Ate here before a show at Brighton Music Hall and it was SO GOOD. We both got the fried chicken sandwich with mild spice and it was so flavorful. Not too spicy (we are both anti-spice) but still delicious. We got the fries and potato salad as sides. The potato salad was a bit onion-y. Fries were wicked good. The funnel cake fries are also delicious but def an item you need to order and eat in person - they won’t travel well. Service was pretty quick for a Friday night. No one else was dining in. All takeout customers but still relatively busy.

The lady working the register was so rude. No greeting. Hardly any interaction with me or other customers. $18 for 3 chicken strips and a cup of soupy mac and cheese. The food was so bland and overpriced for what you get.

Google
Best hot chicken in Boston! This is the only place I will go for that. Chicken is high quality. Always moist and the skin always has a cracker crunch with tons of flavor . No matter the spice level there Is always flavor too. Not just hot for the sake of being hot.

Google
There’s a new, hot fried chicken spot in Boston and oh my GOD they bring the heat! Hands down this was the best fried chicken we’ve had in a long time! Each piece of chicken was cooked to perfection (flavorful and juicy) and at the perfect spice level: Medium. REAL SPICE LEVELS not “spicy” from black pepper and a little paprika, but a flavorful slow burn that complimented the chicken so harmoniously. DEFINITELY check this place out and choose your own spice level! Will definitely be back to try the other spice levels!

Google
One of the best fried chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. What can make it better? — nice quality, artisan bread (as opposed to super processed buns). It’s still good tho, but with baker’s quality bread, this sandwich would be hard to beat. The cole slaw is sweet, which I’m not a huge fan of, but it works. (Not a fan of sugar in my savor foods.) But it has the perfect crunch. The meat is juicy and perfectly fried. Their regular and Cajun fries are bomb. It’s addictive. I didn’t take good pics. But there are a couple for an idea!

Google
Very clean and open inside. We ordered online and picked up inside, staff was very friendly and efficient. We ordered one combo with 2 pieces (medium spicy, it was spicier than most places' medium level spice) and it comes with a side, we went with Mac and cheese. The second combo was chicken tender wrap with Mac and cheese. The chicken wasn't dry, right crisp, came with coleslaw inside the wrap, if you don't want something heavy, the wrap is a good balance with something fried. The Mac and cheese was ok, nothing too special or flavorful, might try the fried pickles or Cajun fries next time instead.

Visiting from out of town, and the cashier was very rude! Putting her eyes in her head and frowns on her face. I didn’t order anything because her body language really deterred me! So visiting Newton I will never come to this place again! You responded with a lie, you could’ve checked cameras because, she informed us it was carry out only and I was okay with that! So your whole statement was a lie! I definitely will not be back. Please, for the sake of your business just tell the young lady to lose the attitude thank you.

Google
What! This place was amazing. My daughter talked me into going saying they have the best chicken sandwich she has had. I was not excited. It was great! You can get different spice levels, Go Big. It was really good, not your average or even above average chicken sandwich.

Yelp
Came here after a Boston college football game and glad this was our stop. I'm obviously not familiar with the area but high yelp reviews can never let you down. The place is cute. It was loud I feel like there was a party upstairs or something the bass was vibrating lol. It was kind of busy so I did have a bit of a wait for my food. The chicken was seasoned well , had a lot of flavor. The sauce on the side was good also ! I do wish I got a different side to try than fries but this place is solid.

Yelp
Really good fried chicken sandwich spot in Allston. I was skeptical when I walked in because it was so empty. We got the chicken sandwich-mild combo with cajun fries. My cousin got their bowl with mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, and gravy. If you like the one from kfc, you'll like this. I was surprised the chicken stayed crispy even in the gravy. I love fried chicken sandwiches and this one was an 8/10. I love that they give you gloves to eat the sandwich.

