Ummi dee’s

Tried the place for the first time a few months back during Black Restaurant week and it was pretty good. I ordered the Salmon Cheesesteak, Sweet Potato Fries and a Strawberry Lemonade. I really liked the fact they used real salmon filets - they had a clear glass so I could see them cooking stuff when I came to pick up my food. The food was very filling but wasn't greasy or anything like that. Hoping to try some other items on the menu and suggest others go check them out.

First off the food is delicious. That's number one. I had the oxtail cheese steak, and yes it's good. Very filling. I couldn't even finish it all. The establishment was clean and the service was professional and friendly. I saw the owner of the establishment behind the grill cooking the cheese steaks with all the other cooks. I'm not sure why that was something I liked to see... but it was. Only thing I'm not a fan of is standing in the long line because everyone is running here to buy their delicious food. I have yet to try anything else on their menu aside from the cheesesteaks but I look forward to it.

I’m from Baltimore was in Philly for a bday celebration. Omw back home decided to stop for a bite The food was Flavorable, tasty, cheesy, fresh sub rolls, great customer service. I had oxtail sub ($30), salmon sub, seafood egg rolls ($10 comes in pairs [2]), 2 Lg strawberry lemonades ($4). Everything was sooo delicious. Total of $72 + tax

Ummi Dee's is a vibe!! The food is prepared fresh as you order. My Co-workers and I order regularly! Sometimes we order several dishes and share. Other times everyone orders their favorite dishes. Every dish has been tasty with each bite. My favorite is the Salmon egg rolls, cheese fries, and strawberry lemonade. The owner and staff are very nice and their goal is to please. Try it, you will not be disappointed!!

Food was Excellent! I actually drove from New Jersey for their famous Oxtail Egg Rolls but they wasn't on the menu no more... The Oxtail CheeseSteaks had an hour wait so I advise people to order on the phone or prepare to wait... It's worth it

I initially called to order ahead but was put on hold and the person never returned to the line. When I came in to order, the cashier took another order over the phone without asking me to wait, hold, give her a moment, nothing. I was there before the phone rang. I wanted to order a burger but the “burger bistro” place no longer sells burgers. Had the person came back to the line I could have saved myself a trip. Ordered the chicken cheesesteak instead. The steak was very wet with what looks like a cheese sauce. The menu stated I could pick what kind of cheese but I guess they picked for me. The wait time was very long. I visited the place a few weeks prior to this visit for the oxtail cheesesteak. I did not care for the steak. I’m not saying it was nasty. It just wasn’t for me but the roll did need to be gutted. I tasted the bread more than the steak. The wait time on this visit was not long. I found out on this visit they only take cash. That is not listed on their social media page.

If you stood in line in for a chicken sandwich anywhere and haven't tried Ummi Dee's chicken sandwich you should be ashamed!!!! This was the best sandwich I've had of any kind EVER!!!! Fried chicken w/pepper jack cheese and I added grilled shrimp on a brioche bun. SPEECHLESS!!! Go support! Food was fresh. Portions was crazy. Ppl were nice. Cant say enough. Pics do it no justice.

Tried this place for the 1st time this evening. I ordered an oxtail cheese steak..chicken cheese egg rolls, fries and lemonade lol 😂 I went there pretty hungry. My food was delish!! I ate most of the egg rolls in the car and half of the steak when I got home..best steak rolls I ever had…and the oxtail steak was sooo fire!! I recently moved to Delaware but I would be here everyday if I still lived in Philly….delicious food!

The oxtail cheese steak is AMAZING, but I had to knock off a star for how difficult it was to get it. My best friend and I drove over 200 miles (one way!) in a tropical storm to get this damn cheese steak. Was it worth it? Hell yeah! Was it a pain in the ass to get? Also, yes. The online menu was a little confusing because it did not show the main menu item we came for. We called the shop the night before our trip and they confirmed that they do sell them. We made our way up to Philly with the intention of grabbing two oxtail cheesesteaks as well as some of the other menu offerings. When we went to place our order though, we were extremely confused after the person behind the counter kept replying, "Nah, we don't have that" after literally everything we ordered. We were trying to figure out what to do next and how to salvage our trip, and mentioned that we had come all this way just to try the oxtail cheese steak. The girl behind the counter thought for a second and then said, "Okay, I got enough for ONE oxtail cheesesteak." Okay, so why not offer to sell us that one then? Were they trying to keep it for themselves or something? When we tried to order two, they said they were out; Not that they only had enough for one, but that they had NONE. Come on now... She then explained how the business is closed on Sunday and Monday so they try to clear out all of their inventory by Saturday. That doesn't make it any easier for the customers though, when you've got a full (but inaccurate) menu posted both online, and posted in the shop. I completely understand the dedication to upholding freshness standards, as well as the financial prudence of maintaining optimal inventory levels to minimize unnecessary food loss. However, it's important to balance that with managing customers expectations and still meeting demand. At this point, they're better served just going old school with a whiteboard or a chalkboard. Erase or cross out what you don't have, so customers won't try to order what you don't have. And either update that online menu, take it down completely, or at least add a caveat saying that it's not updated in real time and that the most accurate menu is available in the shop. Like I said earlier, the cheesesteak was WELL worth the drive. The oxtail was tender and so full of flavor. Seasoned perfectly. You didn't even need teeth to eat it. Even though we each only had half a cheesesteak, that half hit the spot! It was so filling. We just wish we had some to take home. I definitely recommend checking this spot out, but if you've got something in mind that you want to order, call ahead to make sure that they actually have it first. Better yet, just place your order while you have them on the phone. Save yourself the headache. Oh, and don't come in there on a Saturday expecting a full menu. You'll be sorely disappointed.

