The 9 Best Bagels In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This casual spot in the Sunset has breakfast down to a science. Cases are full of donuts and pastries, but you’re coming here for the bagel sandwiches loaded with vegetables, lox, or sausage, egg, and cheese. The creamy, well-seasoned lox schmear is a standout. And because breakfast is always better when you're wired off excess amounts of caffeine, you'll want to snag one of their extra-strong Vietnamese iced coffees." - julia chen 1

The Best Donuts In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Uncle Benny’s in the Sunset is a great spot for a quick breakfast—they have tons of bagel sandwiches, coffee, and fresh juices. But chances are very high that something from their neatly organized case of colorful, fresh-made donuts will call to you. They focus on classic flavors here, like apple fritters, sprinkle donuts, glazed old fashioneds, and maple bacon, all of which will immediately send sugar coursing through your veins, in the best way. Fill a big box with an assortment of flavors and take it across the street to Golden Gate Park." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

Uncle Benny’s Donut & Bagel - Review - Sunset - San Francisco - The Infatuation

The Best Restaurants In The Sunset - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"There are some days when we crave a small donut or just a few donut holes. And then there are others when we simply need to devour a face-sized fritter (the shop’s true highlight) or an arm-length Tiger Tail. Uncle Benny’s covers all these bases. Despite the consistent high quality of everything on the menu, prices haven’t changed much here in the last decade. You can pair your donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and omelets with coffee, a smoothie, or something fun from the refrigerated case, including jasmine green tea and aloe juice." - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway, Will Kamensky, Tamara Palmer, Ricky Rodriguez

The Best Doughnut Shops in San Francisco | Eater SF

"This straightforward Sunset shop doesn’t skimp on portion size. Behind its glass pastry case lie foot-long apple fritters and cinnamon-crusted “tiger tails.” Uncle Benny’s still boasts some of the most fairly priced pastries in the city, with its average doughnut costing about a dollar or so." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
So delicious I fully forgot to take a picture before digging in. The donuts and bagels were incredibly fresh and nicely toasted without being burnt. As you can see they put a decent amount of meat on your order. We came in around 9:30am and experienced no line but as time went on around 10am it began to get very busy. It’s a really nice place to stop by and get something to go or sit down if tables permit. Would highly recommend.

Google
The taste is amazing, I ordered a California club sandwich and it tasted heavenly. Although it was a bit expensive or a sandwich about 7 inches. The interior looked a bit old and played weird music it was okay. Over all I would give it a 4 star rating.

Google
Ok breakfast sandwiches, didn’t love the bacon it was a bit too dry, on the bacon sausage and cheese. It really suffered from not having egg. The lox and cream cheese bagel was a bit pricier, but much better. They also have pretty good donuts. The listed price for a half dozen is tough to hit as you can only get the simplest donuts.

Google
This place is good they open very early for those who like catch the sunrise. It looks clean and there are many tables inside but I feel that most people that come here just take it to go.They have some drinks like coffee and smoothies which I thought were pretty decent (although they don't have milk alternatives) For the bagels and donuts they have many options and they're all yummy. Fast/friendly service and fair price.

Google
Another neighborhood favorite for a reason. Probably one of the best Donut shops in the sunset district. They open super early and are open pretty much late in the afternoon/evening. Ladies over the counter are super friendly. Haven’t tried their Bagels yet but their donuts and sandwiches are real treat.

Google
Used to be my favorite local spot but it's kind of fallen off. The operations seem overloaded relative to the amount of delivery business they're getting so service has slowed while prices have increased considerably. Last time, I had to remind them to make both of the sandwiches I ordered because they tried to send me away with only 1 and then didn't apologize for the error. Also it took 25 minutes. So as a "pop in an grab quick takeout" place it's really lost it's luster for me, sadly

Google
Looking for simple breakfasts that we could potentially eat on the go. We ended up dining inside. We were floored by how good (and huge) the bagel sandwiches are. The kids ordered donuts for dessert as well. Two of them chose the fresh squeezed orange and watermelon juices for drinks and were visibly amazed at how good they tasted. The woman who took our order was patient as it was our first time. Our items were ready in a reasonable amount of time. We were more than satisfied with our order. There was surprisingly enough seating for everyone who wanted it; there was a constant stream of customers coming through. Highly recommend.

