Google
Got the Kraken boba tea! Highly recommend. Cute cafe. I would love to go again if visiting Portland again!

Google
Delicious bubble tea made with real tea/ingredients. The staff are great and the space well suited for working, gaming, or hanging out.

Google
The bubble tea from this place sent me on a magical, hypnotic journey that I will never forget. I got the navagio tea which is earl grey tea with oat milk and lavender syrup. It is heavenly. It is divine. This cafe is so much fun with plenty of nooks and corners to hide in and read.

Paige E.

Google
Beautiful view and comfortable atmosphere. Delicious teas! We had the passion fruit tea with popping bubbles and the Navagio with boba. So good 😁

Google
Came by the other day and had a fairly mixed experience. Selling exclusively just toast and boba is strange, but novel in a way I appreciate! There are so many options for bobas too. My biggest issue, is with their cutlery and straws. They're made out of bamboo and really flimsy plastic. The straw had a weird spikey texture and the knife literally snapped as I was cutting my toast. I asked if they had more normal options for these, and the employee said no, followed by "Sorry you're not enjoying your boba." With this tone like they've never been asked this before. So it might just be me but it still felt a little uncalled for.

Google
The atmosphere here is so comforting & cozy. I got the egg salad toast and it was absolutely delicious! The bread was so thick and the flavors all complimented each other very well. I also tried the Bermuda Triangle and Mariana Trench. Both were very good!

Google
This place has been one of my favorite parts of visiting Portland. The staff is super friendly and loves talking about their reccomendations and the process. They have a giant menu and a really nice, multi-level seating area that feels inviting and comfortable. If I was a local I could see myself being a regular of this establishment. I've visited twice so far and I've loved both times. The boba and tea is amazing and flavorful and the toast I had was well made. This is a place that you get your money's worth, every time. I tried the Kraken (thai tea) and the Leviathan (taro and nitro coffee) and they were both phenomenal! I just might have to stop by a third time. 100/10 experience.

Dani L.

Google
The tea was ok, I wish they would ask for a preferred sweetness level because it was far too sweet. The atmosphere is great. Unfortunately their boba straws are garbage and broke off little pieces into my drink at random. 🤨 I might go back for the vibes, but not for boba.

Yelp
When we wanted tea on a Saturday afternoon, we walked over to Uncharted. Up the stairs. To the counter. Then the hard part - so many choices! We had the seasonal Pumpkin Matcha tea with Boba. Fantastic! The next day back for Pumpkin Spice Boba with Thai tea and more Matcha for my wife. It's a chill spot to hang, enjoy a drink and watch the people. Plenty of outlets for your devices. Wish we had a place like this at home!

Yelp
It's been far too long since my wife and I have visited Uncharted Tea. I know we will always get high quality tasty drinks when we stop here. I will say it's always a gamble if we will get close street parking. Also a warning that they have a set of stairs up so may difficult for some to be able to get inside due to this. Once you get inside the order counter will be in front of you and then to both sides will be a variety of seating options. Some tables, a couch and some window seating to watch the hustle and bustle of Portland. Through a partnership with the book store across the street Green Hand Bookshop they have some books for sale too. They do offer some food options here including breakfast toasts and what not but I have only had drinks. Also don't be worried by the name if you don't like tea they do have coffee options available too. If you like tea and especially bubble tea this is a must visit though! Besides their typical offering menu they do specials and that is what got us needing to stop by. I will first give a shout out to their dirty chai, one of the best versions of this I have tried! But the two fall inspired specials we got today were Thai Tea Pumpkin Spice and Nitro Pumpkin Spice. Both were full of flavor and super unique for fall drink specials. The Thai tea had a good mix of that classic flavor that you know if you've tried it with a balanced amount of pumpkin. The Nitro Pumpkin was a delicious cold brew with a punch of pumpkin to it. Both came with boba but you could ask for without if wanted. I would get either of those drinks again but would give a slight edge to the Nitro Pumpkin Spice. Do yourself a favor and stop here for the first time if you haven't checked it out and if it's been awhile revisit!

Yelp
Best boba shop in town. Tapioca is always fresh, love the ability to adjust sweetness to perfection and trying out their specials. I truly love this place and hope they hand around for a while.

