"You and your friends aren’t saying much besides the occasional comment about not needing those tequila shots last night and needing coffee right now. You definitely don’t want to wait 90 minutes for a table at the Chegg, so walk a block over to Uncle Will’s. This diner in the middle of Beach Haven has been around since 1965 and has a lot of space and tables that work for big groups. Most dishes come with home fries, but for $1.50 you can substitute them for a full stack of blueberry or banana chocolate chip pancakes, which you should absolutely do. They even have a few wines (all from New Jersey) available, in case you want to ditch the coffee for some hair of the dog." - alison kessler, regan stephens, matt tervooren, tonya russell

Just tried Uncle Wills for the first time on New Year’s Day and it was the perfect way to bring in 2025. The service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. The coffee was perfect and my pancakes were fluffy with plenty of butter and syrup to add to preference. Highly recommend grabbing a side of bacon and home fries.

Nestled on Long Beach Island, this year-round breakfast spot has become a cherished family favorite. From mouthwatering morning classics to unique twists on traditional dishes, every bite is a delight. What adds a playful touch to the experience is the hilarious pig mascot, injecting a dose of humor into the family-friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this breakfast haven offers a warm, inviting space and a menu that guarantees smiles all around. A must-visit for those who appreciate good food served with a side of laughter. Oh & When the cinnamon rolls are on the menu definitely get one!

Incredible food!! The combo platter I received was a sizable helping and was delivered in the most efficient manner! I wish it survived for a photo! Staff and service was nothing short of perfect and pleasant. The environment of the establishment itself, as well as the heartfelt preparation of the dishes, truly makes the customer at home.

Oh man…. The food here is SILLY. It is SO GOOD!!! I ordered a pork roll egg sandwich with an extra side of bacon and it was to die for. my guests ordered waffles, an additional pork roll, French toast with cooked apples on top, and scrambled eggs. We were completely silent while we were eating because it was so delicious. I will definitely be coming back here at some point and if you’re on vacation in Long Beach Island, this is a must stop for breakfast or lunch. The inside is very clean with a cool retro vibe where you can see into the kitchen not to mention love all of the vintage touches and pig theme throughout the space!

We dined her for breakfast. We chose this restaurant because it had high ratings. However, I would say the food is just mediocre. It’s nothing to brag about. The service was good and the place seemed very busy. My bf ordered waffles with peaches on top and the peaches were canned, not fresh, which he found disappointing. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. They were good and had lots of blueberries inside but, again, nothing to brag about. The restaurant is cool looking in the inside. Lots of fun decor on the walls. Try it out for yourself.

WOW ! We had a party of 16 and it went off without a hitch. Awesome service and such a delicious breakfast! We were sat down once the entire party arrived and were offered fresh fruit, coffee or tea. The menu has many choices to choose from and each of the 16 pretty much ordered different meals. Avocado toast, French toast, pancakes, thin waffles, eggs .. so much more ! Definitely a great place to have breakfast. Loved it from start to finish.

Google
Perhaps overshadowed by their trendy neighbor- this is THE place to go for breakfast (and friendly service) on LBI! Add on- New Year's Day brunch! The most welcoming eatery on the island. In the hub of downtown Beach Haven, Uncle Will's is always buzzing! Today we sampled-creamed chipped beef, sausage gravy and biscuits, and pancakes with bacon. They were completely filled up, with a bit of wait time, but the sun was shining and we were anticipating our meal, so 20 minutes passed quickly. Our server was very busy but took our orders promptly and with a smile. I cannot say enough about the staff and the warm atmosphere they create, especially the "young" man who takes names and was working the register. Their food is delicious and speaks for itself!

My family and I have been coming here for years and this year we decided we probably will not come back. Speed is definitely above taste and service now. We ordered and in less than 5 minutes our food came out. While that would be a huge draw for us, the quality of the food was horrible. I ordered the avocado toast, the "toast" was cold and soggy. The home fries had no taste to them. My cousins eggs were hanging off the plate. In short, the quality and presentation does not match the price point anymore. Service was horrible. My niece wasn't even finished with her waffle and the waitress cleared her plate. Finally, we were sitting near where the hostess stands and had just gotten our check. It was very clear from the looks the hostess was giving that they wanted us to leave so they could fill the table. We paid as quickly as possible and will likely not go back to this once family favorite.