Yelp
Came back for the hot chicken sandwich and it's delicious! Batter is so light and crispy and super juicy. Though I got hot, it's barely anything. One of the best fried chicken sandwiches for sure As for the sides, would pass on them... the potato salad was so overwhelmingly tasting of corn and the fried pickles were not fried enough or with any flavor

Yelp
Flavors - 4/5 Textures - 4.5/5 Presentation - 4/5 Value for Money - 4.2/5 Would return? Yes First impressions? This sandwich is no joke--it's hefty and it slaps just by the looks of it. I opted for their fried chicken sandwich at a Medium heat level. Classic Nashville hot chicken flavors shine through, though the Medium heat level leaned towards the mild side. The chicken itself was crispy, with a thin batter that held its ground, though it verged on the dry side. The size of the sandwich throws off the proportions, making it a bit tricky to get that perfect bite with everything. The pickles are the secret sauce here--they tie it all together beautifully.

Yelp
The best chicken around. Hands down. I eat here twice a week at work. I wish there was another underdog hot chicken closer to my house

Yelp
Underdog was not really packed on Monday evening as it seemed like more people ordered take-out or delivery. I got the combo#1 with French fries and got medium as the spice level. I did not wait too long before it was ready. The sandwich was spicy, but not to the point where it was overwhelming. The fries were not bad, although I wish it tasted slightly less oily. I am glad they provided gloves as the process of eating this sandwich was really messy. The chicken tenders are breaded nicely, and each bite is quite crispy. The tenders are decently sized, so you get quite a bit of meat in each bite. The kaleslaw was not overwhelming and went well with the sandwich. I think they add a bit too many pickles to this sandwich, but if you are a fan of them, then you are in for a treat. I wish the bun was better quality as it falls apart way too fast while eating. Overall, I think it is alright if you want a decent chicken sandwich as it leaves me satisfied, but it is hard to justify its increasing prices so I would not come back that often.

Yelp
By far my favorite place to order from! Every time I order I swear I'm impressed by the first bite. I'm like, no way it's as good as I remember, and I'm right, because it's better!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
The chicken is 5/5. It's super crispy on the outside and super juicy and tender on the inside. Every time. The mild has ok kick and underdog is very spicy but still tons of flavor. The French fries are always crispy and tasty too. The Mac and cheese is meh. Not a lot of flavor. I'd skip that.

Yelp
Excellent chicken ... eaten there few times and consistently moist, fresh. Have multiple heat ranges to choose from... I started at medium and now mild and still plenty heat. Tried the fried Oreos and they were good, but should use the double stuff ones as more cream needed in fried cookie... Staff a well oiled machine as tons of Uber eats or other delivery pickups non stop... prices reasonable too ... I wish this place was around when I was a college person in area ...

Yelp
I'm so impressed by the quality of chicken here! Each piece is fried to perfection-- the breading is crispy, crunchy, and flavorful, while the chicken itself is super tender, moist, and lightly seasoned. No dry or soggy chicken at Underdog! I decided to go for their combo #2 which had 3 tenders and 1 side for $14. The tenders came with some of their dipping sauce which was a flavorful spicy mayo. I got the tenders with their "crazydog" spice level-- if you have a high spice tolerance, this is a good spice level for you! It had a manageable spice level for me. For my side I got their fried pickles and was shocked at how massive the portion was. Their pickles are sliced thinly and the breading on them is thick. The pickle got a little soft from being fried but the breading more than made up for the crunchiness. Like others have said, this is not the cleanest meal you'll eat but they do provide gloves!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy as I assume we arrived pretty late near closing time. Food came out at a decent time. I got the sandwich, fried oreos, lemon fries, cajun fries. The cajun fries had the right amount of spice and crisp to it. The sandwich was mid, not sure if I would order again. The chicken definitely had to be juicier. The fried oreos were also mid...would not order again. I would come back for the fries!!

