Review on a Saturday soon after opening at 11. The restaurant was about half full and we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and sweet. Our order only took 5-10 minutes to come out. Everything was flavorful, some of the best soup dumplings I've had. Cucumber salad was refreshing and a great palette cleanser in between. Spicy beef shank was tender and paired so well with the cabbage. My friend got the beef noodles and he enjoyed it very much. Will be coming back for sure!

I recently had the pleasure of having Uncle Dumpling cater my baby shower, and I cannot say enough amazing things about them! From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless. Their communication with allowing us to pick up this large order from the restaurant was easy and made planning this special event anxiety-free. The team was so professional, accommodating, and genuinely excited to be part of our special day! And the food was perfect! Every dumpling was a little bite of heaven. You could truly taste the love and craftsmanship in each one. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the dumplings. Everything was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Uncle Dumpling helped make our celebration feel warm, joyful, and incredibly delicious. They truly went above and beyond, and I can’t recommend them highly enough for any event or even just a casual night when you’re craving the best dumplings around. Thank you for making my baby shower so memorable!

This place was so yummy! However their AC broke down so it was a little hot! But other than that, the head waitress who took our order was fast and efficient, our drinks and food came very quickly. Here is what I recommend: Potstickers Pork Xiao Long bao Pork and shrimp Xiao long bao Cucumber salad Fungus salad Pan fried juicy pork steamed buns Sesame balls Fried golden buns with condensed milk I really wanted to try the salt and pepper fried squid as I saw another table order it and it looked absolutely delicious. We did order the veggie dumplings, however I felt that they lacked flavor, where as everything else was seasoned well, this was the only miss that we ordered. They also have a glass windows that faces the diners so you can watch them make the dumplings, it is pretty cool, and gives kiddos something to watch while they wait for their food, and the adults something to look at too!

Nice little hole in the wall dumpling house. Dining room was clean, service was decent, food was excellent and flavorful. Windows to the cooking area was a nice touch, however the kitchen was pretty dirty! Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile! Dumpling makers had one glove on either hand, then were pressing the dumplings together with an ungloved hand. All in all was pretty good despite. 8/10!

Google
I got the spicy dumplings! Super flavorful and delicious! Not too spicy.. I would say it’s mild spicy with a little hit🌶️ we waited just 10 minutes for table .. service was excellent and quick!

While staying in the Sacramento area, this option came up in our search for dinner. We brought our two elementary age kids and had one of the best meals ever. We ordered 4 types of dumplings and one pan fried bao buns. They came out very hot and fresh. We could see everything being expertly made fresh in the kitchen window. The cucumber salad was refreshing, slightly sweet and with a touch of spice. We rounded the meal out with garlic noodles and opted for beef protein. Biggest hits: chicken dumplings, pork soup dumplings and the garlic noodles. Personally I also loved the pork & veggie dumplings too. Honestly, can’t go wrong!! The kids were able to get a mango smoothie without dairy and we all left full and happy. What a treat!

I was in Roseville when the dumpling craving hit. So I used Yelp to find nearby places. What da ya know, I found two dumpling places right across the street from each other. Me-nee mi-nee moe... I choose Uncle Dumpling due to no particular reason. Not a wrong choice at all. Great customer service, super cute interior, and delicious eats. To boot, the pricing was not outrageous. For the two of us, we ordered green beans, sesame balls, and chicken dumplings. The green beans were Chinese long beans wok stir fried with garlic and ground pork. Darn delicious! The beans had a nice blister to them and a freakin delicious flavor. What did they put into that sauce?!? Mmm. The sesame balls were ah-mazing as well. Luv eating them fresh n hot. Crisp exterior with a sweet bean paste interior, but not as very sweet. Bite size deliciousness. The steamed chicken dumplings had the classic look and taste. The dumpling skin had a nice thickness, not too thick or thin... just right. They provided a ginger soy dipping sauce that was divine. Great flavors going well with the dumplings. Also, they provided hot chili oil as well. Another cool thing about this place was that there is a glass viewing wall into the "dumpling making" section of the kitchen. Real human beings making dumplings the tried and true old fashion way... by hand. The staff work at a table directly facing the window so it could get a bit strange staring at folks looking at you.