Yelp
as someone who doesn't particularly enjoy bubble tea, there's still a lot to love about uncharted. the space is perfect, lots of natural light and comfy seating options. undoubtedly one of my favorite study spots. the few times i've gotten their bubble tea, it's always been pretty good, but everything else is hit-or-miss. their nitro cold brews are INSANELY sweet (even with 50% sweetness, i couldn't drink it without feeling nauseous). their matcha is very good. all of their other teas are okay, but the prices are sometimes steep. i paid $7.50 for a small hot tea with honey, like what? feels a little insane for a simple tea. also, still charging extra for alternative milks is a bummer. worth noting that their entrance isn't wheel-chair accessible.

Yelp
Our first experience at Uncharted Tea was to say the least, very pleasant. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew this was a place we would frequent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in helping us choose our drinks. I had the Black Pearl which was delicious and fun. I love bubble tea, it's fun!!! My husband got the Tami Massif with Mango. He said many times it was the best he's had. We both had the Avocado Toast with crunch Chick Peas and Harissa Olive Oil. Absolutely the best we've had. There was plenty of seating and windows. The shop is on Congress Street which provides lots of people watching while enjoying your tea and toast. Parking took a while, but was worth it!! This place is definitely a winner.

Yelp
Ambiance is everything!! The boba is great too-- nice and warm pearls, made fresh for sure! There's a lovely view of bustling downtown Portland here, and the vibe is just super lovely and laid back. A perfect stop for any day trippers or casual boba enthusiasts.

Mark S.

Yelp
This was exactly the vibe I needed to recharge as I explored the city. So many quirky-cozy places to sit and sip, lovely baked goods to complement the bubble tea. They had all the staples you'd expect, and I was very impressed by their unique twist on a good boba. Book and games to pass the time or entertain the kids so you can get a moment of quiet. The staff was helpful and had good suggestions about the menu. I'll be sure to stop by next time I'm in Portland!

Yelp
Cozy coffee shop, perfect for what was a pretty rainy day in Portland. The turmeric chai latte was a nice balance of sweet and savory and the "great barrier reef" with coconut milk, lychee, mango and boba was a unique take on bubble tea. Surprisingly refreshing on a cold day. 1. Turmeric chai latte - 4/5 2. Great Barrier Reef - 5/5
google avatar

Vi L.

Yelp
As a tea lover, my friend recommended I come here. I really liked the vibe and open space of this store, and also appreciated the extensive menu that had different than usual bubble tea type options. I got a sailor's paradise since it was caffeine free. It was fine, but the flavors and boba did not stand out to me in any way. My friend got a dirty chai but felt it was excessively sweet. I wish I liked it more than I did.

Yelp
Although I don't think I'll ever fully hop aboard the boba tea train, Uncharted is undoubtedly the best bubble tea in the area. There's plenty of indoor seating inside a spacious, bright, and homey-feeling interior, and the menu is the perfect amount of extensive. I ordered the Atlantis (matcha) and Mariana Trench (taro), and found the Atlantis to be a better pick. Kinda wish I had just gone for the Kraken (thai tea), but you live some, you learn some. Although I probably should have asked for 125-150% sweetness (which I appreciate that you can do!) I tried to be healthy (questionable), but regretted it, because without the extra sugar, the drink gets watered down pretty easily. Still good, nonetheless. Although I understand that the menu is supposed to have more authentic roots, as compared to Kung Fu Tea, let's say, I do wish they had some flavors (anything chocolate-y or Oreo typically does the trick) that catered to my childlike tastebuds. I have yet to try their food, which features avo toast, deviled egg, and other quick, healthy bites, so looks like I'll have to make another trip. :)

Yelp
I came to check out Uncharted Tea after learning the unfortunate news that my childhood boba spot, Bubble Maineia, had closed down and the owner returned to Taiwan. Uncharted is definitely catering to certain folks, with a sea themed menu and board games around the store for kids to play with. Not the most accessible spot, with a few stairs and doors to get into, and it may be more prudent to walk here if you can rather than try to find parking. I got the Kraken (Thai tea) with boba to cool myself down one day, and found it to be good but nothing crazy. The tapioca pearls were semi sweet but decently chewy. They do have other snacks and mochi, as well as wifi to do work here however there is music playing in addition to the noise of the machines and everything.