Yelp
Underdog Hot Chicken has the best hot chicken in boston by far. the prices are fair and the chicken is perfectly juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. their spices are so tasty it is addicting. me and my girlfriend come here multiple times a week and eat inside. the staff is very sweet and the food comes out in a timely manner. we went for my girlfriends birthday and they gave us free funnel fries and fried oreos! great service and even better food. i'd recommend to anybody!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night. Was only me and another small group. I placed my order first and waited over 20 minutes to get my food. Some of the people in the other group got their food before me and ordered the same exact thing. Meanwhile they were prioritizing grub hub orders as I see many come in and out with their orders After 25 min I got up and asked them for my order and they finally bring it out. Fries were cold and chicken sandwich was as well. Overall disappointing experience and i was not able to enjoy my food as a result. Maybe you will have a better experience ordering on grub hub takeout?

Yelp
This is the best spicy chicken restaurant in Boston that I've had thus far, for the fact that they serve more than Chicken Tenders! I got the combo #4 with whole wings and drum sticks w/ fries and it was PLENTY of food, I ate the left overs for lunch the next day. I ordered my chicken mild and it was surprisingly seasoned very well, other places just don't have much flavor unless you order them spicy hot. The fries were actually good as well which was even more of a surprise, because most chicken restaurants offer those bland battered fries that need plenty of salt and/or ketchup. The service was speedy unlike some other places that make you wait 30+ min for less food (bbq chicken for example), and the staff was okay as well. The bathrooms were clean and they have a free mouthwash dispenser in there, but I didn't see any cups. The only thing that I could complain about is the annoying pop music playing in the background, but that's neither here nor there, so I give it 5 stars.

Yelp
I will see first time here. Grandson likes it . Good look good went with Hot flavor and it is. They give you a slice of bread , comes in handy.

Yelp
Fried chicken is life! It's 2022....I am done making excuses for my chicken habit. If there's a fried chicken sandwich to be had, I will unapologetically answer the call :-) Underdog hot chicken...has there ever been a better name? One of the newer additions to the ever changing Allston food scene features a simple concept, simple menu, but big big flavors. Nashville hot inspired chicken doesn't get enough shine if you ask me. Well....in this case chicken tenders. I'll admit a tender sandwich isn't only different, but it almost feels sacrilegious. Underdogs sandwich features 2 huuuuge crispy and juicy chicken tenders(your choice of heat level), topped with coleslaw. Normally I am not fan of slaw but this provides a good cooling element to balance the heat. The breading could have used a little more seasoning in my opinion, but this is overall a great sandwich. The real underdog here are the fries. Hot, crispy, well seasoned. Easily one of the more enjoyable fries I've had in a very long time and instantly my favorite version In the city. Fans of chicken sandwiches unite....Underdog is not to be slept on!

Yelp
This is a great chicken sandwich I highly recommend this place ! The fries was very crispy and full of flavor. The only thing I would like is a combo that actually comes with a drink.

Yelp
This review is based on deceptive business practices and not quality of food but in the fact it feels like they are stealing from customers! Upon review of my receipt I found that I WAS CHARGED MORE THAN THE SUBTOTAL AND TAX! The amounts on the receipt did not add up. There is no transparency and this seems like it was done with the purpose to hide an extra fee! I went back to review the menu and there are no disclosures of any such extra fee. No one disclosed this fee when checking out nor was there a large sign at the time notifying customers of the fee. I am not bothered by the amount charged but rather how deceptive it is to charge customers a fee without or properly listing it out on the receipt. "Credit" can mean a credit card fee or some amount that the customer has to their benefit. Once again, it is deceptive to also hide an extra fee and calling it a "credit" if they mean a credit card "fee", the opposite is a "credit". Overall this is a disservice to customers and I would question the legality of what this business is doing. Would not recommend!

Yelp
3.5/5 Pros: -Crispy chicken -Huge sandwiches! -Good variety of sides Cons: -Would be great to have a sandwich only option instead of having to buy a combo -Would also be great to have a spice option in between mild (which tastes sweet) and medium (which is pretty spicy--even spicier than the Nashville hot at Upper Crust, which is still my #1 local spicy chicken sandwich) -The sandwich is made of tenders which is kind of unwieldy Overall, this is definitely a spot for fried chicken sandwich fans to check out!