Yelp
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Friendly employees and fast service. Enjoyable time both visits. Highly recommend!

Christina O.

Yelp
Quickest service ever! The vibe was fun, lively, and colorful. You can tell this restaurant has been a staple for many many years. The food was pretty good and simple. Would recommend this to anyone stopping by for a quick reliable meal

Yelp
We love Uncle Will's for breakfast at the beach. You should love the cutesy pig-laden decor. It can get noisy when it's crowded because of the lively atmosphere. We have had eggs, omelets, pancakes, and French toast at different times we've visited. The food is always delicious. Your coffee will never run dry -- and it's good! This time, I had pumpkin pecan pancakes with watermelon on the side. I got a 1/4 a melon! Delicious and sweet, pancakes were laden with pecans. They don't cheat you. The service is friendly. They take cards now, including contactless. I highly recommend Uncle Wills, and I think you should come early or later to beat the crowd.

Novella N.

Yelp
Can't believe it took me this long to try Uncle Will's! We went on a Tuesday morning and were seated right away. The menu has so many options, it was so hard to choose an entree! My friends got the banana nut pancakes and I got the Van Goat omelette. Need to go back again soon!

Patti I.

Yelp
Always a favorite vacation breakfast spot when my kids we younger... they are now in their (ahem) 30's... convinced my husband to take me back and was not disappointed. Food delish, staff friendly and I even got to sit with the pig!

Michael R.

Yelp
Uncle Will's is the best breakfast experience on LBI. Pancakes are amazing with a ton of different varieties. There are also plenty of other breakfast options to choose from. Even though it's a popular spot, the staff is very good about getting your party seated in a very reasonable amount of time. Best of all, kids love it when the pig comes to visit their table!

Leena S.

Yelp
Uncle Will's was fabulous and provided us a 5-star breakfast experience. For a party of 9, they were very accommodating in giving us Sunday morning reservations before hand. And, glad we had those reservations, because the place was packed. The menu is extensive, with so many breakfast options and large portion sizes. I like the fact you have the option of selecting french toast or pancakes with your omelet, instead of the basic toast. I'm always torn between a sweet or savory start to the day. This way I had both! Their fresh squeezed OJ is also very good. The interior is bright and cheery and has a "pig theme". Service was very quick and friendly, even though every table in the house was full.

Kim B.

Yelp
Hands down the best place!! We have been coming for years and won't stop! Great food, service and staff!

Eden H.

Yelp
The family and I go to get our annual Uncle Will's breakfast to kickstart our week at the Jersey shore. Every year we are always impressed by how quick they are to serve up some fresh breakfast staples. It's a well oiled machine and you can start the timer. I literally ordered my food and went to the restroom quickly and the food was waiting for me when I returned. The food is delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I got the eggs Benedict and it was very tasty. The pancakes are also a fan favorite because of how big they are! Definitely would highly recommend.

Margaret R.

Yelp
Can't believe I have never written a review of this long time LBI breakfast spot. Get there early, there's a line. The pig - themed restaurant, including a large pig on wheels who can visit you at your table, is a great hit with the younger set. Breakfasts--eggs, omelets, waffles and pancakes--are tasty and delivered promptly and correctly. There's a cute pancake with a funny face on the kids menu. Home fries are good. The giant tub of butter has always amused my family, and the fresh fruit - not the fruit side served with the breakfast, which can be a little soggy and sad, but the separate fresh fruit you order off the menu - is usually excellent.

Sarah A.

