A newer Delmar Loop arrival offering Taiwanese‑style hot pot in a welcoming setting. Covered by Riverfront Times, it’s an interactive meal where you choose broths and ingredients, great for groups exploring regional Chinese hot pot traditions.

Thinking of trying something new? Then check this restaurant out. We walked in without reservations and were able to get a table. On the menu, you pick out your broth (2), noodle, protein and vegetables. It is then brought to your table and you cook it as you go. The food was delicious. The staff was very helpful as we had never gone to this style restaurant before. I loved the vegetable selection...it's huge! There's a little bit of something for everyone on the menu. Check them out and support local.

It was our first visit to a hotpot dining experience & everything was yummy! We had a larger group (9) & it made it a bit more complicated trying to decide how much meat & veggies / starch to get. Overall, a very cute place & cool concept.

Four of us really enjoyed our hotpot dinner here. It is our granddaughter’s favorite restaurants. We had never been to a hotpot restaurant before. It was interesting and fun. We chose the spicy beef broth and the chicken broth for our hotpot dinner. Then we chose the chicken and lamb meat options. Everything was very good! When we were done, our granddaughter got the leftover broths to go. She then makes her own hotpot at home with them.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at a beautiful little restaurant on the Loop tonight. The restaurant was clean and very cutely decorated in a modern style. We ordered A LOT of food for 2 people! Our base order was the course for 2. The duel pot gave us a variety of flavors between the Imperial golden chicken and kimchi broth. We ordered the pork belly, eye of round and added the seafood combo and also added the Fish cake. The mushroom basket was beautifully presented. We topped it off with some Sparkling Soju which was better than a dessert because they were so sweet and flavorful!

Simply scrumptious! Easy to order. Quick delivery to tables. Very relaxing atmosphere! Fun experience cooking your own selections. You also get to make your own sauces. Start off with a small bottle of Jinro Grapefruit drink that is 13% ABV. It is sweet, almost like a schnapps ❣️❣️I gave it the college try, but switched to a fork instead of the chopsticks. Just easier for my not-nimble fingers🤷‍♀️The lamb was flavorful, the shiitake mushrooms perfect, the meter of beef very tender! The buttery golden chicken broth was the perfect bottom note for all the vegetables and meats. You MUST ADD this to your things to do! Relax and plan on a relaxing, cool, fun adventure! Check for their all you-can-eat hours!

The best hot pot I’ve had in a really long time. The place had good Asian vibe to it. They’ve only soft opened the restaurant when we visited but they had almost everything available. The service was good, quick and the staff were friendly. I like how it’s so convenient to order right from your phone. Ordering for the group or single person order is so easy, just scan the QR code and get going. All the menu had pictures on them so it was easy to select. They had a huge section for sauces and extra condiments you can mix together and make your own dipping sauce based on your palette. I personally love the sesame sauce and wa so happy to find that as I didn’t know what to ask for while ordering. The food tasted really good. And the portion size was also good. We were a group of four and were so full by the end of the meal. Highly recommend.

I would recommend trying this place - We had a nice meal here, the hostess was very sweet and our waiter was super kind and helpful, which we really appreciated. Just a heads-up: they don’t serve alcohol yet since they’re still waiting on their liquor license. The food itself was pretty standard for a hotpot place—nothing mind-blowing but still enjoyable. However, the condiment and sauce station could use some love. It’s set up right in the main walkway, which gets a bit chaotic, and the selection is pretty limited compared to other hotpot spots. The biggest issue, though, was the furniture. The chairs are too low, so it’s awkward to reach the table comfortably. Plus, the hot pot table enclosure is so wide that everyones knees kept hitting it. We all had to sit sideways, which made eating less enjoyable. If you go, I’d highly recommend asking for a booth.

Google
Great atmosphere and food, love the choice of meat and there are plenty of broth options. I highly recommend being this was my first hot pot experience and I loved it!!! 10/10 would try again.

Yelp
The service and food was great! We loved the chill cozy ambiance of the restaurant. We will be back.