Google
Best popcorn chicken ever! Omg craving for it as I type now 😂 xiao long baos were good (not great but still good). We got food from them during their soft opening probably a year or so ago. Eating take out and dining in was so much different. We got seated less than 5 minutes in a busy Saturday lunch hour. Servers are attentive but because it was busy, they were rushing. The place is a bit tight and can get really crowded esp during peak hours. Would go back for the popcorn chicken 😬

Yelp
Have you ever tried truffle squid ink xiao long bao with gold dust on top? Kristian and I just found our new dumpling obsession in Roseville -- Uncle Dumpling -- and omg, we went ALL in. First up, the cucumber salad -- crisp, refreshing, with that spicy-sour kick that makes it the perfect starter. Then spicy wontons stuffed with shrimp and pork... so flavorful. Pork potstickers -- crispy bottoms, juicy insides. We had to get the tofu with century eggs -- silky soft tofu + savory century egg + a drizzle of chili oil... heaven. Veggie dumplings? That bright green wrapper is filled with cloud ear mushrooms and it's as good as it looks. Now... the main star: truffle squid ink xiao long bao with gold dust. Rich, decadent, and totally worth the hype. We also got the truffle angus beef fried rice -- strong truffle aroma, gold leaf on top, total chef's kiss. Kristian went for the beef noodle soup -- hearty and soul-warming -- while I could not stop eating the garlic noodles... creamy, garlicky, addictive. And because we always have room for dessert -- chocolate xiao long bao with strawberry-chocolate filling and a cream dip . Plus my summer lychee drink and Kristian's mango smoothie to wrap up the night. This place? 10/10 -- we're definitely coming back.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin because I never even got any food. I walked in, sat down, and waited... and waited... and waited. Servers walked by me multiple times, made eye contact, and still--nothing. No menu, no water, no "we'll be right with you." I thought maybe it was one of those order-at-the-counter places. It wasn't. I sat for 45 minutes while other tables were seated, served, and happily eating. I felt invisible. Eventually I got up and asked if I should order somewhere, and the hostess just shrugged. I asked if someone was going to take my order and she just said, "Busy right now." There were empty tables and the place wasn't even half full. I left hungry, confused, and kind of offended. Save yourself the time and go somewhere that acknowledges you're a human being with a stomach.

Yelp
Know what to order! My dad and I came here recently in need of some decent soup and dumplings close to home. We love din tai fung which is another level of dumplings, but we hoped to get something at least similar. Service is very quick which is really nice. We ordered the cucumber salad, pork xiao long bao, shrimp and pork dumplings, beef noodle soup, and the jajang noodles. The cucumber salad is pickled so it's definitely on the sweet side. Still good, but the chili oil flavor does get kind of lost. The pork xlb is good and the size is great, but I will say that the soup itself is a little sooty. Like the scum that you normally skim off the top of the broth, is still kind of there. I prefer the dumplings a little more because of that. I wish they skimmed that so that the broth was cleaner. Other than that, my dad loves the beef noodle soup. Great flavor, very hearty but not heavy. What surprised me the most were the jajang noodles. I was expecting the black beans noodles that are typical on Korean and Chinese-Korean menus. It's actually more of a dandan noodle situation here. But honestly, it was the most surprising. It was so flavorful, the addition of the tomatoes and cucumbers were good, noodles cooked well, it's great. Highly recommend. Overall, there are definitely some other things we need to try, so we'll be back.

Yelp
The second I walked in, Cody C was very attentive and made sure I got seated and had what I needed right away. This included a menu, water, plate, chopsticks, napkins and a spoon. I was able to place my order in a reasonable amount of time. I had to get the scallion pancake, sesame balls, chicken dumplings and summer lychee tea. Everything was made fresh to order and tasted delicious. For a place so small, this is sure worth it! The interior is decorated beautifully. I love that customers can see what the kitchen is up to. I went right when they opened at 11 and was seated right away. During my time there, a big party of 6 showed up, there were a couple parties of 2 and a few to go orders. There's plenty of parking in the lot by the surrounding businesses and there's a restroom in the back inside the restaurant. I highly recommend you check out Uncle Dumpling because they have great customer service, their food is absolutely delicious and the environment is cozy and fun.

