I brought my small children and teens here for some doughnuts and coffee today and was not disappointed! Great environment for all ages! As soon as we walked in we felt immediately welcomed. We were greeted with smiles and the TV was changed to spiderman for the littles. The doughnuts and coffee were amazing 😍, and the little play nook in the corner were warm and inviting for relaxing! I'll definitely be coming back here and will be telling everyone about this place!

My husband and I have been regulars at stay glazed since we moved to Asheville. The donuts (including the gluten free and vegan mochi donuts), sandwiches, coffee, all other offerings and even the atmosphere are fantastic. We bring friends and family all the time and they all say these are the best donuts and breakfast sandwiches they’ve ever had (gluten free sandwich options available too). Not to mention that the owner uses her influence on social media to promote a ton of other small, local businesses across Asheville, making Stay Glazed an awesome addition to the Asheville small business community. Love y’all!

Google
Stopped in here with my out of town cousins on a whim. I never even knew there was a bakery down under this building! The atmosphere is so fun with the toys and the lounge nook thing. You can even draw on the walls?!! The donuts are flavorful & fresh baked DAILY. I am so happy to pay for good quality baking. Oh! Did I mention their mochi donuts are gluten free and freaking vegan?!! I run into people that go here regularly and I had no idea it was even here. Breakfast is quick and hot and delicious. I got a chai latte with a shot of espresso and omg yum

Google
Cool little donut shop with several things to taste and try. I got the miso maple and the Simpson and their tastes are unique and great. The donuts are very fluffy when you bite into it. Very fresh! Closed on Monday & Tuesday so plan accordingly. There’s seating inside and the staff is friendly and relaxed. A must try if you’re into donuts!

Google
WOW! This little place has it going. My wife went down to grab coffee from the hotel and ended up bringing back a box of donuts. These are a must try. The coffee is great too. I would describe the donuts as light and fluffy. Much more to them than a KK donut, but still light and airy. Soooo good with a lot of options. Glad we stopped by.

Google
What a cute find! Vegan/gluten free (celiac!) and regular donuts in a huge variety of flavors! All delicious. Met the owner who was absolutely lovely. Adorable space for dining in, reading a book. Don’t hesitate to check it out!

Google
I always love trying donut shops when I travel, so I was happy to find a spot in Asheville I hadn't tried before. My husband and I tried: - Everything Yeast Donut - Raspberry Siracha Yeast Donut - Cereal Milk Yeast Donut - Miso Maple Mochi Donut I loved the glazes on the donuts. I'd say the Everything was my favorite. I found the donuts themselves a little dry. The mochi donut wasn't like other mochi donuts I've had. It seemed to be very light on the mochi because that classic mochi texture wasn't really there.

Google
Amazing donuts, staff and atmosphere. It's also the basement of a really cool historic building! I ate my donut so fast I didn't get a chance to take a photo!

Yelp
I had taken my walking tour of downtown Asheville, and our tour guide highly recommended Stay glazed donuts. I came back later that evening and tried the original glazed donut and original glaze mochi. Both tasted very unique and simply delicious. The staff was generally friendly, and they engaged some of the customers in brief conversation. The interior was decorated as uniquely as some of their donuts. It looked like a fun place to simply hang out and enjoy a couple of donuts. Overall, they have a very creative and eclectic variety of donuts. I would definitely consider returning the next time I'm in Asheville. Cheers

Yelp
It's f#%king BRILLIANT!!! I save 5 stars for the truly unique experiences, but I would give this place 6 in a heartbeat.. The Good * Flavors = Culinary masterpieces * One of a kind location, both in and UNDER the downtown area * Service was bar none, the guy behind the counter treated me like a long lost best friend * Donuts are hefty * They open at 9 on Saturday, so you don't have to be up at the crack of freaking dawn just to beat the crowd * There is always a place to park downtown * The shop is filled with all kinds of cool signage and knick knacks * Merch available *The list goes on.. There is no bad here. I'd say prepare yourself for LIFE CHANGING donuts, but you can't possibly prepare for what StayGlazed has to offer..

