"A casual Japanese concept in the Mills Market known for its onigiri, served until sold out. The menu changes frequently and includes items like Japanese curry hash brown and unagi." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Set within the Mills Market, this casual concept from Chef/owner William Shen (and named for his pup, Uni) draws a line before it's even open. It's no wonder, as everyone is here clamoring for a taste of their onigiri, on offer until they sell out. The menu is a moving target, with ever-changing availability alongside a host of daily specials like a Japanese curry hash brown (if you're lucky). Made and served in sealed bags, the classic triangles are best eaten immediately while the filling and rice are still warm. It's all spot-on, whether filled with a crispy fried chicken thigh or tuna enlivened with mustard. Unagi is a fan favorite, with cubes of barbecued freshwater eel enhanced with a sweet sauce complemented by the well-seasoned rice." - Michelin Inspector

This yummy spot is part of an Asian food hall. Multiple vendors putting out some delish fresh food. UniGirl has various onigiri 🍙 options available including tuna, salmon, beef, and even doggie treats. Tried one of each flavor and everything impressed.

UPDATE 12/29/24: ok, so we’ve now eaten here at least 5 times since our original review, so I feel like I’ve given them ample time to get things going since they first opened. Each time we’ve been back it seems to have gotten a little better. Today, they offered something that immediately caught my attention, which was a sign that read “Hokkaido Uni & ikura” the kind girl at the front said “sir I just wanted to let you know it’s $24 for this one” and I immediately replied I don’t care about that, I want it. Additionally, that was the one onigiri that the chef only makes fresh, rather than all the others which are premade and set out. Now, I’ve only been to Hokkaido once, but I remember 4 things about Hokkaido, it’s cold, it’s windy, and the crab and Uni are MFing good AF. After tasting this, I decided to grant this place all 5 stars. The Uni was silky, buttery and sweet. The Ikura (one of my favorite things in life) burst in my mouth like sweet/salty explosions of delicious umami, coating my soul in flavor. (Jk I don’t have a soul) I can now recommend this place to everyone. Original review: (3 stars) A solid disappointment for the first dedicated onigiri venue in Orlando. Please allow me to start by saying that this review reflects the 2nd day of opening for this restaurant, and we’ve got to assume (hopefully) that things improve. So I’m someone well travelled around the world, and definitely so in Japan and SE Asia. I’m from Oahu Hawaii where Japanese food dominates local food culture. When I heard this place was going to open, I was excited, but kept my expectations tempered. Upon attempt 1 at trying this place it was a fail as the line wrapped around every inch of the venue, and the place was extraordinarily poorly organized, plus the parking situation was abysmal. Today was attempt 2, and we succeeded with only a 30 minute wait despite coming only 15 minutes prior to opening. Parking was a little better today as well. Place has very cute decor, and is modeled after owner’s precious shiva inu. Staff are extremely polite, and seem to be working as quickly as they can, and I expect that only to improve as the business has more time under its belt. We purchased 8 onigiri at a cost average of ~$4 per piece, which is reasonable since there are no real alternatives in the area to this venue. Presentation is fine, as onigiri is not ever intended to be fine dining and is meant as a quick and easy bite to eat. We ordered onigiri that included unagi, crab, shrimp tempura, tuna mayo, miso salmon. The pieces are on the small side, which is also fine. I prefer this to some of the unwieldy jumbo onigiri I’ve had in places in Tokyo, Bangkok, and even Texas. When it comes to onigiri, small to moderate sized pieces are best. When it comes to flavor I regret to say that the rice itself has very minimal flavor compared to what I’m used to. The protein fillings were all fine, but I was quite let down by the quality and taste of the actual rice balls 🍙. My wife shared the same sentiments. Overall, I’d say that at this point in time, this restaurant isn’t on par with onigiri I’ve had at even 7-11 in Japan, not to say that they won’t improve as time goes on. In fact, I’m confident they will. Stay tuned for an update later on to see if it’s any better or not.

