Underdog, the vegan food truck, has managed to win over even a non-vegan like me, who isn't typically a fan of vegan cuisine. Despite my initial reservations, Underdog has become one of my go-to favorites, and I find myself ordering from them frequently. Their menu offers a variety of items like burgers, corn dogs, fries, and more, all with a creative twist and several flavorful options. Some of my personal favorites include the Goblin's Club and Jalapeno Popper Corn Dog. The corn dogs are notably large, with a batter that never feels oily. They are consistently tender and flavorful. The Animal Fries, a perfect side to burgers and corn dogs, are never overly salty, and the generous portions make them a standout. The fries themselves are cooked to a golden perfection. No meal from Underdog is complete without their loaded fries. Moving on to the burgers, the Classic Burger and The Jesse Burger are both substantial. The buns are consistently soft and fluffy, and the sauces and flavors are incredible. These are not your average vegan burgers. Beyond the delicious food, the Underdog team is friendly, accommodating, and overall pleasant. It's clear that they are dedicated to their advocacy of normalizing delicious plant-based food. In my opinion, they are doing an excellent job of offering delicious comfort food classics that can be responsibly enjoyed for generations. It's a business that I will continue to support.

I ordered on their website multiple times to pick up and it was ready right on time. The staff are very friendly. The goblin club was SO GOOD!! It's big, I ate some before taking the photos. The fries, hush puppies, chipotle aoli, and special sauce were delicious as well! I'll definitely be back 😊

Would you believe me if I said all of this is 100% vegan? I hope so, because it’s 100% true! Underdog is serving up inspired hotdogs, corn dogs, and vegan burgers in North Park! We got the goblin mode corn dog, the special (chicken sandwich), banh mi dog, and animal fries! Y’all, it is so hard to pick a favorite from that list. Everything was SO GOOD! It was my first time trying a Korean corn dog (goblin mode) and I absolutely loved that but the freshness and the jalapeños on the banh mi dog was amazing too! We’re definitely coming back to try out more of the menu 😍

Really tasty vegan spot with great customer service and nice vibes. Really enjoyed the vegan ranch and their vegan chili(on the chili cheese fries), my wife who pertains more to the carnivorous persuasion loved the classic burger. You can tell that the folks are putting a lot of effort and love into their delicious products. Will be visiting again soon!

Best people, best food! I love this place. The food has always been amazing and they service is always the best. Usually not a long wait, even with them being busier on weeeknds, If it is longer the food is always worth it. From the corn dogs, the the loaded fries to the burgers and hot dogs, it’s is all good! Not a huge daunting menu, so it’s easy to make a decision.

Very good food! Got some loaded fries and a couple hot dogs that were perfect for lunch in the park. Everything was delicious and the jalapeño popper corndog was our favorite! Limited pictures because the corn dog was already gone. Will be back soon!

We came today for the first time! Highly recommend the Jesse Burger & the corndogs! Food was delicious. Make sure you eat their food with the sauces, bombbbbb! Finally a vegan food truck in the area that shows up consistently! Come here to get your fried food fix! They've got burgers, chik'n sandwiches and, best of all, corn dogs! The service was really good too! Their tables are standing outside standing tables so if you have mobility issues I would advise getting takeaway! I'll definitely be back!

We absolutely love Underdog (as well as the breweries they share a space with when at Barley & Sword/Seek/Goal)! I love the concept of breweries sharing space with food trucks in general except you get the option of THREE breweries here! In term of food, we ordered the Jessie burger & Banh Mi Hot Dog. Our FAVORITE item we always seem to order is the Jessie burger. The burger is incredibly flavorful and is feel so balanced with the kimchi and jalapenos. The Banh Mi dog is a fun Vietnamese twist of the hot dog. I love the brightness of the veggies and jalapenos but to be honest I would recommend the Jessie burger more so than the Banh Mi dog!

I've tried Underdog on two separate occasions, and their food is consistently delightful! From the excellent banh mi hot dog to their fabulous burgers, Underdog offers something that can cater to most anyone's craving. The food options are quite creative and filling which still being affordably priced. The owner is super cool, and I love that they're all vegan so you don't have to modify anything. They also offer specials which are amazing as well. Note that they have modified their location recently and are no longer strictly at the gas station. Follow them on social media to find out where they'll be. Our favorite current spot they pop up is at Seek Beer which has ample seating to enjoy Underdog's wonderful food alongside a delicious beer.