Yelp
Decent, but very small coffee / donut shop. Gourmet donuts that taste great, breakfast burrito was great. Staff was rude because we ordered a "large order" of 4 burritos and 6 donuts. "Oh great, our chef is going to love this..." We waited 30 min for our food. It's a wonderful spot to come if you have the time, but they take their time. Friendly staff, but bring your patience.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved this place! We got 6 different flavors and all 6 were delicious. 10/10. Thai tea was my personal favorite flavor!

Yelp
I went to Stay Glazed Donuts & Cafe while visiting Asheville! It was right around the corner ( walking distance ) from where I was staying ( Marriot AC Hotel down town)! What a cozy little place! I had an egg and bacon burrito that was delicious! I highly recommend you stop by for donuts or other yummy dishes....SO much to choose from!

Yelp
We are here visiting and came across this local coffee house. Takes you right back to 80's childhood memories. Staff a very nice and accommodating. They have homemade fresh doughnuts and coffee bagel breakfast sandwiches and a vegan/gluten-free option for those who have celiac. They also sell stickers and hoodies. Stickers are fun. The bagel was steaming when it came to the table, the latte was okay and gluten-free Raspberry lemon doughnuts were pretty good. Give this place a try if in town.

Yelp
Delicious donuts. Awesome service. Great conversation with the staff. Highly recommend. I'll be back again.

Yelp
Based on reviews and social media posts, we were pretty stoked to try out these DoughP donuts. Considering they sometimes sell out early I decided to get there right at 8am when they open but the lights were out and doors locked. After verifying their hours, waiting around a bit in case they were late, etc I decided to walk somewhere else for coffee. On the way back I saw the lights were on so stopped again. Doors still locked but at 8:30 they put a sign on the door that they'd open at 8:45 so again I hung around. Late opening aside, the employees were nice but the donuts were just average. Maybe I'm spoiled by so many great local choices at home. If you are walking by and want something sweet, they are worth a shot to see what you think.
google avatar

De'Anna W.

Yelp
I was excited about this place and made sure to set an alarm to wake up and walk over early before my hotel check out. I picked a smaller doughnut because the other ones looked so big and I wasn't sold on the flavors options today but I guess I picked gluten free which is where I went wrong. My single doughnut was $3.21, small, not cakey but more of a cold, chewy texture and after one bite I decided not to finish it. This place seems to be a hit so I am sad that I didn't enjoy my treat but maybe next time if I'm in the area I will give them a second chance and get something else.

Yelp
Ok my daughter wanted to come here for donuts, so I splurged my daily calorie intake. She was quick to say half a dozen (there are 3 of us), then we somehow ended up with an extra. She absolutely lived her Simpson donut which she described as original donut with strawberry glaze and lots of sprinkles. I had the raspberry Siracha which was yummy ! My husband had the original and the miso maple which were the best donuts he's ever tasted. So this definitely elevates the standard donut. They are unique and tasty. I realized after ordering donuts that you can order eggs and traditional breakfast as well. Lots of juices and drinks, coffee is excellent. A little underground hole in the wall, not a big place. They were following all safety protocol. The guy taking our order was very friendly. Make sure you watch your steps in and out. Sometimes you gotta break out of the standard mold. Life is short!
google avatar

Brielle P.

Yelp
We did a donut and beer pairing at twin peaks brewery! The doughp donuts were excellent! Loved how small they were, not bite sized but not huge. Perfect size! What a fun time. I loved the traditional glazed.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
No donuts on my keto diet, though I probably could have bought just one for a small bite. That did not occur to me until later. So I stuck with their breakfast platter, which is all protein and fat. Two perfectly fried eggs with sausage. The sausage was excellent. Spicy and tasty, it picked up that last few bits of egg yolk nicely. The drip coffee was very, very good as well. Great breakfast, friendly service, neat little "underground" cafe near downtown Asheville and yes, get a donut and let me know how badly I missed out. [Review 12688 overall, 2480 of 2019.]

Yelp
I know, don't go to a donut shop for burritos, but this burrito really pushed the boundary of tasting like nothing and came complete with way too many potatoes, cheese like you'd find on nachos, and sausage that, well, when I asked what kind of sausage it was while ordering, I was told 'just like, a normal mild sausage' so I definitely should have known better. The sandwich made with a maple miso donut in place of bread was much the same except for the fact that the bread was a maple miso donut, which was at least interesting.