Parking behind Unigirl is a madhouse. We arrived shortly after opening and we were lucky to find what looked like the last spot left. Leaving was a whole different nightmare as there is only one exit and several vehicles just waiting for anyone to leave so they could park. Plus, the spots create a very narrow row to drive thru. The line for UniGirl was pretty long, I waited about 20 minutes with no idea what I could even purchase. There's no visible menu until you reach the counter and can choose an option in the basket. There is also narrow bar seating in this area where, if you are lucky enough to find a table and chairs, you might just have your back against the people in the queue. I got the chicken onigiri and the miso salmon onigiri. For the two it was like $9.95, so I wasn't offered a loyalty punch card (need a minimum of $10). A whole ~5 cents short. The chicken had an unexpected spicy kick to it, and the miso salmon had no miso flavor. All in all, they were just okay. Thankfully I came early because I walked through the market about an hour later and it packed!

I arrived on a Sunday just before opening and waited about 20 minutes before arriving at the counter. Considering there were at minimum 50 people in line ahead of me, I had no problem with this and actually consider this a fantastic wait time. The staff was very friendly, patient with a first-timer, and offered eight or nine flavors of fresh onigiri to choose from. They were being made and sealed in the back as quickly as they were being sold! The rice was fresh, soft, and perfectly complimented each of the fillings I tried. I'm looking forward to bringing my husband!

This is the talk of the community lately. Been a mission to find the time to come here before they sell out. First come first serve. When it's gone it's GONE and they close shop for the day. Located in Tien Hung market along with BahnMi boi and KaiKai, Uni girl really holds its weight here. For shop hours you need to check their Instagram story the night before. I got here 5 minutes early and there was already a substantial line forming (great sign) by the time 12:00pm rolled around the line was almost out the door and by 12:13 while waiting in line a few items were already selling out, crazy! What you see is what you get. The onigiri rack sits up front with all the flavors for the day. Seeming to range around 3-6 dollars. I got 4 onigiri, the flavor of the day which was Beef Sukiyaki, One of the most popular, Spicy miso crab, a more traditional miso salmon and then fried chicken flavor. With tip it totalled out around 22 dollars. 22 dollars for onigiri? I've spent worse at Conventions before, and the quality here blows that out of the water. My flavor rankings are probably 1st place Fried chicken. 2nd beef sukiyaki 3rd spicy miso crab 4th miso salmon. I didn't expect to love the fried chicken one MORE than the spicy miso crab. I LOVE crab. But the flavor and sauce and texture just hit right. And the flavors and textures in the beef sukiyaki were phenomenal. Tender beef, onions, and sweet sauce and prominent shiso leaf. Very good. The miso crab fell short for me because I tasted more of a tangy citrus flavor than "miso" and at $6 a pop being one of their more expensive onigiri, the amount of crab was lacking. BUT! it was REAL crab. So that's nice. The miso salmon ranked last not on anything bad it's just a very simple basic onigiri. All 4 were very good. I highly recommend coming here a few minutes early and eating your onigiri as soon as you get them so your nori doesn't get too soggy. Glad to finally make it here. Great quality food. Fast service, friendly and knowledgeable service and clean and efficient set up. No complaints.

Google
Unigiri from UniGirl is worth every penny and every second of the wait in line—which, really wasn’t a long wait for us at all. The team quickly prepares incredible unigiri and other delicious snacks like konbini fried chicken and hash browns, taking care of each customer with impressive efficiency and care. Each item we tried was even better than we anticipated, which is no surprise for anything made by Chef Shen and his team. Definitely try the mocktail and featured dessert!

The wait was 55 mins, and it was worth it. We ordered the fried chicken, the shrimp tempura, the egg salad, the tuna mayo and spicy crab. They were all delicious but the the fried chicken and shrimp tempura was our favorite the flavor was savory yet a bit sweet, the condiments were just right. All of the Onigiris had fresh rice and all were great size. The price ranged from $4 to $6 dollars. We also brought a peach soda $3.75 and it was delicious as well. I am very happy with my order and quality of the food. We will be back.