Yelp
A fun,family-oriented breakfast place with an adorable mascot and delicious pancakes! The restaurant realy reps its pig mascot with a little seat buddy and tons of merchandise. The seating space is a little cramped but nothing that I would consider being too close to other patrons. The food service is pretty quick with an order coming out within maybe 10 minutes. The only downside to this place is on the difference in wait staff. Some parts of the restaurant had really great servers who were attentive but unfortunately, my waiter/waitress were never around and had to keep reminding them to please get water glasses for us. This place gets incredibly packed and the wait times can be rather lengthy if you're not there at opening so I highly recommend waking up early to nab your grub!

Amanda C.

Yelp
I would give a 3.5 if I could but it's not quite a 4. The food was good, just not great. We arrived around 8 on a weekday in the summer and there was no wait. There were 4 of us and a toddler and they jammed us at a table for 4, which was a little tough. Overall, food was ok but nothing to die for. I'd try another option in the future.

Shelby G.

Yelp
Uncle Will's has proven to be a consistent option on LBI. They are accepting credit cards as of this review. The menu is large with many breakfast options. Portions are large. Small lunch menu is available. Service is quick and friendly, even on the busiest weekends. They offer healthy options and one of my favorites is the low-fat green yogurt parfait. Always grab yourself a piece of crumb coffee cake.

Tom M.

Yelp
We began enjoying Uncle Wills 23 summers ago with our 2 daughter ages 4 months and 3 years. From our first visit we've loved what a special place it is for family breakfasts together. Having both our now grownup kids at the shore for the weekend we just returned from our first visit of 2023, in every aspect we enjoyed the delicious food, attentive service and overall happy beach vide hospitality. It's truly amazing how wonderful it was! Thank you Marjie and Tom and the entire crew at Uncle Wills! Tom & Louise

Marc W.

Yelp
Awesome bfast place. Egg Combo: omelet w/ spinach, mushrooms, and onions, chocolate chip pancakes, hash browns, sausage gravy.....I ate until I was stuffed. So good! Eggs were fluffy, pancakes the perfect texture, perfect potatoes. Solid cup of coffee. Go there, eat, thank me.

Marcus B.

Yelp
Top tier spot. Has been a traditional place to go for the family for a decade now. Quality of food and service is always great! Owners and staff are super friendly.

Jay L.

Yelp
Damn this place gets packed, but it was well worth the wait (1.5 hr). They take your phone number so we took the opportunity to explore despite it raining like a mofo that day. We went down to some of the gift shops to pick up sweaters and miscellaneous LBI apparel. Got the call and told em we'd be right back over in five minutes. They gladly held the table which we definitely appreciated! Had a chance to try the short rib benedict and red neck benedict. I thi k I prefer the redneck, but both were very good. I was very happy with the well done potatoes that I requested! Great spot for brunch and awesome service.

Peter K.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed to make this review. The pancakes were the most average pancakes J have ever had. They were dry too. They claim to have the best pancakes in the island. It is quite the opposite. I don't like the scenery. It smells terrible inside. The service took forever. I waited an hour for 4 dry pancakes.

Jacey H.

Yelp
This place was such a good little hole in the wall dinner. We came for breakfast and the ladies were so very nice. Food was great too, amazing portion for the price. Very simple which honestly is better sometimes.

Tim R.

Yelp
Patrick My waiter made some excellent recommendations and suggested something different. EGGS MAINE-Bed of sautéed Spinach, Lobster Cake, yea Lobster. 2 poached eggs topped with Havarti Cheese. Delicious, thanks Patrick. No news is good news. Enjoy

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Very friendly service. Easy online ordering and curbside pickup. Online ordering shuts down at 1:00PM daily, and I had the distinction of placing one of my orders at 12:59PM. That impressed them. I called several times at 1:10PM and they took my order by phone. We were disappointed that they closed at 1:30PM every day in late September/early October. I probably would have ordered more often had they been open for dinner. My favorite menu item is the HUGE Veggie Benedict. I could never finish the entire portion. HUGE (what seemed like homemade) garden veggie burger on very delicious 7-grain toasted bread, roasted red peppers, melted Havarti cheese, and 2 poached eggs. A generous amount of every ingredient. The veggie burger is also available a la carte as a "side," towards the end of the menu, and I ordered that a few times. Quite a few times, I ordered the 4 oz nova lox, which was consistently fresh and high quality. None of the stringy stuff that poor quality lox sometimes has. I like avocado toast topped with lox, so I ordered their avocado toast several times and added the lox myself. I think sliced tomato is available as a side with avocado toast, and that goes well with the lox. I tried the crumb cake and it was good. More crumbs than cake. Lots of cinnamon. Yummy.