Yelp
To avoid exaggeration, this was indeed one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I ordered a combo one. That's a couple of huge chicken tenders, kaleslaw, and pickles on a bun with their amazing home sauce. Two pieces of warning, one have plenty of napkins. Two, once you pick it up, you might not wanna set it back down because it's one big delicious mess! Also highly recommend the kaleslaw for your side order.

Smooth C.

Yelp
first time trying this spot out , food was ok. but I will not be returning . Close time says 11 pm and I sat down to eat mid way of eating I got told their closing in 5 mins at 1030 pm . half way through my meal I had to pack up and leave. never mind my ride was an hour home . that just made my experience terrible

Yelp
My favorite hot chicken sandwich ever!!! Chicken is sooo tender/juicy and flavorful. I've probably been here nearly 10 times and only once has the chicken been not perfect. Buns are delicious, and the kale slaw is so refreshing. Their sauce is also amazing (some kind of gochujang aioli maybe?) and perfectly brings everything together. I usually go for the medium spice for the sandwich and then mild if I'm getting just the fried chicken itself (which is also delicious but needs the dipping sauce for enough flavor). Sides - I usually get the kale slaw to balance out the heavy fried food. Have also had the fried pickles and the Cajun fries which are both delicioussss. Please come here if u love fried chicken!!! You will not regret it.

Yelp
Underdog makes a mean fried chicken! Now this is finger lickin' good. I've had the tenders and the fried chicken sandwich and both have been so tasty. We got the spicy (medium) and it can make you sniffle a bit if you're not a regular spicy food eater. The chicken is always well cooked, super crispy (we actually ended up eating our sandwich about two hours after ordering it and it was still crispy). The sides we've tried so far are kale slaw, mac and cheese, and the Cajun fries. I'd recommend all of them for different reasons. The kale slaw adds a bit of salad and a crunch to your dish. The mac and cheese is great to cut the spice if you're spice averse. The Cajun fries can add more spicy flavor when you want to kick it up a notch! So you can't go wrong.

Max M.

Yelp
Favorite takeaway spot for fried chicken in Boston. The fried chicken sandwich is our go to. Buttered bun, great flavor and perfectly crispy, slaw is a nice touch too, and always order it hot. Have also had the fried oreos a few times and really enjoy them.
google avatar

Nikolai K.

Yelp
This place is now one of the handful of like 2-3 places that I recommend if someone is asking me about food in Allston. It is excellent for several reasons: - Fried chicken here is juicy, flavorful, just spicy enough, and crispy - The kale slaw is incredible and delicious, sweet but also light - Bun was really tasty and the sandwich was perfect - Also no paralysis by analysis - 3 combo options - 1) sandwich, 2) 3 wings and 3 drumsticks, or 3) 3 tenders, each with one side. All likely bomb looking around at people enjoying them but I can only comment on the sandwich. I want to come back!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
Wow, this place is really really good! I got the chicken sandwich combo with fries, and it took a while for the food to be ready but that's because they freshly prepare it to order which I really appreciate. The chicken was so crispy and moist, and the breading never really got soggy even though I had leftovers the next day. Fries were also crisp and delicious. I only wish we had the option to do 2 half sides! It's a bit pricey for just fries and a sandwich, and I noticed that the combo used to come with a drink, but not anymore. Drink options are just canned sodas or water, so it's really not a huge cost for the store. Nonetheless, it's worth paying extra for the quality of the food!

