Union Bar & Soda Fountain

Happened upon this place on our drive back from Wyoming to Denver. It was so appealing from the street with a huge open space and amazingly lit. We dined on a Monday and it was not super busy the menu was appealing and cocktail and nonalcoholic drinks looked amazing I mean a Ton of mouthwatering cocktails and mocktails including milkshakes and boozy milkshakes the variety is pretty impressive! My husband and I both enjoyed our drinks and would go back To enjoy more of the cocktail/mocktail menus. The food was decent. I got the Mac and cheese- should have opted for the larger size and the bowl was small but it was decent and packed with flavor. My husband’s burger was decent also fries could have used some salt but they were shoestring sooo 10/10 for that and our condiments never came -oversight on the servers end but all in all we will dine at Union again. Had a chance to chat to Ty the owner who takes great pride in his establishment and his staff. Worth a visit to this amazing locally owned restaurant!

I always enjoy an outing to The Union. The cocktails are great; I usually find something new and delicious to try. The Cubano sandwich was fantastic and came out piping hot! Give this place a try next time you’re in Old Town. And when the weather is right, the patio is perfect.

What a phenomenal experience! The food was delicious, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The manager, Jason, went above and beyond…he was attentive, personable, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this place for both the great food and outstanding service. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent lunch during our bike ride on this warm fall day. Shared a Bahn Mi tofu sandwich with sweet potato fries, hot honey chicken wings with Serrano aoili, and PB chocolate bourbon milkshake. Nice outside seating area with a bike rack too. Would definitely come back.

I’m here all the time for drinks and apps because they have the best. Their appetizers are to die for and the alcohol-infused shakes are such a fun touch — you cannot go wrong with any of them. And the loco moco? It tastes like it came straight from Hawai‘i. So good. I have hosted events here, and it was perfect. The space is great, the team is super easy to work with, and everything went smoothly. Whether I’m stopping in for a quick drink or planning something bigger, The Union is always a go-to spot for me. Highly recommend.

The food was so fresh and delicious! I’m so happy to find a place that offers so many gluten-free options that actually taste good and aren’t heavily processed. The service was extremely friendly and we love the Christmas decorations. My only two complaints are please get a separate fryer so we can have gluten-free french fries! :) And it would be nice if the music was a little bit calmer I felt like I was at a rock ‘n’ roll concert :) Other than that, this is our new favorite restaurant. Love love love the fresh ingredients! Deness was super friendly, nice to talk to and great service.

Food and drinks were good. Atmosphere was nice, sat outside. Service was ok, it wasn’t busy and we didn’t see much of our server.

I have been here before and it’s been OK but last night ordered the Friday special of fish and chips. It is supposed to come with Cole slaw. When it was delivered to the table I was surprised at the amount of Cole slaw! It was maybe a tablespoon and a half in a small plastic cup. Really? WTH? I asked for more and was brought another small plastic cup of some very dated looking slaw but at least the cup was full. I placed a fork next to the cup for perspective. Besides that the fish was dry and the fries were undercooked and pretty bland. Just had my last meal there.

Union has one of the best patios in Fort Collins! The outdoor area is fantastic with tons of shade, trees, and seating options. The food and service was great also! We ordered the Jefferson St. Cobb salad that comes with romaine, chicken breast, tomatoes, avocado, bleu cheese crumbles, bacon bits, and ranch. We also ordered the Bucktown sandwich that comes with a giant piece of fried chicken (it says spicy hot on the menu, but wasn't spicy hot in my opinion), house pickles, lettuce, tomato shallot relish, ranch dressing on a brioche bun and fries. This sandwich was so big, I took most of it home as leftovers and ate it for dinner. I need to come back here for the drinks sometime. They look delicious and refreshing.

Horrific Experience - Ruined Our Night We came here expecting a nice family dinner, but instead experienced something absolutely unacceptable. While sitting outside, a large rat curled up right next to our table, clearly dying from poison. Our 6-year-old , who loves animals, witnessed the entire thing and immediately began crying hysterically. She cried off and on for over an hour and kept talking about it long after we left. We immediately informed our server, we didn't make a big deal or freak out, just asked to move. The manager did come over to apologize. However, there was no attempt to comp anything from our bill, and no real acknowledgment of just how disturbing this was for our family. We still had to pay full price for a dinner we didn't enjoy while dealing with our traumatized child, who talked about how much her heart hurt the whole time. I understand that pests can be an issue anywhere, but the complete lack of appropriate customer service and compassion in handling the situation was appalling. We will never return, and I would strongly caution others from eating here.