Yelp
Hot Pot Happiness at Umami Seasons! Had the most fun and flavorful visit to Umami Seasons for hot pot, and it did not disappoint! We kicked things off with a tasty kimchi appetizer--the perfect spicy, tangy start. For our broths, we went with the spicy broth (a bold, fiery kick!) and the tomato broth, which totally took me back--hello, grown-up SpaghettiOs vibes in the best way possible. But let's talk about the star of the show: the meats. We had a seriously delicious spread--shrimp, beef, pork belly, and scallops--all top quality and so satisfying. We tossed in some mushrooms too for extra heartiness, and they soaked up all that rich flavor like little sponges of joy. Definitely a cozy, communal meal that hits the spot--and perfect for foodies who like to play with their food just a little!

Yelp
Food was consistently bad all around. Rice was wet and had an ant crawl out of it. Small condiment bar, but has the standard stuff. Meat was stuck together, quality is just okay. Veggie combo isn't worth it either. The bowl used has a false bottom and it wasn't filled to the top. Everything is disappointing for what they charge. Skip this and go to KPot. You'll save money and quality there is better. Staff are friendly but aren't helpful with the menu and can't tell you which meat is which.

Yelp
This is my first hotspot experience. We ordered the chongquing superior spicy broth and tomato broth. We went with ala carte based on chef recommendation instead of cheaper all you can eat option. Glad we did because we were able to mix and match a lot. We also had a former Chef and a person of Chinese heritage in our group which was very helpful. Recommendation: don't miss the lamb. Cooks faster than beef. Parking: Roadside. Across the street. Behind corner 17 a public big lot.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service. Flavors were impeccable, and sauce bar was a nice touch! Looking forward to coming again!

Yelp
First time eating hotpot in STL and let me just say it was FANTASTIC. My friends and I went to split the tab and we tried a variety of different items so by the time we left we were STUFFED. All the ingredients tasted delicious and the two broths we got with our meal was excellent. The vibe inside was very chill, they played a variety of calm music and the whole interior was clean and inviting. Service is pretty hands off and we had no problem order for ourselves. All around, everything was tasty- and our group had a great time! Thank you

Yelp
This was my first visit but will certainly not be not my last! The Pad Thai (zero spice with chicken) was absolutely outstanding! I am craving it again, and it's only been 24 hours since I had it! Prompt, friendly service as well. Absolutely outstanding meal! xoxo

Yelp
If you need to park, there is free 4hr parking catty corner, behind the building. I wasn't sure what to expect based on mixed reviews, but chose this hot pot place over the AYCE option due to more options seen in photos. Heads up, portions are huge, and I didn't know this. One meat portion is probably at least 10oz of protein. The tofu was an entire block of it, the cabbage was almost an entire head of small Napa cabbage.. I ordered based off of reviews and it was way too much food. Sauce bar is limited.... They had a couple of sauce tutorials above the sauces, one of which had white vinegar as a mix in... except, there was no vinegar available at all--which is a must for me when I make a sauce. You order everything online through your phone, which is why there aren't any menu photos on Yelp to reference before dining. If there was a free broth option, I wasn't offered this. The cheapest broth is a tomato/herbal combo for 9.99. I wanted the schezuan/herbal but that broth alone was 16.99$. YEP YOU READ THAT RIGHT. So I got the cheapest option. I'm not sure if it's maybe because I just am not a fan of tomato broth... I've never had it before, but I usually love tomato... this broth was inedible. It tasted like a metallic tomato paste.... Service was very good and attentive. And the ambiance is very cute. It's cozy, the decor is warm, it's perfect for a chill date night spot. AYCE places are more chaotic, you can get more dressed up for this and do this on a nice date, versus a casual eat at an AYCE. I'll attach my receipt in here for transparency for cost... although with what I ordered, could have easy fed two people... this place was expensive for one. With tip and tax, it came out to almost 60$. They can put your left overs to go. Not sure how this works with piping hot broth, maybe soup containers?? But if you're paying this much on broth, you should take it home...

