The Meadowlark, a new Logan Square cocktail bar, will soon open | Eater Chicago

"Situated under the same roof and added in March, Union is a craft beer–focused bar that offers 24 Great Lakes region beers on tap along with more than 200 whiskeys; Vucekovich will be revamping its cocktail offerings, leading bartender education focused on bourbon and whiskey, requiring fresh daily citrus for cocktails, and bringing in housemade syrups and bitters from the broader Meadowlark program." - Sam Nelson

Dallas Restaurants Are Requiring Staff and Diners to Wear Masks Again | Eater Dallas

"At the Oak Lawn location, staff are required to wear masks and diners must wear masks whenever they are not seated; patrons are also asked to maintain six feet of distance from others while inside. Those preferring not to mask can use the shop’s walk-up window to place orders." - Alex Gonzalez

My favorite coffee shop in Dallas. Perfect atmosphere, friendly and talented baristas, and cool outdoor patio! They also do amazing work for the community. As long as I’m in Dallas, I will be here every week.

☁️ I saw God in a matcha latte 🍓💚 Union Coffee (Dallas) — you owe me emotional support after that Strawberry Fields Matcha and vegan Pop-Tart. The matcha tasted like a strawberry fell in love with peace itself 🍵✨ and the Pop-Tart? A flaky little miracle that whispers affirmations while filing its own taxes 🥐💅 The vibes? Immaculate. The baristas? Radiating main-character energy 💫 I came for caffeine, left spiritually reborn. 💚 11/10 — would sell my belongings to live inside this latte.

Google
Honestly one of the best coffee houses in Dallas. Has great seating in the back that is so nice to enjoy when the weather is nice. The inside is comfortable and clean. The staff is always very welcoming. They have interesting seasonal coffee menu but they also do very good standard coffee. I’m glad they exist in the community.

Taylor F.

Google
Great community coffee shop right in the heart of Oak Lawn! I love walking over here to work or hang with friends, and the large outdoor seating area allows my pup to join me! The staff is super friendly and the vibes are great! They have a wide selection of coffee drinks and non-coffee drinks like tea, matcha, and smoothies. The pastries and snacks are great as well!

Google
Enormous space, two stories coffee, meeting room available to reserve, deck area and a huge patio with beautiful trees. This place is always busy they gather a lot events, not my type of events, but is nice to see happy people. Coffee was good, friendly people, positive and festive vibe.

Google
If you're a coffee lover in Dallas, Union is a must-visit spot! The outdoor seating area is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of joe or catch up with friends over a delicious latte. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the coffee is simply amazing - every sip is a flavor explosion. Union also has a great selection of pastries and snacks to pair with your drink, making it a one-stop-shop for your caffeine fix. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly and always happy to chat about their latest brews. If you're looking for a coffee shop with a great outdoor space, Union is the place to be!

Ashlie D.

Google
The interior of this coffee shop is very simple, minimalist and a good space for people to meet. The outdoor space is really great! The outside walk up window to purchase coffee is great if you have a dog! There is a large patio and fenced in yard with lots of picnic tables. The staff was friendly and helped me choose a good seasonal coffee.

Sam Y.

Google
I always find myself coming back to this place. Typically get the Frosty Toddy but today I had the best iced caramel latte I’ve had in… who knows how long. And it was perfectly accompanied by a great coffee cake! I love that you can bring your pet and order from the patio. 10/10

Yelp
It's pretty cafe. Their cookies taste delicious. I ordered hot chocolate- its good Service: very friendly staff. Ambiance: calm and apt place for work and study.

Yelp
I forgot to take pictures of the strawberry fields matcha because I drank it so quickly: SUPER DELICIOUS. I also got the blueberry crumble (or cobbler) muffin and the last vegan breakfast taco with salsa. The muffin was moist and flavor and the taco was stuffed with beans and avocado (yum)! The person taking the orders was so patient (I was putting the order on a tab) and helped me navigate the cafe. It was my first time here! There are more seating areas upstairs, so take a peak up there before settling for the porch when it's crispy outside! It's a great place to work, have meetings, or play games!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Great, friendly staff. I enjoyed their holiday tea latte. They also serve taco deli breakfast tacos!
google avatar

Erika Z.

