Un Petit Cabanon Bouillon

"In this minimalist neo-bistro just a stone's throw from Joliette metro station, the emphasis is on local produce, with a touch of creativity for good measure. The menu taps into the zeitgeist and highlights what's in season: confit pork belly; pasta, squid ink, dill and sea almonds." - Michelin Inspector

I had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. There aren’t many tables so reservation is recommended. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable - it is a little slow but from what I can see there if only one person serving and taking orders so it’s totally acceptable.

Absolutely lovely. I too, like many other reviewers, am reviewing this incredible restaurant while I sop up the last drops of sauce with my bread. It was a delicious, home-y yet sophisticated course of food which was just fabulous. We had the sardines, the pageot and the 6 hour pork which was phenomenal.

Wonderful. Came here because it was on Michelin guide and I was not disappointed. Lunch is only the daily menu (I might have this wrong my French is limited to bon jour and merci). I had the leeks as a starter, chicken as the main and apricot as the dessert. I hate leeks and it was as expected. The confit on top was good and the presentation was beautiful. The chicken was AMAZING. I’m a sauce person and the paprika based sauce was fantastic. Truly could have been happy with a bowl and some bread to sop it up with. But the chicken was expertly cooked and was well balanced with the sauce. Roasted Apricot was tasty and an excellent finish to the meal. Do not miss if you are visiting.

Kind and attentive service, delicious food presented with artistry made with fresh ingredients. Convenient central location. I had the hummus and fish special. Loved both. Highly recommend!

I’m writing this review while still in the restaurant cause I’m amazed by the cuisine of this little bistro. The lunch menu features two incredible dishes + a dessert for as little as 19 euros. The chef showed a great respect for raw ingredients, you can clearly recognize each single note and how they all work together to create a balanced tasting experience. Not by chance it’s in the Michelin Guide selection.

Great quality, but not obnoxious. Wine selection could be more interesting, I tried a decent côtes du Roussillon though.

A recommendation that didn’t disappoint. Great service and great food made this a favorite stop during our travels.

Before sharing my critique, I’d like to highlight that the waiter truly saved my dining experience at this restaurant. She spoke excellent English—far better than what I typically encountered in Marseille—and was exceptionally kind, going above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant meal. Her professionalism was outstanding. Additionally, I must acknowledge that the octopus starter was well-prepared. However, beyond that, many aspects fell short. At some point between my reservation and my visit, this restaurant seems to have vanished from the Michelin app. After my experience, I understand why. The restroom was in poor condition, resembling that of a pub rather than a fine-dining establishment: only an air dryer was available (no towels), and the toilet seat was discolored with brown stains. The wine cabinet’s glass windows were visibly dirty; a detail I couldn’t ignore, given my view of them from the table. The table setting was inconsistent and underwhelming; while other diners had thick white napkins, mine were cheap paper ones, as if I were at a fast-food joint. The starter included tough, dried tomatoes that tasted straight from a can. As for the main course, the pork was overcooked. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and the restaurant’s decline in standards seems evident.