Yelp
Wasn't anything special. Flavors were very awkward and really didn't make sense. Sold out of most the flavors when we arrived at 10:00 and by this there were 4 flavors left besides the GF flavors. I'm not sure what the owner was thinking to respond the way they did. So let's be completely honest we have 13 people in our party and we all agreed that they weren't good. We went to 2 different donut shops that day and these weren't anything I would recommend to anyone. Yelp asked to give a review and so I did, you as an owner should just take it as it is, a review, and understand you aren't for everyone, and that's okay. However, to lash out and bash me because you didn't like something, is childish. I gave 2 stars and not 1 be grateful!
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
These doughnuts were funky and delicious. I felt like I was in NYC walking down the steps to enter. My husband and I ordered a 1/2 dozen, the B.R.C., Mango Brownie, Old-Fashioned Cake, The Real O.G., The Simpson and Miso Maple. My personal favorite was the maple, his was the B.R.C. This spot is definitely worth checking out if you are in Asheville.

Yelp
I can't write or speak enough good things about the Underground and Doughp! You cannot go wrong here. Doughp Doughnuts immediately became my favorite donut shop around Asheville when they came on the scene. Their creative combinations and classic toppings are always an amusement park for the taste buds. The dough is soft, never too airy .. always doughy. Basically always perfect Upon discovering their doughnuts, I realized they have a full menu of delicious savoriness. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and a slew of breakfast options. I've enjoyed their kale and quinoa salad and the breakfast bowl. Chef Jay puts all the love in his recipes and donut creations. It truly doesn't go unnoticed. Don't miss any of their pairing events around town with other local hot spots, and if anyone ever asks if you want to get glazed in Asheville, say yes!!
google avatar

Haley D.

Yelp
Not a huge donut person but wow am I wishing I got more here. The atmosphere is super low key and you have to walk down a staircase to get inside. The display case was impressive but I got a glazed donut. It was perfect. We also got a breakfast hoagie which I'm still dreaming about. It was simple but great. It had ham, eggs, pimento cheese.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
They're open on Tuesday mornings so don't let the Yelp hours dissuade you. Under $4 for one donut not bad for an early morning snack. The Simpson's TV show theme throughout this basement destination fit well with the daily baked donuts. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Holy donuts!!! Ummm what can say other than hot damn those are freaking delicious donuts! The Caramel apple and the smore to love were so goooooood !!! Also had the ube white chocolate and ginger bread donuts. Wow! Good thing this place is not where I live. These donuts have the perfect chew to them too. absolutely perfect donuts! People of Asheville you are stoked!!! My buddy Adam brought us here yesterday and so glad he did. The coffee was spot too! 10 stars, 2 thumbs up and a freaking hell yeah!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
For a coffee and donut shop in downtown Asheville what better slogan than "Get Glazed, Stay Glazed, Be Dope"! I had an americano and it was quite good and love their to-go cold cups with a built-in coffee sleeve. The yeast donuts are a wonderful texture but for me the icing/glaze was too sweet. I know, I know it's supposed to be but i should have just had a drip coffee from the sugar that was pouring through my veins. I would definitely go back and try a different variety from the unique flavors! I had the espresso and my hubby had the Nutella. They also make a few breakfast sandwiches and other treats but go for the the donuts!
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
The coffee was delicious. For their donuts, they use a lot of locally sourced ingredients. We tried 6 different donuts. Each one was very different and delicious. They were all very SWEEEET !!!! I love donuts and these were some of the sweetest I have ever tasted. They also serve breakfast bowls and sandwiches. Give them a try. The unique flavors are worth the trip.
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Crazy expensive for donuts. $40 for a dozen is insane. Had different toppings but basically the same airy bottom. Small selection not at all what we were hoping for when looking for a donut place. We are not fans of Dunkin' Donut type places at all, so we understand having a more unique selection but the small variety and really high price tag will keep us from going back.
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
This donut place is so good!! The donuts are fresh, fluffy, and flavorful. Everything you would want in a donut. They also have very unique flavors which I personally love. The donuts are definitely filling, I had to wait awhile after eating one to try another. But all in all, this is a great place to get great donuts!! 10/10 recommend to anyone, you will not be disappointed!