Yelp
The cute spot opened up on the loop and was always pretty busy. I went one evening with some friends for the all you can eat deal, but the soups were pretty bland and while the meats were decent in the beginning, they slowly declined in quality and took longer and longer to come out every time we ordered. We used the sauce bar to spice up the soups, but it only improved it a little. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're coming here for a deal, but I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
Went with family and the food was so delicious we left stuffed and fully satisfied! Such a great array and selection of meats, vegetables, seafood options, noodle sides, and complimentary sauces! It's so so good that we had to take some home cause it was so delicious. Our server was very nice, patient, and informative, friendly and helpful. We loved the look of the place too, very mellow with nice music. I would come back again and again and again. Value for the bento box is good too, $20 a person!

Yelp
This is a neat little spot located in the delmar loop. I have never been to a hotpot type of restaurant, but I was happy that the person I came with was down for a new adventure. When we arrived we didn't have to wait long and was seated immediately. Our waitress did a good job in explaining how things work here after finding out this was our first time being here. We ordered the dinner for two. We settled on chicken as our protein, veggies that included the mushroom, shrimp, and some additional things at the sauce bar to spice our pot up a bit. We ended up getting the spicy broth and another savory broth( can't remember the name). The wait staff at this place is really attentive and helpful in explaining the process. Oh, how things work here. They give you water but we also ordered two sprites as well. We were amazed at how much chicken this place gives you. I mean, who doesn't love chicken? If you're hesitant about trying this place, I would recommend it. As always, until next time...

Yelp
My first experience with hot pot. I went with a friend who is experienced. She said it was good but the quality of ingredients was not worth the price. For my first experience it was good. The traditional broth was good and the vegetarian spicy was VERY spicy once it boiled down. It was very good to start. We did add scallops, more corn, and lotus root to our starting pot. Our server was very good but also very busy. She was alone in the front of house. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. No table would accommodate more than 6 people. The scallops were not a good add to the pot, don't bother. The sauce bar was fun and added some good flavors to your meal. The mushrooms were amazing! We recommend those with glass noodles. For a first it wasn't bad and it opened my eyes to trying more.

Yelp
I'm not sure what the bad reviews are because this place is freaking bomb. My husband and I have already been twice and literally suggest it every time some of our friends want to grab dinner. It's so good. We've tried a few different hot pot places in the area and this is hands down the best. We will be back over and over. It's super clean in there, the bathrooms are kept up, and you don't smell like it when you leave (haha). The ordering process is unique but once you get the hang of it, it's super easy. The prices are honestly great since you're splitting everything. The meat is all super high quality. All the veggies seem super fresh. We LOVE the sauce bar so we can cater it to exactly what we like. We have not had a bad experience. This place is fantastic.

Yelp
Went on a date here and it was amazing! We'd never been to hot pot before and our server was very patient and explained everything to us in detail. All the food was so so so good and we will be coming back!!

Yelp
I have never had hot pot and my friend took me to umami to try it. Everything came out pretty fast. The menus break it down well for beginners into steps if you've never been. My friend had gone before which made it really easy to figure everything out. The food was sooo good. And they did a good job of checking on us. The place is really nice and was a welcoming environment. I would go back!

Yelp
I was excited to try my first hotpot at Umami after seeing videos on social media. Overall I thought it was a great experience and would definitely return. Tried: mushroom broth and soy sauce based broth. We did the one-meter beef in the soy sauce based broth and crab sticks and shrimp balls in the mushroom broth. It was great having some of both. Loved: the variety and being able to customize our soups Liked: the decor and the setup, just wish it was cleaner and possibly organized a little better. Lots of holders and trays, but seems a little disorganized Disliked: we wish there was more of a quick lesson on what they recommend for newbies like us!

Yelp
I've been a few times now and I love this place!! The servers mean super well even if it's busy! I've dropped in during slow and busy times and for both the food has been super tasty and consistent. I usually just go for the bento options, the display spreads are nice but the bentos have plenty of meat. I prefer it when it starts to quiet down a lot because you get to notice all the decor. If its your first hotpot experience I suggest going for the most popular broths. The udon or ramyun really compliment all the meat and veggies. Don't be afraid to ask for help either! They've been super helpful!