Yelp
This place is buzzing, even in the off peak season! They have several tables outside for dining, and the inside was super packed for 10AM on a Saturday in September. Uncle Will's seems to be a local and tourist favorite, so it is expected that you will have to wait for the goodness. Since neither myself or my bestie were mentally prepared to do indoor dining since COVID is still a thing, we ordered to go and opted to eat in the park a block away. We ordered the eggs benedict and she got eggs florentine, each with their own helping of home fries; a breakfast staple, in my personal opinion. We were told to chill for 20 minutes, so we did just that at the cute shop next door. Although the prices were a bit steeper than what I was expecting, the food was down right wholesome and delicious. The eggs were good and runny, and I sopped up the yokes with the english muffin and taylor ham bed that it was sitting on. The presentation wasn't what mattered; it was the taste and comfort it delivered as we ate. I felt like someone gave my belly a hug and then laid me down on the bed for a mid-morning nap. I would definitely hit this place up again on our next visit!

Lauren G.

Yelp
I would recommend to this company is to close their doors for good. Food: 1) salad: the lettuce was not Just wilted but dirty. Get a salad spinner & rinse your spring mix. You shouldn't be giving that to anyone. I wouldn't let an animal eat that let alone a human- huge way people can get sick from food. 2) bacon cheeseburger: the cheese burger was fine... but the title literally says BACON- how was this forgotten? Service: they weren't busy & she was slow Ambiance: fine? I'm not going back, obviously.

Valerie R.

Yelp
Great breakfast and great prices. Most varieties of pancakes are $8-$9, you won't find prices like that anywhere else on the island. We decided to upgrade and get pancakes with a combo to get eggs and home fries. All of the food was great! It gets busy but the staff hustles! Food comes out fast and tables turn over quickly. Our server was super friendly and helpful, even though we kept asking for multiple things, she was on top of it and always smiling.

Gina D.

Yelp
If you like your food bland then this is the place for you. I got the pigasso omelette with home fries and a side of avocado. I had to drown my food in salt and pepper and some ketchup just to get it down. The wait to be seated was 45 minutes but food came out in 5. I see why service is so quick they put zero effort into your plate. Will definitely not be back here. Pricey and terrible food is not a good mix for a business.

Dana R.

Yelp
Food and service is always amazing! The food is served fresh and very hot. One of the staples that we go when we are here. There's no other place like it.

Alexander S.

Yelp
Excellent today just like the past thirty years. Nothing but praise for this establishment. Sausages are yummy, ham is sweet like maple or honey. Eggs are eggs.

Sandra S.

Yelp
Stopped for breakfast while visiting LBI. The place was super busy on a Tuesday morning. They said a 15 minute wait but it was more like 5 minutes. The place itself is very family oriented - I think we may have been the only ones dining without children. Our server was really great - attentive and friendly. We both ordered "Build your own" omelets and I am pretty sure they arrived within five minutes of ordering. I prefer omelets that have ingredients mixed in vs just folded on top - but it was tasty nonetheless. I asked for a side of fruit vs hash browns and they were happy to accommodate. Bottom line - it is a solid breakfast spot and they get you in and out fast.

Dan O.

Yelp
I've been going to Uncle Will's with my family for years - it's a staple of the LBI experience for me. I often get either their crepes or their French toast (which are both consistently delicious) but they have a very extensive menu - and one filled with puns. The interior is a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with pig-themed decorations all over the walls. The wait time for a table can get quite long in the summertime, and they don't allow you to call ahead (last I checked) so you'll have to be patient, but it's worthwhile.

Pegah Y.