Yelp
Immediately greeted and seated, server was very kind and attentive. Very knowledgeable about menu items and gave great recommendations. Space is very clean, warm lighting, and nice decor. There's a clear screen between the kitchen and dining area so you can watch how they make the dumplings. The food came out pretty quickly. Everything was hot and fresh, very flavorful. The garlic noodles were so yummy! Fan favorite across the board, the garlic flavor was present but not too overpowering. And the texture was perfect too, not too soft or hard. The soup dishes were so yummy and had the perfect amount of spice. The meat in the dumplings tasted good, but the texture and look threw me off. The fried squid was delicious, so crunchy, good appetizer. The Chocolate Xiao Long Bao for dessert was the perfect way to end the meal. It had a chocolate and strawberry filling. The strawberry was a bit tart and the chocolate filling was a rich and sweet flavor. On the side was a chocolate mousse that was airy and creamy. The flavors mashed together so well, would definitely get again!

Yelp
Great food with exceptional service. Restaurant is small with maybe about a dozen tables. But the cooks here are pushing out orders quickly. My lady and I ordered several dishes all of which came out within minutes of ordering. The dish that stood out to me was the soup dumplings with pork. The broth was delicious and the burst of juice upon the first bite made it a fun dumpling. Also try their cucumber salad! The uncle fried rice was super fluffy. Really enjoyed that. We also loved the garlic noodles and although it wasn't the greatest it was great nonetheless. The fried potstickers here were crunchy and filled with juicy meat. Server was polite and the other workers came to check on us throughout our dining experience. Clean bathrooms as well.

Yelp
I came here with my son and found the location easily it's right next to the massage place. As we walked up, we noticed a cozy little seating area outside, though it wasn't clear if it belonged to Uncle Dumpling. Inside, the restaurant was bustling, but the wait was surprisingly short only about 10 minutes. We checked in on the tablet by the door and waited outside until our name was called. The background music was a nice touch and helped balance out the noise from the crowd. We were seated by the window with a view of the open kitchen, where you can watch the cooks preparing everything fresh. One downside: there were a few large flies near the cooking area, which was a bit off-putting. We shared a few dishes from the menu: * A4 Crab & Pork Dumplings- Delicious and full of flavor. *B1 Pan-Fried Juicy Pork Buns- Super juicy and very tasty. *D6 Popcorn Chicken- A bit over-fried for my taste maybe it'll be better next time. *E3 Garlic Noodles- The texture was a little too soft for me, though the flavor was good. It almost felt like a dish you'd find at an Italian spot. One thing to note: they don't offer fountain drinks, which was a bit unexpected. Overall, the service was fast and the food was flavorful. Despite a few small issues, I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Craving Satisfied and Then Some! Was seriously craving dumplings on a late Sunday afternoon, and my wife--who's been here before--insisted I finally try this place. Glad I listened! We joined the Yelp waitlist before heading over and good thing we did--it was busy when we walked in, but we were seated right away. We ordered the Fried Squid, Uncle Fried Rice, Stir-Fry Green Beans, and Sesame Balls. The squid came out first with their house dipping sauce--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The fried rice and green beans followed, and both were hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The rice had just the right texture, and the green beans were a great balance of savory and crisp. To finish, the sesame balls came out warm and fresh--perfectly chewy with a light sweetness. Our server was super nice and attentive throughout the meal, and the whole place was clean, orderly, and had a comfortable vibe. Definitely recommend this spot--can't wait to come back and try more!

Yelp
The partner and I were originally planning to go to Yang Kee but saw this place had a way shorter wait. Glad we went here, the parking lot is a little tucked away and the restaurant is somewhat small, but it's well lit and service is pretty fast. While you wait for your food you can see the kitchen staff endlessly pumping out dumplings. The green beans were very tasty without being overwhelmingly porky, they could have been slightly crisper. The spicy wontons were nice and juicy and the chili oil had a decent amount of heat. The skins were thin and not super doughy. The XLB were also very good. Juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. The pleated top wasn't thick and doughy and the skins overall remained intact - I think we only had one tear when we picked them up. Overall, very good experience here. The food was very solid, something I wasn't really expecting for the area. Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Food was good overall, and the price was not bad considering the portion sizes/ingredients. Service was quick, and friendly. Ambiance was nice. Inside is a bit small, but overall was nice. Wish I would've tried more food. 5 star Beef noodle soup. Beef was tender and had. Lot of flavor. Broth tasted good. Noodles were thick like chow mein noodles. This was really good. 4 star Pork & Shrimp Wonton soup. The broth really threw me a little bit off. Tasted like miso broth. Broth really didnt go well with this soup. Noodles were thick like chow mein noodles. Wonton filling was a bit on the small side, but did taste good. 4 stars Pork & Shrimp Wonton soup. Same miso broth as the wonton noodle soup. Or at least that's what it tasted like. Again broth was a bit off. Wonton filling was a bit on the small side, but did taste good.