I love that this menu has everything listed that can be vegan and the menu is super easy to navigate. The restaurant feels very classy and cozy. The tofu bahn mi was amazing! I loved every bite and there were no left overs. The waiters were kind and fast.

Stopped by for lunch recently and had a good experience. I enjoyed a Cubano sandwich, which not every restaurant does as well as Union did. The service was very good. I'm sure we'll be back to try more of the menu.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this place because I was starving, but I would highly recommend it! I had an amazing burger that was the softest burger I've had. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It was almost like the meat was sous vide? I really enjoyed it. I also found the prices reasonable for the amount of food you get, the quality of it, and the fact you don't have to pay extra for a basic side. I also love that their outdoor patio is dog friendly. They accommodated both my dog and my friend who was cold by turning on the fire and even bringing a blanket for her! I also enjoyed the lights on the patio at night. It's a chill vibe.

Just landed in California and couldn't stop thinking about the Monte Cristo, bless Jake's soul for recommending it. Amazing food with even better service, Thank you Jake for making this stop so unforgettable I had to come back the next day.

This is the perfect spot to go for a sunny day or not sunny day (they have a really cool indoor restaurant with great aesthetic and outside as well) we went on a Sunday and they offered a free mimosa during brunch with a purchase of a meal. We got the steak salad, friend and BLT and all came out delicious! My favorite though was the artichoke dip- it came with friend pasta sticks and I know it sounds crazy but it was SO DELICIOUS. Has a break consistency but a different flavor. We got to enjoy it all while getting some sun and did not have to wait for a table. I recommend this place if you are out of town and want to find somewhere that is lively and outdoors!

Loved dining in their outdoor area. Service was very good but the food was okayish. We liked the grilled cheese toast with tomato bisque but our chicken pesto sandwich was very okay.. and so were the pork ribs. Their shakes are really good - I tried the peanut butter chocolate shake - try it! Their outdoor dining area was very pretty. Our server was very sweet! Their patio is pet friendly! I will probably bring my dog the next time. I will recommend this place for drinks and apps.. maybe don't have an entire meal out here

Outside patio was shaded and we had a great server who helped us with our big party! We loved everything we ordered! The madame and BLT-E was so good.

Nice place. Stopped in for a drink and checked out the outside fire pits and heat lamps. Very nice. We didn't try out any kid the food but will be back with our son and DIL next week when they visit. Maybe then.

The place is not crowded and they seated us immediately. The waiter helped us figure out what soda from their sodas fountain list. They make old fashioned sodas and they have a huge list. Their shake list also looked amazing. We got the classic root beer soda and boozy cookie shake. Both were fantastic, though I liked the lightness of the soda more. We got our food and it was pretty filling. It was so good. The food was cooked well and the flavors were on point with the descriptions. The mini grilled cheese and tomato soup was a great appetizer. The Mac and cheese was just ok, wouldn't order that again. The pork and mash entree was pretty good too! The pork was not dry with a good juiciness to it. We left feeling so full.

Menu had lots to choose from as a first timer I had a hard time picking... I did however settle on the Bucktown chicken sandwich and it was delish with a sunshine dream drink. The host and server were very nice and attentive. Ambience was chill and comforting. Will be back to try more.

Pretty solid place. Good vibes inside and out. Slightly off the main road with all the restaurants and bars so this was a plus for me. Came in on a Friday afternoon and was seated right away. All the food was really good. Server was a little behind. Several times she just walked right by when we needed something from her. It almost seemed like she was trying to avoid eye contact with the table. LOL I'd give them another shot if I was in the area.

My friends and I came here for lunch today. They have 2 kiddos, with the oldest being 5. Our server was amazing. She was so great with the kids and was totally aware of where she was putting down food so little hands couldn't grab. She was attentive and fantastic. The food was also really tasty. We all ordered the tofu bahn mi's and my friend ordered the vegan black bean chili. The bahn mi's come with sweet potato fries and these were the best kind of sweet potato fries. They were perfectly crispy, the right thickness and I ate them all with zero regrets. The sandwich had nice soft bread and everything was seasoned really well. I'd definitely order this again. The space is big but with a ton of natural light. It was a really lovely lunch spot.