Google
Open at 4am for my late night cravings and they gave me a free donut. I love you guys. The sandwiches are solid and they have huge portions. The smoothies aren’t too sweet and are so refreshing. Edit: THE DONUT IS CRISPY The salmon cream cheese bagel is so good. The best bahn mi I’ve had in the area. Generous amount of varying meats and pickled radish. Cinnamon roll is huge and crispy. The almond milk and soy milk tasted house made, the taste is fresh and very bold.

Yelp
I bite into a pillowy jelly donut, its sugar glaze cracking and feel the pop of wild blueberries as they burst in my mouth. Delicious... Edge to edge, the inside of this donut is bursting with at least a 1/4 cup of delicious fruit preserves. You may never have had a jelly donut as good! Their sandwiches are great, made to order, the coffee will have your eyebrows arch ("Man, that's a great cup of coffee!) It's clean, the staff is pleasant and organized, prices are reasonable. I don't know how they put together everything so quickly and ring you up. One of my favorite businesses in San Francisco, try it!

Yelp
Uncle Benny's Donut & Bagel is my go-to spot whenever I'm in the Sunset area! This cozy café serves a great variety of fresh donuts, made-to-order sandwiches, and bagels with cream cheese, making it a perfect stop for a quick and satisfying bite. They also have coffee on tap, and I especially love their organic dark roast Kona coffee--rich, bold, and always freshly brewed. One of the best things about this place is how affordable it is. They open very early, which fits my routine perfectly. I love stopping by right after a trip to the post office, grabbing a coffee and a snack, and either relaxing at one of their tables inside or heading straight to Pineapple King for some fresh buns. The interior is warm and inviting, with a comfortable, no-frills charm that makes it a great place to unwind. The staff here are fantastic--always friendly, efficient, and quick on their feet. The pretty ladies working behind the counter move fast, keeping the line moving even during busy hours. Their service is always top-notch, making the experience even better. If you're in the Sunset area and need a reliable spot for a solid breakfast, great coffee, and friendly vibes, Uncle Benny's is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Maybe we didn't order the right things, but how is this place reviewed so highly? We ordered $20 worth of goods. The donuts were alright. I'm not sure what the hype was. Perhaps it's also because I had a Krispy Kreme donut not too long ago that was fresh off the line and just baked. The black coffee here I don't recommend. They said they just made it within the past hour but wow did it taste burnt. It also stays remarkably hot for over an hour (with the lid off). Overall, this place is cash only unless you spend $5 I believe. The ambiance of this place is chill and people seem to just enjoy hanging out here. There's also remixes of songs playing over the TV. Overall, it was a fine place, but just don't get the black coffee.

Yelp
WHERE HAS THIS PLACE BEEN ALL MY LIFE???? My boyfriend and I went to try this shop out of craving bagels and donuts, and behold: best spot I've had! I got their chicken sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and dang did they pack it all and didn't hold back. We also got a maple donut and a blueberry filled glazed donut. The blueberry bagel donut was so good, typically they're sour but the blueberries were so sweet and fresh. I go back regularly for those. What I love about this place is how friendly everyone is here. When we go, seems like all the employees have regular customers. They do a great job making it feel like home. It's clean and if you need something they're all extremely nice. We come every week to bring our apartment donuts! Love Uncle Benny's!

Yelp
Ordered it Togo! Love amount of ingredients they add to their bagels. Have tables there that you can sit down and enjoy your sandwich, not a fancy place but great to get a quick bite with some cheap options.

Yelp
Uncle Benny's Donut & Bagel is a great breakfast and snack spot. The location is ideal, with ample meter parking and a laid back, comfy interior. They open much earlier than most businesses in the area, so it's nice to go in early to avoid any crowds and get the freshest donut/bagel, since they're made daily. Unless it's the weekend morning it doesn't get too crowded or noisy, and there's lots of table room available making it an ideal study spot, though there aren't any available outlets so you should bring your devices fully charged or a portable charger. Their donuts are the best in the area, both in terms of flavor/quality and price point. My personal favorite is the apple fritter, and you should definitely heed the staff recommendation to have it warmed. The exterior is crunchy, with a thin glaze, and the interior is soft and doughy. The fresh apple flavor perfectly balances the richness of the donut batter. Their bagels are equally delicious, with my personal favorite being the Asiago, which seems to be popular because if I go too late in the day sometimes they are all sold out. They have the widest variety of cream cheese I've seen from a singular restaurant yet, with eight flavors and a hummus spread. The sun dried tomato flavor is the best in my opinion. There is a wide variety of savory options on the menu, with over a dozen sandwiches available, though their bánh mì is the clear standout. The meat is perfectly seasoned and the accompanying veggies (carrots, cucumber, daikon & cilantro) taste very fresh. The bread has the perfect crust to doughy interior ratio, and the pate added offers a nice richness. If you're a fan of strong coffee I'd recommend going ahead and get the combo offered with a Vietnamese coffee (hot or cold). Uncle Benny's is a staple spot in Outer Sunset. I've been going for close to four years now, and I have friends who have been customers for decades that attest the same. The portions are generous, the menu is varied and the price point is easily the best in the area. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I often find freebie donut holes in my bag. It's definitely one of the best spots in the city. 10/10, would recommend and will come again :).