Yelp
If you need to step away from the chaos that can occasionally be downtown Portland, find this place! The space is lovely and what is not to love about tea! Friendly tea-tenders too!
google avatar

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
Loved Uncharted but I do wish it was easier to find parking for. The steps are steep to enter so be aware of that if you have mobility issues. This was my first time seeing a tea-machine that functions like an espresso machine. The teas are great and I wish I could try all the flavors. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We ordered a variety of bubble drinks. We had a black pearl, kraken, matcha latte, atlantis, naviago, great barrier reef, a hot matcha latte, jelly toast and a tomato toast. Service was excellent and prices were very good. The ambiance of the shop was very cozy and we sat a bigger wooden table and there were board games available. Overall it was a great place to sit down and try a variety of drinks and rest up.

Yelp
Gorgeous venue but drink fell short. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Staff was super friendly and drink came out quickly. **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Beautiful space with plenty of desk space to do work in natural lighting. **Price & portion, 4/5** Prices are a tad high for the area. **Taste of the food, 2/5** I got the mango and lychee with coconut milk at 75% sweet. Almost half the cup was ice, and the drink was wayyyy too sweet. Even after I let the ice melt, it was overwhelming. I also couldn't taste any coconut milk at all. **Other notes** Straws are compostable which is nice!

Yelp
Oh, the joyous bubble tea. Honestly, it's a weird drink. I love it though. So my local spot was voted best on the state, and Uncharted was voted best in Maine. We happened to eat right by so we decided to swing by. I got some passion fruit drink and it was pretty legit. My wife got a matcha latte and she loved it. The kids got some strawberry fruit tea with strawberry poppers. These weren't very sweet and my kids didn't really like it. I didn't really much care for it either if we're being honest. The people at the counter were nice, and the drinks came out quick. The place seemed like a cool spot to hang out as they had board games, book, and windows looking out toward the street. I'd go back if I were local, for sure.

Yelp
Delicious fresh and high quality tasting tea, and very helpful kind service. I had the taro drink (yummy bits of taro mixed in with the bubbles) and he had the lapsang souchong tea (nice and smoky, hint of seaweed), both made hot. The server was so patient and understanding with my questions about the menu and seemed genuinely happy to help. Such a lovely ambience to boot, I'd love to sit here and while with my coffee and a book (as a bonus, they have some books from green hand!). Already excited to come back when I'm next in Portland.

Jojo K.

Yelp
Superb! Love the mushroom hero tea. Will definitely be back to try the food. Love that they're open later that most spots but they're only open till 7, not 8. Laptop friendly, awesome staff!
google avatar

Yembur A.

Yelp
If I lived in Portland, I would be here allll the time! This may be one of my favorite bubble tea shops I've ever been to. The menu has so many creative flavor combinations and I love that everything is sea-themed. They also have great toasts and mochi ice cream. The employees were so friendly and wonderful. There's ample comfortable seating as well. Highly recommend getting a treat here on your Maine vacay!
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
Friend's kid wanted a Boba tea bad! So off we went to do a pickup. We got (4) teas. They were wonderful but they did run out of boba and we didn't have ten minutes to wait. The barista suggested lychee jelly instead because it was just as chewy as boba. Unfortunately what we didn't account for was the additional lychee flavor added to the drink. Unfortunately not a combo I'd appreciate.
google avatar

Gabriel A.

Yelp
Cute place with board games and spots to sit, chat, and enjoy tea. What an awesome find! Oh and I felt like their drinks were both delicious and creative.
google avatar

Joseph G.

Yelp
Good prices, good drinks, cozy seating and environment (soft music). A little heavy with the gay pride. Service was nice.
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
Cute tea shop! Lots of shop special signature teas and also the option to create your own! They options for food as well (toasts, pastries, etc). ~ My husband got the Kraken (3/5). Basically a Thai Tea with boba. The tea flavor was a little weak, and tasted milky. Might be because they use whole milk rather than half and half or cream like most other thai teas we have had. ~I made a custom tea (5/5): Unsweetened oolong with mango and boba. I opted for unsweetened because the mango and the boba would add sweetness, and it was just perfect. ~Morning bun (5/5): hybrid of a cinnamon roll and flaky croissant. SO GOOD
google avatar

Tiff W.

Yelp
I got the Kraken (Thai tea with no boba). The staff was friendly and quick and handled the fairly long line with ease. My drink was tasty. The only downside is this place is super cold! I had planned to hang out and read a bit but it was freezing inside so I decided to take my drink to go. They have a bunch of games so this could be a good spot to meet up with friends as long as you bundle up.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
I dropped by this boba tea shop having reading the reviews on Yelp. It was about a 15 minute walk from Exchange Street so it's definitely a hike. The tea shop was definitely contemporary and cute. After looking through the menu, I decided to try the Zephyr boba tea since I like osmanthus a lot. It is made with osmanthus tea, macadamia milk, boba, and brown sugar. The boba tea was unfortunately very disappointing. First of, how can a boba tea not have any ice? More importantly, the boba was very chewy and way undercooked.
google avatar

May C.

