Great food and an easygoing atmosphere. You order at the counter and they bring everything out to your table, which keeps things relaxed and unfussy. Perfect for a quick bite or a date night equally. The menu isn’t huge, but it’s clearly intentionl, it's small but powerful and well thought out. I ordered the tuna crudo, the spicy ground brisket taco, and for desert I had the the concha rellena. The tuna crudo was a standout, the leche de tigre has some of the best flavor combinations I’ve eaten in a long time. The brisket taco delivered bold flavour and balanced heat without overpowering everything else. And the concha rellena was the perfect way to end the meal. It's served warm, the concha's soft and light, the Chantilly crema was perfectly sweet and airy without adding heaviness to the dish or being overpowering, really balanced flavour. Portions aren’t huge but the flavours make up for it, seriously!! so i’d definitely recommend ordering a few dishes, especially if you're with friends or with a special someone. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area!

Una Mas is a really cute new local spot. They open at 8 a.m., and it’s perfect if you want to grab a morning coffee. Inside the restaurant, there’s a small food-truck setup, which makes the place feel unique and charming. They serve burritos and mini burritos—just the right size for an early breakfast. The whole place feels warm and welcoming, and it’s thoughtfully decorated with kids in mind. The fireplace adds a cozy touch. And I have to mention Derek. He absolutely brings this place to life with his energy—positive, bright, vibrant vibes. Thank you, Derek, for the great conversation and the good energy. They started serving breakfast around Black Friday, and it’s quickly becoming one of the nicest local spots to stop by. Highly recommend.

Checked out UnaMas on Adams recently and there’s a lot of promise here—but also some early kinks that need ironing out. Let’s start with the food, which is where UnaMas shines. The Grilled Cheese Burro was an absolute standout—rich, gooey, and indulgent in all the right ways. The stuffed poblano was just the right amount of spicy. It’s the kind of dish you think about long after you leave. The Tuna Crudo was also excellent: mango habanero, bright, fresh, and beautifully plated with balanced flavors and blue corn chips that elevated the entire experience. On the flip side, the tacos—while tasty—were very small. At this price point, I expected either more quantity or more substance. Service felt a bit underwhelming—servers seemed distracted or stretched thin, but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt since the place is still new and probably finding its rhythm. The biggest letdown? No beer available, which was surprising considering recent press highlighting their impressive tap selection. Hopefully, that’s just a temporary issue. All in all, there’s a great concept here and flashes of brilliance in the kitchen. I’ll definitely give UnaMas another shot once they’ve had time to settle in and live up to their potential.

Been coming here since it opened! Love the food, the drink selection and especially the staff! Very attentive, friendly and KNOWS how to pour a proper pint!!! Great outdoor space and a little area for kiddos. Great to see craft beer for Mexico that you usually can't find easily!

Google
Fun little spot, but pretty bad pour if you’re looking for a beer. We brought them back up to the bar asking her to fill them properly and she told us this is how they pour them. I was a bartender for years, this is NOT how you pour a beer 🙄. She also charged us $8 instead of the $7 listed on the menu. For half a beer, no thanks! If you’re looking for a beer, I would not recommend this place. Tons of other options on Adams with more selection, kind bartenders and an actual pint! 🍺 No más para mi!

Google
Super cute outside area to eat dinner! The food was creative, zesty, flavorful, exquisite, and scrumptious! The server was super sweet and inviting! Go check out this new restaurant!

Love this new spot on Adam’s. A great take on classic Baja cuisine, and killer beer from Cervecería Transpeninsular. A worthwhile stop.

Google
Una Mas cafe porfavor. UnaMas on Adams is a cool spot. They have a bar, check, the have a food truck, check, and the have a coffee kiosk, check. This makes me a happy camper. I stopped in for a cortado and a chorizo breakfast burrito provided by "Burritos de tu Madre," a local small business. The cortado was well made and had a good flavor. It was smooth and rich in good coffee flavor. It was a little heavy on the foam however. The chorizo breakfast burrito was very good, too. It came with queso fresco, beans, and chorizo, not to mention a quality flour tortilla. UnMas offers a lot of good seating with a park-like setting. There's even a small play are for the little ones. This is a very cool spot.

Yelp
I love this spot. Tasty beers on tap. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have a TV where they play sports. The tacos are fine. I've had better. But I LOVE the crunch wrap supreme. I also tried the nachos. They were pretty good. But they're fork nachos not hand nachos and they got soggy a little quickly. They were out of a lot of beers one time when I went, but I hadn't had that problem before

Yelp
Good place for dinner or drinks after work with friends! The highlight for me was the service. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. They seem like great people. The outdoor patio area is cute with ambient lighting, though the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. They have creative food options that are fun to try, and hit or miss for flavor. The grilled cheese burrito was rather mushy, but ok if I just tried not to think of it as a burrito. I do recommend the Crunchwrap supreme which had a much better balance of texture and flavor. The cocktail list is solid, and there is a small variety of wine and beer options. They were out of almost all of their listed beers so a menu update might be helpful. Cute place for an evening out!