Yelp
I'm really quite surprised at the other reviews about this place. I'm glad I did not look at the reviews prior to coming When we arrived we were immediately attended to with kind and courteous service. Our food came out faster than I anticipated and I was not disappointed in the least. I would say the fish cakes with roe were my favorite. The background music was welcoming and the place was filling with happy folks. Would highly recommend. (This is a duplicate of my other review. I had lost this original account until today!)

Yelp
Disclaimer that this was my first ever hot pot experience and I had an amazing time. The restaurant is cute and bright. Seating was comfortable and not cramped. Our server was wonderful - attentive but not looming over us or anything. He was happy to answer questions. As a vegetarian, I normally can't do hot pot, or if I can, I'm suspicious because there's only 1 broth option. There were multiple options here which I was super excited about. The double sided pot was awesome so that my friends could get a meat-based broth and I got a vegetarian mushroom and herb broth. It was so flavorful. Between the 4 of us, we ordered a lot of different things to try. I was impressed by the veggie selection, mushroom selection and tofu selection. Again, normally I'm stuck with a basic shitake mushroom with broccoli but they had taro, cabbage, radish, carrot, 4 types of mushrooms, 3 types of tofu, and more. It was very satisfying. They also had multiple noodle options and complimentary ice cream for dessert. It was a great meal. They even gave me a fork because I'm not a great chopstick user. There was also a complimentary sauce station with lots of options including vegetarian oyster which again, super pumped about. I do agree with previous reviewers that the cost was pretty high. For 4 people, our total turned out to be $120 but we are a group of EATERS so an average group of 4 would probably spend more like $90-100. I thought the cost was worth it but I can see why people might be put off by the broth cost if other hot pot places have broth for free or cheaper and all-you-can-eat options.

Yelp
Came where with some girlfriends on a Wednesday night and there was a decent amount on people but we were seated right away. The AC was not strong so it was a bit toasty, especially with it being 80° outside. This restaurant is located in the old Snow Factory next door to Kung Fu Tea. The atmosphere is nice but it is a little tight in there. You scan a QR code and place your order. Our broth came out right away and everything else followed. Our waitress was super nice and helpful and kept our water glasses full. A lot of the sauces at the station were empty and never refilled. We ordered the spicy broth and mushroom broth and both had great flavor. The portions are pretty small and pricey. Especially for the ramen. Not great for a large group.

Yelp
While having my boss in town we wanted to try something different and this place was the spot ! So many choices and yes you come out feeling full. The staff was so friendly and helpful with our choices. The tables are a little too close to another but the staff made sure they kept an empty table in between each party. It does get loud but friendly.

Yelp
First visit & our server was outstanding explaining everything to us. She also checked up on us often. So glad to have tried something new. Got the spicy broth...it was spicy. Thanks cleared up my sinuses. Wont be the last visit!

Yelp
The food was really good, you order on your phone and they bring it out to your table. The service is pretty hands off, which I like. If you need anything just ask and they will help you. As a vegetarian, they were very accommodating. They have broths that are vegetarian and vegan friendly which is hard to find. The sauce station is also nice, there are recommendations on what to mix together. Great new spot!
google avatar

Madhura J.

Yelp
Excellent hotpot experience. We ordered a yin and yang hotpot with spicy broth on one side and a tomato broth on the other side. Both broths were yummy and we were able to place our order online. The seafood , tofu and veggies we ordered were excellent . The drinks were delicious as well . There is a complimentary condiment and sauce station for making your own dipping sauce. The server who brought the food also gave us great suggestions. Ambience is brightly lit and very cute. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
This was the first time I had ever experienced a hotpot restaurant, my 11 year old granddaughter wanted to try it so we visited on an early Friday evening, the place was very clean and bright. The waiter was amazing, we tried a variety of meats and everything was fantastic! She loved it as well, we will definitely be going back on our next visit to St Louis!