Yelp
Maybe a 3.5 Stopped by before beginning my drive back to Houston. I got an iced vanilla latte which came out to about $7 - already hurting a little, but I've come to realize that Dallas is just kind of an expensive city. It took maybe 5 minutes, give or take, for my order to come out, which is a little longer than I'm used to; I guess the orders ahead of me just took a little longer. The drink itself was okay; based on my amateur coffee taste buds I think the coffee itself was fine but I didn't love whatever vanilla syrup they used. Plus is that they have a good sized parking lot
google avatar

Stacey G.

Yelp
For coffee and ambiance I would totally recommend this place. Great coffee and a lovely inside and outside seating area. Lovely staff. However the tacos are super bad. Don't recommend.
google avatar

Mckenzie B.

Yelp
one of my favorite coffee shops by dallas! Great place to bring a laptop and work on homework or catch up with a friend. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. You can bring dogs to sit outside as well! The pop tart was delicious and I got their holiday drink called Miracle on Cedar Springs. It was perfect mixed and tasted delicious! The service was great and staff was very friendly!

Yelp
Peeps. Really enjoyed this intimate coffee shop. Go check them out on a beautiful, warm day and enjoy the outside where there is plenty of space for a picnic in the City.

Abby M.

Yelp
Come for the vibes, service, and drinks! NOT for the food. I liked the vibe, despite being downtown, it is quiet and relaxed through and through. There's a couple of seats inside but i can see how crowded the interior can feel during busy hours. Outside seating gives you more elbow room. there is a lot of free parking available so you don't have to worry about paying for parking or something (LOVE!) the drink (Berry Beret latte) was delicious, the flavors complimented each other well and it was a creative original recipe. the almond croissant sucked tho, it was just a regular croissant with almonds on top :/
google avatar

Zahkyia H.

Yelp
Great coffee, great food, great service, great atmosphere. Lots of seating in and outdoor. They also have group workspaces you can reserve. Perfect place to work, chill, meet up.

Yelp
Great for coffee. Awful matcha. Incredible bites from tacos to baked goods. The sweetest staff and community focused-coffee shop. Dog friendly with a great outdoor space with plenty of trees and room for your dog (on leash) to join! Love my Union coffee shop visits

Yelp
Love this coffee house! Pros: + Cute interior + Very study and work friendly + Fun flavored drinks - I love their seasonal menu. Fall is always my favorite + Convenient Location + Great staff IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this spot out for the longest and finally got the chance! First off, the service was so friendly and sweet! As I was a first timer they happily told me their favorites on the menu. I went with a spring special I've latte and then got a house-made(from a bakery) pop tart! Let me tell you both were DELICIOUS !!! The pop tart really took me by surprise like it was the best pastry at a shop I have had in a while! Can't wait to get back there!
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
What a cool spot! With plenty of indoor seating options and even more ample space outside, lined with picnic benches and beautifully shaded areas that are fully fenced in, this spot is perfect for individuals with dogs, families with children, and the remote worker knocking out some virtual work. Coffee and baked goods with a unique setting makes this a killer option!

Yelp
Incredible coffee shop with incredible coffee options and plenty of parking (lol). I ordered their iced honey nut oat milk latte (no pistachio cream cause I'm dairy free) and I was blown away by the quality in the beans Union provides. Definitely a true coffee shop in Dallas. 10/10 no notes (okay maybe have a dairy free pistachio foam next time)

Jocelyn I.

Yelp
Enchanted Honey Nut latte was good though the coffee could have been a little stronger. Would have liked to taste the coffee more. I understand that was their most popular drink. The Emerald Mocha latte which my daughter had was "okay" she said. We also had their croissants - butter, chocolate, almond. It looked good but tasted like all others I've had - normal. They heated it for us and it became stringy and a little hard. Service was fast and good. They were super friendly and patient.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after hearing great things about this place. The baristas were extremely friendly and welcoming. The inside is very clean, modern, simplistic, and bright with great natural lighting. Many different seating options, such as tables, bars, and booths. Parking is really easy too. Ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, and it was great! I saw there were many tables outside too. Love the healthcare discount!
google avatar

Dhiresh J.