Yelp
I succumbed to my own suckering by snagging delivery from Underdog after making a #NationalChickenFingerDay post on IG. Unlike trying to tickle yourself, your social marketing can and will work on ol' number one. I'm just going to say this: I've never been a fan of delivery for most foods. Damaging fee structures and flimsy relationships with businesses aside, very few foods actually travel super well, and despite all the advancements in food transport technology, fried chicken still has a half life of approximately four minutes in a to-go box. That's science, baby. I was in a hospital and I had no option to pickup so I had to do the damn thing. Duly noted. Hot spiced #2 combo with frickles as a side promised three crunchy, meaty tenders with a generous pop of heat. Well, must've been my luck day - I got a bonus tender (hereby referred to as the boney tendy). Wife got the same combo with no spice fry and regular fries. Decided eff it and order fried Oreos, too. The chicken was nicely if a bit unevenly dashed with a potent and delicious dry rub. Appreciate a sauce less heat esp when getting to go, but it was heavy in some spots and absent in others. Looking for that even coat! The frickles didn't make the journey - they were limp and lifeless. The chicken was outstanding! A $14 combo may strike you as expensive but 1) chicken be like that these days, and 2) it's two meals - prepare to doggy bag. And the fried Oreos were glorious, and completely unnecessary after what crushing four massive tendies did to my already stressed tum. Worth it? Worth it. Really really wanting to go back for a fresh-out-the-fryer experience. Until then, a very strong four is fair.

Yelp
There are a few things I really want to look for in a chicken Sammy. The bread was good. Nothing got soggy. It was thick and tasted great. Chicken was moist. Had good crunch from batter. But the sauce had no flavor but spicy. You know? I wish it had more flavor. But.. the kaleslaw. Omg. It. Was. Amazing. The slaw overshadowed everything. It made the sandwich for me. Sauce had no flavor? Np. The slaw got you.

Yelp
This was a really good version of a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. At this point, we are nitpicking tiny details on what makes a good sandwich apart from a GREAT sandwich. The spice level is perfect. There is instant heat in every bite and it tickles the back of your throat. Inhale at the wrong moment and you will cough a spicy lung out! The fried chicken is crisp on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. Coleslaw is delicious, almost too good for the sandwich that it competes with the fried chicken! If this was missing something, it is a strong sauce that pulls it together. Maybe a mayo-based spicy sauce, similar to Dave's Hot Chicken. Don't get me wrong. This slaw is miles better than Dave's, but somehow when combined into a hot chicken sandwich, it falls slightly short.

Yelp
Best Korean sandwich is Boston area! I drive an hour to get this sandwich. The service is amazing in the ambulance is awesome.

Yelp
We were walking down Brighton Ave in Boston looking for a place to have a quick lunch. The area has a lot of interesting places but they're all a little pretentious. We stopped in, took a look at the menu, and we knew it was the right place. The chicken was amazing fresh and juicy The fried pickles were great also. Others in the group, got regular french fries, and the Cajun fries. Both were great. Food was fantastic and definitely a great value

Bryan A.

Yelp
This is some of the better fried chicken that I've had in the Boston area. I ordered the combo that came with wings and drumsticks. Despite this being a delivery order that annoyingly took more than an hour in transit, the chicken was still crispy and the sauce that was on it was absolutely delicious. It had some spice and a little bit of sweetness. The dipping sauce that it comes with is pretty good too, but the chicken really doesn't need it. The macaroni and cheese is far from spectacular, but it's not terrible either. One of the more amusing aspects is that they give you a pair of plastic gloves to wear when you eat your chicken. It seemed odd at first, but eating a bunch of fried wings and drumsticks with your hands is kind of messy... so, it cuts down on the number of times that you need to wash your hands. An odd but nice touch. The chicken is worth the price of admission. At some point, I'll try their tenders or a sandwich. If I lived closer to this place, I would probably eat there way too much.
google avatar

Miko B.

Yelp
I ordered the Combo 1 and was really surprised by how great it tasted! It came with two huge pieces of chicken tenders, which were perfectly juicy and crispy. Very well-seasoned. The sandwich also comes with kaleslaw in it, and is topped with a toasted brioche bun. I got the hot spiciness level which added a nice (very manageable) kick to the meal. The side of fries was just okay, but I did enjoy dipping them in the sauce that comes with the sandwich.
google avatar

Crissy M.

Yelp
This Allston spot offers damn good spicy chicken! Their menu is very simple, and has few items. I opted for the chicken sandwich and boy did it hit! I got the medium of the spice levels, and this still packed a punch. The chicken itself is crunchy, moist and flavorful. The 2 tenders were kept together in a buttery brioche bun, and a really nice kale coleslaw. If it wasn't for that coleslaw, I wouldn't have made it through that sando alive! Now the mac and cheese on the other hand was very disappointing. It was just pasta and a watery and flavorless cheese sauce, topped off with paprika(?) Definitely will be returning and sticking with mild to fulfilling my chicken tender needs.