Stopped by for a quick snack and a couple of drinks. Our server, Weston was very personable and attentive. The cauliflower crisper were delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Came for dinner. Food took too long, server stood too close. Drinks were pretty good. Haven't gotten our food yet, I will change review if it blows me away, until then 2 stars. Maybe better at lunch. (edit : food was pretty good and got compensation for wait i'll give it up - 5 star. )

Deanna made my multiple trips to Union Soda bar a great experience. I was visiting from Charlotte and enjoyed it so much I went there two times. Both times Deanna gave me great suggestions for dinner, was very attentive, and just a very lovely person. We will be going back. The staff was friendly and helpful and sitting outside in the beautiful Fort Collins. Weather was amazing.

A cute place perfect for a casual drink or outdoor meal with the family. Parking There's plenty of free parking in the area plus I think it may have its own parking lot (though I'm not totally sure about that). We parked in old town and walked over after some time shopping. Seating: There's indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoor because the weather was absolutely perfect. There's table seating and some seating in the grassy area as well as under a pergola. Unfortunately we were sat right where a speaker was in the foliage. It was a bit loud but manageable. This is one point that makes me want to leave a 3 or 3.5 star rating but the place was so cute outside thar 4 seems fair. Drinks: There were tons of drinks options including soda they make there, mocktails, and cocktails. Definitely ask about the frozen drink of the day. Food: There is a happy hour for drinks and appetizers, so definitely check out that part of the menu. We did get a basket of fries as part of happy hour. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The flavor was great but unfortunately the bun completely disintegrated right at the beginning. This is another reason I'd probably opt for a 3.5 star Other things to note: The service was great! You have to scan the menu which is common around town, but for me cell phone service is spotty here which makes that a but frustrating.

Came here after a long shift at work, and this is the best local bar & restaurant I've been to in six years living in Fort Collins. Making me bummed I didn't try it sooner! Staff are all very down to earth and friendly, combined with a great atmosphere and incredible food, I'm gonna be telling and recommending to everyone I know.

The food was pretty good - service was pretty good. The concept of the place is fun. I thought it was over priced what I got but it wasn't bad!

Been back a few times and one of my favorites was the Olympus bowl. This time the falafel was dry and even after a remake, disappointing. Floury texture and still dry. Come to find out the recipe had changed. The roasted vegetables were more of a soggy mix which seemed to have been sitting around for a while. Overall it is a dish I would never order again. What a waste of $18 I'd wished could have spent on something else as the waitress just apologized and didn't take any other action.

Super great and affordable food. Such a cute place. I have gone in and gotten rude staff on more than one occasion.

The restaurant was beautiful inside and out. The place looked upscale until you see the chairs. They were more of cafeteria style chairs that sort of deflated the impression of this restaurant. However, the servicewas excellent! Their hot chicken sandwich was good. Their patty melt too was good. However, I can't say the same for the Montecristo sandwich. Don't order the Montecristo sandwich. It was a grease dripping soggy mess. In all fairness, Montecristo sandwich is one of the hardest to make. I suggest they take it out of the menu because they can't get this right. If you want to try a non-grease dripping Montecristo, go to Peppers in Firestone, CO.

LOVE THE SERVICE!! our waiter was dinesh was the best server I've ever had EVER, he brought drinks/food/etc all at perfect times and waited perfect times in between to check on us for refills or ordering other things. The food came out again at PERFECT timing. Also Juana made sure our table was free of any plates not needed and was so pleasent and again the best. I got the patty melt it was 7/10 and their skinny fries are YUM 10/10. The restaurant is very clean and not noisy or crazy it was nice and relaxing it had a nice ambiance ! LOVE Juana and dinesh 10/10

Another great experience at Union, this time with food! Came in between happy hour and it was pretty empty so we got to choose to sit on the patio or inside. Don't get me wrong the patio is beautiful and nicely designed, but it's quite loud and there aren't many options for shade. We opted to sit inside with the air conditioning and thought we made a good choice. I've come to the conclusion that they like to make their drinks STRONG and BOOZY. Like the drinks are no joke. Thankfully, you'll have a long list of alcoholic beverages to choose from, of which at least one should suit your fancy. They offer a great menu with tons of different variety. I'm a sucker for chicken pot pie lately and they craft a delicious one. It's a bit small for those with heftier appetites, but it was the perfect size for me. A little on the saltier side. Worth it. Yeah! Thanks, Union!