Yelp
This is an amazing gem that is hidden in the center of Dallas's Oakland are. Hip and cool with a trendy vibe and a great garden where you can sit- dig friendly too! SHARA the barista was amazing! Lovely lightly flavored white chocolate lavender - not too sweet ! Great job!
google avatar

Shalyn M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this space. I enjoy the drinks but the ability to rent rooms for presentations or speeches is such an amazing added bonus. People are relatively considerate of others when using the space, especially upstairs. I love the whiteboards, timers and provided materials. The staff is very helpful when it comes to troubleshooting the TV connections and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Coffee. Community. Cause. That sums it up well when describing Union Coffee House. Laid back, friendly atmosphere, polite staff in an updated and modernized 80+ year old 2-story house. Centrally located on the campus of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church at Cedar Springs Rd. and Welborn St. it's walkable from Oak Lawn or Uptown neighborhoods and the nearby Katy Trail. Terrific outdoor patio and dog-friendly yard. Come enjoy coffee, pastries, breakfast tacos (til 11am weekdays/Noon weekends--if they don't run out) and a variety of community events (Naked Stage, Sh*tty Craft Night, etc). on their website.

Yelp
Nice little coffee spot with great coffee. Looks like a good place to get some work done or go and socialize with friends. My coworker and I both ordered coffees and they came out quick and fresh. Very friendly staff that gave recommendations. Would love to come back!
google avatar

Camellia A.

Yelp
Was driving down Cedar Springs and noticed people sitting outside by a little house...I pulled into the parking lot and noticed it was a coffee shop. Great! Just what I was looking for! The house/coffee shop was welcoming. I ordered a Caramel and vanilla oat milk latte. The latte was delicious and coming from Nyc it was comparable to Le Pain Quotidien (IYKYK). My only gripe is I like a full cap cup and after the bubbles subsided I had a half a cup. I will be back to give them a 2nd try.
google avatar

Kaylee G.

Yelp
Nice outdoor space The cashier was helpful with the menu Drink where good, not overly sweet or strong.
google avatar

Gabriella F.

Yelp
Super cute spot to grab a coffee, hang with a friend, and take your pup along too! The most unique part was that they have a walk up window to order.. so you don't have to have one person hold the dogs while the other goes inside to order like every other coffee shop. That was a lovely surprise! Pups had fun and they got pup cups
google avatar

Dina B.

Yelp
Dirty tables. Touching cup leads with dirty hands. Rude people at cash register. Overpriced cheap coffee. The only plus is the park area but they didn't water it for a while. All plants around are dead.
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
I walked over to Union from my brother's condo in Uptown a few weeks ago for a coffee and a Tacodeli breakfast taco. I didn't go inside because I love their outside space (a large deck with a few tables and a grassy area with picnic tables - and it's a dog friendly). They have a to go window so that you can order without going inside. The service was great, my coffee good, my Tacodeli taco was a Tacodeli taco, and overall - it's a great coffeeshop! Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
This place is my little Oasis! I can bring my pups, have a matcha latte or some cold brew. There are many different types of people there. From business, to people jogging, locals and travelers. The staff are always kind no matter how busy. They typically hire the gentle mellow type for the register. Always smiling... never a fake service industry serial killer smile... but authentic. Anyways. This is one of the greatest coffee shops in Dallas and if you love coffee and you don't go there, you are missing out!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
I've driven by Union so many times and have been dying to try it! We finally stopped by with our pup and grabbed a table outside. A majority of the tables were shaded by the trees, making it a lovely place to relax. My husband and I both ordered a different drink from their fall menu. I got a version of a mocha and found it to be so-so. I actually didn't finish it and threw it away after only drinking half. It tasted like iced chocolate milk. I tried my husband's drink, and it was better but very sweet. That says a lot coming from someone with a sweet tooth! I am thinking that we simply ordered the wrong things, and I would be willing to go back for a second time. The space and the atmosphere were nice.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Best of all the coffee is great! Ended up getting a matcha and iced mocha and both were amazing. Forget Starbucks and other chains you need to go to Union.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
I would have to say that I love this coffee shop! It was cute and had such a great aesthetic and vibes! It seems like it was an old home that turned into a coffee shop with a good amount of seating both inside and outside. I ordered a lemonade and unfortunately they didn't have much lemonade left and so they even gave me a discount because they had to put a little extra ice to make up for it! I thought it was so genuine how they handled the situation and I was really impressed at how honest they were! Needless to say, I can definitely understand why the lemonade ran out because it was delicious! They also had WiFi that even worked well outside. Will definitely be back for more :)
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Such a cute space and plenty of options. I'd been wanting to stop by here for over a year, and on a sixty and sunny day in February, I did. They have tea options and tons of coffee options, plus a small selection of pastries - including vegan ones. Sit outside at a picnic table with a friend, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Brigitte K.

