"Uncommon Ground, Rogers Park Edgewater. Home of the 1st Certified Organic Roof Top Farm in the US, Uncommon Ground is anything but common. Their menu changes by location and season, with many items coming from their own production. For Uncommon Ground, sustainability is the key. Even down to the cooking oil used to cook their food, which is donated used by local students to create biodiesel fuel. And one last thing, they brew their own organic beer."

Had a really nice evening at Uncommon Ground! There is definitely an upscale / hipster vibe, but it's still casual. They have an impressive drink selection, and the food was terrific! I was especially impressed by the gnocchi, and would definitely recommend it. I will be coming back! Just FYI it is a little expensive compared to most restaurants in the immediate area.

Nice location. Has its own parking lot. Nice seating inside and outside. No rooftop seating as that is where the vegetables grow. Menu is decent. I found it to be about 4 stars. Decent quality. Some food items were great while others were ok.

My husband and I came to uncommon ground for the first time to see a friend play at one of their Thursday night shows. Upon entry there appeared to be no one in the entire restaurant (customers or employees). Though we did see a bunch of people sitting outside on the patio. We were greeted after a few minutes and directed to go sit in the back room where the stage was. The atmosphere of the restaurant is laid back and casual. All the employees were very nice, but they seemed to be understaffed. It took us about 20 minutes to get one flight of beer which was delicious. My favorite was the BC Kolsch made with black currants. It took us about another 20 minutes to get another glass of beer. We still had not received our food yet but after the waiter checked on it we received it quickly and it was still hot but it did take about an hour to get our order of the Beyond Burger and vegan Cesar side salad. They did apologize, like I said it seemed like they were understaffed. The music was great! It was a really fun time and worth the $10 ticket. The lettuce is grown right there on the roof and you could tell! It was so fresh and delicious. The burger and fries were satisfying also. I would enjoy coming here again to sit on the patio outside on a nice day.

For organic, I expected my socks to be knocked off. I felt it was good local food...nothing too special. Also, dont let the organic wittbier go warm. Not a good taste. The ice cream was fabulous though. Built for two or more.

A very unique place. The only organic rooftop farm in all of America. I had the pumpkin ravioli; it was not as flavorful as I expected. I hate to sound like an old fogie, but I didn't like the fact that you don't get a paper menu when you come in. Everything is scan the QR code etc. I understand they adhere to strict sustainability, and I am in favor of that, but I don't think it's too much to ask to get a menu or a paper receipt.

This is such an enjoyable place to have brunch in a garden and listen to Frank Sinatra. They make a really great lemon pepper aioli here. If you're looking for farm fresh to table, then this place is it.

First of all, we were there on a beautiful day so sitting outside with all the gorgeous plants was a treat. The meal was great! We did brunch and I loved that they used their freshly grown veggies in the meal. Our server was was so sweet and helpful. This place will definitely become one of go to favorites.