Decided to treat ourselves to a late lunch! I honestly love this place. The atmosphere is great and the food is amazing. They have a lot of great options! I will say that they make probably the best grilled cheese and tomato soup that I've ever had. We all shared this for our appetizer and it was gone in seconds. The cheese was perfectly melted, the bread was nice and toasty, and the soup hit the spot. The rest of the food was also really yummy! Would recommend!

Visited here for the first time with friends last weekend. We were out on a date night. Positive : 1. the menu is clearly labeled for common dietary restrictions - gluten free or gluten free available, vegetarian, vegan 2. There was several options for gluten free and vegan and vegetarian people. 3. restaurant was clean and classy. 4. service was friendly. Negative: 1. the prices are expensive. phew! $81 for a dinner for 2?? I ordered sweet potato fries and a quinoa corn salad and water. I am not sure what my husband got but our ticket seemed really pricey. We probably wont be back as the prices were a bit high for us. But we enjoyed the experience, ambience and food.

First stop in Fort Collins was dinner at Union and they did not disappoint. Good drinks and food and an awesome patio to take advantage of on a warm night. I had the Hot Chicken sandwich, although to me it was not very spicy, but was giant and full of delicious sauce and pickles. The fry sauce and shoestring fries were great. My wife had the Olympus bowl which was full of fresh ingredients and had a citrusy dressing that was bright and tasty. Both dishes were filling and we both had a bit of leftovers to take home. We had a small wait for a table outside since it was such a beautiful night, but we were able to grab a drink at the bar while we waited. Union has a lot of delicious sounding menu items and the space is huge, inside and out. Great selection of beers and cocktails look great as well. Definitely a good stop if you are in downtown FoCo.

Came here for dinner with my son and the service was excellent and the food was good. My tomato soup was delicious it tasted fresh and homemade, the grilled cheese dippers were just OK not a lot of flavor from the cheese. The pretzel bites were really good but the cheese had congealed on the top. My son really liked his pesto chicken sandwich so over all it was a good meal. I would like to come back when I'm much more hungry cause they looked like they had some really good dinner options. The desserts looked delicious but we were too full to try them. We have a least 3 more years of school here so I'm sure we will be back. The cocktails definitely looked like something I have to come back to try alone.

This was our favorite go to place from opening day until 5/16/25...especially thru summer time...until the menu change! They got rid of a wildly good happy hour menu of food and drinks! Good discounts and great appetizers. Now happy hour happens only at the bar area...and who knows what's on that. All prices have shot up to nothing under $20 including my Cobb salad! Many items quite a bit over $20. Then my sunshine daydream that I always get had less alcohol in it so, last night may have been my last night there!

This place is delicious from start to finish!! Our first visit was perfect! Came in around 8pm on a Sunday. We just moved here and fresh from the airport and needed some good food! Food 10/10! We got the grilled cheese dippers as an app and they were amazing! Highly recommend! Pot pie ...to die for! The croissant was flaky and crispy and the pot pie filling was rich and creamy. Drinks 10/10 International waters ...definitely get this if you want a very light, velvety and pleasantly sweet but not too sweet martini! South for the winter 10/10 very tasty mezcal martini with a nice kick to boot! Ambiance 10/10 ...modern, spacious, sleek, and classy. It was decently busy here and oddly enough it was pretty quiet which we loved! Service 10/10 ....we sat at the bar and Chelsea helped us and was knowledgeable, welcoming, and had wonderful recommendations! She made our time awesome and we will for sure sit at the bar for her again! Overall, would absolutely come back and we already can't wait to return!

Nice, big establishment with a yummy variety of American fare. Went here after my sister's graduation and food took over nearly an hour to arrive, which left us feeling ravenous when the food finally hit the table. I had the fried chicken sando and it was okay; the bun wasn't toasted and didn't do much for the overall flavor; the chicken was actually tasty and had a dusting of Nashville spice, but I wasn't able to even pick up my sandwich due to the size and messy setup. My sisters patty melt looked tasty too, but she found a gray hair in her sauce (shoutout the manager who took it off our bill). Overall not bad, could be a nice place to take your parents for a chill lunch.

Never disappointed when I come here. Food is good. Atmosphere is good. Drinks are good. ADDED: I think this is important to add okay! We brought my niece here a couple of times. She loves to explore, run around, and meet people. Union has ALWAYS been so accepting of her outgoing personality. Not only have we always enjoyed our food, but Union has made us really feel like we were at home.