Yelp
I visited UnaMas on Adams Ave in the University Heights neighborhood during its soft opening period in early August. At that time, their ABC license had not been granted yet, and the operating hours were from 4 to 9 pm on weekdays and noon to 7 pm on weekends. It took multiple attempts before I was able to make a successful visit because I came near their closing time, and the kitchen had already stopped serving food. There was a large outdoor patio that made up most of the seating capacity. The indoor structure housed the bar area and a few tables. The food was prepared by the chef from a mobile trailer on the back of the property. One article described the business as a Baja-SoCal fusion brewpub. The front of the building had a mural painted of the Baja peninsula so the Mexican region was prominently displayed. The food menu had two shareable items, two local tuna dishes, two burritos, three tacos, three crunchwrap supremes, a taco salad, and a dessert. I selected the tacos which cost $15 for the trio. * Doritos Loco Taco - cool ranch, duck confit, bacon, crema * Potato Soft Taco - fireball seasoned Yukon gold, creme fraiche * Spicy Ground Brisket Taco - shredded lettuce, cheese blend, crema, salsa The first two were served on soft tortillas while the last one was served on a crunchy blue corn masa shell. Surprisingly, the vegetarian version was the best of the bunch. Maybe it was because of the seasoning on the potatoes? The ground brisket did pack quite a lot of heat. While waiting for the tacos, I was provided a complimentary offering of the Escabeche Dip. Jalapeno creme fraiche and cheddar cheese were served with blue corn tortilla chips. The dip did have a refreshing flavor, however the $9 regular price was high for the serving size. The place was not very busy on that particular weeknight which meant the staff had ample time to provide excellent service. For the cost and quality of my food, I gave a four star rating for my dining experience at UnaMas on Adams.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place six stars. They have a gorgeous, curated, tiny menu (more later, but they're still in soft launch phase), on which every single item is perfect. Utterly perfect. From the succulent duck confit crunch-wrap to the tender, poke-like tuna tostada, all of the ingredients meld marvelously and utterly delight and surprise the tastebuds. It's in a cozy, back patio area that is dog-friendly, and such a perfect little neighborhood hangout... Or it would be, except for that one evil lawyer neighbor, who has a thing for suing all local small businesses, according to the lovely person who took care of us. He's managed to obstruct their official opening, using one stupid excuse or another, which, after the more-than-a-year of planning and perfecting the concept, is HURTING them. They have a liquor license, but cannot use it... they have more menu items planned, but cannot launch them... please come out and eat MARVELOUS food and support these people! It was so terrific, we went twice on a one-week trip... Oh, update!! The evil lawyer I heard about? Contacted me via Yelp and threatened to sue me! Really leads credence to the story we were told... and actually, thinking about it, makes me think he's likely stalking anything to do with UnaMas, which is how he found my review. So! Come support a great local business, eat amazing food, and hear the full story about the Evil Lawyer (who went by "Honest M" on Yelp -- ahahahahaha -- no photo, no personal details). I'm including a pic of his threats; see for yourself!

Yelp
It feels like a nice open backyard. Kid friendly, dog friendly. Ok coffee, decent taco. A little pricey for what you get. Service was timely and polite. Excellent quite place to hang out in Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for family or happy hour. I came here on a Tuesday and was greeted with friendly service and great beers. The place was spacious with indoor bar seating and outdoor seating which can accommodate many. I tried the food and I'd have to say the brisket wrap was delicious!!! Great spot off Adams!

Yelp
The brisket is still lingering in my mind. What a flavor! Tacos are delicious, the tortillas soft and tasty, and they hold together all the delicious filling options! The crunch wrap looks great, I just wasn't hungry enough to crush a whole one, but they also have the brisket option for those! Service was friendly and fast, they had a nice open air casual vibe, and the bathroom was clean lol. Great spot to hold events or just have a casual dinner in Normal Heights. Street parking only.

Yelp
Great new spot in the neighborhood! Stopped in for a beer and some food, and everything hit the spot. The tostadas were super tasty, and the nachos were perfectly indulgent -- exactly what you want with a cold drink in hand. Wrapped up the night with a nice hazy to clear the palate, which was the perfect finish. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is open and relaxed. It's very family-friendly too, with a kids' section in the back -- a nice touch! They even looked out for my pup and had a treat ready to go. A chill, community-minded place with great food and good vibes. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
The concept is an "elevated taco bell" and, yeah, that's what it is. For a little over twice the price of a crunchwrap from taco bell you get something that tastes and sits a lot better. Once they start serving beers (apparently this weekend) this should be a good hang out spot. They have a really nice indoor/outdoor set up. A lot of potential here. I'm rooting for these guys.

