Uni Uni Boba

A cute spot for boba in the heart of Argyle! All the workers here were very friendly, and there’s lots of seating, so it’s a good place to come and relax with friends. There are a plethora of drinks and different boba and pearls to choose from to upgrade your drink. I got the yulu oolong milk tea and couldn’t resist ordering their massive bucket size. Even with half sugar, it was still pretty sweet, but the tea flavor was present as well. We went in the evening, and they were out of the traditional tapioca, so I went with the passion fruit popping boba, which was so fun to eat. The bucket was ginormous, and while I probably wouldn’t get it again, it was at least two servings and worth trying once for the fun of it. When you have a boba craving, Uni Uni always delivers!

I ordered a peach yogurt with crystal boba with strawberry bursting boba, and it was DIVINE!!! My friend ordered a strawberry yogurt crystal boba lychee jelly and mango bursting boba and they said it was like they tasted a slice of heaven. (The employee also played KPOP DEMON HUNTERS >:0 and it was such a vibe!!

Okay, I'm mad at myself for not finding this place sooner. I've always noticed the nice clean quaint storefront so I decided to give it a try as I felt like Boba. Wow I am very very impressed. I got the red bean smoothie with the lychee boba and at $7 for a large, it quite a good deal. Good sized drink but most importantly, it's delicious. Like I will go out of my way for it good stop by at least once a week good. Taste fresh instead of mixed powdered, though it might be, but I couldn't tell. I also got potato corn dog. Which pretty much is closer to a mozzarella stick but....favorable trusting and good gooey chese inside. Another item that I was suprised how good it was. The decor is pretty modern, clean in the front area and spacious. Can comment on the bathrooms as many of shared tho. Parking is street and can be a bit if a hassle but you can always find a spot. It's about 10 feet from the Argyle red line stop. So it's very accessible. Service and staff our excellant. Their quick, which is excellent in it's own right, despite this place being quite busy. Yet the stuff was very accommodating heck unduly nice if you need them for anything. Seem to recognize regular customers and they seem to do a brisk business. The workers work very hard as they are quite busy. Apparently this is the 3rd location with the main one in Chinatown and another in wicker park. They do have a buy 9 drinks get 10 free perk card so not bad for a loyalty program. This place deserves a visit. I highly recommend it. Maybe the tastiest Boba drinks in my area

My favorite bubble tea spot in Chicago! A ton of delicious drink options- I love the oreo cheese foam milk tea w/agar jelly. Wonderful and energetic staff. Can't wait to try all their new food and desserts when they drop 😆

I always make it a point to get food and boba here or delivery when I need a special treat. Hands down, my favorite boba place.

I tried the ancient brown sugar milk and enjoyed the flavor! The boba was perfectly cooked—soft and chewy just how I like it. However, I wasn’t happy with the quantity of the tapioca pearls in the drink, it was lesser than expected and the drinks could surely use some more ice (I asked for regular ice), but overall it was a good experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying more flavors!

Tried the Nutella waffle and peach yogurt drink—both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and refreshing. Huge thanks to the owner for the lovely gift—such a sweet gesture! Definitely coming back again.

The beverages were quite good but that was all that was good about this boba place located near the Argyle Red line station. What they advertised as being a hybrid between waffle and croissant, hence croffle, was so salty that it was not eatable. In addition, the bathrooms were less than desirable in their condition and dimensions. Lastly, nearly $40 for 3 drinks and pastry is a bit much. Compared to other boba joints nearby, this one is below average.

My experience here is always immaculate! From the tea, foods and the people that handle my orders, fabulous!! Chef kiss! Their drinks are always on point and it is so beautiful too. When you are in argyle, stop by here for some amazing drinks!!!

Got some bubble tea from this place on Argyle. It looks like one of those cartoonish bubble tea shops, and it is. Uni Uni has a few locations, including this one in Uptown. Has many teas to choose from. There's milk teas, as well as some non dairy milks to use as a substitute. A good place for an Asian business. It's among the many of these along this street. The inside isn't that big but has more than enough tables. A lot here to get. It's about $6 for a latte. Last time I got the Soy Milk Black Tea Latte. It was pretty good without being overly sugary and helped me to get cool. The rest of the menu features teas with the cheese foam that's on top. Has a lot for those who like bubble tea and other coffee. It's closed Tuesdays. There's milk teas as well as some that are okay for vegans.

TERRIBLE! Waited over 25 min for ONE DRINK! Slow Sunday with about 6 customers and only ONE male worker making all the drinks while the other female worker is wondering around doing nothing!