Ruby And Adry R.

Yelp
We found this place on tiktok and decided to try it out. I got the junior combo with the cajun fries. The fries were thick cut and the junior sandwich was good. It was a lot of food, I can only image how big the regular sized combo was. The medium spice level wasn't bad, it had a lil kick to it. My partner had the 3 tender combo with lemon pepper fries. It was very filling but we've had better fries. Overall, it was slow service for an empty place. Good for a quick lunch if you have some downtime and need a bang-for-your-buck meal. It wasn't amazing but I would go there again.

Yelp
Chicken sandwich was to die for! It was a good price for the massive sandwich we got and we were able to split the sandwich between two people

Yelp
Hot chicken has landed in Boston! Hot chicken has a distinctive flavor that is a little tangy and spicy but doesn't overwhelm the taste with just heat. Nashville hot chicken sandwich is crispy and savory. Depending on your heat tolerance, you can get no heat all the way "crazydog". I did not feel like wrecking my stomach so I have not tried crazy dog spicy level yet. Mild: still a bit spicy if you're sensitive to spicy, medium: has some heat and for me a good balance of hurt and flavor, hot: I would probably only get in sandwich form instead of wings, legs, or tenders because the sandwich bread and toppings balances it out, crazydog: I believe I can handle this because the hot was not nearly as close Howlin' Rays (Los Angeles) heat levels. PS I will miss Kim's Tofu, but I'm glad that the owner's decided to pivot to something fresh.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
This is indeed an easy 5 stars. Spicy chicken sandwiches made of extra crispy and juicy chicken tenders. You can get them with no heat or various degrees of heat. If you go with heat, the side of kale slaw is a good way to cool off. I can't wait to try the other sides as well. This is currently my go-to chicken sandwich place now that Tender Greens closed.
google avatar

Okari O.

Yelp
Why 5 stars: 1) the food was good 2) and big, 3) the people were friendly, and the vibes were 4) great. Called ahead for a Combo 1 and 3. Had the fries and Mac and cheese as sides. It was set to be ready in 10 minutes (love the fast speed!). We arrived and our food was ready. This food is like a mix of Nashville southern food and Korean. The chicken has a certain spice profile, with paprika I think as a main ingredient. The chicken sandwich is three tenders topped with kaleslaw between two buns (like the Canes sandwich, but bigger and Korean). It was juicy and a great portion size. The Mac and cheese I ordered was okay, but I preferred the fries. The fried chicken from the Combo 3 was good, but my favorite part was still the chicken sandwich. The employee who handed us our food was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Underdog! This is a gem in Allston.

Yelp
I saw photos of this on Instagram and I immediately knew I had to check it out! Due to the table spacings we were actually able to eat in the restaurant which was great as we could try it fresh out of the kitchen. Items we ordered (as of 3/2021). Combo #1 (Hot) - $12 Combo #2 (Mild) w/ extra tender - $15 They definitely don't joke around when it comes to the spice levels. Make sure you have a high tolerance if you go for the HOT level. I usually handle medium spice levels at most restaurants without issue but their MILD spice level had me sweating after a few bites. The sandwich has 3 tenders stacked together on it. The chicken itself is superb. Plenty of juice and very crunchy. They don't go overboard with the panko so you can still taste the chicken you're biting into. Their slaw is great with plenty of crunch and nice creamy texture to it. This is definitely a great (albeit more expensive) alternative to Popeye's chicken sandwich.
google avatar

Wilson L.