Yelp
I was really craving beef noodle soup and oh boy did this hit the spot. The broth was flavorful, the beef tender and the noodles were nice and chewy. They also have chili oil, it is slightly sweeter than expected but it still had a nice flavor and with a small kick of heat. The shrimp and pork XLB was juicy with thin dumpling skin. My family and I were quickly seated and our food came out at a reasonable time. It's a relatively small restaurant that is kind of hidden in a corner of the complex, but it's clean with nice vibey decor.

Yelp
Our kids love coming to uncle dumplings. They have really good sautéed with pork string beans. The XLBs are good. The truffle ones are a bit overwhelming with the artificial or truffle oil scent so not a staple for us here. However the truffle angus fried rice was really good. They have a chocolate/strawberry dessert one that my lil man loves. Service is not as attentive as yang kee, but the smaller more cozy ambiance and menu options will keep us coming back.

Yelp
This is my second visit to Uncle Dumpling and I love it here, I travel from Reno and it's always a stop when I am in the area. It's always so good and i can't wait for my next visit

Yelp
This place has the best scallion pancakes I've ever had. They are crispy and delicious even after reheating the next day.

Yelp
Spicy pork xiao long bao- not that spicy, I prefer the regular one bc I am not into spicy and prefer the original flavor. Veg Dumplings - yummy Spicy beef shank - good, not that spicy Jaja mian- yum, would get again. The meat is salty but great w the noodles. Overall good for the price. Very busy.
google avatar

Sophie M.

Yelp
This place was soooo cute and fun. I loved the decor. The wait was about 40 minutes for us so I recommend jumping in line on yelp beforehand. The Jajang Noodles were delicious and if you add the vinegar to it it's *chef's kiss* I hope I spelled that right lol The green beans were also delicious and the toppings and juices from them really blended nicely with the noodles. My fav thing was the noodle texture. It truly hits the spot if you're craving noodles! We had the recommended soup dumplings and the pan fried juicy pork buns but I'm not sure why they were lacking flavor for us. We also had their smoothie drinks strawberry and mango and those were A1! Overall definitely would come back but maybe to take out instead!

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Have an onion allergy and they were not really helpful in finding something I could eat. I ended up getting the veggie dumplings which were pretty good. Egg, mushroom, and glass noodles. But, I left pretty hungry still. Was nice you could watch them make dumplings. The place was clean and well decorated.

Yelp
Pork dumpling was delicious. Dough was a bit too thin causing the juice to leak onto the steam tray. 4/5 Pan fried pork dumplings dough was on the stick side if you love this style. 4/5 Chocolate dumplings came with side of dipping peanut sauce (?). Not sure if this was traditional but interesting. I think plain chocolate dumplings would be enough for me. 3/5 Green beans were excellent. I would recommend this dish. I think They deep fried and then water blanched. Perfect. 5/5. Service was standard and professional. Decor is dumpling house theme and modern. There was a good crowd on a weeknight. Good and hope to try more next time.