Odd first impression. First off i walked in to the overwhelming odor of fish - not in a good way - and obv that was such a displeasant experience. Second, the menu seemed different than what I usually expect from a boba/bubble tea place. I usually order strawberry or honeydew milk tea. The menu at the kiosk didn't have these options. I ended up ordering a "special" strawberry milk tea with milk mochi. I'm not sure what milk mochi is tbh. Also for $8, the cup is really small. I get bubble tea from time to time and it's almost always in a 20 oz+ cup. THAT SAID, the girl working put a lot of effort into making this drink, even muddling fresh strawberries. The drink itself isn't quite what I usually get and love. It's okay but not what I was expecting.

Post completion of my run nearby, I discovered Uni Uni Bubble Tea Uptown - Chicago after a quick search of restaurants with 'Smoothies' via yelp. Uni Uni Uptown just happened to be ranked number eight within a radius of the area I was in, and not too far off from my route which made it very acceptable to choose. I ordered their large strawberry smoothie with cloud cream online via yelp after briskly scrolling through the menu. Ordering online via the yelp application was very convenient because by the time I arrived to pick up my drink, it was ready behind the counter upon my arrival. Uni Uni Uptown itself sits within what is referred to as Chicago's second Chinatown, West Argyle Street Historic District amongst a plethora of businesses and restaurants. During this visit, I was fortunate enough to find a parking spot as I entered the area which was pay by the plate. If you are not fortunate as I was, keep in mind that there is neighborhood parking, as well as parking off some of the side streets of W Argyle St. I just could not resist taking a sip of my strawberry smoothie after getting inside of my vehicle. Mmm, it was so good! Eeek! Brain freeze! Ya'll! And on top of being charmed out of my panties after my first sip, these taste buds of mine were surged with that cold delicious strawberry smoothie flavor that I love and desired. Since I am now familiar with Uni Uni Bubble Tea Uptown - Chicago, I would gladly order from again, which would more than likely be in the same fashion post completion of a run nearby. And besides, it allows me to once again visit the West Argyle Street Historic District. Recommendations: Uni winter special hot drinks (brown sugar ginger rose black tea); Signature smoothies (banana smoothie, strawberry smoothie, mango smoothie); Flavored yogurt with crystal boba (strawberry yogurt, peach yogurt); Flavored yakult (peach watermelon jasmine green tea, passion fruit jasmine green tea, lemon pineapple, kiwi); Fresh fruit tea (grapefruit jasmine green tea, uni fruit combo jasmine green tea, navel orange jasmine green tea, pineapple jasmine green tea with passion fruit, strawberry orange jasmine green tea). ~ Yabba dabba doo! ~ Thomas G

Got the basic assam tea to try and it is very average. It's too creamy so the flavor of the tea is masked. I came for the tea not the cream.

Dropped by for a quick boba date and tried their Yakult peach drink! So yummy!! Nice and sweet and refreshing. Perfect for the summer. This location is not as interactive as the Uni Uni in Chinatown but I'm lucky I'm a few blocks away since it's super quick and convenient.

I've eyeballed this spot for a while and decided to check it out. I ordered some snacks and drinks for my 16 year old son which consisted of: takoyaki, popcorn chicken and two lemon jasmine green teas. I absolutely love self ordering kiosks at any establishment and kudos to this place for having two of them. The snacks were delicious and so were the teas. The inside is so spacious and beautifully decorated with wall art that's definitely eye catching and extremely dope. I'd highly recommend this place if you want some cute snacks and refreshments.

I got the yulu oolong milk tea and my partner got the uni signature milk tea with boba. We both asked for 30% sweetness and while my drink was tasty, his tasted like there was zero sugar and overall tasted pretty bland (he ended up not even finishing the drink). Service was good.

Our drinks came out pretty fast and I ordered the milk mochi on a whim and i am obsessed with it! So unexpectedly good! The drinks themselves are very good as well. The interior is decorated so colorfully and its very cutesy and aesthetic. The workers making the drinks were fast and nice. I will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this bubble tea. Korean corndog place. I always come and get the hot Cheetos corndog with half cheese have hotdog and it never disappoints. I've been switching up the bubble tea and have not been disappointed in them at all. This is definitely my favorite bubble tea/ corn dog place in the wicker area! the place is super cute and they are good amount of tables to sit at. When you order you do it off of the kiosk so you don't really chat with any of the workers. Overall I love this place.

Absolutely LOVE Uni Uni!! The drinks are so flavorful and fresh. I got their Yakult passion fruit green tea, which I've gotten several times before and it never disappoints! Quick service and easy ordering. The shop is also so cute and has fun decorations and wall painting for cute pictures!!

