Delicious. Great food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Great service. This is a must try. We will definitely be back.

Google
This is a nice local sushi spot, not too far from the hotel we stayed at. We sat at the bar and watched them prepare the sushi, which is always fun. However, we ordered edamame as an appetizer, which didn't come out until after our rolls were already served up. The rolls are a bit on the small side and didn't stick together particularly well, so it got a little messy. However, it did taste very fresh and flavorful. Items that are gluten-free are notated on the menu, and they have gluten-free soy sauce if you ask for it.

Google
Absolutely love this place. I have not had a bad experience yet. The food is delicious and the service excellent.

Google
Chicken fried rice is top notch! First time I went, got multiple sushi rolls and chicken fried rice. Sushi was okay, but the chicken fried rice honestly was the best I’ve ever had. We ended up getting pick up from there of 3 orders of chicken fried rice to go about a week later.

Google
Good quality sushi, bento box had a nice variety and the love boat was enough to feed 3 of us!

Chris Warber

Google
Great atmosphere, the server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The fatty tuna was fantastic! My son and I have been going to all of the sushi spots in town. Hands down, this is the best. The sushi meat quality was excellent. The Spicy edamame is excellent, along with the calamari. The calamari came with a Wasabi aioli sauce that was amazing.

We went here for my boyfriend's birthday, and we both agreed that we love the aesthetics of the place. You get such a very good earthy vibe the staff is very friendly, the food is incredible and I tried the tried the Sake Mojito to drink it's so good! For appetizer, we tried Takoyaki again it was incredible. Since my boyfriend is a Naruto fan, we just had to try the Naruto inspired sushi and a salmon Teriyaki Bento box! The food is incredible well made, delicious fun place to eat definitely stop by the staff is incredible!

Google
Really enjoyed the food and service here! Sushi rolls were delicious and well made, love that they have bento boxes and other options for non-sushi lovers also. They even have a kids menu! Only thing that is worth noting is they have a small staff so expect wait times and food to take longer, I don’t recommend this location if you are looking for a quick dining option but if you have the time, it’s worth the wait!

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit!! The atmosphere was great. The sushi was awesome. I got the Wisconsin roll and it was super delicious. Great variety of rolls to choose from and even offer gluten-free options. The ramen, however, was just alright nothing too memorable but not bad either. If you're craving good sushi in a nice setting, this spot is worth checking out!

Yelp
I was really excited to try Umi Sushi, as it is right by my house. I was a little disappointed, it was fairly crowded inside, but my sushi was way too fishy. I love sushi and I love fish, I did get a to-go order so that could be why I didn't love it. Not sure if I'd try again.

Yelp
Great food and service. Will be back! Only complaint was they ran out of the beer we like but that's barely a complaint. Food came out fast and was delicious.

Chris B.

Yelp
Food...phenomenal, service...great, ambiance...relaxed, but fun. I come to Umi regularly, and I never leave disappointed. The food is always top notch. Hands down the best sushi in Green Bay!

Debbie M.

Yelp
Giving this place a 2nd/final try. But like 1st time, the dishes were just a little ..off.. from the way they should be prepared. It seems like the people preparing the food aren't familiar with the dishes and how they're supposed to taste. Beef tataki - served with a white sauce that seemed out of place. And meat seemed to be of low quality (tough, stringy, fatty). Couldn't finish the dish. Tempura shrimp & veggies - dipping sauce was more like teriyaki than a classic Tentsuyu sauce. The sauce overpowered the tempura. I'm giving an extra star because, while the food isn't authentic, some may like the dishes as they are. But I won't be back.

Yelp
Excellent sushi. Fresh ingredients, well made and tastefully plated. Visually appealing and very tasty.

Yelp
I work across the street from Umi and today i went there with my Fiancé. My experience was really good so i have to leave a review. A fantastic opportunity to eat delicious sushi in Green Bay. Food is prepared fresh and ingredients are bright and flavorful. Restaurant owner and staff is very friendly and conversation is great! Gyoza steamed Dumplings was one of the best I've had in a long time I would recommend it for that alone! Place has a nice ambiance and the feel of the restaurant is urban and contemporary. Overall a great spot to sit with someone and enjoy tasteful sushi.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, and great service, what else could you ask for? We have enjoyed it twice now, and each time was a delight. The miso soup is so good!
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance and decor a nice modern feel. The food was good and we enjoyed the nice quiet evening talking with our family. There were very few people in this Sunday evening. They seemed short wait staff as I only saw one waitress. She was nice but frazzled. There seemed enough people behind the bar and in the sushi prep station but wait time longer than should have been.

