The 20 Best Restaurants In Hoboken - Hoboken - The Infatuation

"Entering Uncle Milton’s, an LGBTQ-friendly cafe, feels like walking into a sitcom scene where strangers might strike up spontaneous conversation about what sandwich to order. There are only a couple stools inside, but when the weather’s nice, there’s plenty of patio space to enjoy sandwiches like the Gobble Gobble (turkey with bacon, lettuce, and tomato) and the Peppa with ham, lettuce, and mayo. If you’re having a rough morning, order the pernil, egg, and cheese on a perfectly toasted Portuguese roll." - anne cruz, kerry smith, marissa lamastra, michael sinatra

Walked over for lunch today and grabbed some sandwiches and rice pudding. The Cuban was the star of the show! And the rice pudding was spot on, such a nice little treat. Owner was so friendly and made sure our dog got a treat, too. We will definitely be back.

Great new addition to the area! One of the friendliest owners. Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and latte. Service was quick and the food was great. The baked goods and pudding look amazing so will be back for those!

The service was great. Staff was friendly and quick to answer questions. Sandwiches were tasty but on the expensive side. All ingredients were fresh but sandwiches quite basic (and a little dry, they needed Mayo or some kind of sauce) for the price. I would love to try their breakfast though.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Firstly, Milton is such a nice guy. We had a great conversation and he was kind and open about his experience since opening. He shared some great info about the business. Definitely chat him up if you stop in! As per Milton’s recommendation, I ordered the Uncle Milton’s Favorite wrap which is grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, and guac. It’s not usually something I’d order but his endorsement convinced me, and it was a great call. The guac was really solid, and I take my guac seriously. Had a nice kick to it. Chicken portion and taste were very good. Overall a tasty wrap. Looking forward to getting back again soon to try more breakfast and lunch. Hope this place sticks around!

Wow! We loved Uncle Milton’s. Both sandwiches we had were delicious: the Sinatra and Uncle Milton’s Favorite. We also enjoyed the latte and mocha we ordered. After we were done, he surprised us with some delicious rice pudding. Overall, our experience at this cafe was fantastic and we can’t wait to come back and try the empanadas.

Stopped in this morning for some coffee and breakfast. Milton was very friendly and accommodating. The bacon egg and cheese was super solid and I had it on a Portuguese roll. Coffee was solid and the empanadas were good too! Although I will say they weren’t Colombian style as advertised. All in all, this place is great and you should stop by if you’re in the area.

Lovely neighborhood cafe with everything from pizza and coffee to Salvadorian dishes. I discovered Uncle Milton's when they did delicious catering for a local event I attended and then found their cafe location. Right near the Resiliency Park, too! Hidden gem and LGBTQ+ friendly, highly recommend.

A bit of a hidden gem and wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Such a friendly owner and great spot for a good ol’ classic bacon, egg and cheese and coffee. Fast service. Love that there are a few tables outdoor for seating also— a bit unique for a small cafe like this! Excited to go back to try out the sandwiches for lunch. Def worth trying out if you’re walking by!