Ini ini is a boboa tea place in China PL Chicago IL. The tea place was cute yet simple. This place of origin was founded right in the heart of Chicago with a selection of actual fruit yet blended with different mixtures such as honey, foam cheese. Boba and much more. There are many selections on the drink menu. I requested to get the yogurt strawberry crystal boboa which has honey filled boba. It was very delicious and they put actual real strawberries inside. I don't recommend anyone lactose tolerant tho to try the yogurt drinks because it is heavy on dairy but they have other options such as fresh blended juices as well. Not only do they have drinks but they have a light menu as well where you can order chicken popcorn, homemade Taiwanese sausage, takoyaki, chicken nuggets and crispy fried squid. This place is definitely worth a try!

Ordered online for 4 drinks. Ordering online was relatively easy. I liked how drink selections were broken down based on different categories. I've tried Uni Uni from Chinatown so I was excited to its opening in Uptown. I've only had milk tea but wanted to venture out today. I ordered 4 drinks online. When I arrived, only 2 drinks were ready for pick up, and they thought it was my complete order, until I showed my online order receipt. I had to wait while they make my 2 new drinks. I understand they've only been open for a little while. We ordered 2 Mango Jasmin green tea with cheese foam. These were also the 2 drinks that wasn't made when I have arrived. We didn't like it at all. What I did like, was the mango yogurt with crystal boba. It's on the expensive side- whopping $6.55 for a large, but it was quite fulfilling and I liked the taste. Strawberry smoothie with cloud cream was ok. I did have to call prior to ordering to ask about allergen info and he was pretty direct. For awhile, my phone call didn't go through so I am guessing store was busy, which is a good sign! I'll be back, and hopefully to earn 1 more star from me!

I ordered the regular signature milk tea, light ice, little sugar, with bubbles. It was good, but it was not worth $6.33 at all. When you order at the machine, there is a credit card fee and it just makes your drink so much more expensive. Pay cash if you can! Maybe cause they're new, but the workers didn't acknowledge me when I entered, they didnt ask me if I needed any help, and they didn't update me on my drink status. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting for my drink and watched them occasionally glance at me while making mobile order drinks. It was not until I asked them how much longer I'd have to wait did they tell me it would be another 5 minutes for the bubbles to cook. I was the only customer in the store too. My drink was good! The flavor of the tea and milk blended well, and the bubbles were perfectly chewy. It's just that I would not pay almost $6.50 for that size and for a plain milk tea. I would probably go back occasionally to try the more unique drinks, but I think I'd choose Kung Fu tea around the corner because it just seems more worth it for the type of milk teas I go for.

I would actually give a 3.5. I prefer fruit smoothie boba, not teas, but have been wanting to try this for a while. Nice size place, fun. Easy to order, LOTS of options. Parking can be tough, but street parking is what to expect. If I'm in the neighborhood I would go back.

I have to give this place 3 stars because the service is consistently and painfully slow. Fortunately, there are always customers in side, but even if there are 2 people ahead of you, you could be waiting for over 15 minutes for your bubble tea. In an area where there are 3 additional bubble tea places within 3 minutes of walking, Uni Uni is going to need to step it up or lose out to the competition that has been here far longer. This location is a rotating storefront that has changed over multiple times in the past several years, with trendy quick cuisine coming and going. I do love the iced bubble green tea with pineapple and passion fruit but even that is inconsistent sometimes too (sometimes no passion fruit seeds evident).

Strawberry Orange Jasmine Green Tea w/ crystal boba $6.50 50% sugar, 50% ice. Surprisingly good flavor. Brown sugar bubble fresh milk $5.50. soft boba. Good flavor.

I got a peach mojito, a great drink. I'm not sure if the ac was broken but so hot. I was planning to sit and relax, but the heat was uncomfortable. They have a self ordering station, and it's a good idea, but some people didn't seem to know how to use it. It was a drawn-out process. The wait was short, so my drink was ready in a few minutes.

We stopped by this place while walking around after dinner and I must say the brown sugar was milk tea was a little too milky and lacking the tea & brown sugar flavor. I've had my share of milk teas and this one just wasn't one of my faves due to the milkiness. Would maybe come back and try maybe a refresher or one of the fruit teas instead but there are so many different boba places in the area. I also wasn't a fan of the customer service so all in all not a great experience!

