Ume Asian Cuisine

The food was delicious, the service was fast and very friendly. The guys at the bar had a great attitude and were super attentive. Something I really appreciated is that they treat you well even if you come in close to closing time, which means a lot. The place is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Ume is a cool, wide open Asian fusion restaurant with one happening bar scene. It's a the heart of Allentown's downtown and is a great spot to launch one's evening. Service seems to be a team effort and my girlfriend and I were happy. The place was busy on a Tuesday night, but we never felt abandoned and our food arrived right when we needed it to do so. My girlfriend order the chicken teriyaki and a mango martini — she loved both. The chicken was tender, hot, and must have taken half the dish home. I enjoyed their sake flight (if the sake wasn't from Sango Kura in Delaware Gap, I'd be shocked). The sake was amazing — especially the taru option, which is naturally cedar flavored. The yellowtail and jalapeno appetizer was wonderful, with thick, fresh cuts of fish. I also enjoyed two of their signature rolls as well as salmon roe sushi. We look forward to returning. I cannot to try their sushi and sashimi platter, which is the real mark of a quality sushi bar. So this rating may go higher.

Located in downtown Allentown, Ume is walkable from the many surrounding office buildings. Food delivers beyond expectations - not greasy or overly salted. Polite, prompt attentive staff make this a lunch hour destination. The choices of Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes will please most palates.

I had the pleasure of trying Ume tonight and my experience was absolutely wonderful! The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had a great atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly. FOOD: The skewers were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Schezuan dumplings had the right amount of spice. We got the "Sushi Mix" combo and it was perfect to share for 2 people. The sushi was very fresh and beautifully decorated. The peppered steak entree was SOOOOO good that I could not stop raving about it. I would 1000% come back and try other dishes on the menu!

OMG!!!! Fantastic! The service was great! They also have parking in the back. The pricing is very affordable. The seasoning of the food was on point. The meat and shrimp were very tender. I ordered the Four Seasons with an egg roll and a couple of my friends order the Shrimp/peppers and Steak/peppers. Their Mango Bubble Tea 🧋 is THE BEST! I ordered 2! One for Lunch and one to go. Definitely would recommend! Hope they stay for a long time!

We were actually parking in town to go to a different restaurant but saw this place and decided to give it a try. I'm SO glad we did!! Everyone there was really friendly, and the food was so fresh and delicious! We ordered a few different things to try, and we were not disappointed. The chef recommended the Szechwan dumplings- the sauce was not spicy but "warm" and so very flavorful! Delicious! I can't wait to try more the next time we go.

The food is good, but a bit expensive. Service is slow... one waiter for all the tables. We also noticed they were nicer to other people, probably regular customers. It was our first time there, and next time I'll order the same food through DoorDash from the comfort of my home.. Just a little too boring!

What an excellent addition to this area! The best Asian food I have had in years, everything is top quality and tastes amazing!! The sushi is the absolute best in the whole of allentown and the decor is sophisticated and elegant. You will not be disappointed in this restaurants menu, atmosphere, or price at all!!

The food, the service and our waiter Alex was amazing !!!! Would absolutely recommend!!!

Food was great. Our server Alex was awesome, attentive, knowledgeable, fun and funny. Pricing is great! Location is great! Family friendly and family owned. I would recommend to anyone. You can't go wrong with Asian food ever! I had the beef and scallops w/ garlic sauce and wife rice and my wife had the beef with garlic sauce. Yum ! I will return. Thx guys!

Super friendly staff. Something on the menu for all. Sushi was delicious. And the kids loved their meals (general tso, pad thai, fried rice, sushi roll, & steam buns).

This was a SPECTACULAR sushi/sashimi experience. Super attentive, very nice staff and EXCELLENT rolls and sashimi. The rolls were loaded with fish and a thin layer of rice. The sashimi was delicately flavored very distinct in taste and texture. Def fresh. I can't wait to go back!!!

Attended their wine and dine last nite... all I can say it was amazing! Great vibe, amazing food, perfect service and the owners are great people! Can't wait to go back and start eating my way thru the menu!

Way too sweet. I give it a 3 star because my wife says that the food she got from there before was fantastic. So I might have ordered the wrong dish - beef with veggies in garlic sauce that was very sweet and just disgusting. The place looks very nice. I'll not go back.

Best Chinese in the Lehigh Valley. Great sushi and finally good General Tso. It seems like no one does General Tso right but they are perfect, every time. The staff is great and remember you when you come in, which is nice and doesn't happen at many places anymore. We love it here. It's a really nice atmosphere also and you can dress casual or it's nice for a nice night out also.

What a find in downtown Allentown! Food was excellent and fresh. Service was outstanding. Went one night after work and came back following night for all the healthy options.