Yelp
I was craving a donut and stopped by here since the yelp check- in offer was getting 1 free glaze donut with a $5 minimum purchase. Their glaze donut tasted fresh and I loved how it wasn't a dense donut. I also tried their Vietnamese iced coffee and pork banh mi. The coffee was delicious since I love Vietnamese iced coffee! Their banh mi was surprisingly delicious! It had lots of pate and pork, and the bread was light & toasty. I definitely recommend trying their banh mi. Service was fast and staff were nice! This place has tons of seating to eat inside, and I believe there are no bathrooms here.

Yelp
An older establishment, and a go-to for many. + Matcha Cake Donut: quite oily, but surprisingly good! Amazing when toasted with a strong matcha flavor (8.5/10)

Yelp
pricey for donut shop. Donuts are cold coffee is good Found others can save a little

Yelp
Their Bagel Sandwich was huge!! I ordered #15-Veggie Sandwich! Made FRESH and so satisfying! Had it served with a Jalapeno/Cheddar Bagel! Definitely going back for more!

Yelp
When you walk in it gives a feeling of a old fashioned donut shop with glass counters with donuts inside. You are greeted with a smile. They offer donuts, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, coffee, and assorted beverages. You can sit down or take out. I use to go there early in the morning before work and were surprised they were opened so early. Sometimes you would see some cops get donuts or coffee. Food: Their sandwiches are made well and full of ingredients. A little steep in price but it does seem worth it because you leave full. Donuts and sandwiches are fresh but a little on the high side with pricing. This place is good if you want to grab a sandwich or a coffee.

Yelp
The americano is strong and has deep flavor. I was sipping it for a while, the taste stayed solid even after going cold. Good basic donut, not overly sugary. The vibe is tremendous here. There's grandpas hanging out while edm plays on the speakers. The workers are very nice and helpful. I like that they sell everything here. You can get banh mi, breakfast, or other lunch meals Coming back whenever I'm in the area

Yelp
Donuts are fresh and delicious! Staff is friendly and the music is bumping. Apple fritter and cake crumb are the favorites.

Yelp
Door dashed when I forgot pastry for the SO. They threw in another donut (thank you!). The glazed old fashioned, chocolate yeast and the croissant were delicious! Definitely will come back when we are in town.

Yelp
Busy place. Good selection of breakfast sandwiches, coffees, donuts and bagels. Parking can be a challenge.

Yelp
Great service and donuts are the best. Good selection of bagels also. Lots of parking before 7am

Yelp
I love this place. This place is really an act of community practice. They are all very nice, work hard, and quick to respond. We got a coffee and some donut holes. We loved all of them. The coffee is perfectly bittersweet. I am not a coffee person, but really liked it. The donut holes are also good. What's more impressive is the decor of this place. They really took time to decorate and give fall and Halloween vibes. I will definitely come back next Sunday. It is nice to see people chat here with smiles.

Yelp
Date: Monday, November 20th, 2023 Meal: Lunch Delivery for 2 people Time Ordered: around 12pm Time Arrived: around 12:30pm Our Neighborhood: Outer Richmond How: DoorDash (DD) *Sliced Lox & Cream Cheese Sandwich: Capers, Cream Cheese ($12.75) *Fill Bar ($3.25) *Cake Donut ($2.35) *Ham, Cheese, Egg, & Bacon: Everything ($10.75) *Glaze Donut ($2.75) *Old Fashioned Donut ($2.35) *BBQ Banh Mi ($9.25) If craving a bagel, donuts, and a banh mi, Uncle Benny will come to the rescue! I'm guessing that's why I decided to order from here? They make a solid bagel and lox. And the custard filled bar definitely hits that donut spot. I can't remember anything about the vietnamese sandwich, so I won't comment on that. But I think they have pate since I normally won't order one without it. I rarely crave the combo of donuts and bagels, but when I do, I'm glad Benny is around.

