"What we know about Undercroft so far is that celebrity chef Aldo Zilli is at the helm, it’s in Mayfair, and whoever wrote the menu is obsessed with alliteration—see, Aldo’s Appetisers, Italian Indulgences, and Taste Together. If you can get past that, Italian-influenced (sorry) dishes include truffle carbonara, seared tuna steaks, and Sicilian prawn bruschetta. Delicious food, nicely presented, and well priced. Lovely setting in a vaulted crypt underneath a church. Good atmosphere when we were here. Will definitely come back!

Avoid this place at all costs. It’s nearly impossible to get through to anyone by phone, which already raises red flags. My ex-partner worked for Undercroft for several months and was never paid — Despite multiple promises from the owner, the money was never received. The lack of communication and accountability makes the whole operation seem incredibly shady. Based on our experience, I would seriously question how this business is being run. Definitely not a place I would trust.

The food was quite bad—bland, with very small portions- so tiny we were very hungry after this dinner - main course was just one slice of fish full on bones no garnish or sause - just nothing at all.. The starter was especially disappointing: a thin one inch sq of smoked salmon served dry slice of beetroot , with no sauce or garnish. It lacked any flavor or creativity. In fact, none of the dishes had any sauce. Overall, the meal was extremely disapointed & overpriced for what was offered. I would NOT recommend this place. Wines also very expencive small choice by glass.

We had an event here. While the space is nice, the food was really terrible - tiny potrions, no sauces or flavours. Service also bad. The bar personnel is sullen and looks permanently pissed off and slap 20% service charge on every drink without providing any service. Pity such a nice space does not have their act together.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food, the interior, the service is all just bang on. All four of us had three courses and left clean plates at every round! It’s fairly priced for what you get and the ambiance just makes it even more worth while. I also found out they do bottomless brunches which I’ll definitely be giving a go!

Bad service, expensive , pretentious. Menus on line are different from the menu there. Sparkling water came in a carafe , you lose the bubbles . Never had bottled water in a carafe before . Tasty fish and chips . Cheapest glass of rose was expensive at 17.00 . I chose not to have any wine. Laughable service. Wrong starter served after a long wait in a near empty restaurant . The home made focaccia was falling apart , it It came with a nice Zilli fish dip - celebrity chef Aldo Zilli needs a dip with his name . Not offered more sparkling water when the first one was finished , a carafe of what looked like still water appeared , I was never told if this was tapwater , or what it was . Wine glasses not cleared , when not having wine. Menus taken away when I still wanted them . My guest was not offered the pre concert menu , just the a la carte menu . I had to ask for the pre concert menu . I asked what the cheeses were , I needed to ask a second time. First time here . Not coming back .

My friends invited me to a family event that they were holding in this new restaurant. It had quite an unusual atmosphere, probably the best price-quality ratio in Mayfair, and super dishes from the famous chef Aldo Zilli. The team members told us about many plans for development. So, despite the fact that the project has just started, I intend to visit Undercroft Mayfair again.