Yelp
Ambiance Relatively small to mid size restaurant in the Delmar Loop. Not a lot of decor. Had a clean and simple aesthetic. Good air conditioning when we went on a hot summer day. Service Got there about 5min after open. Was greeted immediately and asked if we wanted to sit next to each other or across. Server during the meal was attentive and answered our question. Food Overall, it was good. I wouldn't say anything about it WOW our socks off. We got the Meal for Two special. The broth was good but didn't have any major distinct flavors. The two we picked were the Super Spicy and Mushroom Broth. For our protein we got cut meats and meatballs. Then choose the vegetable delight with ramen and udon. Out of everything we got, I wouldn't recommend the udon. I really enjoyed the ramen noodles. Definitely must eat this with a sauce or else there won't be a lot of flavor with your food. A note about there sauce station, some of there recommended mixes didn't have all the ingredients on the station so I had to improvised. We made a really good Miso Sesame Sauce. I would say, it is a good experience and the food was fine. This was our second time having hot pot so the experience was only compared to our first. Last thing I would note is the price was a little more expensive for what you get after the extras.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately, it sucked. The service was horrible and definitely not worth my or your time. The place was empty when we arrived and was told the wait would be 20 minutes since they didn't have enough servers. Ok, fine, we walked around the neighborhood and when we came back, place was half-filled with people chowing down. We came to find that this restaurant subscribes to online ordering so wtf couldn't we have sat earlier? Btw, using toast or whatever QR code to order is annoying. No one likes it. If you're having trouble w staff, pay a higher wage. Anyways, we ordered a bunch of things, pretty much everything except for the tripe. 30 minutes passed since we put in our order and finally we were able to flag down someone to check on our order and the kitchen lost it. No real apology or care. For the actual food, you could really make it at home for a quarter less. Presentation was a bit on the mediocre side. We got a bunch of the veggies and fish cakes. For real protein, we ordered the meter board of meat and that arrived with the pomp of a deflated balloon. The rolled pieces of meat were spaced so wide apart you could race hot wheels between them. LOL. They ran out of chicken, but I have a feeling we didn't miss out. The condiment station was a mess. There was no upkeep and when I asked about replacing some of the empty items, i was answered w blank stares. Ok...... HIGHLIGHT though. I actually saw a few of the local "food influencers" dining with us, which was a bit amusing to remember their actual dining reaction and experience versus what they collab-posted on Instagram. LOL. Sad bunch. Really, you are better eating across the street at Corner 17. They've got similar and better like the spicy boiled fish FTW!

Alondra B.

Yelp
Food was TERRIBLE!!! No flavor! Very underwhelming experience!! Vegetables were gross they tastes like fake food and very random. Overall weird experience. Very expensive for very little food given. Fish balls were the cheap option. I do NOT recommend

Yelp
***Updated review - after I wrote this previous review, the restaurant wrote back a nice apology about their bad service early today at 1:05PM (4/15/2024) on Google review. But a few hours later, they didn't want to accept the fact that they provided bad service and wrote a different response to put a blame on me. Kid's tantrum whether it was there or not should not have affected their standards of service. We waited almost an hour for our food to be served without spoons and it's a hotpot place???Any young kids would cry if they were hungry, they saw food in front of them and they couldn't eat without utensils... or didn't have water to drink. How this restaurant responded to my honest review said a lot about this new business. I guess family with young kids are not welcomed here. AVOID, MOMS! We would not recommend this restaurant at all! *** Original Review I was so excited to try a new hot pot place in the Loop. However, I was pretty disappointed at our dining experience here today. We arrived 5 minutes after their opening time so we got a table right away. Soon enough they stopped taking customers due to being short staffed. We waited other 20 minutes before somebody came saying she was our waitress and she would came back with water. Then, she came back with 3 waters while we had 5 people. Because we ordered through a QR code so nobody came to check on us if we needed anything. We waited another 10 minutes before we were able to ask another waitress for the missing waters. We waited for a while before the food came out. There were no spoon or napkins on the table and again....we had to ask for it. And we waited more than 15 minutes to get our spoons. I felt so bad for asking for stuffs a few times but at the same time my kids couldn't eat without spoon. It's just so frustrating that we didn't have any server come checking on us. Also, the music here was terrible... lol About food wise, we chose the Yin Yang Pot which allowed you to choose both spicy and non-spicy broth in the same pot. I got non spicy the Savory Mushroom and Herb and Imperial Golden Chicken Broth since we dined with kids. Both of the broth were tasty but they didn't refill the broth midway. With my previous experience with hotpot, regardless AYCE or a la carte the broth was always refilled midway. They have a small dipping sauce booth with some simple recipes on how to make the dipping sauces which was pretty cool. For meat, we got the One Meter Meat Lover's Platter ($15.95) for 9 pieces of beef. For seafood, we got the Shrimp Jumbo ($7.50) for 5 small shrimps. For noodles, we got the Hotpot ramyun ($3.95) for 1 pack of instant noodles... Overall, we left hungry and got to take the kids to somewhere else to eat after.