Yelp
Chill ambiance with good food! Worth it to check out your local dumpling restaurant. :)

Yelp
I came here with my family for lunch on a Saturday before hitting the mall nearby. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! My kids gave a 2 thumbs up and they're picky eaters. We got there before the crowd showed up. This is what we had: Cucumber appetizer: don't let the oil in the picture fool you, it is not spicy at all. It was really pickled, but it was perfect for me because I don't really eat spicy. I added a itty bit of soy sauce and it tasted even better. If you like spicy, they have the chili oil sauce on the table for self service. Steamed buns: it came with condensed milk and it was soft, fluffy, and yummy. I've had bad steamed buns before believe it or not. We didn't get the fried version because my daughter doesn't like it. Pork Xiao Long Bao: these steam pork soup dumplings were huge. It was so juicy and flavorful! The only complaint is that they were stuck next to each other. When I picked them up from the steam basket, they kept breaking. They top of the dumpling was a tiny bit thick but the wrapper itself was pretty thin. It was a hit at the table. Pork potstickers: they were yummy, juicy and crispy. Angus beef truffle fried rice: truffle is definitely not a thing for our family. It was our least favorite dish. We wished we ordered the regular fried rice instead. Shanghai chow mein: the mushroom flavor was pretty strong and the dish was a bit too salty. Next time, I would ask for light on the salt and no mushroom. Service: The service was excellent! The waitress took our order fairly quickly. She came to check on us and refilled our waters. The food came out pretty quick as well, which was a plus because our kiddos were hungry. Overall, I'd definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Excellent experience! Things I loved: -Very short wait time of 5-10 minutes on a Friday night despite being full and lively here. -BEST DRINKS! The Thai tornado and lychee drink were reason alone to come here. -Clean, modern restaurant -Attentive and kind customer service. They have cards on the table explaining to less experienced people like us how to properly eat a soup dumpling. -Chocolate dumplings were decadent! -Pork soup dumplings were great. Black truffle with gold flecks are good but have a prettier appearance than taste. -Loved the garlic noodles, so soft and buttery! -I wish they had more dim sum items available on their menu, but we were still very happy with what we ordered!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a random craving for soup dumplings and figured we would try this place! Was going to get the original xiao long baos but decided to go for truffle. I could actually taste the truffle and it was very flavorful, it was delicious. Got the Cucumber salad (not pictured), which was a refreshing appetizer. Lastly, simple uncle fried rice because a toddler loves rice hahah. it was good, simple, our son approved! overall service was good and quick! provided high chair and a bowl for our son. small and clean location. would come back if ever around the area!

Yelp
Went a little after 12 on a Sunday and no wait for 2 people Inside it was so cool watching the dumplings being made while you wait for your food! Service was great and my water glass never was empty Onto the food: B3.Scallion Pancake (4/5) crispy and light. Dipped in into the hot chili oil A1. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5) tender and juicy! Make you use the vinegar and ginger dipping sauce D5.Spicy Wonton (10/5) my favorite! The flavor was amazing and it wasn't too spicy. I used the hot chili oil on everything A6. Chocolate Xiao Long Bao (5/5) a must to finish off your meal. Only thing is, I wish it was condensed milk or whipped cream dipping B1. Pan Fried Juicy Pork Bun (4/5) same filling as xiao long boa. Very juicy. V2.Stir-fry Green Bean (5/5). Great freshness to the meal. Just know ground pork comes in the dish Can't wait to go back and try so much more !

Yelp
Was in the area with friends and decided to try Uncle Dumpling and glad we did! Dumplings made fresh and you can tell. We called prior since there was 11 of us and they accommodated all of us. We got seated right when we entered and were greeted kindly. The servers were quick and polite. The space is about normal size. Food: A1. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5) - fresh and flavorful A2. Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao (4.5/5) - same as A1 but just not as spicy unless you eat the chilis A5. Truffle Berkshire Xiao Long Bao (6/5) - great concept and a must try E6. Truffle Angus Beef Fried Rice (7/5) - an item you can't skip you must get this V2. Stir-fry Green Bean (5/5) - fresh and a great crunch S1. Pork & Shrimp Wonton Soup (4/5) - broth and wonton is great during cold weather but nothing special B1. Pan Fried Juicy Pork Bun (5/5) - eat with caution and eat like XLB, will be super hot if you don't let it air out. D1. Cucumber Salad (3/5) - super fresh BUT the chili oil didn't stick to the cucumber well so just tasted like regular cucumber A6. Chocolate Xiao Long Bao (6/5) - great way to end the meal. Taste like a Nutella dumpling and it was so good

Yelp
Cute little dumpling house! The place is very small but the wait wasn't too bad. We joined the waitlist and only waited 15 minutes to be seated. The XLB was very good! The skin was thin and the soup was very flavorful. The cucumber salad was okay. It was a bit too sweet for me. The Shanghai noodle was okay. The flavor was good but I was expecting thinner noodles. Overall a great dining experience.

