Ume Asian Cuisine

Ume is a cool, wide open Asian fusion restaurant with one happening bar scene. It's a the heart of Allentown's downtown and is a great spot to launch one's evening. Service seems to be a team effort and my girlfriend and I were happy. The place was busy on a Tuesday night, but we never felt abandoned and our food arrived right when we needed it to do so. My girlfriend order the chicken teriyaki and a mango martini — she loved both. The chicken was tender, hot, and must have taken half the dish home. I enjoyed their sake flight (if the sake wasn't from Sango Kura in Delaware Gap, I'd be shocked). The sake was amazing — especially the taru option, which is naturally cedar flavored. The yellowtail and jalapeno appetizer was wonderful, with thick, fresh cuts of fish. I also enjoyed two of their signature rolls as well as salmon roe sushi. We look forward to returning. I cannot to try their sushi and sashimi platter, which is the real mark of a quality sushi bar. So this rating may go higher.

Everything about this restaurant is fab! From the moment we walked in the door, ate, to leaving—we had an amazing experience. The service was beyond reproach, food was exceptional—the recommendation of the Dragon Roll was SPOT ON! The amount of raw sushi inside and out was absolutely delicious. Each dish we had was beautifully prepared and delicious. On top of the food and service, everyone within the restaurant were beyond friendly and kind. Not only to us, but we could see it at each interaction in the restaurant. It’s clearly a core value within Ume to provide exceptional experience and ensure you leave happy. We cannot wait to come back—this is a true gem of the area!

Five stars all around! This is our second time here and we absolutely loved it both times. Food is amazing, everything is fresh! Prices are good for the area, lunch or dinner. Plus our server, Alex is great!

I've only been there once. I liked the food, and the drinks have a nice presentation. The only bad thing is that the lady gave me the check without me asking for it, and it felt like they were kicking me out of the place.

I had the pleasure of trying Ume tonight and my experience was absolutely wonderful! The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had a great atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly. FOOD: The skewers were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Schezuan dumplings had the right amount of spice. We got the "Sushi Mix" combo and it was perfect to share for 2 people. The sushi was very fresh and beautifully decorated. The peppered steak entree was SOOOOO good that I could not stop raving about it. I would 1000% come back and try other dishes on the menu!

OMG!!!! Fantastic! The service was great! They also have parking in the back. The pricing is very affordable. The seasoning of the food was on point. The meat and shrimp were very tender. I ordered the Four Seasons with an egg roll and a couple of my friends order the Shrimp/peppers and Steak/peppers. Their Mango Bubble Tea 🧋 is THE BEST! I ordered 2! One for Lunch and one to go. Definitely would recommend! Hope they stay for a long time!

What an excellent addition to this area! The best Asian food I have had in years, everything is top quality and tastes amazing!! The sushi is the absolute best in the whole of allentown and the decor is sophisticated and elegant. You will not be disappointed in this restaurants menu, atmosphere, or price at all!!

Way too sweet. I give it a 3 star because my wife says that the food she got from there before was fantastic. So I might have ordered the wrong dish - beef with veggies in garlic sauce that was very sweet and just disgusting. The place looks very nice. I'll not go back.

Attended their wine and dine last nite... all I can say it was amazing! Great vibe, amazing food, perfect service and the owners are great people! Can't wait to go back and start eating my way thru the menu!

Best Chinese in the Lehigh Valley. Great sushi and finally good General Tso. It seems like no one does General Tso right but they are perfect, every time. The staff is great and remember you when you come in, which is nice and doesn't happen at many places anymore. We love it here. It's a really nice atmosphere also and you can dress casual or it's nice for a nice night out also.

What a find in downtown Allentown! Food was excellent and fresh. Service was outstanding. Went one night after work and came back following night for all the healthy options.