Yelp
Super cute boba spot in Maine. I was in Maine for a day trip and was surprised to find this boba spot in town. There's metered street parking. I really liked the original drink flavors and the option to build your own drink. They make many of the drinks with oat milk by default so that was a pleasant surprise. The indoor seating spots were super cute! Got there in the afternoon rush so we didn't sit in, but would definitely try to next time we are in town.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Great service, delicious bubble tea, but there is no parking, and ordering online is a must! If you don't, you'll wait forever for your order. The app is very easy to use, and has lots of customization options.
google avatar

Helena Q.

Yelp
I had the taro, black tea, oatly, and boba drink hot (6.50+tax). Thoroughly meh, not much flavor (of either tea or taro) and served nearly cool. Bubbles were mushy outside and flavorless. The price is good, but not much else.
google avatar

Rosie W.

Yelp
Lots of vegan drinks and delicious avocado toast with crispy chick peas. Relaxing ambiance. Friendly service. They have vegan mochi ice cream which I've never seen before. I didn't try it but I might come back tomorrow to check it out.
google avatar

Hilary N.

Yelp
I am a bobaphile through and through, and Uncharted is doing some really special stuff. I am a sucker for fresh brewed teas, and I appreciate the limited--not exhaustive--list of toppings. One of my favorite drinks is the Mariana Trench (taro and oolong), a combination I have never seen anywhere else. I have spent hundreds of dollars at Uncharted over the past few years, and am a big fan of Michael and his people, so it pains me to say that recently something has changed. The last few times I've gone, my orders have been incorrect or needed an adjustment, like leaving boba out of a drink that always comes with boba, or adding popping boba to the wrong drink. I guess I'm puzzled about this because in the past, the quality and care have been consistently high, and this feels like a recent departure from that standard. I'll keep frequenting this oasis within the boba desert of ME, but I am hoping for a return to a more consistently high quality experience.

Daina W.

Yelp
Service is great, beverages are underwhelming and watery. I recommend you go to this spot anytime before school lets out, as it becomes *the* hotspot for loud middle school kids. Not a very good place to get work done like most cafes I've been to. Air conditioning is always blasting, which is great for days like today where it is in the 90s. In the fall/winter, not so much.
google avatar

Rina A.

Yelp
When I first walked in, I was welcomed with a smile by 2 people at the counter. The service was fast and they have such a variety to pick from here. My drink was delicious, and I question if I got the wrong boba though. The chart says Strawberry Boba, but I think what I got was Tapioca as it was really chewy and didnt taste like strawberry itself. This place is definitely a really good tea spot. Also seems to be the go-to spot for some people to hang out or do their work at. There were different spots and areas where you could sit that was spread around. This is definitely a walk-up to building as it's right on Congress Street with constant traffic and only a few available street parking spots if you're lucky. They didn't have anything available in the fridge, but they had labels for some quick grab to go foods, too.
google avatar

Maya R.

Yelp
Great spot in town, not too far from anything else. I like to walk around downtown and then grab boba here. Classic milk tea is always my favorite but they have some other great options as well. Inside is really nice, lots of seating and games as well to play while waiting for your order. Great location, great service, great boba!

Ryan B.

Yelp
Great spot to sit and read and write. Staff are friendly and responsive. Tea is excellent (tumeric chai in particular). Lots of light, lots of space to sit, rarely crowded or noisy.
google avatar

Yutin Z.

Yelp
Great service and unique options! I ordered a Sea Smoke With Maple Syrup and oat milk! The drink was good but definitely has a smoky aftertaste. There are many options to choose from and you can even create a custom drink. They offer seaweed tea and a variety of milks to choose from!
google avatar

Joann L.