Yelp
Second time here. This place is consistent in service and quality of food. Both visits staff friendly, fast, and accommodating. They didn't rush customers. All the food we tried was great. Siu mai was flavorful and plump. Angus fried rice had great presentation and taste...even God flakes and saffron. Dumplings excellent and even the boba tea, especially peach cloud, were very good.

Yelp
Took myself to lunch last week and unfortunately this place was not as good as it once was when I first came. I was seated quickly, friendly servers. The garlic noodles were a bit lumpy and doughy, not much flavor either. Which was unfortunate. The cucumber salad appetizer was ok, not spicy at all. Which it is listed as spicy on the menu. I also ordered the pork soup dumplings which I think they forgot to make until the end. It took about 40 minutes to get my dumplings out. I was only able to eat 2 before having to pack up and head back to work. All in all, I think this will be my last visit here. Best wishes
google avatar

Judy E.

Yelp
The food was superb! The pan fried scallion cake was so crispy and flaky. The green beans were super tasty. The pork xiao long bao was flavorful and filled with lots of soup. Beef noodle soup was also good, I expected it to be more spicy and rich in flavor but still amazing! The service was fast and efficient. They were super friendly as well! The inside is very modern and clean. Pleasantly welcoming.

Yelp
We were looking for a dumpling spot for lunch and decided to try this place since we were in Roseville. There's free parking, which is convenient, and the area has plenty of other eateries nearby. When we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly server and seated right away. It's a fairly small place, and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. The menu wasn't extensive, especially if you're looking for non-pork options like we were. However, the staff was accommodating and offered us non-pork options for rice and chow mein that weren't on the menu. The food arrived hot and fresh. The rice was excellent--I probably ate more than I should have! The dumplings were solid, though I wouldn't get the scallion pancake again. It was a bit greasy and lacked flavor, but I imagine sticking to the dumplings is the way to go here. Overall, this is a good casual spot if you're craving dumplings and are in the area.
google avatar

Stella Y.

Yelp
Got the beef noodle soup and it was just okay. I feel like the broth was some beef broth but didn't have the depth of flavor that beef noodle soup usually has. Wish it had more richness in flavor. The noodles were okay and the peanuts were a nice add. The star was definitely the beef as it was super tender.

Yelp
It's a 3.6 for me... PORTIONS: filling and hearty PRICE: appropriate SERVICE: table side, fast AMBIANCE: clean and small, patio seating available with heaters FLAVORS: A1. Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5 ) - the star of the show D2. Fungus Salad (4/5 ) - hit or miss depending if they use enough garlic and vinegar E1. Beef Soup Noodle (1/5 ) - no flavor! Just heat, skip it D6.Popcorn Chicken (3/5 ) - juicy, hot, crispy but missing flavor and the coating is not right? B1. Pan Fried Juicy Pork Bun (6pcs) - (4/5 ) dough was a little thick but still so good! B2. Pork Potstickers (8pcs) - (4/5 ) - the skirt was off a little but overall still tasty! Mango Cloud (4/5 ) - nice little sweet treat BONUS TIP: parking is private shared lot, use the yelp waitlist! Super helpful!

Your typical hand wrapped dumpling place where you can expect the same menu items and that window where you can watch them wrap your dumplings. The place is not too big, but they had fast turnover. I think this is also the reason why our food came out super fast, a little sloppy, and most importantly a little undercooked. The green beans were still a little raw and some of the dumplings were still dripping red (should be brown/clear if cooked thoroughly). I think most of the items tasted okay, but not a big fan as I've definitely had better. The XLB wrap could be better. I feel for the Roseville area this is probably acceptable but you should venture out to other cities if you are looking for some real good dumplings.