Yelp
I hate to give out one star reviews, but this is deserved based on my recent take out order. This was the worst sushi I have ever had. I tried three classic rolls, when I opened the bag there was a very fishy smell, like rotten fish. I still tried a bite or two and the fish was not fresh at all, just absolutely disgusting. It went right to the trash. GB does not have a lot of sushi restaurants, but the ones I've tried are vastly better than this one.

Yelp
My husband and I were finally able to come back here after quite a few months. Things really have changed. Atmosphere: The floor was really sticky in several places, and the bathrooms were not very clean. Service: They were pretty busy (lots of take out orders coming in and about 8 tables). They only had one busser, two waitstaff, and a hostess. Our waiter decided not to write down our order. In doing so, a maki roll was forgotten and one of my sushi orders was incorrect. It took 25 minutes to get one drink, and neither of our water glasses were filled the entire time even though they were both empty after the first 25 minutes. We asked specifically for the appetizer to be brought with the sushi entree, it was brought 20 minutes before. Food: The food was also not the same in quality. The rice wasn't fluffy on the sushi, it was overcooked/mushy, and it wasn't evenly distributed around the nori. One of the rolls was missing half of the ingredients that were listed in the menu description, and all of the rolls were unevenly cut with the ingredients varying drastically from piece to piece. For a bill over $50 (and that is $50+ with the missing roll not being on the bill) and that many issues, I don't think we will be making an effort to come back anytime soon.

Yelp
The best Sushi we have had since moving to Wisconsin! Thank you for making my girls birthday a great night!

Britt L.

Yelp
Really great service and delicious food. The ambiance is nice, but in my opinion go for the food and the great service. The prices are very reasonable as well.

Yelp
Service was nice, staff were prompt. I ordered for pickup, and it was ready promptly. Food was good, and well priced. Nice location, and atmosphere.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant on Christmas Eve around 2:30. The restaurant was dead. We were one of maybe 3 tables. Despite that though, the service wasn't good. Our server was a rare site. I have an avocado allergy so I ordered the Packer Roll with no avocado. When it arrived, they left the avocado out of the middle of the roll but still had it drapped over the top. When I tried to tell our server he insisted it had no avocado and walked away. By the time we saw our server again we were done eating everything but the roll I couldnt eat. Irritated I just asked for a box for the roll and gave it to my nephew who could actually eat it. The the bill came. Over $100 for two people no alcohol just one soda. I dont mind paying that much for good food and good service but this missed the mark by a lot. Thebonly reason I gave this two stars is because the food I could actually eat was decent. But I won't be coming back. We will stick with Sushi Lover. Better prices, better service and honestly better food.

Yelp
This place never disappoints, except for when it's unexpectedly closed. Often come here for lunch. The hibachi entrees are always super tasty. Their ginger dressing is some of the best I tasted. Their sushi is always super fresh and flavorful. My favorites for the lunch menu are the chicken hibachi with fried rice and the spicy jalapeño roll. Come to Umis lunch and you get the superior sushi experience for an affordable price. My go to in GB for the price, product, and no crowds. It's a best kept secret.

Maria F.

Yelp
I am honestly surprised to see any reviews under five stars. I have had so many good experiences at this restaurant. Both takeout and dine in staff is great. Food quality is great. Zero complaints.

Ari O.

Yelp
Overall had a terrible experience. The waitress was incredibly rude the entire time we were there. The restaurant wasn't busy, but she was acting like she didn't have time for us. We were asking questions and she would already be gone from the table and shouting answers from across the room - again, we were not done with questions about the menu. The entire time we were there she just kept rushing us. We honestly should've left before ordering. The food was mediocre at best, the sushi was not fresh, it's what you would get in a grocery store. The pork cutlet...was made of the essence of pork. As thin as a piece of paper.

Matthew H.

Yelp
We really liked this place. It was our first time here and they made us feel very welcome. We were asked if we needed help with an explanation of any of the rolls which was thoughtful and appreciated. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. The sushi was delicious and fresh! We will go again.

Brandon Y.