Stopped in on a rainy Tuesday at lunch and thankfully there wasn’t a line. The person at the counter was so sweet and kind and greeted us warmly. They didn’t hesitate to answer any questions we had since I had friends with me who had never tried onigiri. We picked the tuna & mayo, salmon, fried chicken, crab and shrimp tempura. They all were so delicious with the standouts being the fried chicken, tuna and shrimp. The rice is perfectly seasoned, fresh and warm. The fried chicken was crispy and had a nice spice that was mild. You can’t go wrong with topping it all off with a brownie and Ramune. The brownie was nice and gooey and full of dark chocolate. They are really centrally located and close to other great restaurants and shop. Parking in the back lot is pretty easy when it’s not full.

Yelp
I came here for their soft opening and opening day. It was extremely busy both days with a line out the door! They have a good variety of Onigiri (hence the name). I remember getting the marinated salmon roll rice all and loving it! The staff were very friendly and did a great job of pushing the line and taking care of everyone in a timely manner. They stay open till around 4p, or till they run out of product. They are located in a multi restaurant spot on Mills in the heart of "little Nom". You go to the counter and pick the rice balls from the display you want to purchase. They're all labeled with their respective fillings. I will definitely be back! They have a few pop ups planned for the near future, and I love rice balls!

Rocky M.

Yelp
I love stopping by Unigirl if I'm looking for a quick snack! The service alone is reason enough to visit. The staff always does a great job at answering questions and providing recommendations. I really enjoyed the Unagi and Tuna Mayo onigiris. They had a lot of flavor and tasted really fresh. I tried the fried chicken and shrimp tempura ones but found them to be a bit on the drier side. Overall, a nice place to check out if you're in the area.

Cindy D.

Yelp
Visit count to Unigirl: 3 Great service, fresh food every time. There are menu items sold out every time I go though. This time around, I tried the fried oysters. Highly addictive, especially dunked into the tangy and acidic sauce that comes with it. No wait time on a weekend afternoon.

Crystal R.

Yelp
4/5 for what it is. Same concept as Kai Kai as it is a shoo in a bldg with other vendors The food was okay could use a bit more sauce inside. The shrimp one was my favorite. Service though was 10/10 the young lady working up front was very nice and helpful

Marwa S.

Yelp
OH.MY.GOD. PUT THIS ON YOUR LIST NOW!!!! Now, I had pretty low expectations coming in here. I knew it would probably be good but all I heard and saw about when it came to Mills Market was Kai Kai. And that is an absolute sham. Not only is this restaurant amazing, the pricing here is FANTASTIC. while ongiri is not a popular restaurant concept, orlando does have omsubee which has a cult like following from everyone I know who has went. Pricing everything minus the Hokkaido Uni (which is a steep $25) is around 5ish dollars or less. After my wallet cried at the price of Uni, I went with the fried chicken, beef sukiyaki and shrimp tempura options which totaled to about 15 dollars. From the first bite I had, I knew they were not only committed to making sure they delivered in good flavor but also freshness. The line was a bit long when we went in but it moved relatively fast like two minutes fast. While we waited, I saw them continuously making more ongiri, and restocking. I saw it but wow, that first bite was warm and I could tell this was freshly made. This was definitely something made with passion for the craft. I have not had an onigiri this good in years. That was just the fried chicken one! I was IN AWE and was ready to go back for more!! The beef sukiyaki was no different. I was absolutely floored and left speechless at how good it was. It was DELICIOUS. I do recommend that you eat these right way or relatively soon after purchasing. The shrimp tempura one was my least favorite of the three. It was just okay but I had this one much later after it had cooled down. And if it was okay then, I can't even imagine how much better it was when it was warm. The food here is amazing. Sure, seating is atrocious here and it's packed still even though the initial buzz has died down in the market but with onigiri, it's an easy snack to eat while standing off to the side somewhere hoping you don't get hit by someone as they weave through the place. I don't live near here. In fact, this is about a 45 minute to hour drive for me but I already want to go back. Like this restaurant was absolutely worth the drive alone. If I lived or worked around here, I would be here ALL the time!! Seriously even if you have never had onigiri, you NEED TO COME here. I cannot recommend this place enough. 10/10

Michelle T.