R R.

Yelp
Good coffee and delicious bagels. Cute ambiance-downstairs basement made comfy vibe. Owner is very aware of celiac needs and gluten cross contamination. Did not try GF doughnuts but they looked yummy!
google avatar

Mali C.

Yelp
Fun donuts great savories The chef is classically trained and loves to experiment with flavors. Typically they have one or two wild flavored donuts like pizza, fermented cornbread, miso maple they stock the rest of the shelves with more mainstream flavors like dark chocolate orange or classic glazed. What I love the most here are the savory dishes. The grilled cheese with pork belly was ridiculously delicious. Their breakfast bowl is a classic can't go wrong breakfast dish, of course I added bacon which was perfectly done. They have a dark basement hole in the wall apeal. If I worked near here I would make it a regular haunt and my midsection would definitely notice. Check it out I haven't met a donut I didn't love there and the rest of the menu has a broad appeal to tastes.

Yelp
Stopped by on a walking tour - so glad it was a stop! Had the berry doughnut- it was fluffy, not too sweet and no oily aftertaste. It was the best doughnut I've had this year! Definitely stop by to get your doughnut fix!

Yelp
Doughp Doughnuts has suddenly became my go-to doughnut shop in Asheville (and there are MANY to choose from). The Underground Cafe and Doughp Doughnuts is located in the basement of the Jackson building in downtown Asheville. It is a very small space with enough seating for like 12-15 people total. The decor is super casual and fun with colorful tables and art on the walls. My review of this place is based solely on their donuts but let me tell you that I consider myself a donut aficionado as I love donuts more than....well almost anything. For the past many years, I have gone to Vortex whenever the craving hit but now that I've been to Doughp 4+ times, this is my jam. Their donuts are the perfect texture, fluffy, yet they have a denseness to them that makes them seem substantial. The flavor combinations are super creative such as the beet icing, Simpson donut, pork belly glazed, and raspberry chipotle. Each donut I've tried (no matter how weird it sounded) has been finger-lickin' good (literally). They do have a full cafe menu as well with things like burgers and wraps, and breakfast foods but I'll save that for another time. My husband has tried the crazy creation of theirs-a cheese burger with egg and bacon on a donut and the eyes were rolled in the back of his head with every bite he took....so yeah, that makes me think that it was amazing. This is the place not to miss!

David D.

Yelp
we came in around noon on Friday and I had the carrot cake donut. unfortunately they're espresso and coffee machines are down except for the drip, but it was a good cup of drip coffee My wife had the chocolate cinnamon gluten vegan donut. it was good as well.

Yelp
We visited Stay Glazed after finding various donut recommendations via Yelp. The initial visit was fine, the shop is quaint and has a unique theme & environment. The person ringing us up was very friendly, however, after ordering 6 donuts in total (pumpkin spice, OG glazed, and the Simpson's), we were shocked to find a beard hair on one of our donuts. This was incredibly off putting, as I know the store is known for its unique flavors, I wasn't expecting glazed beard hair to be one of them. The flavors sounded intriguing at first, but the taste was less than desirable. If you're looking for a good donut, I'd recommend a cold Kristie Kreme donut over this. I understand things happen, but when serving food to others, one would expect proper health measures such as hair nets, beard nets, etc.
google avatar

Ashlee M.

Yelp
I consider myself a bit of a donut connoisseur, and this place is by far one of the best donut shops EVER. Interesting and unique flavors that rotate often. So fresh. Not too sweet, not overpowering, just right. Blissful. The only thing you'll regret is not arriving early enough, because they tend to sell out quickly in the late morning -- they're that good and that fresh. Set your alarm to wake up early, and plan to arrive asap the next morning so you can choose from the full spectrum of donuty goodness.
google avatar

Jim C.

Yelp
Craziest donuts of my life! My favorite of the three was the Sweet Potato... it had charred marshmallow on top and very savory filling with warm spices... so unique, and I swear it weighs more than a pound. The Band Camp was a little hard and too crunchy, but we were there just before closing, so maybe it's better in the morning. The Miso Maple was also good, but wasn't too strong with the miso flavor. Overall some very unique donuts and they are huge!
google avatar

Amber C.