I've been going to run club on Monday evenings at Seek Beer co for a few months now and have seen this vegan hot dog truck, and it's always been enticing. We finally stayed after run club and ordered some dinner and it did not disappoint. I went with the NYC Hot dog and shared the side of French fries. I loved everything. It's so fun to eat the vegan versions of all these foods! I was worried about it being enough food (I did just run 3 miles after all), but it was actually just enough.

I'm... Back again to order my favorite CornDogs & french fries, now my other new fav is the hush puppies too. I've always been a huge hush puppies fan and typically have found them at Louisiana food joints , So I am stoked they added these to their menu . I absolutely love this food truck . I am happy to announce new menu items. Several types of chicken sandwiches were added . I'll have to go for something new next visit and step out of comfort zone . It's just I literally crave their corn dogs, it's like childhood and the Fair all in one bite . These corn dogs are so filling and satisfying . They have very kind courteous service all the time. Mostly I still see the owners working hard serving up their food . This vegan food is so fabulous . I like my comfort food like most of us do but only with out the " animal Meat " at times . Vegan food has come such a long way and is so very creative here at Underdog Food Truck . I eat about 60/40 % meatless options so i'm not fully totally committed to vegan lifestyle but here I am so satisfied with the quality and portion sizes it's a top choice for me for sure, literally to often ( lol) . The food here is fresh . I'm so particular about anything fried not tasting heavy or oily ! I know they must use an oil that has gotta be fresh because all the times i've eaten here everything comes out golden fried never greasy. Today I found them parked the @ Brewery igniter building , 3052 El Cajon Blvd . I fully Support local small businesses that's where the treasures are in this town. Super cute spot with at least 3 different breweries . So convenient and lots of seating indoor/outdoor available . You can place an order either from the truck or the menu available at a brewery. side note Tuesday & Thursday they are still at the Texas St. location on El Cajon . Closes at 8 usually but I hear possible extended hours may be happening soon . I'll check back on that when or if it happens .

Oh my goodness this place is delicioussss!!! My favorite thing here is the Kimchi Cheddar Fries, they r to die for ...YUM!!! The service is great too, super nice people and I wasn't sure which sauce to try so he let me try all of them and there was no problem! The Goblin's Club (Korean hotdog) was amazing, I can't believe I found a vegan place like this!! They have everything I love and the best part it's vegan! I haven't been able to find a vegan Korean hotdog anywhere until here, my kids absolutely destroyed these! Will def b back for more

1st time here. I saw a few videos on IG and Yelp reviews about this food truck. We ordered a Korean corn dog, regular corn dog and classic hot dog. The corn dogs batter was delicious... crispy brown outside yet soft, inside with a stadium size hot dog inside. Average price. No seating, food truck only. Great service. Overall positive experience

We were so looking forward to trying this place after reading all the amazing yelp reviews. After coming back from out of state hubby took me here as a surprise. This was a Sunday when they were parked in North Park by a few brew houses. The selection looked great and we each ordered two dogs apiece and split a bag of fries. We each got a Danger Dog and the NYC. The Danger Dog was great. Lots of flavor and the peppers were not hot. I can see why it is a guest favorite. The fries were enough for both of us and tasted great. The disappointment came with the NYC dog. It really lacked flavor considering it had sauerkraut on it and spicy brown mustard. It was the blandest sauerkraut I have ever tasted. The service was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. 4 dogs and an order of fries came to $43.00. Slightly higher than expected. They do not sell drinks. We do not drink beer or soda and that was mainly the choice where they were parked. One of the breweries did allow us glasses of water. There was plenty of seating. We didn't have far to park and walk. I really wanted to give better than a 3 star review but I will have to come back and try some other menu items that can get my review stars higher.

This is an amazing San Diego hidden gem. They have amazing food and exceptional customer service. Whether a Vegan or non vegan you'll love the food and care it was crafted with. I highly recommend the corn dog and fries....definitely my favorites. Thank you for always taking such good care of us.

Amazing vegan chicken sandwich., and french fries.. AND VEGAN RANCH! Honestly the best vegan ranch i've ever had. They only have a food truck but never miss! I'm sad that they'll be closed for a while, but the next time i'll see them it'll be in their own space! Will always come back.