My partner and I came here on Wednesday for a quick bite to eat and a drink before we walked over to the Aragon Ballroom. We ordered ahead on their Google listing through Chowbus. When we walked in, the staff didn't greet us, and we were like pick up for Shirley please. He looked up and went to look at the orders, didn't say a word and went back to doing his thing. Shortly later, another guy comes out from the kitchen with boxes of popcorn chicken, and they communicated amongst each other, and we assumed it was our's since we ordered 2 boxes of it (an order each per person), and 2 drinks. There was no one else in line at the time besides us, and we spent almost $30 for them to not appreciate the business, and then the popcorn chicken had obvious pieces that were of bad quality -- it tasted plasticky. The spicy seasoning is definitely on point but not really evenly distributed. I've had better popcorn chicken where it was crispy throughout and all great cuts and quality of chicken and the spices are evenly distributed. The drinks were good, and everything was accurate and efficient. If you want them to greet you or have basic customer service, this ain't it. If you're here for the drinks, this is it. If you don't mind the quality of the chicken going down here and there, this is also it. It's not bad, but come see for yourself maybe it's my luck of the draw. I prefer the Chinatown location way more, and not sure if it's the same owner or not.

Taste wise I thought it was fine! Nice and refreshing - wasn't too sweet at 50% sugar. A little bit too pricey ($7~) for my boba standards. The service could be a little better as well, they didn't call out our order for some reason and we asked if it was ready and they said it wasn't. But then they "found" it and gave it to us.

They have some great drinks here. Although, they do put quite too much ice. It's a good place to do some work except for the fact that they don't have wi-fi.

This is THE spot to be! I was totally psyched when I found out about this second location! I LOVED the Chinatown location but I don't be in the area as much as I am on Argyle. I ADORED their strawberry yogurt with crystal boba at the Chinatown location so I had to get it again! Just like last time, it was ahhhhhmazing!! I look forward to trying their other drinks, their hot pot AND seafood boil!!

Checked this place out since I was on my way to do groceries in argyle. They took over the old Bingo Tea location (cries). However this place is worth checking out! Due to covid, there's only takeout. I asked the workers what'd they recommend since it was my first time. The workers are limited in English but were still helpful. So far I've tried the ancient brown sugar milk tea with boba and pudding. I think the flavor is pretty solid. More milky than tea flavor though. I don't know about the other flavors, but the menu seems pretty unique and interesting. The tapioca seemed pretty chewy but it was hard to drink out of the boba straw lol. My only remark is it is pretty pricey. I did order a medium drink too. Definitely check it out for yourself! Support a local (boba) business too.

Uni Uni... I really expected better and I am going to start this review by stating that it must've been an off night or just one of them days (as R&B artist Monica once said). Imagine this... it's a Saturday early evening and the place has about 12 folks sitting, already served and two servers on their phones chilling. They immediately put it away when we walked in and greeted my friend and I. We ordered quickly with no additions or special orders. When I tellllllll you it was as if my friend and I asked for the complicated order, it took over 10 minutes for them to make the drinks. Now for those of you who state that's not a long time..... bye. I've been to both Uni Uni establishments multiple times prior when the lines were out the door and I orders and my drink was made and ready within 5 minutes and that's being generous. We asked for their signature Uni Uni milk tea drink. Either way it go it was off for me. I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this thought when the women after me made eye contact as to say wtf is taking so long? Another reason they get 3 stars and that's being nice is because I was originally told that Uni Uni does not do non dairy milk tea beverages. I inquired once more before ordering because I go to so many bubble tea places that I didn't want to confuse it with another establishment. The guy literally pointed to an entire section of the menu and said these are non dairy. I was like bet. Say less. I asked what Assam was and if it was black tea. Homie said nah. I'm like uhhh ok. So what is it? He said it was hard to translate. (*giving maaaaad squint eye here*). Mmmh. Ok gimme the drink I guess this is my fault but child between the milk and black tea, my IBS was more TRIGGERED than a Jhene Aiko album. Needless to say, If you're like me, just stick to the fruit juice drinks at Uni Uni. Would I return? Tbh I'm not sure.

I really wanted to love this place (my friend really likes the Chinatown location), but I didn't have the best experience here. My friend and I came in on a Saturday night around 8:45pm after dinner in the area. A group of people had just left, and we were the only people in the shop. I was reading the menu and looking for a caffeine free option, since it was already late and I didn't want to be up all night. After a just few minutes of looking at the menu, the staff started pressuring us to order because they were about to close. I asked them to recommend me a caffeine free drink, and they recommended a jasmine tea. I trusted them and went with it and asked for boba in my tea as well...or so I thought. To my disappointment, my drink came out without any boba :( I didn't bother asking about it since I could tell they were hurrying to close up ASAP. To make things worse, turns out the drink they recommended DID have caffeine...I was up late that night :( On the bright side though, the tea was delicious and the place and products are all super cute. I loved the boba straw decor they had for the holidays! I might give this Uni Uni location another chance and come back earlier in the day. I think the 5-star potential is there, and I hope my experience was an outlier.