Yelp
Super impressed by the quality and flavor because let's be honest, Roseville isn't exactly the first place you think of for authentic dumplings. There was sooo much soup inside the dumplings, I could drink the broth forever! The crab and pork XLBs blew us away with how much crab flavor emanated from it. I also LUUURVE their Shanghai chow mein! It's the perfect chow mein for me--thick bouncy noodles, savory with a hint of sweetness, and the fresh vegetables still retained their bite. My least favorite was their stir-fried garlic green beans (which is saying a lot because that was still really good LOL) We felt like maybe there wasn't an ABUNDANCE of garlic or maybe the garlic wasn't cooked enough? Nevertheless, it was still good and that's probably the only thing I wouldn't rate 5/5 from our meal

Yelp
We've REALLY enjoyed visiting Uncle Dumpling. We moved to the Sacramento area about two years ago and have been disappointed with the Chinese and Taiwanese food scene. Well, Asian cuisine in general, to be honest. Our friends took us to Uncle Dumpling once it opened and we were pleasantly surprised, and have since come back to dine in. Service has always been friendly and fast. Food is always delicious. Some favorites we've ordered and would recommend: - Any of the XLB (we liked pork and crab/pork) - Shanghai chow mein - Truffle Angus beef fried rice - any of the vegetables (e.g. green beans, pea shoots, bok choy) - fried chicken wings

Yelp
My parents were in town visiting and my dad is the biggest fan of Journey to the Dumpling and since we were in the Roseville area, I suggested Uncle Dumpling since I've wanted to try it. For appetizers, we ordered the cucumber salad and spicy beef shank. I preferred the beef shank; I thought it was very flavorful with the spicy sauce, The cucumber salad was okay although I thought the texture of the cucumber was a little weird; it was both soft and crunchy. We also ordered the crab and pork soup dumplings, pork potstickers, and pan-fried pork buns. My favorites of the three were the soup dumplings and potstickers. Service was generally okay, except the pan-fried pork buns took WAY longer than all our other dishes.

Yelp
XLB here are amazing, and I really loved the Zha jiang noodle (jajang noodle). The sauce definitely has some of the authentic flavor and I love all the toppings. Truffle fried rice is fabulous as well. As well as the dumplings, they are all steamed which I'm not a huge fan of, but that's just a personal preference. Yang Kee's dumplings are boiled which is similar to my family tradition, which I like better. Services is always good here also. Can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Seating: 3/5 Parking: 5/5 Uncle Dumpling is my favorite Soup Dumpling spot in all of the Sacramento area. When you turn into the plaza it looks inconspicuous and almost like you're turning into an apartment complex and that's because it's the backside of the shopping plaza. There is lots of free parking in the large, public parking lot. Walking up to the restaurant, you'll see other stores and the big courtyard with trees makes this a cozy spot to bring friends or family. There's outdoor seating in the front too. We came in October, at 4:30pm on a Saturday right when it reopened from lunch break and we were immediately sat down. This spot does become busy and was full within 20 minutes so come early or expect a wait. The customer service was fantastic: friendly and quick, and our waitress checked on us occasionally and the food came out in a timely manner. The ambiance is great for friends and family. It was cool and conditioned inside, though you could opt to sit outside if the weather permits. The noise wasn't too loud and they have large glass windows looking into the kitchen so you can watch your dumplings being made! The seating was standard wooden chairs, very sturdy but hard so can get tiring to sit for long periods of time. Now the food, I cannot rave about it enough. I love the soup dumplings (xiao long bao) so much, highly recommend trying the Truffle Berkshire one! It's got a good amount of soup and pork ratio. It comes with a ginger + red vinegar sauce and you can add more chili oil, vinegar, or soy sauce at your table. We also ordered the Spicy Wonton which personally I did not find too spicy. The Pan Fried Pork Popstickers is my favorite appetizer, they fry the bottom so it's very crispy, definitely recommend. For dessert we had to order the Chocolate Xiao Long Bao which is a lot smaller than the normal soup dumplings but just as tasty. Perfectly bite-sized, these mini dumplings are taste like warm chocolate pudding exploding in your mouth. For drinks I personally ordered and tried the Summer Lychee Fruit Tea which was great. It had bits of blended lychee and was refreshing. There was boba which personally I felt wasn't cooked perfectly, next time I would ask for no boba. Overall, great drinks! I have been here five times now and the excellent food and customer service has been consistent. I will continue to return here, I hope you can visit some time too!

