I came into Un Amor with some friends on a Sunday morning for brunch and although there was a wait it was so worth it! The host was the sweetest and made sure we were taken care of in a timely manner. The ambiance is soft and modern, a great place for a date or to catch up with some friends. The food was also delicious!! I had the carne asada bowl and I ate it all in one sitting because I had to. Their coffee is great, the strawberry horchata was the favorite that we tried. I will be coming back :)

First time dining here! And I gotta say I LOVE IT! Service was great, our server daniel was very nice and helpful with menu items, I tried to do all his favorite items but I guess , I will save some for next time I come back and hopefully he will be our server! Food was 10/10 and the drinks 100/10! My favorite was the un amor espresso martini! And naked&famous LOVED IT!!I also recommended for non drinkers the cucumber spritz mocktail very refreshing. Cannot wait to come back and try the rest of the food items daniel recommended!

I’ve been here multiple times, but it was my first time coming for dinner ,and it did not disappoint . Breakfast here is also amazing. Don’t forget to try their fresh hibiscus margaritas. They are to die for . And the owner Dennis is amazing. Great hospitality 10/10 would recommend to everyone!

Nestled on Chicago Avenue in West Town, this Latin spot is a fantastic option for brunch. While the vibes and aesthetic are a bit lacking—I probably wouldn't bring out-of-town guests here for the 'atmosphere'—the food absolutely makes up for it. The portions are generous and everything tastes amazing. Just be sure to make a reservation; expect a wait if you try to walk in on the weekend!

Rating is based on food and service. When I arrived nobody was at the door but when the host arrived she was nice so I didn’t mind. However, I waited over 5min to get water after I was seated. My server (a tall guy with curly short hair, Daniel m on receipt) finally came to my table but he only poured water. He didn’t introduce himself or ask if I was ready, checked in on the table next to me, and left. I knew what I wanted before I came bc i was hungry and it was 2pm so I looked at the menu beforehand. It took me looking around for him to notice I needed something so he could come back to take my order, then again when I needed things such as syrup and the check. When he would finally notice me looking around, he would look somewhat annoyed and start walking away, but then realized he had to come to do his job. Everyone [customers] seemed to know an employee and I understand showing love to regulars but both tables next to me had amazing service, meanwhile my server never spoke to me or checked in on me. I had the French toast flight and Un Amor espresso martini. My drink was strong yet still tasted like coffee so I liked it a lot. The flight was amazing, my fave was the cinnamon & banana tho. Even though the food was amazing, I wouldn’t come back here because of the service.

The chilaquiles were so good with the chorizo. I got the berry French toast and it was great. Portions are big so you can share with another person. My aunt got the dulce de leche latte she said it was really good. I got the mazapán iced latte it was sooo good. Shout out to our server Nico!!!! he made my birthday brunch experience so special. I would recommend going here.

Excellent restaurant. I am a big fan of their former restaurant Crio. I had an incredible experience at Un Amor! From the moment we sat down, the vibe was perfect, but what really made the meal stand out was our server, Karla. It’s rare to find service that is both professional and genuinely warm. Karla was attentive without being overbearing and had some fantastic recommendation….she really knows the menu inside and out. Whether it was checking on our drinks or making sure every dish came out perfectly, she handled everything with a smile and made us feel like her top priority.

I had been wanting to try this place for the longest time, and finally stopped by during restaurant week. This place did not disappoint!! I don’t think I’ve been that well fed in a looong time. Plus everyone we interacted with was the sweetest, and the music was such a vibe. Can’t wait to try their brunch next!

Un Amor - Guatemalan Breakfast Review This meal is pure perfection -- juicy steak with chimichurri, sweet plantains, cheesy black beans, and sunny eggs cooked just right. Every bite hits rich, sweet, and savory notes perfectly. The service is warm, the vibe is chill and welcoming, and the whole place just feels good. 5/5 -- Incredible food, great service, and amazing ambiance.

Elite brunch spot! Recommend making a reservation as this place gets busy. No surprise though cause their food is so good. A few in my group got drinks but I skipped this time, they do have a bottomless brunch option in addition to their cocktail menu. Drinks looked very tempting! Highly recommend the carne asada bowl! It was so flavorful. Ask for some homemade salsa on the side too. You won't be disappointed! First time here but it definitely won't be my last, wow I'm so impressed!!! Need to try for dinner sometime too.