Pretty unexpected but cool spot at the corner of El Cajon and Texas. Underdog can be found at the Peking lot of a gas station. You can't miss it since it's bright red and HS a tent on the side for customers to eat under (along with a table, but no chairs) I ordered a chili cheese hot dog and thought it was okay. The dog itself was good and I enjoyed the chili, and also loved how fresh the green onions were. I do wish the cheese was melted and that the bun was more cooked. I'm definitely open to trying another item from Underdog, though! If you're someone who enjoys their hot dog buns on the toastier side, I suggest asking them to make it extra toasted here.

Loved this place so much I went three days in a row (no judgement ) consistent flavor every time and so so delicious. Loved the online ordering platform so easy to use also ordering in person was just as easy. Very friendly staff I will be back often. The location was easily accessible perfect place for a quick pick up and impossible to miss.

Amazing vegan eats at an amazing value and price! The service and staff are fantastic. Their pop ups are great too. I love seeing them at Seek Brewing in North Park on Sundays. Whether you are vegan or not, the food is delicious and worth a try.

Best vegan food truck in San Diego!! The owner of the business shared his and his wife's journey with us and their passion shows through the quality of vegan product they use. There are a ton of low quality vegan foods out there but that's not the case with underdog which is why I never turn down eating there. Food and service was amazing as always!

I did not want to leave the hotel room when I visited the area and was looking for something light, new, and not the usual fast food. I saw Underdog nearby so ordered some through Grubhub. Didn't realize they were vegan which really surprised me as I was reading the reviews. I had the classic hot dog and because it was vegan, the taste was not what I was really looking for, but hey, I did finish it so it still is really good! The winner for me were the dirty fries. The fries were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. I was surprised I finished all of it in one sitting, too! If it was closer, I'd love to explore their corn dogs and loaded fries as well.

Delicious! The texture of the korean corn dogs are so crispy and on point - I'd just recommend rolling the corn dogs in a little more sugar and perhaps some salt? I think maybe my general salt intake is high since I'm used to meat hot dogs - but the vegan hot dog was a bit bland for me. It'd also be super cool if they had additional powder toppings to mimic the classics like honey butter and parmesan. The chili fries were a huge portion - fried perfectly as well!

100% Vegan Hot Dogs, Burger, and Chick'n Strips... how could you not love it? This food truck serves hot and fresh food that gives you the fuel to continue on with your day. So many food trucks give you this gigantic meal that ultimately bogs you down, but here you get exactly the potion that you need. I ordered the Banh Mi dog which had picked veggies and sauce on a warm, soft dog-bun. I may be biased because I love sauces and typically smother my food in a variety of sauces, so I felt it could have had a bit more on there, but overall the hodog was delicious and filling. While I'm not vegan, I'm always down to enjoy a good vegan meal and support the industry providing cruelly free food options. Hot dogs are the best sub for vegan enjoyment because the meat versions are usually drenched in toppings and don't have much of a distinguished flavor beyond salt, plus it's kind gross if you really think about it. Don't let this place being vegan scare you away from enjoying a good snack/meal!

Seriously, so freaking fire. Had this a couple months ago and wow! The fries are bomb, the corn dog: ah! as a vegetarian how I miss corn dogs! Love that it's all vegan. The service was quick and they were super nice upon picking up our order. 110 would recommend. Fire!

I'm always on the search for a vegan corn dog (I know it's weird but it's my thing!) and Underdog has the best one I've tried so far! The dog was very flavorful and the batter was so crunchy on the outside. My family enjoyed their dogs as well, even though they are carnivores. My daughter thought the Bahn Mi dog was great. We found them at Seek Brewery where there was an abundance of tables and some great beer and sour choices too.

I tried a jalapeño popper corn dog and a chili cheese dog. Both were amazing but I enjoyed the chili cheese dog more. Can't wait to try more next time. They're currently operating out of a small trailer parked in a gas station lot. They don't serve drinks, but obviously you can just get one from the gas station.