Yelp
A really cute onigiri booth in a small Asian food court. Most of the onigiri are made, then packaged in plastic and set out near the counter. However, you can request special onigiri made if you see it on the menu but don't see it on the counter. For instance my friend special ordered a plum onigiri and I ordered the uni ikura onigiri which was absolutely stunning (photo attached). I also tried the beef onigiri. Everything was really good. The sushi rice flavor and temperature was perfect. The uni and ikura were really fresh and plentiful. I wish that all of the onigiri were made to order. The ones on the counter get a bit lukewarm and can sit out for a while if customers don't grab them. The onigiri I ordered fresh were way better in comparison.

Catherine P.

Yelp
Friendly service, quick service, so yummy . This is great for a quick lunch or snack. There's three different restaurants in Mills market and then there's like a little shop where you can pick out some snack items. There's some sit down tables and some standup tables. It was pretty busy for a Thursday at 12:30 pm, but I was in and out! Today I tried the tuna and fried chicken tuna was a little spicy, but so good and the fried chicken is delicious probably my favorite. The beef one is also definitely worth a try as well as the pulled pork.

Victoria S.

Yelp
This place is so good! It gets pretty packed in this market though when it opens. Everything is set up so nicely and the line does move fairly quickly. I find myself always checking their Instagram story for what flavor they have or if Uni will be in store. I've gone so many times and still have not met the star! The staff here are so nice and friendly! I am pretty sure I have tried all the flavors by now. The Fried Chicken is my absolute favorite but the Tantan is really good too. If you get the chance to try the Uni Ikura one you should it's so delicious! Definitely check this place out!

Amy C.

Yelp
Stopped by unigirl again for dinner. My son loves the onigiris here out of all the places we have in town. We usually avoid coming here on a weekend cause crowds but we came on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty packed inside but no wait for unigirl. We grabbed 1 of each plus an extra eel. They were all delicious.

Linnea E.

Yelp
Unigirl was on my list to visit for my next trip to Orlando and they'll probably be on the list to visit again the next time I'm in town! I can see why they're popular - the variety of onigiri was impressive and the two I tried (tempura shrimp and unagi) were tasty. The Mills 50 Market space is a little overwhelming when it's busy - and it was VERY busy when I visited - but it has that street food/market energy which is fun.

Enit S.

Yelp
Loved the concept. Fresh made onigiri, and really good flavor. I honestly don't understand why more places are not doing this. Sapporo Ramen use to have these when they were still open, and I'd always order the raw salmon and tempura one. Sooo amazing and only $2 each. That's the problem I seem to have with Unigirl, and why I bring this up at all. You need to eat close to 3 or 4 to come close to being satisfied because they are small and that adds up to almost $20 depending on which Onigiri you get. Granted, it's inside of a market where there's 2 other food kiosks so you could in theory just get 1 or 2 and then something else from the other stalls. I still find it really expensive. I also ordered the mocktail made of fresh fruit juice and it was maybe 7oz of juice, that cost me $5 I want to love Unigirl but shelling out almost $30 just for me and leaving only ok, not full is rough. Especially considering that you have to wait usually a long line and stand to eat your food.

Berlyn D.

Yelp
Onigiri we got Crab, tantan, salmon and others, I forgot the others. They are really good, great in flavors and very filling! We got fried shrimp balls and those are my favorite. I'm glad they have it here. Very crispy and they enough meat on it. I also have the shrimp dumplings, more meat on the inside. The Drink I got was really good also! The food is delicious. This place have enough tables to dine. They sell different food on the stand and drinks you can choose and pay to the cashier. The service was fast and everyone was friendly. We will come back here more.

Carla S.