I came here on a Monday morning and was seated immediately. The atmosphere was nice and chill. Torta De Carne Asada (4/5): chose to make it a burrito, steak was flavorful, potatoes on the side were really good and seasoned well Horchata Carajillo (1/5): didn't taste horchata, mostly espresso, had a weird taste Hibiscus Margarita (4/5): refreshing, not too sweet

This is such a cute brunch spot! We came on a Sunday around 11AM and the restaurant was packed but we managed to snag two seats at the bar. Started off with a strawberry horchata latte and my friend ordered the ube latte. I loved the dried flower petals they had adorned my cup with. We wanted sweet and savory so we ordered the Guatemalan breakfast and shared the french toast flight. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was so juicy! Out of the three flavors of the french toast, I enjoyed the banana foster one the most. I loved that the restaurant is family owned and ran. The owner came over to introduce himself and his family members who were working. Will definitely be back to try more dishes in the coming weeks!

I came here when they first opened. I loved the friendly service & my avocado toast was amazing. Such a cute, cool vibe. We tried it again today & my avocado toast wasn't a great as before. They changed the fresh avocado to a thin guacamole spread. The bread is so good from Publican. It comes with 2 poached eggs. One was prepared perfectly, one was hard. The micro greens & shaved beets were nice, but it lacked flavor. I used salt & pepper to give it something. My husband got the chicken & waffles. They use thighs. He also thought it lacked flavor. The breading tested burnt but bland. It came with bourbon butter & a drizzle of syrup. It needed more, would have been nice if it came with some on the side. As a pescatarian, I wish the had more veggie choices on the menu. Or sub vegan chorizo. I'll be back to try again. I loved their friendly energy.

I went for a brunch. The place is very nice and clean. The waitress was very nice. I ordered the Carne Asada Bowl. It had Skirt steak, roasted potatoes, mixed peppers, red onion, asparagus, I requested scrambled eggs. The whole bowl was good. But not great. The meat was good and tender. The rest of the ingredients could have used some seasoning. We ordered the Braised Brisket Empanadas, they were excellent! The flavor of the brisket was really flavorful and so very good! Highly recommend. Overall it was a good experience. I will go back to try their dishes.

Came to Un Amor on a Sunday for brunch with a group of friends, and it was fantastic! We made a reservation on Resy two days in advance, and there were plenty of dining times available. The day of, we were running a bit late and were able to call to push our reservation back. Everyone was so kind, and our server had the best recommendations. We got the brisket and cachete empanadas to share and they were the best we've ever had. The skirt steak and chimichurri were also fantastic. We all enjoyed our food, and the skillet cookie at the end was the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant for the excellent service, ambiance, and quality and taste of food. It's easily one of my top brunch places this year.

We went for lunch and stayed for the bottomless mimosas. They have 90 minutes for $25. The waitress was also very attentive at refilling the glasses. I had the carne asada bowl and it was delicious. I loved the bell peppers that added flavor and the corn added a crunch. I ended it with an horchata espresso martini. The cherry on top? The churro was filled. I do not have one negative thing to say. They do take reservations, so that's the only thing I wish I knew.

We are OBSESSED with Un Amor and can't stop going back for their incredible brunches and amazing evening happy hours and dinners! The staff? They don't just serve you - they WELCOME you with open arms every single time! Their attention to detail is NEXT LEVEL! And the FOOD?! OH. MY. GOODNESS. It's mind-blowingly delicious! Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - we've tried has completely blown us away! When we had 10 friends visiting for St. Patrick's Day, there was NO QUESTION where we had to take them! We made a reservation for our crew of 12 at our beloved Un Amor, and guess what? EVERYONE declared it their absolute favorite restaurant of their entire Chicago trip! How amazing is that?! For brunch, you HAVE to try the Carne Asada Bowl (get those eggs scrambled - trust me!), any of their INCREDIBLE french toast creations, LITERALLY ALL of their empanadas (they're THAT good!), and the chicken and waffles that will change your life! Un Amor is a casual sit-down Latin American fusion restaurant that serves up some good hefty tacos. I particularly liked the pescado taco which had a nice crunch but would probably pass on the rajas taco. The mussels were great and the entire table enjoyed dipping the broth in the slightly spice-y, rich umami infused broth. My friend got the house marg off the happy hour menu and seemed to enjoy it. Un Amor has plenty of seating with a cool Sentrock painting on the back wall. The fish taco and the happy hour mussels definitely did stick out and I recommend trying both.