Yelp
Holy $H!T the gluten free mochi donut I had from here was INCREDIBLE. Talked to the owner who said he took a while to perfect it, they even fry them in a separate fryer from the regular donuts. FYI, you have to walk down a little flight of stairs to get into the place. There are tables to eat at.
google avatar

Bob V.

Yelp
Props to this new donut purveyor on their cozy and convenient downtown location. And props on their innovative selection of toppings. I tried the Meyer lemonade and the beet-ricotta flavors. The lemonade donut was nice, although it could have used a bit more tangy flavor. The beet-ricotta offering was lovely - the sweetness and earthy richness came through nicely, without being too "beety," and were accented effectively by the ricotta. These babies rise really high, which is fun. Pro tip: after admiring the regal, statuesque form of your donut, cut off and discard or repurpose the bottom half. This will save calories and improve the donut-topping ratio.

Yelp
#900! #900 finds me at The Underground Cafe with DoughP Donuts! If you don't do gps directions you won't just stumble upon it. It's NY-ish in that you go down a flight of stairs from street level to a underground hole in the wall! Tiny inside, but enough seating for maybe 10-12 customers. Now there is nothing fancy at all about this place as it's a small ordering counter a small display case with the six varieties for the day. Sourdough bread is pretty common in Asheville, so ordering an Egg Sandwich on Sourdough is a must! The original glazed donut is really good, but perhaps my favorite was the Cafe Latte! The donuts were light and flaky in texture so I'm not sure if they do a cake version or not? #900 in the books and off to find #901!

Yelp
Expected a great place with a 4.5 rating. Poor ventilation, very smoky from cooking. The normal limited menu was not fully offered, only had one bottle of water available, offered to sell me a glass of tap water, toasted bagel was not very toasted and only had a pinch of cream cheese. I rely on accurate Yelp ratings and this one is not. Ended up eating breakfast elsewhere.

Eric W.

Yelp
These guys know donuts! We tried the Vanilla Curry Caramel donut but literally everything they had looked amazing! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. If you like donuts, you need to make this a must stop when in Asheville!
google avatar

Waliya L.

Yelp
This is the ultimate breakfast/brunch place for me: build-your-own breakfast sandwiches, unsweet tea with stevia on the side, coffee and donuts! I could not ask for more. Everything I got was so very tasty - egg and cheese on sourdough with a side of sriracha, iced tea and two donuts. The first day I went, they had a brand new flavor: pomegranate curry chocolate. It sounded amazing, but I was a little leery of the curry, so I got a cookie butter donut as a back up. The pomegranate curry chocolate was SO GOOD that I went back the next day to get another. In fact, I wish I could have one right now! The cookie batter one was great too. I will be back here again, every day, the next time I visit Asheville. Stroller Status: As the name makes clear, this cafe is underground - you have to take some steep steps to get down there. It's nearly impossible to take a stroller down there. My husband and I took turns going down to get our food while the other stayed upstairs and outside with the girls in their stroller.
google avatar

Ro J.

Yelp
Donuts are huge. The glazed donuts, obviously, are great. If you want a little sweet break with your coffee, I'd recommend their donuts
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
There isn't a boring donut in this box. The Fruitcake Fritter had all the very best flavors from a fruitcake in a pastry you'll actually want to eat! However, the Chai Cookie Butter (biscoff butter) was a real standout! Come prepared to try something new and unusual and you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Derek E.

Yelp
My photo is of an empty donut basket. I didn't have time to take a photo of the actual donuts* because I was too busy stuffing my face with the large, fluffy, delectable doughnies! Go there now! Also, coffee is on point. * - I just gave them the money, and they gave me the donut, end of transaction. We didn't need to bring ink and paper into this.
google avatar

Victoriya H.

Yelp
Probably best donuts I tried. Fluffy & delicious. Creative flavors. Of course, so sinful as well:) It's a little warm inside the cafe and unassuming, simple setting. But if you love donuts ( or if you like me just can't pass on such creative offerings) go grab yourself some donut!
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
I made a return visit to this great cafe. This visit I decided on cookies and cream which had oreo crumbs on it. It is always hard to decide what to order here. But service is always great and friendly and the cafe is small and cozy.