Yelp
This is my new favorite "dim sum like" restaurant in the Sacramento area. The restaurant is located in a small plaza near the Roseville Galleria. I would say this is the closest to Din Tai Fung (taste-wise) in Sacramento. The portion sizes are very generous and the staff are very friendly. We went on a weekday for lunch and there was no wait. Parking was easy to find. Seating inside is a bit limited. There were some tables outdoors but unsure if they are reserved for the restaurant. My favorite dish here was the Pan Fried Pork Buns. It was very juicy and flavorful. The Pork Xiao Long Baos were about 50% bigger than most other places in Sacramento and were as equally juicy and flavorful as the Pan Fried Buns. The Spicy Wontons had a nice sweet chili flavor with a nice little kick to it. The Beef Noodle Soup had a light broth and a light numbing spiciness to it. I definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!

Yelp
We came in for lunch on a Sunday and it was pretty busy, but only about a 20minute wait. The restaurant had very cool decor and I love that they had a window to see the making of the dumplings. The food was so so good. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fast and friendly service. Nice option to sit outside on a lovely day when it was really hoppin' inside. We got the cucumber salad, pork and crab XLB, pan fried pork buns and fried squid, plus a fruity tea and a Sapporo. All was good but the pork buns were our hands down favorite. So flavorful! Will return to try the pork XLB and spicy wontons (the latter were our server's favorite dish there, which I didn't ask until I was paying the bill - next time!).

Yelp
Service was good. Food was bland. I would not return. The noodles could have been cooked more. There's no wok flavor to it. The rice had good texture but lacked salt and pepper - basics in Chinese cooking.

Yelp
The food was super service was decent to good ambiance / space is probably the only thing keeping this from a five star . Main star of the show was pop corn chicken great flavor and texture. The rice and noodles were great as well not over powering like some versions of these dishes can get . And lastly the desert the flavor inside of the dumplings was decent but the dipping sauce was not good at all . And the texture of the dumpling was not kind to me at all i assume that is just how steamed dough tastes not a fan . We will definitely return to get more popcorn chicken of-course but to see if the main dish dumplings and sauces taste better than the dessert did Over all 4.78 / 5

Yelp
We went this past weekend and the food was just okay. The potstickers were nice and crispy but the filling was lacking in flavor. The wonton soup was fine but nothing special. The soup dumpling was soupy but the filling was bland and also really mushy. We were not a big fan of the dipping sauces either because the chili crisp is not spicy or flavorful. The service was pretty quick though and the servers were attentive which is a plus. I thought the ambiance was pretty good too. Overall it's a decent place with food that has great presentation but the flavor was lacking to me.

Yelp
Loved my experience at Uncle Dumpling! It was by far the best place I ate at while visiting the area for work! I ordered customer favorites (marked on the menu) and whole heartedly concur with other customers! Specifically, I ordered the pork xiao long bao (soup dumplings), spicy wontons, and since I was unable to resist- ordered the cucumber salad to-go for later! Loved them all but my favorite was the spicy wontons! Food was served freshly made and had perfect flavor! A much needed stop for comfort food! Convenient location with lots of parking. Great casual atmosphere with the art of handcrafting the delicious dumplings visible to all patrons! Fast and attentive service! 5 stars all day long!

Yelp
This is a highly recommended dumpling shop. I really love their XLB, especially the thin skin that is not overly steamed. This is awesome! Their braised beef noodle soup was flavorful and delicious. The buns we ordered were also quite juicy and tasty. We were satisfied with our lunch before heading to the mall. The staffs here were nice. The restaurant quite clean and neat. The plaza has lots of parking and other restaurants.

Yelp
I've only tried three dishes so far, but I think the food here is pretty good. The restaurant is clean, and the service is friendly--they were checking up on me to see if the food was okay or if I needed anything. One thing I really like is being able to see them prepare the food; it adds a nice touch of transparency and trust. I was a little disappointed with the jajang noodles because the portion seemed way bigger than I expected. I looked at the picture on Yelp, and it showed a much smaller portion. It would also be helpful if the menu included a list of ingredients or more photos, especially for some of the dishes and drinks. I highly recommend!

Yelp
We ordered a spicy xiao long bao which isn't big and not too spicy. We had a dumpling, and it was big and packed not like some places they're small. Then we had the sautéed string beans with ground pork and the string beans was barely sautéed. We also had the Shanghai chow mein and the noodles were too Al dente.
