"“Omakase” is a Japanese term that effectively means leaving the menu to the complete discretion of the chef, who will normally source the best ingredients from the market that day. This philosophy is the key tenet in this restaurant located in the residential district of Palermo, now in the hands of chef Damián Shiizu, whose cuisine came as a very pleasant surprise to us. Once you’ve rung the bell at the entrance to confirm your booking, you need to wait until every guest has arrived before entering together and taking seats at the bar counter. The surprise menu here might include dishes such as marinated edemame cooked with soy, superb nigiri (sole, matured pejerrey fish, amberjack, torched squid etc), sashimi, temaki, and a delicious dashi soup. Small cups of sake are served throughout the meal to provide the perfect pairing." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best omakase style restaurant I went to this day. I went now for 5,6 times, and every time I go, it’s a new experience, not only with the amazing food, but with the service. They not only prepare amazing steps (it’s a 12 steps menu) for you to enjoy, as they give you a lot of history information about the food and Japan. It’s really special, because is not easy to find a place in Buenos Aires with a perfect service, a lot of attendants usually has some missteps and small misbehaviors, one of the reasons I never, until now, have given a 5 stars for service. I do understand service are people, and people doesn’t have a good day every day, and I pass through some things understanding the demeanor of the person who is attending me to give an evaluation of the attendance, and after this I will give my review. But in Uni Omakase me, my husband and friends were always very well received, and very well served. I will say, some of the times we went, we met some weird people waiting to enter the restaurant that were mistreating the meitre, and I would never have the politeness she had with every one of them. It’s a difficult job, and she does graciously. Besides that, I love the concept they have with some portions you will have a sake to drink with that specific food, and it goes perfectly. Really, if you live in Buenos Aires or is a tourist, I would heavily recommend to have this experience.

The chef was highly professional, befitting a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the staff were fluent in English. The small sake pairing not only enhanced the flavors but also helped with digestion at the end. From the appetizers to the dessert, it was an enjoyable experience. The sushi, made from local dry-aged fish, offered a unique flavor that redefined my expectations of sushi—a distinctive experience likely only found in Buenos Aires.

We tried this omakase yesterday, and it was over 10 steps of extraordinary dishes. The selection of assorted fishes was excellent. Each step is quite elaborated. Service was superlative, and prices are high.

We enjoyed the experience very much. It was the first omakase for my boyfriend and he loved it. However, even if it was nice, for me it was a little underwhelming. I would’ve liked a bit more creativity, to make some steps truly remarkable. I was impressed by how good and simple the ice cream was, however, I would have also liked another dessert. In general, I felt the quantity was a bit scarce for a man. Nevertheless, I think they were lacking some ingredients, because they charged us 100,000 ARS per person instead of 130.000 ARS which they were supposed to charge us

Can’t recommend this enough! We’ve been to numerous omakases in both Japan and the U.S., we were definitely impressed by this one. A little less variety than a Japanese omakase, but masterfully done and worth the experience. A great way to break up many steak-heavy meals in Argentina!

Woaw! Words can't explain how much of an amazing experience this Japanese tasting menu is. Everything from service to execution was well thought out and made for a really enjoyable evening. We paired it with a wine tasting and shared one wine tasting between two, which felt like enough when they also provide you with a sake tasting throughout the menu. I would really recommend this for anyone in BA looking for a treat night out.