Yelp
The place was laid out really nice, the only problem I had was the food. Got their Umi Ramen, seemed like it'd be a good start for their ramen. It had to be the worst ramen I've had. Their egg was a poached egg unseasoned, broth was watery and flavorless (had to add soy sauce to my broth unfortunately), and I could taste the farm the pork came from. Service was good, but the ramen wasn't. Udon was the same thing. Unsure if I'd come back here for ramen or udon, but man was that disappointing. We left 10 mins after we got our food cause it was that disappointing.

Yelp
It is on the pricier side, but it is by far the best sushi place in Green Bay! We are so glad to have found our sushi hub. I was actually surprised but his place. They have the freshest fish, cut appropriately, and the plating was flawless. I have to mention, their miso soup is ridiculously delicious. It is how miso soup should be made! They also serve traditional sake, served hot. We love this place a lot and we will be coming back once we move to GB!

Yelp
I've ordered from Umi multiple times and have dined in a handful of times. Overall, their fish quality is very good and their lunch deal is awesome (option of two or three specified rolls and miso soup). Their sushi is lighter on the rice, you can see the seaweed clearly through the rice, which I like because I can eat more rolls and tend to watch my carb intake but for others, it might not be as filling so you'll spend more money. Keep that in mind when ordering the sushi portion is on the lighter side. As for appetizers I had the Agedashi and the Harumaki. Agedashi I find is a lot easier to eat when in bite sized pieces but at Umi they are served in large blocks which tend to make it harder to eat without the batter breaking apart and making a mess. The Harumaki was delicious and highly recommend, as for the Agedashi I'd skip it as it is harder to eat and really just makes a mess. Overall, I recommend dining in or take out as I have had a good experience with both.

Yelp
Stopped in late last Friday night with my husband for a quick dinner. I was not really in the mood for sushi so the poke bowl was my best option here while my husband ordered sushi. The server was friendly and I like the simple décor including the fun napkins. It took a bit of time for the food to come out but honestly it was worth it for the quality of food we were served. At $13 my poke bowl was worth every penny. It was layered with sushi rice in the bottom, multiple types of fish including sushi grade tuna, a delightful sauce and other toppings that I find it hard to describe. Just come in and try it because it is on the special menu and may not be around forever (although it should be!). I also saw they do ramen I am really tempted to come back and try that as well. I will come back for sure!

Yelp
I really liked the tuna rolls I got here! The portions were big and they were fresh! The waiter was very friendly and helpful!

Yelp
The sushi was really amazing. The portions were good. The service was good. The waiters were pretty quick about taking our orders and getting the food to us. I would highly recommend this place if your looking for sushi

Very clean and fresh. Everything tasted wonderful and great presentation. Visited on a friend's recommendation.

Yelp
The worst service I have ever had and will ever have. I went to take my children to a SUSHI restaurant for some SUSHI and when the waitress snarls at us to order and I get the "sushi deluxe" she says there's no sushi in it is just a roll and meat on top of some rice. I said ok and that I'll have one of those with the soup and then 2 soups for my girls... whatever then she interrupts me to again explain that there's no sushi and that they don't have sushi. I'm like we are here for sushi and she says no, that's not sushi it's nigiri (which is a type of sushi) at which point we left thinking they were out of sushi. We ended up calling to see and then placed an order for the same special on their menu with the description of sushi and they shorted us my miso soup but charged us for it. Don't take your kids and this place is better off closed down until they can act decent, how embarrassing that Id recommended it to my three daughters and made them excited to try their "sushi". Never again!

Zahin K.

Yelp
Finally some good quality sushi in Wisconsin. I'm coming for work from California and every hyped up sushi spot that I tried was horrible . The fish was so fresh and absolutely delicious . I have a star less because I hated the customer service. The girl would just not smile lol, so I didn't bother tipping her. But I'd still go back for the sushi.
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
Ordered from eat street. Can't say I'll ever be eating from here again. The calamari was the worst I ever had, if you can even call it that. The sushi was meh. Didn't have much flavor. Just not the best.

S V.

Yelp
Review on a take out order. Nice workers. Food is below average for sushi which is made worse with the cost. Not the freshest ingredients, sushi rice doesn't taste the best, and relies heavily on the sauces. Best way I can describe the sushi here is similar to grocery store sushi at 2-3x the price.