Yelp
I finally went to Unigirl, and it was fantastic. Onigiri are Japanese rice balls wrapped with a seaweed sheet and can be filled with different things or eaten plain. I tried this in New York City before, and ever since, I wanted to find something similar in Orlando. Unigirl is located inside the Mills Market (formerly Tien Hung Market), which has been transformed into a food hall hosting Banh Mi Boy and Kai Kai BBQ. I ordered the mayo tuna and the crispy chicken. Both were delicious. You have to eat them right away while they are warm; otherwise, they won't taste the same. You can see the team working on making the rice balls on the spot. There is a seating area inside the market. This is such a cool news spot. However, parking in this area is tricky. I was lucky to find a good spot. I recommend following Unigirl on Instagram to stay updated on their hours and days of operation. Also, if you are lucky, you meet their dog.

Kelly N.

Yelp
Located in the Mills Market, Unigirl is definitely a great stop for a quick bite! While I think the Onigiri are a little expensive, the one we tried (beef sukiyaki) was definitely very tasty and flavorful. They have everything pre-made so no wait necessary. The market itself was a little busy on a Friday evening, but I quite enjoyed the comforting food-court style set-up they were located in.

Audrey A.

Yelp
I wasn't going to buy any onigiri since I make them at home, but I don't make unagi, tan tan, beef sukiyaki or monteiko-- so obviously had to buy a few to bring home for the kids. Was happy I did because they were delish. The unagi and beef sukiyaki were the faves. Will definitely be back.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Located in a former Asian supermarket , this little food stand was nicely set up and their items were clearly labeled. We got there about 20 minutes before they opened (12:30pm) and lined up. About an hour later, we ordered and ate. Ranging from pricing of around $4-$6, these onigiri are delicious! I ordered the salmon, tuna, fried chicken, and unagi eel. They were all so good that I'm not sure I can pick a favorite. The rice is seasoned and it even has edamame pressed into it. I also ordered the sesame cream puff and they are small, but come as a set of 3. Also very tasty! I can't wait to go back and try more options. Hopefully, the lines calm down or they can set up another register!

Ayana H.

Yelp
First time having onigiri and it was amazing!! The fried chicken and the shrimp tempura were both tasty, but the fried chicken was worth a return visit a d possibly a future item I will crave!! The market was fairly busy, but the line moved quickly and the staff was friendly and open to answering my questions! I'll definitely return for the fried chicken onigiri and to try more items on their menu!

Danny K.

Yelp
Checked out Unigirl, and ordered a variety of onigiris that they offered. My favorite is the Miso Salmon onigiri. While the flavor and texture were delicious, I felt that there was too much rice and not enough filling. If they made the onigiri smaller, while keeping the same amount of filling, it may be better to balance out the rice to meat ratio. Overall, it's a great snack to enjoy since there aren't many places that offer onigiris in this area.

Erin M.

Yelp
Unigirl is such a fun, unique spot tucked away in the Mills Market in the Mills50 District. All of their Onigiri (Japanese rice balls) are made to order, and you can see all the employees hard at work making each fresh onigiri! They currently update their hours on Instagram, and they are only open until they sell out. The day we visited they opened at 11:30am (9/2/24). There's a parking lot in the back of the market, and it's pretty small and tight so I would recommend arriving early. We got in line just a little after 11:30am and waiting over half an hour to get to the front and place our order. We got a few tuna mayo onigiri ($4 each) and one miso salmon onigiri ($4.50). They had several different flavors to choose from and all ranged from $4-6 each. They were both delicious, but the portion is small. The tuna mayo had a bit of a mustard hint to it, and both onigiri had seasoned rice with edamame. I think this is a great spot to try out, but personally I wouldn't want to wait that long and pay that much for a small snack that I enjoy making at home. I am very glad I tried out Unigirl and it makes me happy to see little Asian spots like this pop up here in Orlando!

Jasmin T.

Yelp
Upon hearing that there will be a new onigiri restaurant opening in Orlando we were so excited to try it out and visited immediately right when they opened. The onigiri were freshly made which is great. However, we thought the price per onigiri is a little pricey for the portion that they give you. I literally took 3 bites and it was all finished. Another thing is they barely included the meat in their onigiri. Overall, It's a great spot for a quick bite The service was friendly and prompt.

Minju K.