Went for the grand opening in Uptown & the BOGO deal was well worth it. I got the soy milk tea with soy milk foam & milk pudding with boba. It was the subtle sweet I love when I get black milk tea. The other drink was Strawberry Yogurt with crystal boba & it reminded me of a dinner milk shake which left me feeling nostalgic but with a twist.

That was my first time going there. - I ordered a hot boba tea in a cashier. - I wanted to add a boba there but cashier asked only about some bubbles and didn't even asked what boba I want, so I guess I'd get a tapioca. - They made a cold tea, and when I said I ordered it hot, they didn't served it well either. And didn't put tapioca even tho they charged me already. - I was the only customer they had that time

We really liked our drinks. Their boba is REALLY coated in honey and syrup. The drinks were great too. I ordered in person and didn't notice the machine until later. The menu on the screen doesn't exactly face you when you're ordering so I just used the little menus they have in front of the cash register. They have plenty of seats there but no wifi.

Summary: Extremely rude, never going back! Learn to talk to your potential customers. The person working there literally YELLED at us, "we are closed" before we even stepped inside the establishment. This was 45 minutes before the posted close time. TLDR: Around 8:45 my friends and I were interested in getting a drink for the road back home. We've been interested in trying Uni Uni. Before walking in, we checked to see if there was a crowd of people and verified that they were still open by looking at the hours of operation, on Friday (today) they are suppose to close at 9:30pm, per their hours of operation sticker on the door. We understand that some establishments will close earlier than their advertised time, but there were two large groups of people laughing and having a blast with the person working there. As soon as we opened the second door, the person working there YELLED at us with a very forceful tone, "WE ARE CLOSED!". Advice to the establishment: Train your employees to use a calm tone of voice with customers when serving them or potentially serving them. If you're closed, I suggest something along this line, "I'm sorry we are closed at this time and can not serve you, please come back tomorrow and we'll love to share an amazing experience with you!" My friends and I completely lost interest in trying Uni Uni, which is disappointing because we were all extremely excited and eager....

Hands down my favorite bubble tea spot in uptown. First of all, the art inside is CRAZY! So cute. I got the banana cloud cream smoothie with brown sugar tapioca. So creamy, and wonderful. Plus, it tasted like real banana, not the fake artifical kind. Two thumbs up, I'm lucky I live a block away. I

Love love love this place! My friends are I fell in love the the Chinatown one and were ecstatic that we got one closer to the north side! The flavors are great, we are on a journey of trying everything on the menu; so every trip we try something new. Haven't had one that disappointed! We love it here!

Oh My God. SO GOOD! First time trying this place. Very diligent and delicious! This was a recommended through the app and I read it as a sign. Cured my cravings, definitely will be going back to try something else. Did I forget to mention, fresh fruit! You can see the seeds in the drink too. Amazing. I ordered through Uber eats, it was fast and easy.

Poor customer service. We were the only customers. Ordered two rolled ice cream. After waiting for about ~10 mins. It wasn't even started. They said an additional 15 minutes wait. Asked for a refund and went to baskin robins

I cannot decide if I love the brown sugar milk tea or the taro smoothie with cloud cream, but this place has me coming back to it more than I planned to.

My new go to place for milk tea! Their tea is made with real tea leaves vs powder. We normally order the signature milk tea & fruit combo jasmine tea. Thankful that they've opened a location up north.

Super disappointing! Decided to try a new bubble tea spot in an area saturated with them. The description on Yelp sounded cool! Not only were the two men working very unfriendly, but when I asked what the Yakut tea category meant, i was told they didn't know (even though it's a main section on the menu). Check out of the other tea places around- much better customer service, menu, and ambiance.

So bad at the UNI in here , i come here and buy somthing and my kids want to go restroom, i take my kids and the lady and the man come to say No, and i told them i buy some drink and food here there still say No. i never coming back here i told all my friend toooo

Great tea! I ordered a fruit tea and the ancient brown sugar boba with a lot of fixins. The staff was very kind. The restaurant was extremely clean. The only problem I had was that I ordered through Yelp/Grubhub and the order did not come through to the restaurant. The still prepared my order very quickly and were very kind about it; I think this was 100% a grubhub problem. I saw the staff looking at the orders and it clearly was not received. 10/10 will visit again.

Tbh pretty decent drinks! I come here often. The staffs are quiet in general, but in my experience, the short girl with glasses is the most unfriendly. I recommend the drinks, but the service is probably the slowest out of all the boba shops I've been to.