Yelp
Uncle Benny's is our goto spot for Iced Coffee. They make a Vietnamese style Iced Coffee that is absolutely delicious. We typically will come here for lunch. I always get the BLT bagel on a toasted plain. It has a generous portion of bacon, which is what I love. In addition to coffee and bagels, Uncle Benny's also offers donuts. The most popular donut by far is the Ube Donut. Its exotic and delicious. And at $1.75 its not too expensive. Also try the Matcha Cake Donut. Wow, is it heavy. Its like a meal in-and-of-itself, but its worth the calories. The service here is fantastic and quick. And the ambiance is above what one would expect for a bagel joint.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Wideee variety of donuts and breakfast options as well as coffee drinks. I was only here for donuts. At 7:30am, there were already several customers in the shop. The staff was prompt, friendly and helpful. She attended to each customer asap with a great attitude. I was looking for a maple french crueller but a french crueller and a maple buttermilk donut will do! The french crueller had more of a bite and not as soft and eggy on the inside as some like Happy Donut but it was good as well. The maple buttermilk is quite sweet, yes I know it is maple, sweeter than I'm used to. And that is one dense donut, more cakey in some areas than others. Would love to come back to try all the many other goodies here.

Yelp
Uncle Benny's is such a classic gem! As a child of immigrants that came to the US and opened up donut shop family businesses, places like this really hit home for me. Ordered: #12 Turkey, ham, bacon, egg, and cheese on a cheddar bagel: super thick with meat and piping hot. The cheese pull-- so GOOD. Bagels feel homemade and are a good size. Not mad at all. $13 sausage, bacon, cheddar on an Asiago bagel: wow when I say there was a mountain of bacon, there was straight up like 6 pieces of bacon. I loved it. Could have maybe used some cream cheese or "sauce" of sorts to tie in the dry crunchy bacon but I was not complaining. Also got a maple bar, chocolate bar, and jelly filled glaze and they were kind enough to give us a free glaze donut!! Super sweet employees with a loyal clientele that come in. Love it!!
google avatar

Grant W.

Yelp
Uncle Benny's offers some amazing donuts at an excellent price! The service is excellent, and there is plenty of space inside to grab a table and relax. Plus it's very close to Golden Gate Park! And how are the donuts? Well I said they were amazing before and it's no joke! I got their maple buttermilk donut and it was absolute perfection. The perfect crispiness on the outside from the frier, and the interior was so moist! The flavor too was superb having a nice sweetness to it that was not overwhelming, but most importantly letting that subtle buttermilk taste really come through. This place is just excellent and I am now looking to having it on my weekly go to spots!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
This is an awesome little place with amazing service. The donuts here are so fresh and tasty also, but the breakfast sandwiches stole the show. It's definitely not a fancy place, but it's friendly and the food is all that matters!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a bagel sandwich, so when I came across bagel sandwiches walking distance from my BFs, I knew I'd be making a stop here soon. I was surprised to see just how big this place was, and to go along with the large space, came a large menu. There were 29 sandwich options, a case full of donuts, bagels, and pastries, and a menu board that also boasted smoothies and coffee, among other drink options. With so many options, and no recognizable order to the sandwich menu (breakfast and regular sandwiches were all mixed together), it took a few minutes to decide. I ended up ordering the #29 which was labeled as a "bacon, egg, and cheese", though I could tell in the picture it came with a bit more. It ended up coming with the fore-mentioned, as well as mayo, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and ham. My boyfriend ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich, not the #29, and it ended up coming out exactly how he ordered it. So, if you do want just the specified items, make sure you ask for them! Overall, I enjoyed my sandwich. It was much bigger than I was expecting, and a little more expensive than I thought ordering a breakfast bagel sandwich would be, but it was filling and really loaded. If I come back I'll order by ingredient instead of from the menu board.

Yelp
I'm still thinking about the tiger tail doughnut from here. It was so good. The size of it was massive. I got the pesto, sausage, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel. It came out steaming hot and it was delicious. My boyfriend got a garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese. This one was just okay. We found that the garlic bagel was a little too overpowering. I will definitely be coming back for the tiger tail and the pesto breakfast sandwich.