OXTAIL CHEESESTEAK I just heard about it on Friday and had to have it. $30 a sandwich BUT!! It was well worth the money and the drive to get it. Great customer service and experience all the way around.

Permanently close unexpectedly from instagram but there other places that sell beta cheesesteak and oxtails cheesesteak

Food is excellent! This place is takeout only. The salmon burger was so goo that I went back again for a 2nd and 3rd time. My only gripe is that sometimes the music is too loud. But I wasn't inside for long so not a big issue; I waited in my car until my food was ready. They cook the food fresh, for each order so expect to wait a bit. It's worth the wait.

Ordered dinner from Ummi Dee's off Door Dash last night and honestly had no expectation at all because Door Dash has messed up my last couple of orders BUT I was pleasantly surprised when I received my order. Let me start my saying all of the additional sauces were in the bag--I was shocked because places always forget. I requested no ice in my drink because I didn't want it to be watered down by the time it arrived, but they kindly provided me with an ice cup on the side so I can add at my leisure. The food was delicious, I added some jerk sauce to my salmon cheesesteak and my bf added sweet chili to his; both left us wanting more. The fries are usually good but we're a bit soggy due to the condensation but nonetheless I still demolished them. Safe to say, I've been a fan of Ummi Dee's for a few years now but haven't ordered from them in a while because I don't live in the area anymore. It's nice to see they are still going strong and still providing quality food, as I remembered. Thanks Ummi Dee's!!

Best turkey burger in town just order before hand everything is made fresh so there is a considerable wait

The food was really good although i had 2 oxtail cheesesteaks and cheese fries delivered to my apartment and was somehow charged 105$ the math wasn't mathing so i would recommend going into the store itself over ordering.

Burgers are good. call ahead to order. Parking - well you know how Philly gives it up. Being a friend have them go inside and pick up for you. The sweet potatoes fries are good. The chicken sandwich is fire! The Burger even better! Haven't tried the shakes but I hear really good things. Definitely worth a visit or two!

Went to try the oxtail cheesesteak....it took over an hour for me to get the 1 sandwich I ordered. Come to find out after 45 mins of waiting they ran out of rolls....where does that happen. The sandwich was $30. Did not eat sandwich until I arrived home only to find out that the peppers and onions that were supposed to be on the sandwich were nonexistent. Really TERRIBLE first impression. Needless to say I will NOT be going back to give them another chance.

Came in by chance... We was in town and was looking for a Salmon cheesesteak and this gem popped up!!! Watched them put slabs of salmon on the griddle I knew I was in the right place! The word was amazing and cooked with love!

I learned of Ummi Dee's while watching a segment on Channel 6 ABC News highlighting black-owned businesses. The next day, we ventured from Blue Bell to Philadelphia and are glad we did! The owner of this community-focused establishment was on point, she was professional, social and the culinary skills exhibited on the news segment were evident. The establishment is very clean including the food prep and cooking areas. We purchased the salmon sandwich and a turkey burger, both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We have told families and friends that this is a place to go for freshly made food, it was worth the drive and we will be back!

The salmon cheesesteak was amazing! It was light but very filling. The oxtail cheesesteak was very very good. Super pleased!

Nothing but good things to say about this place! 1. Excellent service both over the phone and when I walked I in to pick up my food. I called ahead to order and when I walked in, it was ready for pick up and the staff were friendly and pleasant 2. The establishment was clean and well-maintained! You can see that care is taken to make sure the kitchen area and the entrance is clean! 3. The most important part: the food was EXCELLENT! I got the salmon burger and sweet potato fries and I got all the sauces they offered. Salmon was cooked to perfection! Not over-done or dried out, but juicy and tasty! The sweet potato fries were great as well. The cinnamon and sugar sprinkle with the sauce was perfection! After picking up everything, my sister tells me I should've gotten the strawberry lemonade... I'll know for next time! Love this place, I'll be back!