Yelp
I love this place. I keep coming back because the workers are very warming. The food is fresh and soo delicious. The atmosphere and music goes well with dinner. I never have a bad time when I come.

Yelp
Was a pretty decent hot pot experience, my first one in Saint Louis. We got two broths - the Spicy authentic broth and another sweeter one, Sukiyaki. Spicy one was Szechuan flavored, and after a while the spice definitely adds up. We did not order the meal for 2 deal because we just wanted meat and a few veggies and not too many of the sides and I think that was a good decision. We got the meat platter and the bento style eye of round. The sliced beef on the meat platter was my favorite and there was a large amount. The eye of round was okay in my opinion. We also got Napa cabbage and mushrooms. Mushrooms were fire. But the Napa cabbage pieces were so big it was hard to cook/eat them because they would drip everywhere - wish they were cut in half. We also got the ramen noodles which were a great add! Sauce bar was fully stocked and the best part of it all!! Love a good sauce. Ambiance was good. The leg space is a bit tight the way the tables are set up but good vibes. I did think it was a bit expensive for what we were getting. I also wish they had rice. Would love to see more broth flavors and menu options for mixing and matching veggies with meat!
google avatar

LaShaye G.

Yelp
I just couldn't vibe with it. The flavors did not match the price! I was so excited to have hot pot but the soups were bland! They had sauces to put in the soup but the sauce serving station (kinda buffet style) was so filthy and ran through that I didn't feel comfortable dealing with it. It was also rather busy in there and the cleaning inbetween guests was half done right. The floors were dirty and also filth and food residue from the customers of the day was caked up on the side of the hot pot burner. I just couldn't get with it. I just was not impressed at all.

Yelp
Super happy that a hotpot place finally opened in STL! I've been twice now and they were very different experiences. The first time - service was super slow, food came out slow, the ordering system wasn't working so we put our order in but the kitchen didn't receive it so we waited for hours to find out they didn't get it even after checking with the waitress, and sauce station was nearly empty. Second time - everything was so much faster and smoother, sauce station was filled, food came out quickly. They had more servers on the floor too so that helped. Ordering system was also fixed the second time. Expect to spend about at least $100 (that's about how much we spent for 2 people but also dependent on what things you order). Place is very aesthetic and clean. Wouldn't be great for big groups of people as the tables are quite small. Street parking or parking lot across the street available.

Yelp
Food was so good. Servers were pretty quick even when it git busy for dinner. You can tell the place is new and it had a good vibe.

Yelp
My partner and I had been wanting to go to this place since it opened because we love hot pot. The space is nice and there's lots of tables. It can be a little tight in terms of legroom. We've only ever had hot pot at home, so this was the first time trying hot pot at a restaurant so can't compare it really but I would say that the food was pretty OK. We tried the mushroom and herb broth, which wasn't that flavorful. They do have a self-serve sauce station which was nice but not all of the toppings that they had listed. Were there you order on your phone which is super convenient because you can order more throughout your meal and they brought out our items pretty quickly, which was nice! The service at the restaurant was good. However, we've had trouble getting a table. It seems like they don't have a formal reservation system which is fine but I think it's something they should think about. Also might be a good idea to have a waiting list at the host in the front. We had to suggest that they take our number and call us when a table was ready

Yelp
Wanted to try this place out, but overall it fell flat. The service was not good and slow. The food was alright, but could've been better. The sauce bar was messy and empty. The location and environment were cute.