Yelp
Uncle Benny sounds like the name of a gangsta. "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." Or maybe..."Leave the change. Take the donut". At least that was my very un-Godfather-like experience with this Uncle Benny. Well, I wasn't sure he was there since a friendly woman served my simple order of a $4 Coffee and a $1.75 Ube Donut (photo: https://bit.ly/3j7NQrH). It could've been the gentleman sitting opposite me at a cafe table. Y'see, the place was rather crowded with customers who didn't appear to be in a hurry to go anywhere. Yeah, it's that kind of place, but that's OK. I can take it to go and eat my donut in the woods of Golden Gate Park. By the way, the donut hit the spot. So did the coffee for some reason. Uncle Benny doesn't need to go to the mattresses to get me to come back. I'll just leave the change and take the donut. DONUT - 4 stars...love me an ube donut AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...kinda packed but not much turnover SERVICE - 4 stars...attentive server, Uncle Benny hired good TOTAL - 4 stars..."Leave the change. Take the donut." RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2EI8eIJ

Yelp
I've been coming to Uncle Benny's since I was a kid and their donuts still taste as delicious as they did 10 years ago! They have the best donut holes that I've ever had! They're light and fluffy without being too oily. This place always has great service and it's fun to see the morning crowd come in for their breakfast before heading off to work. If you're looking for a donut spot, this is it! You really can't go wrong with anything here :)

Yelp
"I have insecurities of course, but I don't hang out with anyone who points them out to me." - Adele Uncle Benny's Donut and Bagels is my go to spot when Twisted is closed (Monday & Tuesday), I'm cruising the Sunset district and jonesing for donuts in the early mornings, while listening to Adele. Surround yourself with love and no negative energy is important for one's soul. That donut surely helps! I'm not even sure who Uncle Benny is, or if Benny is related to Uncle Tetsu that hangs out at the malls, but every time I walk into the donut shop, I'm greeted by the friendliest ladies. None have beards or have Uncle looks... instead all are really kind, cheery, and efficient. The type of service you want when you're in need of coffee and donut stat! I've had several types, but my favorite is the Boston cream filled donut. Definitely on point! I usually love maple bacon, however my go-to fav at Twisted, falls short with Benny. Skimpy on the bacon and just an overall meh donut here. The coffee is average coffee brew. I only go French roasted with donuts. I guess the big plus with Uncle Benny's is the price point, almost an entire extra donut can be had here versus Twisted and other higher end donut shops. Also, seating is plentiful as mandates have been lifted, tables generously spaced apart. In the end, I'd recommend Uncle Benny's to anyone craving donuts. They also serve a bunch of croissant sandwiches and bagel combinations too. Maybe on my next trip I'll go the savory route. All good, just no donut oomph, 2nd choice if Twisted is closed. Did I tell you I was in the movie, Twisted? Ok I'll stop lol...

Yelp
Our local, go to breakfast spot. The staff is amazing & of course, the food is delicious especially for the price. Get the vietnamese iced coffee if you want a real caffeine hit :)

Yelp
Great hours, fast and friendly service, and decently tasty bagels. The store was clean when I arrived around 5am and the shelves were full! I ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich, an apple fritter, a coffee, and grabbed a couple bottles of water. $21. Definitely a good value. Just not 5 star good!

Yelp
Great customer service. Staff is very friendly and they work in a lively environment. The doughnuts are fresh and the coffee is not bad. Just be advised that the business is in a busy area. Parking can get tough.

Yelp
While Bob's Donuts has long garnered the attention of Bay Area residents Uncle Benny's Donut and Bagel has no less fervent a following, hours from 4am until 5pm daily finding the Outer Sunset venue baking and frying from early until late to keep up with demand. Fast and friendly in terms of service, seven items including soft orbs covered in Glaze bagged for just over $8, Yeast Bars are fluffy beneath typical Glazes while Crullers eat eggy yet slightly sweeter than many. "Sold Out" of Fritters at 7:30am on Christmas, the crowd among festive decorations admittedly more than expected, additional selections were of the Cake variety and found Ube virtually indistinguishable from Vanilla save for its color while both the Butternilk Bar and Old Fashioned cog-wheel were similar to those found at any Cambodian shop in So.Cal.