Yelp
Very solid addition to the Allston restaurant lineup. Although the chicken is not perfect, what I appreciate about Underdog is how fresh and tender the chicken is. The chicken sandwich has 2 tenders in it, slaw, pickles, and their homemade "comeback" sauce which tasted like a chipotle mayo. I got the "hot" variation and didn't find it spicy at all. Also, the inside of the tender was bland - brining it could add some additional flavor. With that being said though, overall the sandwich was still tasty. Nice crunch, mild heat, and very tender tenders. The fries were also good, very well seasoned.
google avatar

Yelp
SO delicious. We basically ordered the whole menu and I think it is the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in Boston. THE BEST. It was perfectly juicy, flavorful, and the right price. I also have to give a special shoutout to their fries and coleslaw. The fries reminded me of Mcdonalds but less salty and the coleslaw had a sweetness to it. It also wasn't inundated with Mayo which is usually what I hate about coleslaw. I got the medium spice but I personally didn't think it was that spicy. Maybe I will try hot next time! Highly recommend checking this place out!!

Yelp
In my five years of Yelp Elite, this is one of my top hot chicken, or even fried chicken, places in the area. PSA, there are fries! It's on the menu in the shop although not in the print out/on their Instagram. I called the day after their opening day and ordered their wings and drumsticks combo #3 which comes with a drink and 2 sides, and added an extra drumstick for good measure. I got it medium spicy, which turned out less spicy than I expected, so next time I'll probably get hot, and someday, "crazy dog". My spice tolerance is relatively high but not even close to the highest among my friends. Happy to report the chicken was flavorful and juicy, and the skin is crispy and well seasoned. The mac and cheese was creamy and topped with breadcrumbs. I love the detail of using white bread at the bottom of the box to soak the sauces so the chicken isn't soggy. Given that it was their second day with a brand new team, the service was good and without issue, albeit a tad slow as they train up their team, but they were so nice, the food was on time, and nothing was missed in my order. I will definitely be ordering from here again to try their chicken sandwhich! FYI I was not contacted by this business in any way before ordering.

Yelp
A new solid fried chicken spot in Allston! I got the mild fried chicken sandwich and it was just so crispy and juicy. I can't handle any spice usually but thought I would try the mild and it was pretty spicy for me. The flavors were great though and you'll love it if you love spicy foods. The sandwich itself was huge and it definitely filled me with, especially with a side. Each combo comes with at least one side and a drink. Hop on that chicken sandwich craze and try out Underdog!

Yelp
This food was good! I love how they get you gloves so you don't get messy. The sandwich and fries were booked to perfection.

Yelp
Visited Underdog twice for hot chicken and I came away from both visits with acid reflux, but boy is it worth it! You may choose your spice levels, which is good if you don't wanna overdo it with the spice. The menu is relatively simple which is much appreciated since you don't have to jump thru too many mental hoops for having your perfect meal. The skin is crunchy and perfectly seasoned with their combination of spices while the meat is moist and juicy. Both the tenders and sandwich lived up to the hype while the Cajun fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned on the outside and soft on the inside. Coleslaw is a decent alternative for sides if you want something to cool you off. The bread didn't do much for me since my mouth was on fire but it's still a nice touch since Nashville hot chicken is usually accompanied by a slice of bread. Definitely making a return trip. Yelp
I wasn't that impressed by this restaurant. I'm a big fan of Korean fried chicken but felt that while their version is perfectly crispy the meat is very dry. Most of the flavor comes from the rub which I thought was just too much pepper for the "mild" version. As my side I opted for the mac & cheese which was also not much to speak off. Maybe would be better as a sandwich version rather than just getting the tenders.

Yelp
Highly recommend!! I got the Combo #1, a hot chicken sandwich with 2 massive, juicy tenders inside and a side of your choosing. For $14, it's filling and the flavor is worth the price. I got mild, but would definitely go medium/hot for more spice. Didn't think I liked kaleslaw at first walking in, but my mind was changed when I bit into the toasty brioche bun paired with the best comeback sauce! SIDES: Cajun fries are good, but would be nice if they had a spicier kick to them. Can't go wrong with fried pickles, but a thicker breading coating to make them more crispy would have made them perfect. The gloves they provide you are definitely appreciated as it can get a bit messy!