Yelp
These are the best onigiri I had. Though the perfect snack sized meal to grab on the go. My personal favorite was the beef sukiyaki with the fried chicken and classic tuna. Mayo were really good as well. They run about four dollars a piece give or take and other than the price, I would highly recommend

Kevin S.

Yelp
Came during their soft opening. Food is decent but there were a few things that could be improved upon. While the rice looks well seasoned the bites I took from 3 of their onigiri were not as flavorful as I would've liked. Perhaps they could add to the seasoning? Like some vinegar the way sushi rice is done. I found it also to be an odd choice to add a soy bean or green bean to the mixture. I personally did not like the bites where there was a bean because it was too much of a stark contrast. If the rice can stand on its own, I don't believe any other additions are necessary. Service was prompt and friendly. You could see the staff furiously making the onigiri just to keep up with the ordering. I ordered shrimp tempura, eel (unagi), fried chicken, and spicy crab mayo. The hot food items such as shrimp tempura, eel, and chicken were still warm inside the rice which is a testament to how fresh the ingredients are. I don't think it's fair to compare the onigiri you are getting here compared to say a Japan Lawson, family mart, or 7-11 since this is a higher end item. The onigiri size wise is larger and the ingredients are more premium hence the price difference. I would look forward to seeing if this place wasn't so busy in the future. I got in line 30 minutes before open and waited in line for a total of 60 minutes before getting to the counter. If it was quicker I think it would be more worth it.

Beatrice P.

Yelp
This is a cute little stand inside of the Mills Market on Colonial. It can be found in the same market that Bahn onigiri Mi Boy is in. The staff is very kind and helpful. The onigiri comes in several different varieties. I got the chicken, spicy crab miso, and the tempura shrimp. Each onigiri cost between $4 and $6. I liked the tempura shrimp best. I felt like 2 would have been plenty of food. It is a fun place to crab a quick lunch.

Karina K.

Yelp
You can walk right into the market see what they have and purchase! So happy to have this in Orlando, I got the fried chicken ongiri! Counter service but still so nice, lots of places to sit in to eat as well!

James B.

Yelp
I'm so glad this place is in Orlando! The onigiri bring me back to Japantown in San Francisco. Delicious, lots of flavor options, and the Mills Market is sure to become a staple spot in the Mills50

Natalie E.

Yelp
The line gets so long so make sure you come early because there is a good chance they might sell out because the onigiri or rice balls are amazing. I got the beef sukiyaki, miso, salmon, and tuna, mayo. My favorite of all three was the beef sukiyaki. It's like a beef rice bowl in a ball!! Make sure to keep an eye out on their Instagram because they do list the opening times and they do have fun raffles on some of the days. I got a free snack for being one of the first 10 people in line for that day.

Ajade N.

Yelp
I like these. Right amount of ingredients, freshness and uniqueness. I purchased the shrimp, miso salmon, tan tan and their dessert of the day. Loved it all, the cashier was so sweet and friendly part of why I'll be back.

Nga N.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday around 1PM and everything they had was still available. I got the fried chicken, beef sukiyaki and miso tan tan. It'd have been nice if they have ume. I feel like ume is such a classic that it's a must. These were tiny which I'm ok with so that way I can try multiple ones. For $4.5 each, they're not the cheapest but nothing is cheap these days. I had lunch right before this or else I'd need at least 5 to be full. I thought the flavors were ok. I didn't think the worth the hype and the long line out the door like it did. The fried chicken one was the best. The fillings were small but I think that's normal for most onigiri. Also had their strawberry guava mocktail. That was tasty.

RJ I.

Yelp
For a business that used mostly social media for their opening. They don't respond to any questions on their socials, big negative. Very cheap with the filling 96% rice. Quick snack if there is no line. The 7-11 in Japan taste better than these. The cashier was more exited about what I got more than I was. Prep of the unigiri happens in the open so you can see workers scratch their heads laugh and talk to each other touching other items and going back to making unigiri. It's one of those business that close when they are happy with their profits instead of opening set hours The cashier does not enforce where the line starts. You have people just hovering all over the unigiri and helps them even if there are people in line. Spend a few extra $ get real food next door Kai Kai

Hannah S.