Yelp
Food is delicious , even though they only have a limited selection for now ( since they have only been open for 2 days ). Service was the best ! Toni is very personable and answered all of the questions we had during our visit . It's a layer back feel with things for the kids to do and they accommodate for your dogs as well . I highly recommend UNA MÁS I'm glad a spot like this popped up in this neighborhood . Look forward to coming back frequently to see how this place keeps evolving . Cheers

Yelp
The only issue I have is that they give you one tiny salsa with your burrito and when you ask for extra it's $1 per additional salsa. The salsas are small and it's $1 per small cup. Food is decent. They said they are going for elevated Taco Bell. Seems accurate. Kinda pricey especially given they charge you for salsa. Atmosphere is why I'm giving 3 stars. If you're looking for a chill place to grab a beer and hang out with friends come here. Not for the food

Yelp
Una Mas.......... The beer is here!!!! Honestly the kindest staff I have met. So refreshing these days. They are warm and welcoming with smiles for days. Feels like I'm going over to a friends house.I have stopped in everyday for beer since they have started serving. A big thank you and a hug to Toni and Collin for showing me true hospitality. Happy to have you guys in the neighborhood! They said next week they will start serving morning coffee and small breakfast bites. This is a perfect place to chill if you work from home.

Yelp
Food was meh. Got 2 tacos and crunch wrap supreme - Taco Bell is better. And cheaper. Only 2 stars for its decent indoor outdoor space.

Yelp
Part of me wants to gatekeep this place but it's so damn good, everyone deserves to try UnaMas on Adams. I live a few streets down and have been scoping out this place opening for a while and I've been about three times since it's opened and I've absolutely loved it. I've gotten the soft potato taco and the lager multiple times and have really enjoyed it. The real standouts are the tuna tostada and the duck confit crunchwrap. Absolutely INSANE. Patio is well lit and definitely has a nice family vibe to it. Service is actually impeccable. My third visit I came in to sit down and the waitress recognized me from my first visit which was about a month ago! Do yourself a favor and come enjoy some great grub, I will definitely be back.

Yelp
New Adams Ave gig! High quality fresh mexican baja food, Tuna toastada and crudo were amazing! A broad selection of craft beers several from baja (ensenada), wines from the valle de guadalupe - food and drinks simply spectacular. Very kid and pet friendly, in-door & out-door space perfect for Adams Ave and San Diego. Staff and chiefs extremely friendly and welcoming. Open for lunch, dinner and breakfast starting soon. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went there with a foursome, we each had a different taco dish and we amazed by all of it. BEST tacos in San Diego, bar none. Seriously. The brisket was f-ing amazing. Perfect atmosphere, chill vibe, and pet friendly friendly. Will definitely be going back any time the opportunity presents. Also a great addition to the neighborhood, really great people running the place.

Robert B.

Yelp
Great place to go for Mexican food with a twist. I had the three taco combo and it was really good. The combo is a potato, ground brisket, and duck confit tacos. It has a nice outdoor seating area with a nice neighborhood vibe. The service was great and the food in a food truck beside the restaurant.

Yelp
Just tried this place out on my weekend bike ride. Super good. Highly recommended. Friendly staff awesome food and they are just getting started. Chill large space with indoor and outdoor seating. I think this will be my new Taco Tuseday spot.

Seth A.

Yelp
Great spot on Adams . The menu, while limited they seem to do it pretty well for a good price. Service was good, attentive. Nice little patio, like how they have the reflective spinners to keep it free of flies . They are still sorting out the liquor situation so it's BYOB, which works for me. Me and my partner had crunchwraps that hit the spot. Hers was duck mine brisket. Good experience.

Jo B.

Yelp
Nice casual neighborhood spot. Food was good. We ordered two of the three-taco plate. But there was a mix-up in delivery, I think. I was sitting facing the truck (where the chefs are) and I saw the two plates "up" - but one was delivered to our table and one was taken elsewhere. We mentioned our order wasn't complete, and the very nice staff person said it would be coming out real soon, so my husband insisted I start eating and he'd wait for his meal. I didn't eat quickly but was mostly done with my food before his came. That made him grumpy, which I can understand. The restaurant got busy quite soon after we arrived so I think the place will become very popular, considering it's still in "soft" opening and can't serve liquor/beer yet!