Tina G.

Yelp
We really liked it here, the service was very good. The Rolls were beautiful and tasty and the sashimi was top notch fresh,... I am only giving 4 stars as the portions for sashimi were minimal. I understand prices have gone up and no problem with that, but a normal size serving of of it is expected and should be served...

Yelp
All of the vegetables in the vegetable roll were extremely unique and delicious tasting. That one was by far my fav! The service was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is the best sushi place around! I cannot believe Island sushi has a better rating than Umi! The sushi quality and atmosphere are far superior at Umi. Do yourself a favor and order the Holiday roll :)

Yelp
My wife and I visited Uni Sushi for the first time on Saturday, April 30, 2022 on the recommendation of a friend. We found the restaurant's location in the retail development sprawl of suburban Green Bay uninspired but, longing to find something apart from the vast monotony of cookie cutter chain restaurants, we gave this establishment a try. We left very disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant I observed the front door glass hazy with many layers of smeared and smudge hand and finger prints. Though overcast daylight outside, the large windows were covered with closed blinds and the interior was poorly lit. As we entered there appeared to be more staff than customers. Despite the abundance of staff, as the host lead us to our table I observed the surface of each table wore a dull film of visible smears as if washed with a dirty rag. The table where we were seated was no exception. The lack of cleanliness at our table inspired me to focus upon other aspects of restaurant sanitation and upkeep. Visiting the restroom I found the toilet and urinal were dirty. The room smelled of urine. The floor was distinctly sticky and dirty with shards of paper towel and toilet paper littered about. There was residue of a dried puddle of unknown substance in one corner of the room. The sink was not clean and the drain immediately backed up when the faucet was on. On a positive note there was ample hand soap in the automatic dispenser and the paper towel dispenser worked. Upon exiting the restroom I observed large oily spill stains on the hallway wall. Like the restroom the hallway floor was dirty and small pieces of dark colored debris were visible lining both sides of the floor where it met the walls. Returning to my table I continued scanning the interior space and, despite the low light, could see a dark film on the floor at the customer side of the sushi bar. Based on the standards of appearance restaurant management is comfortable showing its customers, I can only imagine what the level of food safety and cleanliness might be out of public view. The server was polite and professional. Our food and beverages were served with reasonable promptness. The food was distinctly bland and unremarkable. The soup and salad offered with my entrée was presented in plastic bowls pretending to be Japanese ceramics. Based on restaurant appearance, cleanliness and the lackluster presentation and taste of our food, prices are exorbitant. Find a better sushi restaurant.

Ila L.

Yelp
Amazing place love the service and don't get me started on the FOOD!!! The ambiance in there it is beautiful.

Yelp
I have been going to Umi for a while now and every time I've been greeted by the owners. I feel like we've become good friends. The food is a-mazing! The sushi is outstanding and the service is perfect. I can't say a bad word about it. Please try this place..you will also be amazed!

Scott C.

Yelp
So glad I gave Umi a second chance.  A friend invited me for lunch and was craving sushi.  My service was much better this time around. Our server was spot on from beginning to end. The one thing that surprised me at the end he didn't ask if there should be one or two bills and gave us each our own bill.  That's the way we did want it, but usually they will ask. I don't remember this from my last visit but they have a lunch special where you can get two rolls and soup or salad for $9 or three rolls and soup or salad for $12.  The selection of the rolls are basic but you still have about a dozen selections to choose from. I opted in the two rolls special and got the Spider Roll which is on their specialty rolls menu. I was very happy with my selection as all the rolls tasted great. I'm going to stick with my review stating there are plenty of other sushi places to go, but I would add Umi to my recommendation list.

Yelp
My wife and I were finally able to stop in for dinner after having this on our "go to" list for quite some time. We left happy, very happy. The menu is pretty standard sushi form the area, but I like the addition of some other Japanese cuisine. However, the flavor profiles on the rolls do differentiate the from the other places in town and it's something I really enjoyed. The quality of the fish was excellent, the rice had some actual flavor and was used sparingly, which I appreciated! On of the highlights wasn't even a roll or sashimi, but the squid salad which was absolutely wonderful. I'll go in just to order some squid salad and dumpling soup. They have a great location, the service was fast and courteous, and I love the fact they serve lunch.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Saturday night at about 6:30 and my girlfriend and I were one of maybe 8 people in the small establishment which was quiet and didn't really have a ton of atmosphere. We shrugged off lack of atmosphere and ordered our dinners. My girlfriend got the teriyaki beef plate while I opted for the spicy Krab jalapeño roll and a Holliday roll. The meals were both presented very nicely and were generous portions, however, they didn't wow with flavor or leave any kind of lasting impression. I think a lack of excitement is the overtone for this destination in Green Bay. It's tough for a restaurant to recover from a lack of atmosphere which sets the tone for the whole experience. I will certainly go back to either confirm this experience or determine if it was an outlier from the norm.