The restaurant is disrespectful this is my second time that they fucked up my order I'm missing a milkshake, and cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on my burger And right after I placed my order I had talk to someone from the restaurant and they pacifically read everything that I put in the description so how the fuck did you miss a milkshake with my order... First time was a mistake but now this the second time You guys fucked up again I'm pissed off and upset and so my try to give me a you guys fucked up again I'm pissed off and upset and so my try to give me a $10 off My next meal why would I want to order from y'all again when you keep on fucking missing items with my food that's disrespectful I will never order from here again

A friend of mine referred my best friend and I to this establishment! The bistro was clean, the staff were polite and the food was amazing! My friend and I were told to get the salmon steak with spinach, fried onions & shrimp! She had the jerk and I had the teriyaki ... ! A must see! Will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

I must say I was very impressed with the quality of the food here. I ordered the Salmon cheesteak with broccoli and grilled shrimp it was incredible. Keep in mind the food is cooked fresh so be prepared to wait, this restaurant has a ton of potential but the customer service experience has to improve! Overall very good fresh food at Ummie dees.

Many thanks to yelp for recommending Ummi Dee's burger bistro. Place is great. Every single item that we have purchased was extra fresh and flavorful. Staff gets 5 stars, more if there were more stars available. Glad to see a place like this in this area.

The shrimp & salmon steaks are so good! The salmon and shrimp were both fresh and delicious. You can tell the cooks really took their time and crafted up this food. The fries are really good too, you can get waffle fries. The only downside to this place is the price. I got a foot long salmon steak with shrimp & fries. The total was $30. The food was great but It really put a dent in my pockets. $20 would've been a better price to me. But overall, i give this place a 8/10 & it's black owned

Wow wow wow!! Came here yesterday afternoon to try the infamous salmon cheesesteak. The service was excellent and quick! My friend and I split a salmon cheesesteak platter with waffle fries and it was def a good portion size. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly! Will def be returning to try some more items off the menu

Long wait dry burger the salmon was solid but not worth the wait just bad all around service but back to the burger for it to be gourmet just horribly dry and way over coooked the salmon just had way to much sauce on it idk for a first timer just a horrible experience

Ordered from Ummi Dees last night for the first time. The burgers and fries were AMAZING!!!! It was actually the kind of burger that you just look at after you bite it..you put it down and look at it...ITS THAT GOOD!! Thank you Ummi Dee!

I had the Salmon burger with the best damn sweet potato fries I have ever tasted.... and the sweet dipping sauce... OH MUH GAWD! Im a foodie... and it did everything for me...

I was looking forward to a good filling meal On July 4th since I did not feel Like any BBQs during Covid -19 So I saw this place on JL Jupiter's you tube channel and the food looked delicious. I'm from the uptown section and I figured I would give this place a try. NEVER AGAIN !!!! First I call my order in and I was told they were out of Turkey Burgers which is their specialty. Well Ok... so I ended up ordering the salmon cheesesteak with shrimp on it and an order of regular seasoned fries. Now mind you when I saw the salmon cheesesteak on you tube , it looked incredible. However when I received my order , it was a TOTALLY DIFFERENT story... they must have been fronting for JL Jupiter . First I was shocked because when I got my food she told me $ 25. 92!!!!!! Let me spell this out for you... TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS and NINETY TWO CENTS.... for a salmon cheesesteak and fries... No drink , no dessert, or nothing else with it..........now I want to support black business especially during covid but don't ROB me.... now onto the food........I got a salmon steak which was 70 percent packed with meat and four small shrimp the size of four silver quarters... they were not even good sized shrimp... I was also given a small handful of fries in a small styrofoam container which was the amount that you might give a seven year old child......... I am extremely pissed and feel Like I was just ripped off... Ummi Dees you gotta do better!! ...I am very disappointed. You don't have to worry about my business because this was the FIRST and LAST time I will support you. The upsell was crazy when I looked at my receipt...I love supporting black businesses but I will avoid this place...... the sandwich was pretty good but it is a total ripoff with the portions ...I was starving an hour later.... and 26 dollars poorer!!

Known for the burger but I had the salmon & shrimp bowl. Everything was fresh& cooked to perfection. It was enough food to have 2 meals, but it was so good I didn't stop eating until it was gone.

I'm in love! My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and from calling in our order, walking in, completing our purchase to completing our meal we were beyond impressed! The quality, the production time and the awesome customer service will have them keeping customers coming back. They have a customer in us forever! I even forgot to ask for the bacon on my Salmon BLT to be well-done and I didn't even need to-- they cooked it to perfection.

I've been eating salmon burgers all damn week! Omg! All I can say is I love u Ummi Dees's! Young, beautiful black women! I wish you nothing but success!
