu – A solid dish, flavorful and satisfying. All in all, Umami feels like a small-town spot with potential, but it’s more of a casual, simple meal than a standout destination. Service was warm and the food decent, though with some small tweaks it could shine brighter.

Well worth the wait! The banh mi was to die for! In fact, I can't stop thinking about it. We also had the hibachi chicken/shrimp and potstickers, both of which were equally amazing. I want to try the pho next time! Service was phenomenal as well.

First visit and will not be the last! Pho with chicken was fresh, simple, and delicious. Reasonably priced. Another great small restaurant in the Village of the Valley. Updated, 8 months later Pho is still amazing! Great for takeout.

We ordered take out and are so glad we did! The gentleman who took our order on the phone was kind and thorough. They were knowledgeable about gluten free options. It tasted like fresh, truly homemade food and we’re so glad to have this option nearby. We’ll be back! (Pictured is the vermicelli bowl with tofu, one of the gluten free options).

I love this location and appreciated the setup. We had two families order back to back and the signage was clear that the wait is variable. So we expected a bit of a wait but it challenged our young ones in spite of games to tide them over. The best things we ordered were the pork dumplings and classic Vietnamese rice, chicken, and veggie side. The drunken noodles were just okay (too many noodles, too little veggies). Shrimp etouffe was also fine. Would definitely be back to try other things--I appreciate how hard they worked and thought half our order was delightful!

Not to be dramatic, but the food here is AMAZING! Krys is just the nicest person and her food is phenomenal. She is a one woman show and did a great job of communicating the timing for my order, and she was really accommodating so I could order, run home to drop groceries and then come back to pick up the order. I got the seafood pancake and the weekly special (bao buns). The seafood pancake was light and crispy, even after a 10 minute car ride. There was so much shrimp in each piece. The sauce was a great balance of salty flavor to add. Not oily at all! The bao buns had Chinese bbq pork, cucumber, and green onion. The buns were fluffy and delicious. The pork had great marbling and was incredibly savory and delicious. Not fatty, but some fat for flavor. I will be back for sure!!

Amazingly delicious high quality food! The service was great and had very friendly staff making us want to come back several times to this location! Highly recommend this spot if you are in Massenutten or the Harrisonburg area! They have many options for dishes and all of the veggies and meat were so fresh! I also like that it's a take out restaurant so you can eat in your car or enjoy in your own home!

Really enjoyed everything we have had here - Bahn mi, shrimp po boy, udon noodles, potstickers, shrimp spring rolls. Super fresh ingredients, made with lots of care and attention, and the owner is very sweet (when ordering, give it some extra time as it is a one- woman show for now). Really great variety to this local area and looking forward to seeing how they grow!

This new takeout place is fantastic. If you're looking for something different, not the usual burgers and pasta, check them out. Cajun, Vietnamese, and some classic American too. All delicious with generous portions.