Yelp
Small, hidden, whole in the wall, underground... This place was amazing!!! In the heart of Ashville, this place makes a name for itself not only with it's sandwich's but with it's phenomenal donuts!!!! The owner was there and explained the flavors or the donut along with the girl that was working there and I was instantly hooked. You can see right in to the kitchen and they promote having the best "Simpsons Donut" out there. Miami is known for having the best donuts spots, in my opinion of course, but this place might have just put them to shame, even if they didn't have a donut that had a maple glaze or bacon on it. They went more organic and combined flavors like lemongrass and blueberry and the frosting was so fresh. They won't even waste anything, creating an opps donut because the frosting was to thin when it came out, so they drenched it in chocolate and needless to say that it was amazing as well!!! Of course, we also had the Simpsons donut and it's definitely the best one I've had, even beats the one sold at Universal Orlando that is sold in Simpsons land!!! Everything I tasted at this place was delicious, so delicious that we came back for a second time! I really wish I could remember the name of the sandwich I had cause it was truly epic with bacon and pork belly. It felt like a small hang out spot at your university where people came to hang out. It felt so comfortable and everyone made conversation with you. If you happen to be in Ashville and don't drop by this spot. You are doing yourself an justice. I wish I could describe this spot some more but it's something more that you need to go experience.
google avatar

Timothy R.

Yelp
Very cute little spot that is worth visiting. The donuts were delicious. Favorites were the OG and the Butterfinger one. The Miso Maple was our least favorite, still good though!
google avatar

Shiloh P.

Yelp
The best donuts I've ever had honestly. I got the salted Caramel donut and the Simpson donut. The coffee was really good too, got an iced vanilla latte it was perfect! The donuts were so fresh and soft. Small little place with great service.
google avatar

Stephen H.

Yelp
I was happy to try this place. I thought the donuts overall were good. The Apple fritter was amazing... by far the best of the donuts. The other two donuts were good. I will give this place another try when I am back in Asheville.

Yelp
The Underground Cafe is a fun cafe in downtown Asheville, that's also home to DoughP Doughnuts. I'd been stalking them on IG for a while, but was worried I wouldn't be able to find parking - resulting in a slight mental breakdown where I end up wandering the streets of Asheville for a few days until I eventually find it. Turns out there is a nice little public parking lot down the street off Market (across from the fire department) which is super close to the cafe, and pretty inexpensive. It's literally underground! (Surprise surprise!), and they have sweet sweet donuts. It smells like doughnuts cooking as you walk up, which is incredibly magical. Not only do they have sweet sweet donuts, they've got sweet posters lining the walls inside that are total 80's/90's pop culture. Also- not only did I love the ambiance, I felt right at home because the people working there were very friendly. I ordered a Simpsons donut- which is one of their "classics" (meaning they keep them in stock on a pretty regular basis). It had pink frosting, and sprinkles. I was going to sit at the Simpsons table to eat my Simpsons Donut- but there were people sitting at a table nearby and I didn't want to disturb them with my ghastly, loud chewing. Instead, I ended up sitting at a table that had a view of the Tv that had Sabrina The Teenage Witch playing (score!) On the other Tv by the coffee station they had Bob Ross playing (charming!!) If you're not in the mood to watch tv, they've also got fun board games to play like "Yahtzee" and "Battleship". I prefer not to play board games after my brother *falsely* accused me of cheating in monopoly twenty three ago and threw the board at my head. My life has never been the same after I suffered a severe concussion, got lost in the woods for three months and was forced to forage on wild berries. The underground cafe is a great place to get a quick cup of coffee and donut, or get a full meal - and hang out and watch a movie if your roomie just so happens to get out of work early every day to claim the Tv and watch movies like "my sisters cousins brothers nieces kidnapped my grandma" on lifetime until the wee hours of the night. On that note, they've got adorbs little Togo boxes if you aren't innately terrified of your roommate, and would rather finish your donut at home. Tip: Check your face before you leave - as you may have clumps of frosting on it like I did.

Yelp
Donuts were Amazing had a lavender latte with a gingerbread donut and it was amazing with the cold weather. The person tending to me was a lady was super nice and helpful on which ones were her favorite. Would highly recommend if you are trying to warm up or need to grab a little snack!