Yelp
Unigirl is such a great spot (and I think one of the only spots) to grab some onigiri in Orlando. The location is perfect and there was plenty of seating inside but these are also convenient to takeout. It is a shared space with a few other businesses but it all works well together. Since we went not long after they opened, the line inside was long and Unigirl herself was there meeting all of her guests. The onigiri was delicious, my favorite being the shrimp. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Stachia L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed being in line early to collect a 10% off for the rest of my life. I enjoyed the friendly staff . They advised me that everything was cooked. So, I was able to order more items. I tried the bbq eel, the spicy salmon, the tuna and mayo, and I believe the fried chicken one. Out of all of them, I enjoyed the tuna and mayo and spicy mackerel the most. They both had the most flavor and were so fresh it was still to touch. I gave their brownie a try, too. It was not what I was expecting. It was more of a super soft brownie with cream on top. It is rich in flavor so eat it slowly and with a light refreshing drink or boba.

Victoria S.

Yelp
Wow! This was a great first visit to the market. There was quite a line to purchase which was a little of a turnoff, but I knew it would have to be good. I got the miso salmon onigiri and brought it home, it was delicious! It would have been even better fresh. I wish I grabbed soy sauce or something to go with it to cut the salmon fishy flavor down a bit. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I loved this place. I have been here twice now and I have not been disappointed. The only thing I would say is to get there before or after the rush hours. The bad thing about arriving after the rush is you risk them being out of the flavors that you may want. The food is great though! I have yet to try a flavor that I didn't enjoy. This is in a building with three other food spots and the lines get long, and it gets crowded, so just be aware. Seating is pretty decent. Parking is not the best! My best advise would be to try it, Just come after peak hours. Around 2:30-3:30 is when things begin to slow down.

Yelp
I saw this place recommend on insta so I decided to stop in and I'm glad I did. I got the tuna mayo, fried chicken, eel, and beef sukiyaki onigiri. The the fillings were seasoned well and each onigiri was filled with a decent amount. I also got the mocktail of the day and it was so good I wish it came in a bigger bottle! Overall and a great experience and I will definitely stop by again!

Yelp
Well I was there 3-4 weeks earlier and the line was so long . It was full of teenagers who was waited in line : I wanted to know what is all the hype so I returned today 9/12/2024. Of the 6-7 type of onigiri , they were out 4 out of 7. So the girls talked me into buying the fried chicken , eel and shrimp tempura. The rice was ok . Tasted just ok. There were not enough eel in the rice . It was mediocre at best . The shrimp tempura was not worth the effort. Of the 2-3 ounces of rice there were 2 tiny piece of shrimp Tempura. After tried those two I basically gave up and didn't even try the fried chicken . I gave it to my dog whose name is Gucci. She sniffed at it and walked away .... Lol.

Yelp
There was a rather long line to get these but I would say worth! We waited 45 minutes and copped a couple of onigiris which were very yummy! They are cheap at approx $4 per onigiri but they are rather small. Looking forward to coming back and hoping the line won't be as long but I appreciate the kindness and efficiency of the staff regardless. The ambiance was a bit scuffed as I guess there is some construction going on but this should be better once it's complete.

Yelp
I was at downtown for an event and I wanted to get lunch so I figure I try this place out! Parking around there is complicated but try to make sure you park in right place. If not your car maybe towed so be careful. I was there on Sunday afternoon. Unigirl was opened at 1230 pm that day. I arrived the market at 1235 pm the line was very long already! Literally rounded the inside store and keep going! So as I waited, I got the opportunity to go up and check out what they have. They do not really have a menu, they have what they made that day! The location is clean and have two other food stores in there. After about 50 min it is my turn. I got fried chicken, eels, tuna mayo and mushrooms. I also got a butter cookies, and a fruit tart! The server and cashier are both friendly and amazing! The buying process only took a few minutes. When I got to my van, I ate two of them for lunch they were so good. I love it them at they have the edamame in the rice and then the main ingredient in the middle of it! I wish they can open more regular times!