Cool place but overall I'm in like not love. Kitchen's output was good but not compelling. Friendly peeps but Again not exceptional service. Espresso coffee...but it wasn't great. It is a cool spot.

This restaurant has a touch of Mexican flair. Food is decent but, not amazing. I had chicken and waffles for brunch. Chicken they used was the thighs so it would be moist and it was but, the chicken breading did not have a lot of flavor. Waffles were good but, the syrup derived its jalapeño flavor from cut up jalapeños in the syrup and I wish it would have been infused in the syrup. My partner had avocado toast and it fell a little short in the flavor profile. Service was outstanding.

Love this local spot! We just moved around the corner and dropped in for brunch. It's a family owned business and service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly! On top of that, the food was delicious. We just moved from TX and have been craving something like this. The breakfast tacos were so good, as was the carbs asada bowl. They also had a guy doing full time barista work (we sat at the bar watching) and his drinks were on point. Highly recommend, can't wait to try dinner.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. No reservation and had no wait time which was nice. Service was quick and the staff was very attentive throughout our visit. I started with the horchata latte and it was really tasty! If you like horchata, definitely get this, it won't disappoint. Their empanadas are so good! I really enjoyed the brisket one. The crust was like the perfect texture. For my entree I got the chilaquiles with chicken, it was pretty good, but I think I should have gotten steak. Portion size is good, I will definitely be back to try out some other items.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Yep, it was that good. I had a craving for skirt steak, so I searched on Yelp. Un Amor eventually came up. It was unusual because it had an average of 4.8 stars and all red, you know what I mean. So it stood out. I thought to myself, I gotta try this place. From the outside, it looks like a regular retail storefront. But inside, it looks modern and tastefully decorated with Mexican themes. I was seated quickly at a booth seat, and my order was taken efficiently as well. The food came out within a few minutes. The Horchata Latte was exactly what I was looking for - a hint of spice with a sprinkle of cocoa powder and a dash of horchata. Then the Skirt Steak Sandwich came out. It looked colorful and tasty. Oohhh, that first bite - I will remember it for the rest of my life. All the flavors just melted together, like if the Democrats and Republicans put aside all their differences and danced the night away. That's how it felt and tasted. I mean, how can you go wrong with well cooked and seasoned grilled skirt steak, sliced hard boiled egg, roasted pablono peppers, duck fat onions, and fresh chimichurri. I wanted to swim in that chimichurri. It was so good, I immediately ordered an extra side of skirt steak, because enough is just not enough. I will definitely try to come back soon, even though it is not as close to downtown as I wish.

It was my first time there, and I thoroughly enjoyed brunch. The atmosphere was delightful, with people chatting and enjoying themselves. The service was excellent; my friend and I had reservations, so we didn't have to wait. Parking might be difficult, but I was fortunate to find a spot. I ordered chicken and waffles; the chicken was a thigh, which I don't prefer as it was a bit chewy. However, the waffles were delicious. My friend had a chicken bowl, which she loved. The drinks were also very tasty.

Came here on a trip with my mom. We ordered the maiz empanada and burrata and fig toast to start. Both were amazing and the empanada was by far our favorite thing. We wish we just got all of those without the mains. For mains, my mom ordered the chilaquiles verde and I got the smash burger. The smash burger with potatoes was A LOT of oil/fat with nothing to really balance/cut it, veggies on the burger or fruit on the plate would've helped a bit. They did forget to put the aioli on my burger so I had to ask for it on the side. My mom liked the chilaquiles verde, good crisp to the tortillas and it was well balanced. Verde sauce could've been better The server was great - she gave good suggestions as my mom doesn't love red meat. It's a popular restaurant so they did rush us through ordering / eating, but I get having to turn tables. Ambiance was busy, but overall relaxing. If we came back we'd change our order, get the empanadas!!!

Stopped in for brunch after reading so many fantastic reviews. Space is bright, open, clean, and comfortable. A noticeably large staff provided quick, extremely friendly service. Ordered the steak sandwich - absolutely phenomenal! Comes with skirt steak, hard boiled eggs, melted chihuahua cheese, mayo, and a fresh., garlicky chimichurri. Loved it! Can't wait to return for more Latin favorites!

Came here for brunch and may have a new favorite brunch spot! The ambiance is cute and the menu was fire. My favorite thing was actually the empanada, definitely want to try the other kinds of empanadas next time. Loved the drinks too like the carajillo and the house marg. We got the carne asada bowl and the enfrijoladas. Definitely want to come back soon to try out the other things on the brunch menu as well as dinner!

