Underdog BBQ

Spectacular experience! Everything was delicious and prepared with care, and the service was amazing! Matt made excellent recommendations and the chef timed everything perfectly! We started with the Smokey Devils, followed by Smoked Wings dry rubbed with Rust Belt. Next was the Backyard BBQ Brisket Platter and Fresh Cut Fries. Last we devoured the Billionaire's Mac which was the most delicious version of mac that has ever macced! Shells & cheese topped with burnt ends, whiskey onions, bacon, gouda panko, and s We ended with delightful banana pudding! Everything we ordered was so impressive, and the six sauces were all so good- we drove in from Pittsburgh and can't wait to come back!

The food was great overall. Deviled eggs were an awesome appetizer! The chilli was good, the meatloaf was great and the brisket was one of the best, if not the best I've ever had. Mashed potatoes were flavorful and unique. The shells and cheese were okay, I was expecting a smoked flavor from a BBQ place. It was my first time being there but always been on my list to go since watching the show when it originally aired!

Hostess and server were very polite and friendly. Very clean and welcoming dining area. I got the backyard brisket platter and it was excellent. The baked beans are unreal!! I've never had baked beans that even came close!! The corn bread comes with maple butter on it, and I'm not normally big on maple flavored things, but it was delicious!! They have an outdoor seating area as well, and have menu items for dogs! Ask for their barkcuterie board. Highly recommend this place!!! Will definitely be returning.

Saturday was my birthday, and we were craving some good O'le BBQ. We had never been here, so we decided to make a day trip of it. We were NOT disappointed! What an experience. Sue is a true gem and made our experience exceptional with her banter. The portions are incredible. The price was great. The food was delicious. I've thought about those onions on the Mac n cheese for days. The brisket was perfection. Oh, and they have these "pig shots" that are dangerously good. We'll be back for sure.

Underdog BBQ – Erie, PA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re in the Erie area and craving something delicious, comforting, and made with care, Underdog BBQ is definitely worth checking out. I ordered takeout and got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and zucchini, plus a side of deviled eggs—and everything was absolutely delicious. You can tell the food is home-cooked, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. The portions were generous, the presentation was great even for takeout, and the flavors really stood out. The staff was friendly and helpful when I picked up my order, which made the experience even better. Whether you're local or just passing through, I highly recommend Underdog BBQ in Erie, PA. It’s a solid spot for real, satisfying food.

Hard to pick from such a great collection of menu choices. Not that the menu is cluttered with too many items. The menu is set at an appropriate amount of options. The trouble is that each dish sounds equally as good as the others. The BBQ sauces are great, Pickled Hound stood out!

Moved to the area back in March from Pittsburgh. A couple weeks ago, I had a craving for some BBQ and looked up "bbq places in Erie", Underdog BBQ popped up, and honestly since then I've been ordering their mouth-watering brisket sandwich that pairs flawlessly with their cornbread on the side nonstop for five out of the seven days of the week I swear, I cannot get enough of their delicious food!!! 🤤 I'm bummed I've been sleeping on this place for all these months. Bonus shout out to their phenomenal customer service today (9/3/25): When I went on their website to order lunch, it had the label "out of stock" under my favorite brisket order, so I ordered their pulled pork sandwich to try, and when my husband brought it home for me he mentioned the staff "had put a treat in there for me" - it was my favorite brisket sandwich, with a note saying how they forgot to switch the out of stock back, so they gave it to me. Made my entire month and y'all have a forever regular out of me! I need to know who to thank, seriously thank y'all! Much love from Brittanica : )

This was the worst BBQ I've had. The others I was with thought the same. The pulled pork platter was a big pile of fat. The beans taste like they spilled a jar pepper in them a served it anyway. From the taste to the way the meal was presented was absolutely awful and disgusting. The waiter was nice but she didn't really seem to care if people had a good experience or not. And she looked like she just rolled out of bed. If you're looking for somewhere new and tasty to go. DONT GO HERE you will regret it i promise..