Yelp
Mint Matcha was so effing good. Seating indoors and there's a conference room you can reserve for bigger groups. If you don't want to go inside, there's a window to order from the outside. Patio seating outside under twinkling lights and dog friendly. I'm coming back to try the coffee, this place is a must try

Jannelle N.

Yelp
I've been going to Union for a while since living downtown and they're my go to coffee shop! Some things I've noticed: - Friendly staff! Based on my interactions with them + seeing them banter with regulars, you can tell Union is being run by wholesome people. - Range of seating - the first floor is the *loud* floor all the people meeting for conversation stay down here. The second floor is quiet. You can pick where you wanna go :) when it's nice outside, you can even sit at one of the numerous the picnic tables if you wanna take in the outdoors. There's also two private group meeting rooms you can reserve (however, I've never done so so I don't know the process ) - sometimes limited seating/parking towards peak hours: I've noticed the parking lot can get full at times, so if you live very close, I encourage you to walk or use the DART bus. If the weather is not nice (ie peak winter + summer) I sometimes find the shop crowded and hard to find a good place to plug in my laptop. - Solid drinks: I find Union's menu very decent. I like their mint matcha, seasonal drinks, and other speciality drinks unique to Union. - Slightly limited food options: my previous regular place had a wider variety of food, so my judgement could be clouded. Bakery items are served all day, but breakfast tacos are only served til 11. But they're soooo good! I wish I could get them later in the day but they don't serve past a certain time to preserve freshness. - COMMUNITY: above all Union is amazing for bringing locals together. This is what truly makes them special. They host some regular and one off events, ie game night, open mic that are open to anyone, which aren't things a lot of coffee shops I've been to have offered. The shop is affiliated with next door Oak Lawn Methodist church - an LGBT-friendly/inclusive church - they both do a lot to help to support the community.
google avatar

Daniel N.

Yelp
The coffee: Solid drip coffee and cortado. The cortado was well prepared, just no points for presentation. They use Onyx coffee. The space: It's an interesting space with a variety of seating options that can be ideal for getting work done, chatting, or just grabbing a quick snack. Overall: I would come back for the coffee or to meet someone here. It was not the best, but everything was good!
google avatar

Kelsey K.

Yelp
Wish they had more premade latte combos but the ones I've had are good. I saw on the website you could order their old seasonal ones but today when I tried to order the butter bliss, that my bf had just got last weekend, they said it was seasonal and they didn't have the ingredients. I did have a lavender lemonade which was delicious!
google avatar

Cat N.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with a nice back yard. This is walking distant within oak lawn and I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for Yelp. I got an ice coffee and sat outside for a bit. Coffee was good and sweetened for me
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
Lots of parking in front which is a plus for dtown and inside was really clean and nice! Enough seating for those who want to come and get some work done. They had a glass room for conferences i think? Not sure if you need to reserve it or not but i thought that was pretty cool. I got a cold brew and its been so long but I remember i enjoyed it. The price of the coffee wasn't too bad..pretty average. I remember it wasn't too loud and obnoxious like other coffee shops might be. i'm sure there are a lot of cafes in dtown to compare to but i wouldn't mind coming back here.

Yelp
A great community run location, with frequent events and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Isabel and I came here for some evening coffee in November and it was as tasty as always. Yelp
I'm staying in Dallas, and the tiny AirBNB I'm residing in has no space at all to work (or eat for that matter). I've been scouting out locations to work, and this is for sure my favorite. It's aesthetically pleasing, makes a delicious Americano, and has plenty of options for indoor and outdoor seating. What's not to love?! They've got a few pastry options if you need a snack as well. I grabbed the lemon blueberry pound cake! If I lived here, I'd be here on a pretty regular basis for work or just to chill... They've even got a conference room available for reservations for larger group work or study sessions.