Yelp
Uncle Will's Pancake House is probably my favorite restaurant on LBI! I'd visited LBI for several years and somehow never visited this place until I last visited the island in late summer 2017! LBI isn't really much of a food scene (it basically has 2 "nicer" restaurants and a bunch of small casual eateries), but Uncle Will's is absolutely fantastic! They have an awesome brunch with a very cute pig theme :) Service was great from start to finish, even considering how crowded it was for brunch! I believe we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated - not bad at all. As for the food, it was probably one of the best brunches I've had (and certainly the best breakfast/brunch I've had in New Jersey)! The prices are reasonable, the options are varied, and the food is incredibly tasty and fresh! Between the two of us, we ordered the following: -Eastern Shore Benedict (Uncle Will's crab cake on a golden croissant with grilled asparagus, roasted red peppers, and topped with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise) -Crab Cake Sandwich with home fries Both of our entrees came with delicious roasted potato home fries! It was perfectly seasoned. Yum!! I also loved the big display out front (and you can buy shirts/stuffed animal pigs). The food, theme, and service all get 5 big stars!

Heidi O.

Yelp
Excellent diner type dining. Great food, and lots of it. Fresh squeezed juices, lots of pancake choices, make your own omelette. Good service snd price. We will be back.

Ken B.

Yelp
Love the area but Uncle Will's was a major disappointment. My eggs were runny, the rye toast wasn't toasted and the bacon was under cooked and soggy. Our waitress never checked back and only passed by when she dropped the check on our table without breaking stride. You pay at the register here and when I did the cashier asked me how everything was. It's only breakfast and more often than not I wouldn't say anything but I was generally disappointed. I responded, "To be honest I was disappointed" and explained why. She never even picked her head up to look at me and just handed my credit card back. I get it that this is a beach resort area and I wasn't expecting anything special. Very few restaurants are gonna nail it every time but the apathetic attitude I got when I answered the question I was asked was the clincher for me. I'll be passing on Uncle Will's in the future.

Ibmer F.

Yelp
A tradition for us when going to LBI. There is a wait to get in because it's good. We had a group of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meal and our server was cheerful and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit!

Jean F.

Yelp
Yum! I love short ribs and eggs Benedict. Uncle Will's married them together??? What??? I had to try them. I'll be honest, it doesn't sound like a combo that fits but they surely do. I wouldn't let my husband even have one bite. Husband and son were delighted with their pancakes. Service was very good; food came out fast and hot. We will be back!

Albert D.

Yelp
This is a great place for brunch. It's an institution on the island. The eggs Benedict are to die for. Service is excellent. Has a tremendous beach vibe.

Brittany S.

Yelp
This is my daughter's absolute favorite & a mandatory stop every time we come to town. She loves eating breakfast with the pig! Their cream chipped beef is absolutely incredible, as is their fresh OJ

Joe K.

Yelp
Down home country feel breakfast. Just ask for ice when ordering coffee.... It's BLAZING HOT. Good coffee, but Ha ha ha ha HOT

J W.

Yelp
Typical shore breakfast spot. Everyone goes there but it's bad. Waffles were undercooked and soggy, turkey sausage was oily and not good, fruit salad was tired. I sent back the waffle and ordered eggs and toast and potatoes. Toast wasn't toasted. Service was prefunctory and just okay. I'm not going back. Cashier asked me how everything was and couldn't have cared less about the complaints.

Susan G.

Yelp
We are longtime breakfast regulars (& dinner when available). Today we happened to stop by after noon while walking & were pleasantly surprised by their wonderful lunch menu. Among the many offerings are some items from their dinner menu that have been modified for lunch. Today I had the avocado stuffed with lobster salad & including a side salad. I noticed a crab cake sandwich and a lobster cake sandwich (the lobster cake dinner has been a favorite of mine.) As always, service was friendly & professional. We enjoyed sitting outside as we had our dog under the table. We highly recommend Uncle Will's for lunch- especially this year for anyone who has missed them being open for dinner. UW's has much more to offer than their delicious pancakes & eggs!

Jose L.