Yelp
Food was a 10/10! For service you do the ordering from a QR code provided on the table so it was fast and on the spot. It's a small location but it has its charm! My favorite hotpot location ! It's a very nice, different experience from a typical hotpot restaurant!

Yelp
Fun dinner! The spicy broth and Japanese style broth were my favorite. I could go without the chicken one in the future. We pretty much ordered 4 broths, 3 orders of meat, 3 different noodles, and all the combo items + drinks and it came out to 33$ per person which I think is a pretty good price for all the food we got and experience. Service was good. There was a free sauce bar.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere all the people that work are extremely respectable and courteous. The food was great. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I hope they figure it out. Went with family the second weekend they were open. I can only give them the benefit of the doubt so much. No one picked up the phone prior to us coming down. When we got there, we were told it was a two hour wait. Bummer. It was a Friday night, it looked crowded, I get it. We wound up putting ourselves on the list for Corner 17 across the street. Just before our number was called across the street, we decided to try Umami again and, it was a miracle, the hostess said that the next table was going to be ours. There were actually 4 tables open and filthy. It took staff 20 minutes to clear the tables off. Nobody had any sense of urgency. We finally get seated. No one bothered to explain how anything worked. This was our first hot pot adventure. There was a QR code on the table. We had to figure out that is how you access the menu. We started ordering things. Had to call a waitress over to just get water. The raw meat came out before we had any forks or plates. When I asked how this all worked the waitress said, quote, "I don't know, I've never done this before." I don't know if they were understaffed or what but I got heated when we were completely ignored even when we tried to flag down the one waitress who seemed to be running the whole dining room. Every once in a while you'd see someone come from the back kitchen, walk around, provide zero backup for any of the employees in the dining room, and then disappear again. The "sauce bar" was a disaster. Messy. Empty vessels. And the way they designed it was the dumbest thing I've ever seen. They sneeze guard glass was so close to where you spoon the sauce, you couldn't reach to the back sauces without the spoon hitting the bottom of the glass and spilling. I'm sure if we were told how everything worked we would have had a better time. Overall, poor experience. Never again.

Yelp
Probably the best hot pot place I've tried in STL. Clean, good price, variety, friendly staff. Great experience.

Yelp
It's an amazing restaurant. My first hotpot experience, they have so many options on the menu. We ordered a course for two. It's really good deal for me and my bf. The interior design just doesn't look like something we have on the loop. It was very beautiful. It felts little crowded when it was busy. But overall all it was great. The service was pretty decent. Will go again

Yelp
The restaurant is intimate but a little too crammed for me. It's also a little pricey for my liking. The staff was really nice but I've just had better HotPot experiences.

Yelp
First of all I'm glad this hot pot restaurant is in the Loop... I look forward to others' comments on it... But I can't believe they're the ones asking for reviews... From a few to over 50 people overnight... Very hypocritical Don't Trust Google Reviews

Yelp
The food was delicious! Very generous portions for a decent price. They recently updated their menu which was a huge improvement compared to when they first started. I no longer live in STL, but ever time I'm back to visit I ALWAYS make a stop at Umami Seasons best hotpot in St. Louis!!

Yelp
The food was fresh and phenomenal! The service was super, and they were so warm and welcoming.

Yelp
Went back a second time, this time a Saturday evening and it was fairly busy. Service was solid, our waiter checked in on us multiple times. They've modified their menu (they now have physical ones) but you still order from a phone. The quality and taste of everything is still good and they've added to their a la carte selections and added some specials (AYCE happy hour?!). Definitely coming back. For those unafraid of spice, the chongqing butter broth is A+.