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday before 7 AM on an emergency donut run -- needed a couple dozen for my kid's school birthday. Why are multiple donut places closed on Tuesdays? It was my first time at Uncle Benny's and they were competent, easy, cheerful, and gave me donut holes. That is really exactly the right note for a donut emergency. The donuts are great (I favor plain glazed still warm from the oven, which these were not but still delicious) and the cases show a wide attractive variety. The place was already full of regulars at that early time who I suspect come for the savories. Will find out next time :)

Yelp
The best Donuts and food in San Francisco! The staff are really friendly and the prices are low. This place is an asset to the neighborhood. I bring my friends and relatives here to eat. Keep up the good work and I will keep singing your praise.

Yelp
The best donuts IMO are located at a small store called Royal Donuts next to the Burlingame Cal Train station. Fresh and inexpensive considering today's prices for donuts. We could not make it down to Burlingame last week. And Donut World on Judah & 9th Ave. were closed for some reason the day we went. Donut World charges much more than Royal Donuts where one can buy a dozen variety for only a little over $20; they include either free donut holes or one donut depending on the total. So we ended up going to Uncle Benny's. First of all, the donut display looked haphazard. What we ordered were just basic donuts including glazed, old fashioned, crumble, and decided to try green tea old fashioned. For around 10 donuts we paid over $33! The green tea donut tasted nasty like soggy stale and had a perfume sort of flavor. It was totally inedible to me, I ended up tossing it.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few years. Love this spot small latte with oat milk and my sesame bagel with light cream cheese with avocado 10/10 . As for sweets I like the old fashion donuts, apple fritter and obviously all the chocolate donuts

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Uncle Benny's! The very first time I ordered from here, Charlie made it a point to ask for my name and actually remembered my name 2 weeks later when I came back! He also introduced me to his team Lily and Lynn (or Linh)! They made me feel so welcomed and that's why I go to them and have told many people I come across about them. They wake up at 3am to make their various homemade bagels and cream cheese. My favorite combo so far has been the pesto bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. Their Vietnamese coffee is really good too. Overall, EVERYTHING is good! This mom & pop store is a must if you're in the area or even in SF in general!

Yelp
This is a early morning gem! Friendly service, good food, and lots of options. The matcha and ube cake donuts are great! The store feels welcoming and has a great ambiance. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Not all bagels are created equally, only a few bagels will be brought up in conversation later, and only one bagel will be on my mind after two weeks. Uncle Benny's donut and bagels where so amazing that I went two weeks ago and still long for the delicious bites, crunchy mouth feel, and impeccable nourishment. I'll one day tell my kids about this. The staff was so kind, the food was immaculate, my only complaint was my sandwich shrunk every time I bit into it.

Yelp
I love this place. It's become a morning ritual to grab something most mornings for a good cup of coffee, donuts and a sandwich. Do. Not. Count out the sandwiches. They've all been generously portioned and never disappointed with anything I've grabbed off their menu. The folks working behind the counter are super nice and hard work

Yelp
This place is on my list for a breakfast sandwich - but this review is only for the donut holes. These are some EXCELLENT donut holes, and at $2 for a half dozen, probably one of the cheapest snacks in the city. Or breakfasts. No judgement there! Will definitely be coming back to try more donuts and that breakfast sandwich. How could I not?

Yelp
I'm kicking myself for never coming here until now. I have walked by so many times just from grocery shopping or eating on the Irving strip. lately I have been craving bagels (no, I'm not preggers). after being disappointed about a newly opened overly hyped bagel joint on Irving and 10th Ave, I yelped search for bagels and Uncle Benny was on the top of the list. I absolutely love the fact that it is opened at 4am so technically I can come here during my lunch break as a night shift ICU nurse working at UCSF on Parnassus. Such a close drive and will satisfy my hunger and cravings. can grabs a dozen or two of donuts to treat my fellow colleagues for a long night of hard work (12.5hrs shift) There is actually way too many options of donuts, pastries, sandwiches, bagels, caffeine drinks, and even smoothies. it is eye candies every time I come here and just want it all! I'm slowly working my way through the bagel flavors and have gotten the Vietnamese combination twice already. all been tasty. the ladies that works here are all so young, nice and hardworking so tip them for busting their butts to keep the service fast and efficient. I keep forgetting to get the free donut for checking in with Yelp! next time! sometimes during certain time of the day, it is a little hard to find a table because the elderly retired men likes to hang out with their coffee and pastries and chat. don't blame them, I would do the same too if I was enjoying the retired life.