Yelp
Uncle Will's is a place one should visit when in LBI. The breakfast there is one of the yummiest breakfast I've had. Good menu selection, great food, fast service, and relatively affordable price. Big portions with good sides. Anither place that we eat in every time we're in LBI.

Sean K.

Yelp
Great breakfast. Best pancakes on LBI.

Karen F.

Yelp
Wonderful service from Christina and so, so, so many pigs. Piggies everywhere - it's like a piggie-retro museum. The food is breakfast/brunch and I really enjoyed the lobster-stuffed avocado ($16.00). My man got an $11 egg and cheese sandwich with peppers and onions on a brioche roll with a side of delicious house-made home fries. No issues and a good time for sure off season - I can't imagine the lines during a non-Covid beach weekend. Wear a mask and give it a try.

Lou G.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Got there at 11am with reservations and waited about 29 mins to be seated. Had a western type omelette with pancakes for $12. Omelette was OK but the veggies could have been cooked more. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Light and delicious!

Alexander J.

Yelp
Update: Food and coffee are great and so is the staff, easy must when youre on the island.

Jason M.

Yelp
I heard this was one of the best places to get breakfast on LBI, so first stop on my day trip was here to Uncle Will's for some pancakes. I met family here around 8am, and there was already a small group of people outside waiting for tables. The wait wasn't long though, maybe 10 minutes at the most for a table for five. The interior isn't large, but they make good use of the space. The main "theme" of Uncle Will's is pigs - and they are everywhere. On the menu, mugs, placemats, on the walls, on shelves - there are pigs all over the restaurant. There is even a child-size pig sitting in a chair eating pancakes that can come sit with you while dining. While the star of the menu is pancakes, they have other traditional breakfast offerings as well. I decided to go with the Marc Pigall omelette which came stuffed with ham, onions, green bell peppers, and cheddar cheese). You can choose your side, and of course I had to try their pancakes. Regular pancakes are included in the price, or you can choose a flavor for $1.50 extra. They had a lot to choose from, but I ultimately decided with Jersey blueberry (I'm a sucker for anything blueberry). The omelette was good, just the right amount of filling. The pancakes were super fresh and they didn't skimp on the blueberries which I appreciated. Service was excellent - like a well-oiled machine. Our server Pearl was awesome, always around to answer questions we had and to refresh my coffee mug. With the crowds outside, you bet they won't forget you - the menus were even at the table before we sat down. Note that this business is cash only! Good experience overall, I would definitely return.

Ben D.

Yelp
We tried to go to Chegg but they didn't open early enough so we opted for Uncle Willy's. The service was good, food was LIGHTNING fast and was pretty tasty. Wouldn't be my first choice for the price, but definitely a solid breakfast.

Kirsti H.

Yelp
The positives: friendly staff (our waitress was lovely), free coffee refills. The rating for those elements would be a 4. I got a standard breakfast (eggs, corned beef hash, grits and toast). The eggs and multigrain toast were fine, though they need to use less butter on the latter and apply it when the toast is hot so that it melts. Seems pretty basic. I've had some good hash and this one absolutely did not qualify. The grits were essentially the kind you make at home with no butter at all, so bland. The hub didn't know what to get, so opted for their version of a breakfast platter, The Bunkhouse Breakfast. His eggs were fine, but the biscuit was small and dry...complete bummer for us city folk who get excited when we see biscuits on a menu and hope they are fresh/ from scratch. The French toast was the highlight, though they could make it better (French toast is not supposed to be completely dry in the middle -- soak that bread a bit before tossing it on the griddle). The pancakes were standard, thin (not thick and fluffy) which is up to personal preference. As for the meats, the bacon did not taste like bacon, so we opted not to continue down that road. The ham and sausage were fine, though the latter was fairly blackened on the outside. Food rating: 2-1/2, 3 tops

A G.

Yelp
5 stars for the great service and ample gluten-free options. Gets super crowded during breakfast, but they are pros at turn over and seating.

Linda D.

Yelp
Great place to go on LBI with the family for breakfast! Friendly servers and delicious food in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Love their coffee, pancakes & waffles!