Environment was chill, service was great, food was spectacular! The wait time was an hour to be seated, luckily we got a bar top which was comfortable to enjoy our food. Love this place!

Local brunch spot that serves up classic dishes with Latin flavors. Wasn't a fan of their avocado toast because there was too much cilantro in the guac and the toast had a soggy center and burnt crust. The carne asada bowl's sunny side up egg was actually a bit raw which was disappointing. The main redeeming dish was their chicken & waffles. Those were amazingly juicy and had a very crispy exterior. The waffles were so delicious on their own they didn't even need the syrup. In terms of service, the wait was strangely long & the waiter almost mixed up our orders. We waited about an hour for three dishes - not sure why it took so long but definitely made the experience less enjoyable.

Great hospitality and mind blowing empanadas! Seriously those empanadas are addictive, interesting flavors for toppings and perfect crunch! Un Amore has very good brunch options, nice atmosphere and quick service. Definitely highly recommend!

Amazing amazing experience at Un Amor. We came in last minute on a Sunday before the kitchen was closing and I'm so glad they allowed us to come in and eat!! This is a family owned and ran restaurant, so the staff were caring and said hello to us. We ordered the steak bowl and it was absolutely delicious with the freshest ingredients! Highly recommend. We also got their cocktails and you can't go wrong with any of them! I'm not a brunch fan, but I'd come back here just because the food is that great!

First time here for my SIL's birthday and the staff was amazing. There were able to accompany our large group and were very on top of it when it came to asking our experience, answering questions on recommendations, and knowing the needs of a customer without asking. They provided ample bottles of waters and were able to ensure those that had bottomless mimosas to not see the bottom and our waitress gave me a great rec in trying my espresso martini with tequila. We knew about this location as my husband and I would enjoy going to Crio, so it was a nice welcome seeing the restaurant staff we would interact with over there at this location. The chilaquiles are always a hit and I decided to be different this time and have it with chicken when I usually go for steak, but to my surprise, this might become my go to plate for when I am able to come back!

My boyfriend and I stopped in for brunch the other weekend and were blown away! The entire staff is so amazing and so so kind. They're all family which makes the restaurant so special. The food is so incredible words cannot describe it! The cocktails are curated by the bartender/daughter and are so creative and delicious! Everything about this place is so incredible. We will definitely be back! They truly made it feel like you were dining at home with them. Highly recommend the ribeye sandwich!

We came here for brunch without a reservation and had to wait 30 min. We were a little surprised because there were a lot of available reservations when we checked the day before and thought it wouldn't be very busy. Based on Yelp reviews, we had the carne asada bowl and brisket empanada. The brisket empanada was really good!! The shell was crispy, the filling flavorful and tender, and the spicy sauce was amazing. The carne asada bowl was good for what it was. Slices of tender carne asada on a bed of crispy potatoes. It was good, nothing was wrong with it, but it was nothing special. I'm not a huge steak person, so I'd get something different next time. The service was minimal - few/no check-ins and it took a while for someone to come by and take our order. Overall, it's a solid neighborhood restaurant, but probably not worth a trip.

This might be my new favorite brunch spot in Chicago - everything we ordered was incredible, well balanced, and unique. I got the pibil pulled pork tostada, which blew my mind. Guava and cheese empanada was crispy and not too sweet - could've eaten a dozen. My mom had the patty melt, which was rich but not overwhelming, with a perfect cook on the meat. Side potatoes were also awesome. Will be back ASAP.

My new favorite brunch place! Un amor is such a great new spot in the West Town neighborhood. The menu is fantastic and it was so difficult to choose since there were so many great options. With my server's recommendation, I tried the Carne Asada Bowl and it was delicious! The steak was perfectly seasoned and all the flavors went together perfectly. I also tried a papaya empanada on the side. The papaya flavor was very different since I'm used to savory empanadas (which they have plenty of btw) but I still found it very good and the pastry was exactly as it should be. My friend tried the French toast flight and she loved it! I also got an ube latte which I loved. The server was friendly and I believe it was the owner or manager kept checking on us making sure everything was to our liking. There were easily able to accommodate us with two babies as well which we really appreciated. I can't wait to come back to Un Amor and try more things off the menu! Five Stars for sure!