Their fries are the most perfect fries in all of San Diego and everything we try is great from corn dogs to chicken sandwiches to the hush puppies. My bf and I have loved Underdog for about a year and a half now and I don't know why I haven't written a review yet. We began dining here in November of 2022 when I was pregnant because my bf is vegan. We initially tried corn dogs and chili fries but graduated to burgers and now we are stuck on their hot dogs and chicken tenders. The danger dog is impeccable and we could eat it daily. My favorites are the chili in any capacity, danger dog, and bahn mi dog. My son loves their chili too! The husband and wife couple feel like friends and I love making small talk with them as a wait a few minutes for my order. They always give us extra sauce, make recommendations, and give insider tips like ordering through their site for pickup to save money! The El Cajon location is perfect because they park near a gas station so there's parking and we can grab drinks. I love supporting this business and will continue to do so.

Their food is such great comfort food. Wonderful Hospitality and the owners are so sweet and generous. Very easy to come right off the busy street to park and order food. If you're a vegan in San diego this is a must try!

Amazing! Had the chicken tenders and they are not like other vegan places - these chicken tenders are on point! Crispy and memorable (I went to Underdog 3 days ago and still remember how good they are!)

Yummy food and very large portions! I'm a foodie by hot damn, I over ordered. Still grateful I did so I could try a good amount of food but way to much for me to finish on my own. The staff were SUPER friendly and they had mostly ran out of chilli for the fries I ordered. They customized the order with no issues and were kind enough to throw in some chicken fingers. I'm not vegan but this food was delicious! Please check it out and support local small businesses.

I'm not Vegan, but I love Underdog! French Fries: Excellent! Hamburger: Delicious! Corn Dog: Delicious! The pretzel bun was a very welcomed surprise on the burger. Great tasting food, and friendly service. If you live in North Park or passing through, stop by. Follow them on social media. You'll learn that they aren't closed on Tuesdays, they are block away from where they normally are.

Underdog is the Number 1 food truck in San Diego! When my wife first wanted to try it I was wary seeing as I had never tried vegan or vegetarian takes on classic comfort foods, my wife was (as always) right and now we have eaten through the entire menu! The owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet and they really have a passion for what they're doing! My Number 1 picks are in the burger, Hot Dog, Loaded fry and corn dog order. The Jesse has all the flavor you're looking for and really stands out! The chilli cheese dog is a tried and true American classic that they have mastered! The triple threat fries give you a little bit of everything in every bite and go great with every menu item! The Jalapeño popper corn dog will have you curious until your first bite, then you'll know you made the right choice!! Underdog is THE BEST choice you can make when out with friends!

Dang this place is gooood and all vegan! They have two styles of weenies, one like a classic hotdog the other has a softer maybe more sausage-y style. The chilli is amazing! This was my first experience with a Korean style Corndog and it did NOT disappoint-I would come here just for that. Crunchy, savory and a little sweet. I'm a saucey lady and they have a bunch of options! My boyfriend isn't vegan and really enjoyed everything we had as well! Try this place, you won't regret it!

This place is so so so good. The burger is on point, the best corn dogs, fries are always crispy. Literally wouldn't change a thing except getting them a brick and mortar to gimme a vegan milk shake.

Came to this food truck and I was completely blown away. The quality of the food was top notch and the service was great. I got the chance to try the Danger Dog and the Kimchi fries. Both were delicious, the hot dog had crunchy jalapeños and it was such a great pairing with fermented notes from the kimchi fries. The food truck was next to Goal brewery which is a very family friendly brewery overall a very nice vibe 10/10.

Been coming here since they first opened in the summer of 2022. Tried most of their hot dogs, corn dogs, and fries. The taste and quality have been consistent the entire time. Pleasantly surprised about how filling they are. Their items are pretty affordable. Particularly important - the fries are warm/hot when you get them. Other places are less consistent, so it's comforting to know Underdog is. Off of Texas and El Cajon, by the Mobil gas station. They often attend many pop-ups/markets.

They have the best fast food in San Diego! They are always so friendly and the location is great. If you can't make a trip to North Park, you will probably see them set up at a vegan market. I love their burgers on a pretzel bun and their fries are always perfect. What a great food truck!

San Diego is lucky to have underdog!! Everything is so tasty (danger dog is my go-to) and Mark and Chelsea are the nicest people! I love that one of their regular spots is the gas station parking lot. it's super easy and hassle free if you're just looking for a quick bite to eat.

Is this the best vegetarian corn dog in San Diego?? I'd have to say in the universe. The couple that runs it are caring and put love into what they do. Everything has that little extra. Like they clearly make their own corn dog batter and labored to get it just right. How many corn dogs in a week is too many? Thank God I live 15 minutes from here.