M M.

Yelp
We love Umi! Everything we have ordered, we have enjoyed and the service is always top notch.
google avatar

Mariah M.

Yelp
Came in on 10.30 around 4pm. Not busy- around 3 couples eating. Ordered Packers Roll, Holiday Roll, Cowboy Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Lobster Tempura Roll, Umi Roll and Ninja Roll. The only one we didn't like was the Umi Roll. The lettuce is weird in the Umi Roll. Loved the Cowboy and Packers Roll. This would be our second option for Sushi if Island Sushi wasn't open. Island Sushi is still the best. Sorry Umi, step up your game!

Jayden R.

Yelp
the food is amazing. everytime i order i get poke and the lobster tempura roll for sure. they follow instructions, the food is high quality, and the staff are very friendly and can hold a conversation. it's much better than their opposition the fish is high quality and fresh! you can really taste it. The rolls are prepared with neatness and love, no sloppy representation. and on certain rolls they even go out of their way to decorate the plates. If i order it for delivery the quality is no different! it comes prepared neatly and tastes fresh per usual and despite other sushi places who deliver they follow instructions every time. Definitely the best sushi spot in green bay and especially the best poke in the city. you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Not listing beer prices and charging $10 for a Sapporo is ridiculous! Beyond that, the sushi was average and the sauces were subpar. Pick a different spot.
google avatar

Bethany J.

Yelp
The sushi is really good, service was weird though. My boyfriend ordered a bottled bud light but waited forever each time for the waitress to even stop to ask if he wanted another, then she goes "you guys are kind of quiet so I didn't know", I'm not even sure what that meant but ok... we waited FOREVER for our rolls, they had two rollers and the restaurant was not packed or had a wait so I'm not sure if they need more people to make the rolls or what. The food is super good though so it's hard to decide if I'd actually go back to wait 2 hours just for sushi. The holiday roll is amazing !
google avatar

Yelp
There are several really good sushi houses in the greater Fox Valley area rivaling large city ones both in quality and in trendiness. But the proof is really in the menu and the creativeness of the sushi chefs themselves. There's where the differentiation really matters and that'where Umi Sushi shines so bright among the others. Opening less then a year ago, Yuefeng Lin, aka Freeman, and his wife Elynn Li have put together a cool looking sushi restaurant, modern in every way with slick sushi seating and comfortable booth and table areas. The feeling's comfortable and the look is creative but it's Freeman's unique, fresh rolls and sushi that are he real hit. The taste combinations are really amazing and the prices are good. If you want a drink that you can't believe is saki, but tastes awesome, checkout the custom drinks designed just for Umi. We drive all the way from Appleton just to enjoy Elynn and Freeman's food artistry and great dining environment.

Yelp
Some of the best in town when it comes to the chocolate mints they give you after the meal. The Sushi is pretty good but you can get unlimited sushi at sushi lover for what 2 rolls would cost you here. I recommend the godzilla roll and blazin roll but dont sleep on the teriyaki chicken if you are looking for a good deal.If you want to take some pictures to flex for the gram a little bit this place is great. The waitress was pretty cool The only complaint is the miso soup. It is absolutely disgusting and the 45 minute wait for the food. Overall most of the food was good, the pineapple juice was expensive and the service was good except for the waiting time. I would not choose this place over some of the other options in the area.

Yelp
Great Japanese foods!! Tried their special Umi Ramen for the first time. I don't think there is any Japanese ramen noodle in Green Bay Area. This is the first and it is surprisingly great! Absolutely loved it! The dancing eel is also delicious!

Yelp
Love Umi; lots of great yummy rolls. The service is great and cute location. My opinion it's the best new place in Green Bay for sushi! Try the sushi cake. Take out fantastic as we tried tonight.