Yelp
So happy to have onigiri downtown. What makes this place unique is the variety they offer. We ordered an unagi, tuna and salted salmon. Hubby went back for the fried chicken onigiri. All were excellent but he really loved his fried chicken version. I'm good with the classic tuna salad version but the Unagi was phenomenal. They also had a ikura and a few other unique combinations. What sets them apart, besides the variety, is the rice, which has a slightly nutty flavor. Excellent! Currently they open at noon until they sell out (we were there around 2:30 and few flavors were gone. One thing that was different is you didn't have to fight with the classic wrapper to get to it, they package it more conveniently. Looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
I went later in the afternoon and so options were limited. I decided to try the beef sukiyaki onigiri which, usually I'd be pretty wary of because I'm a pretty staunch tuna mayo onigiri eater (which was sold out, hence...). This really surprised me, the flavor was outstanding and though small it really packed a punch. I'll definitely be coming back (earlier in the day!) to try some other options in the future.

Yelp
Such a cool concept with amazing onigiri options. Today is their first soft opening and they are already so busy. Friendly staff as expected and the casual vibe is nice. Definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
fuegoooooo. if you're in the orlando area def stop in for an onigiri or five from unigirl. eugene is such a gem and was helpful in selecting which ones to try. this food stall is so cute and feels like you're transported onto the streets of japan. 100/10 recommend.

Yelp
If you are in the moodfor some homemade japanese onigiri this is the place to go! A small veriaty of different onigiri packed with asian flavors. Something you don't get just anywhere! Each onigiri has its unique japanese flavor. And they are all delicious! Well, at least the ones we've tried are all delicious! Our favorites are the tan tan miso and the ebi (shrimp) one. They are small but they sure can fill you up good. The staff they are young fun and friendly! Super sweet! They always greet with a smile. And they answer any questions anyone may have. Now the place itself would be better if they had their own place but since they are just starting its fine. You wouldn't expect it to be inside a market shared with another food place right next to it inside the market, if that makes sense? We'll you have to look carefully at the entrance door because it says that unigirl located inside. But it definitely is worth the wait on line. Can't wait to take some friends.

Yelp
The food was very delicious they sell out fast so come early the workers was very nice

Yelp
Underwhelmed with the amount of rice to meat on the onigiris. Especially for the amount charged! The novel concepts such as the beef sukiyaki didn't reflect the actual dish as is. Bummed for my experience here.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. If there is a small line. Wait. It's worth it. We tried the tuna onigiri and the fried chicken onigiri. They only stay open until they sell out, so don't wait too late in the day.

Yelp
This place had a long line due to its popularity on social media, and its flavors are spot on. It was not the best onigiri I have had, but it was good. The curry hash browns are a must.

Yelp
I was so excited to try the new Uni girl at what used to be the old Tien Hung Market. I must've gotten there at the right time because there was no line and they were fully stocked. It was a hard decision but we picked the Unagi and the crab onigiri to try. They were both so delicious. The Unagi was filled with eel and had that great familiar salty sweet, fishy flavor. The onigiri was very flavorful, and the rice was fresh. The crab only Yary was even more delicious. It was absolutely stuffed with crab, had edamame edamame and very flavorful. So excited we're gonna come back in a few hours after walking around to get more but they were sold out at that time. I absolutely recommend you come and try the spot out but get there early so you have more of selection. The folks there are very nice and answer any questions you have. The best part is that you can have a whole food adventure here. Get some onigiri, walk two steps and get a bahn mi and then walked two more steps and get some crispy pork. This whole little Center has become an epic place for food!

Yelp
Flavorful and good service! Good filling to rice ratio. My only complaint is that the seaweed gets soggy

Yelp
Oh my gosh, what a treasure! I'm always on the hunt for tasty Japanese food and snacks, and made it a point to check out Uni Girl after I saw a video about it online. SO glad I did! I got 3 onigiri - fried chicken, beef, and pork. Incredibly good, well seasoned, and the staff were so friendly. I cannot wait to make this a regular spot when I visit Orlando.