Yelp
I saw this place on Yelp and knew that I wanted to stop by because the drinks looked amazing and the place itself looked pretty aesthetic. You can order online and then pick up (which is what we did) or you can also order in person. They were fairly busy when I got there on a Tuesday afternoon. They have a pretty extensive drink menu (ranging from bubble tea to regular tea to coffee) and they also have different types of toast options for those who were interested. We decided to get the: Dirty Thai - which is essentially thai tea with coffee and it was a pretty unique flavoring but I felt like it just fell flat. It tasted a bit watered down and was just overall missing something. Not a bad drink but I don't think that I would get it again. The Abyss - which was oolong tea with brown sugar syrup and boba. The boba was okay - they were sweet but not chewy enough for my liking but the drink itself was pretty good. My only compliant was that it was a bit sweet even when I picked 75% sugar option. Overall - they have pretty interesting drink options and definitely a lot of alternative milk options; I just think that the drink options I picked weren't the right ones for me.

Yelp
During the starts of COVID I was out with my daughter running errands. She said she was craving bubble tea! I said, " Oh I just saw something about a bubble tea place on FB but I am not sure if they are open or if they are maybe doing curbside" She was on it! Found their web page placed our orders and paid for it all on line! We did find the location but had to loop the block a few times so I could park and she run into grab our take out order. We enjoyed them!
google avatar

Gigi J.

Yelp
A super cute cafe! Their healthier take on boba with non-dairy drinks like oat milk, soy, almond milk is so refreshing! The interiors display unique art work for sale by local artists.
google avatar

Kevino C.

Yelp
Great service, the workers were very nice. The place is cute and has a bookshelf that you can take books to read from. A good study spot location. The drinks are reasonably priced and cheaper than most boba shops in Maine. The boba is also well made unlike some other places I have been to so that is a plus. Great taste and huge sizes. Definitely will be coming back. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Terrilynn D.

Yelp
A sunny café setting with beautiful wood and copper tables. The workers aren't harried and are friendly to each customer. If it gets busy the line flow to the counter is cumbersome (moving the couch might help) About $5 for a bubble tea with a variety of flavors. The tea is fresh brewed in an espresso type machine. The tapioca "bubbles" are just right. Flavors are pretty good but since they're made with a syrup it has a different effect than the powdered flavors. A hint more cloying for my palette I guess I'm more accustomed to the first bubble teas I got. Good bubble teas for the price.
google avatar

Corbin D.

Yelp
This place is great. The tea is spectacular. The location is nice and is a great place to have a rest while walking around Portland.
google avatar

Elise L.

Yelp
Service - awesome humans who are kind and good at what they do. Ambiance - cute and made cuter by clientele that uncharted attracts. Boba - delicious and consistent, very customizable. Snacks - I have only been satisfied. Good flavors and freshness.
google avatar

Chu H.

Yelp
We found boba tea in Maine! They had boba tea with oat milk as an option which is interesting and my friend said that it tastes just like regular boba tea. I appreciate that they have some Asian flavors like kumquat as an option there. Not many boba te spots in Maine and so this was a solid option to get me and my friends boba tea fix! It's good! Also, the interior design was very unique and modern!
google avatar

Timothy C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick drink to refresh us on a hot day with lots of walking. This place caught my eye since there weren't many bubble tea places in the area. It had a nice, relaxing ambiance and looked like a great place to just relax for a while or hang out with friends. They even have some boardgames you can play. The drinks were good and fulfilled my bubble tea craving. Would definitely visit again the next time we visit Portland.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
I love their bubble tea. My favorite is the Black Pearl tea. It's dairy free and sweetened with maple syrup.
google avatar

CJ J.

Yelp
Good tea. As good as gentrified boba can be. Love the space from the widow seat to the glass art on the exterior.
google avatar

Yelp
Watered down piss water drinks awful Same old boring hipster garbage Over priced , not worth the bother

Thuy P.

Yelp
uncharted tearritory! i like the unique flavors and combinations of boba at this bubble tea shop. i ordered the mariana in the trenches oolong taro boba with oat milk. i enjoyed it very quickly! i wish the oolong flavor was a little more noticeable but the taro hit the spot. i also highly appreciate that most of the drink menu is vegan, no modifications needed!
google avatar

Andy K.

Yelp
Wow, lots and lots of love for this place on here, and I feel bad about leaving this kind of rating. I honestly think it's just personal preference. The branding of Uncharted, the vibe, the aesthetic, the ambience of the establishment- it's all great. The drinks however... frankly not quite my cup of tea (haha). The drinks tasted watered down, and I didn't find it particularly enjoyable. The other aspects of the establishment have my respect, and so it's a 3/5 for me. If you like adventurous, experimental flavors with boba, this place might do it for you. If you like classic milk flavored boba, I don't think this is quite it.