I eat here so often that I'm embarrassed by how long it's taken me to leave a review. A really wonderful family-run restaurant--it can be a wait, but everything always seems to be perfectly seasoned. My favorite empanada is the mais (corn), the dulce de leche latte is the perfect sweetness, and the guatemalan breakfast will leave you full and happy until the next day. Get a special of the day if they have them! Special shout-out to Claudia, who always has a smile and a great attitude even when the place is hopping!

New place that recently opened up near my airbnb with some amazing pictures and good looking food so definitely had to try. I got the Chilequiles de Mole as well as French Toast Slider (they let you get to try all three french toast they have for the same price as one!) For the Chilequiles de Mole, a solid 8/10. I had gotten it with chorizo and for me, the chorizo was a bit too overcooked and dry for me, but the flavor was still very nice. This combined with the Mole sauce made a nice earthy yet meaty flavor which was amazing with the Chilequiles. What brought this down on star for me though was the french toast slider, 3/10. Although the plating and picturesque appearance of the toast was stunning, the flavor was just not there. The bread was very bland and dry and the fruits they used were really sour. It was as if they just barely coated the outside of the bread with whatever topping the french toast was for and then ignored the inside of it so the center was also just eating normal bread. It took forever to get through one piece and we ultimately decided we couldn't even finish it after trying all three as we didn't like any of them. Overall, would definitely love to go to try their other entree menu items, but would not get the toast :(

I love it! used to be three house which I feel like was a cult favorite but they still have the amazing burger. I've been here for lunch and dinner and both are amazing! I wish it was more well known because it's so good but it is nice because you know you can always walk in without a res.

My friends and I came here as our first stop in Chicago, and wow. It truly knocked it out of the park for us. $19 for a steak and eggs entree? Talk about reasonable prices! Steak was cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY. The potatoes were so crispy and delicious. Eggs were also cooked perfectly. My friend's steak sandwich...PERFECTION. We also tried their empanadas, and it was so fun to try and rate each one we got. Can't say enough good things about Un Amor. Staff is so friendly, and they even serve VietFive coffee!

Carne asada bowl is just wow! One of the best breakfast spots in the city. The steak is cooked perfectly. There's vegetables and potatoes added to it as well. The price for this bowl is unbeatable. I also got the ube coffee and it was SO good!

SUPERB food. Latino owned. The only thing I would mention I'm not a fan of but this is a personal preference is the super loud reggaeton music inside. I try to sit outdoors for a quieter ambience so that I can have conversation with whoever I am with. Otherwise, would recommend this place 10/10

Here on 4th of July to enjoy true American classics like the viet-style iced coffee, corn and poblano empanada, and churro French toast. (Jokes) Food was great. Flavorful + great portions. Empanada was my favorite Service was excellent. It was slow but multiple servers checked on me and I appreciated that. Nice, newer place that deserves more biz. I'll be back!

Wow! Just wow! Went in on a Wednesday at 5:30pm and sat at the bar. Had an $8 Tamarindo Margarita and it was amazing. Perfect blend of tequila and mix. I checked out the menu and was torn between the skirt steak sandwich and the burger. Went with the steak sandwich. It was a good move. It's one of those sandwiches you can't put down because you are afraid it'll fall apart! The fries on the side were cooked to perfection! Dennis - one of the owners, I believe, came out and checked on me multiple times. Really pleasant person and I really hope Un Amor gets noticed. I will absolutely be back!

This place is absolutely delicious!!!!!!!! Foood 10000x/10 every time I go I eat chilaquiles de mole and they are fire it's my go too.

When you first pull up to the place you can easily miss the place if you not paying attention like me. Once I walked in, I was happy to see the decor and ambiance was warm and inviting. The host greeted my friend and I with a smile. Same with the waitress. She was friendly and recommended her personal favs on the menu. We listened and ordered what she recommended. Cachete empanadas. No regrets! We also ordered the Guatemala breakfast and carne asada bowl, as well as a mojito and dulce de leche latte. Sooooo good too! I think you can't go wrong with anything on this menu. We were full so we are saving dessert menu for next time!

I had the chilaquiles! They were crisp and flavorful but the salsa verse was a bit too tart and unbearable once you get to the bottom. Would appreciate a vegetarian roja sauce and soyrizo for a vegetarian protein source.

The service was good, the food was great, the food was priced reasonably but $5 for a cup of coffee is too much, the space is minimalist and clean and the ambiance was cool albeit, the music is played a lil too loud. If they lower it a bit so people can hear each other and have good conservation, it's an all around cool place for brunch. I'll be back.
