Number 85 on the Diners Drive-Ins and Dives places we've been to was UNI-DELI in Minneapolis earlier today. It was decent but left us a bit "wanting" as we'd looked at thr menu online and then nothing we wanted was on the menu at the tables. I was under the impression that one ordered at the counter and got to watch as the food was prepared....now its a sit down and they come and take your order. That's all fine and dandy as the people who waited on us were all very helpful. They didn't have any beef noodles for the dish that the Mrs wanted but substituted Ramen ones at her suggestion (the beef noodles weren't going to be ready for at least 40 minutes and as picky as she is nothing else was going to do) she also ordered a fruit bowl that was very good...I was looking forward to trying the Korean Chicken Wings and the Tantanmen...neither were on the menu so I ordered a Shrimp dish as an appetizer (its not on their online menu and I can't remember the name) and they were very good. For my entree I ordered a Shoyu dish with Pork as the protien (also not on the online menu). It was pretty good, perhaps a bit too salty but the porkbelly was delicious. I've seen the place listed as a " good, cheap-eats" place in the cities...that must've changed as well...I left a good tip for the servers (they did a nice job) and I spent 50.00 for the two of us for lunch. We wandered around the grocery area and found some interesting items to bring home...its a neat place but it s sounds like its different from what it recently was. I'm going three stars only because the servers were great people...if the recent change in ownership/management can right this ship they've got the staff in place.

Love the ramen here!! Highly recommend the Tantanman or Spicy Miso ramen. They offer takeout ramen which is awesome and they do a really excellent job at it. This place is a gem and I hope it stays around for a long time! Only wish they were open later.

I ordered the restaurant signature "Dramen". It was pretty good. The pork belly was so juicy. But the broth was wayyyyyy too salty. Even though they gave just a little bit of broth but the saltiness just burnt my mouth. I had to pour water into my broth in order for me to finish my dish (I can't really handle salty food anyway). I wish they make it less salty cause apart from the saltiness, the broth was very thick and tasty. I also ordered Takoyaki. It was OK, the octopus was too small. And I'm pretty sure Takoyaki usually come in a ball shape, but this came in like half ball shape.

I tried the Beef Noodle, the beef brisket was perfectly cooked and the noodles were good. The broth wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to. (Disappointed) I also had the pleasure of trying the Fried Spam Musubi. The musubi was perfectly fried. The sauce on the musubi was also really good. I really enjoyed this, I would go back there just for this.

Usually very busy. Ramen was good, but lacked flavor after the first few bites. Also the ramen arrived luke warm and we visited on a very quiet day. The Deli is closed on Mondays

Now that United Noodles has added a grab-and-go section, the ready to eat food options have expanded a lot. I've always really enjoyed the ramen from Unideli. The tonkatsu ramen has a delicious broth and a lot of flavorful ingredients. Today I had the spam musubi (panko ecrusted but a more basic version is available at the grab-and-go area) and takoyaki. Both really good.

Why do other online Tonkatsu ramen dishes look like they have a different assortment of garnishes. It was a long wait for my ramen to arrive. The bowl was half-filled in their bowls. The broth and meat is VERY SALTY! Grab some self-serve water, you'll need it. The ramen noodles were good. The taste isn't bad, but just way too salty and need more garnishes/condiments.

I heard good things about this place, what a disaster. We go in, and the cashier is fighting with the cook, loudly. The manager is borderline rude as well. The food is overpriced and has no flavor - we had 4 different soups and 2 appetizers. The pork buns at Trader Joe's are better. The ramen has no depth at all. To top it all off, one of the members of my party got a nasty case of food poisoning. The store (United Noodle) is an urban gem. The food, prices, and attitude. at this "restaurant" are a disaster. Really too bad, because I wanted to like it.
