Great place to chill and play pool or darts or drink with interesting people. Unfortunately I was very late to show up and missed the shows and most of the crowd, but the folks there were so friendly and I had a blast even though it was last call. Drinks were reasonably priced and tasted great. Definitely looking forward to going back. 🤗

Me and my boyfriend went here while we were visiting New York we ordered 1 shot soon as we got our shot there was a roach crawling across the bar. It made both of us sick to our stomach so we decided to leave. I wouldn’t recommend this bar especially if you’re ordering food.

I've been going to The Underground for a long time. Even before an old friend bought the place. The bartenders are friendly, they never skimp on the booze, and the prices are quite good. They host fun drag shows featuring stunning men and women. It's great.

Got a Ginger Beer, sat down. Alot on my mind. The bartender with the white Adidas hat and rainbow armband gives me a funny look when I order a Ginger Beer. "It's 6 dollars" he says. "That's fine." I respond. I extend my card. "There's a ten dollar minimum." He says. "That's fine." I respond. Several minutes pass and he brings me a shot cup which I did not ask for. "What's this for?" I said. "It's a ten dollar minimum." "That's fine, just charge me 10 for the ginger beer." He brings me another ginger beer which I did not ask for. "I don't need another one just charge me $10 for the one." I said "Minimum is actually $12." As I prepare give the man grief, the lady next to me engages me in conversation. While we're chatting he comes back and gives her her bills and she signs. She's still chatting with me and after five minutes or so I'm still waiting for my bill. Next time he passes by, I ask him for my bill. He looks around befuddled and realizes he gave my bill to the lady next to me and she signed my bill (with a tip) and he gave her my card. Mistakes happen. I was willing to let it go. Until he said. "Well, she signed it, you were charged $16. Want a copy of the receipt?" It was the callous corporate tendency to not take responsibility for one's actions while expecting customers to take full responsibility for even the smallest slight. I got loud and told him he needed to void it and print a new one for me to sign. He got loud with me and threatened to ban me from the establishment. I told him no problem as I intended never to return. He paid me $6 in cash which ended up going to the lady's bill (by my own choice) as she was nice and her card declined. I left lower than I'd entered and $16 poorer. Next time, I'll just go to Fugazi.

I can't express enough how much I adore the Underground! From the vibrant atmosphere to the friendly staff and amazing entertainment, every visit here is a fantastic experience. The energy is electric, the music is on point, and the inclusive and welcoming environment makes me feel right at home. The diverse crowd and the acceptance of everyone, regardless of who they are, create an atmosphere of love and unity. The bartenders are not only skilled but also incredibly personable, making sure you always have your favorite drink in hand. It's more than just a place to dance; it's a sanctuary where people can be their authentic selves without judgment.

the owner is hot headed and illiterate. the staff needs an attitude check and maybe a tolerance break. an old man came up disrespectfully and physically pushed my friend off a chair, if they would assess the situation before creating a narrative that didn’t happen, 10+ people would’ve enjoyed their night there. now 10+ people will never be returning. from other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. no one pushed the elderly man, he pushed us. he told the bartender and we were greeted with more aggression. 3 min later when it was over with we were told to leave. people we didn’t even know left with us because they witnessed the hostility and unfairness. many people can attest that an elderly man was not pushed, and was the aggressor. if the owner and staff took the time to understand instead of stooping to that level as well, this could’ve been avoided. if the man was respectful and asked for his seat back, our friend would’ve 100% gotten up. treat people how you want you want to be treated. owner and staff escalated situation and seem to do that often. when posted on social media we were flooded with replies of how people feel unsafe there due to the immaturity and escalation from the staff. we would never push a elderly man, they have one side to a story that was fabricated. my friends were wrongfully kicked out and the responses to reviews shows their immature behavior being twice our age. we even tried deescalating, but it happened too fast and the owner was on a power trip. this was a place we loved to go but this incident that happened and escalated in the matter of 5 min shows we are not safe to go there. that’s not how you handle situations as an owner or staff. the guilt tripping in the replies to feel better about yourself is not what happened at all. how would you feel if you unknowingly sat in someone’s seat and they greet you with aggression and physical altercation? this could’ve been avoided if he acted his age and favoritism wasn’t at play.