The food was awesome, but the service was absolutely amazing. Not only did we have a pleasant waitress, who was able to make my daughter laugh a few times, but Union went above and beyond when an issue arose. After paying for my meal, I had forgotten my credit card. I did not realize for a few days. I called them and they had it, but explained I lived more than an hour away and they were kind enough to ship the card back to me for free. And when they shipped it, they double enveloped it so nobody can see the content. It was so pleasant to see a business go out their way to make their customers happy. I definitely will be visiting again soon.

Food is as good except my fries were cold. They did bring hot new fries out. The thing is that there were several very active field mice under our table near the north fence. When I let them know, they were well aware of the mice. They don't want to poison them, which makes sense but there are so many other options than throwing up your hands. Build a solid fence that the mice can't run back and forth through. Trap them. So many options that don't include your guests putting their feet up to avoid the mice running up their legs. Call me crazy.

Lots of great food options, all of which we enjoyed! Great outdoor seating and vibe overall. Great for large or small groups. Good service and friendly servers.

Had a really lovely group of friends dinner here the other night. It was a weeknight and we were able to get a table for 6. I believe our waitress was Hannah(?) and she was very attentive and kind! I'm vegan and there were a couple options. The tofu banh mi. It was delicious. The sweet potato fries were great, not mushy at all like they can be sometimes at other places. I wish the cauliflower crispers were vegan!! They aren't marked as such on the menu but sound delicious. I would have loved to order an appetizer. To drink I got the root beer, it was a little sweet/syrupy for my taste but not bad! I love trying different root beers and birch beers so I don't regret ordering it but probably won't get it again. Next time I'll try cherry and cola or vanilla and orange like the waitress suggested (I asked what was most popular!)

The patio at Union is amazing! Awesome seating and in a great part of town so you can walk other places from here. This, however is the only reason most people I know come here. The food is just not good, nor are the drinks.

Yum yum yummy! Had the Madame and it was DELICIOUS! I didn't want to do it (looks like way too much food for one) but I just had to do so, the party in my mouth was just too good! Also super tasty...the fountain soda, I had one with ginger. It was so fresh. Sounding five stars, well the service was just decent and while my food was rant and raveable, table average was "good!". That being said, I'd come back for a Madame + soda party any day!

Stopped by Union while brewery hopping in Fort Collins with friends. We were walking by and the patio caught our eye - such a cool space! We stopped in around lunch time on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Service was friendly and attentive! I ordered a delicious tequila cocktail along with a frose for drinks - so good! I also split the fried chicken sandwich with my fiance. That sauce that comes with it is so good! I'd definitely come back here for more good food & drinks!

Came here based on great reviews and the cute setting/patio. I ordered the monte cristo, and my wife ordered the chicken pot pie. The monte cristo was HUGE, like an insanely large portion, and it was almost inedible. There was a ridiculous amount of cheese on it, and it was so greasy that there was a pool of oil on the plate and the fried part became a soggy, mushy mess. My wife's chicken pot pie was decent, but nothing to write home about. We both ordered waters. With two entrees and nothing else, it was almost $50 after tip, which is ridiculous for a half-edible meal. Don't recommend and will not be returning.

We both decided that we were in the mood for American food and this came up as a top 10 choice. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a bar area. The building itself was very clean and modern. My only complaint is, as we aren't locals, parking was not easy to find. As far as the food....whoa!!! Well, the Monte Cristo was...WHOA!! We both ordered it and it is one of the best I've ever had. The cheeses complimented the meats perfectly and the whole sandwich was dipped in the batter then fried. So so good. Then you add just a touch of the strawberry jam to each bite and ...WHOA! Warning: it's super rich and not easy to, nor should you finish on your own. Did I mention it was delicious. The servers were attentive and friendly. I wish we were local so I could make the Union a regular place to return to. Prices are average for Colorado.

The union is stunningly appointed- love the retro decor, and the patio was beautiful with fire pits to keep everyone warm outdoors. We didn't try many items, but based on what we did have, I told my husband I would drive all the way from Denver just to eat here. The bananas froster was SO GOOD- heavy on the spiced rum, super flavorful and sweet. The banana chips decorating the top had a touch of cinnamon on them that just took the whole drink over the top. The monte cristo was the perfect sandwich- completely battered and fried, none of the "pan fried" cop out like other restaurant's monte cristos. I will absolutely be back!

Good food good ambience nothing really special. I could see summer time might be better with the big outdoor patio space. I'd likely go back!