Yelp
Yesterday I decided that it was time to switch my morning routine up, and instead of making my morning coffee and breakfast at home I visited @uniondallas. Let me start by saying the vibe in this coffee shop is amazing. The indoor setting is very modern and fresh. There is a small little conference room that can be used to host a private meeting, but there is also open space with a few tables and chairs that you can use to work by yourself or with a friend. Not only is the indoor setting pretty cool, but this coffee shop also has an outdoor space that is to die for. The outdoor space has picnic tables, a stage,I assume for special performances, and a walk up ordering window. The best part about the outdoor space is that it is DOG friendly. Now that I've set the scene, let's get into what I ordered. Personally, I'm a croissant kind of girl so I went with a warm ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was very flaky and had just the right amount of ham to swiss ratio. I also ordered a hazelnut iced coffee with oatmilk, and friends when I tell you it's time to put the st*rbucks down, I mean that. This coffee was very fresh and did not lack flavor in any way. @uniondallas offers various milk substitutes so that's also a plus for my dairy free ladies and gents out there. Overall, I would definitely suggest visiting @uniondallas if you get the chance even if you're not a coffee drinker because the vibes are immaculate. Rating: 5/5 Price: $$ Customer Service: 5/5 (very inclusive environment) Union 3705 Cedar Springs rd. Dallas, Tx 75219 FMOIG: tayloreatsdallas

Yelp
Gotta start by saying what a great set up they have here for people who work from home. There are great tables on the first floor to work quietly and then they have an entire second floor dedicated as a co-working space! It's super bright and modern, and definitely conducive to a productive few hours. On top of that, they have a great range of drink options. I got the Sweater Weather latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Service was great too. I also loved the amount of outdoor seating they have at this coffee shop. It's not covered though so unfortunately I was unable to relax there on this wet day. Lots of parking here.
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
Good coffee in an adorable space! The interior of this coffee shop feels clean and open, although there aren't a ton of seats inside. Unfortunately, I think that's what gives it the feeling of being very open because the interior space itself is relatively small. There is picnic-table style seating on the porch, as well as on the huge yard space, which is great for this time of year. If you want to make an afternoon out of it, there are also some Cornhole boards on the nicely manicured lawn. Those are great features for this time of year, but when it gets colder, I can't imagine those tables & outdoor spaces will get much use. The cold brew was smooth, but I wish I would have seen the Fall-inspired menu before ordering.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
I love the location with outdoor tables and shaded patches. I didn't venture upstairs, but space indoors seems fairly limited with one reservable big group table and restroom in the main downstairs area. Nice that they have an outdoor window, too, for those wanting to not leave the fenced in yard. Did notice how the fencing is not 100% complete, however, so I would hesitate before letting your dog off leash. I appreciate any place that is openly welcoming of diversity so I am hesitate to rate it three, but that was my honest opinion. Slightly disappointed in the actual tea. I got an Arnold Palmer; it didn't mix well and was pretty bland. Outside of breakfast tacos they don't have a lot of savory protein options. So if you come for lunch or later in the day and you're hungry, be forewarned. That's what happened to me. Just a tiny cheese and nut pack as my protein option. So while I think I might go back when I'm next in town, it's not my new go-to spot as a result, and I wouldn't drive out of my way for it.
google avatar

Yelp
I took my parents here yesterday afternoon for coffee in the nice weather. I got a latte, my mom got a lavender lemonade and dad got a cappuccino. The tables outside are actually a dog park and we enjoyed the sunshine.

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place! It's in a convenient location if you live around the Uptown/Oaklawn/Turtle Creek area. It's a very quiet cafe, with lots of outlets so it's great for doing work. They have a lot of variety in their menu. They have the basics, plus a seasonal menu, delicious pastries and breakfast tacos. We tried the almond croissant and it was AMAZING! The barista offered to warm it up for us, and that is definitely the way to go. It was the perfect amount of flaky, chewy, and sweet. Would come back just for this!! We also tried 2 of the taco deli breakfast tacos. They felt freshly made with good ingredients. They also offered 3 types of salsas (mild, medium, hot). The Freakin Vegan was my favorite, and I'm not even vegan. It had beans and avocado, but had just the right amount of salty and fresh. The Vaquero was also delicious! I'm not much of an egg person, but still enjoyed it. It tasted like an omelette wrapped inside a warm tortilla blanket. The veggies I side of it were very fresh and refreshing! For a drink, I asked for a London Fog and the barista offered to make it with Paris tea instead of Earl Gray. The Paris tea had a similar sweetness to honey but there were strong notes of berry. It was the perfect tea for a London Fog on a chilly day! It was a little more watery than what I usually like, but it might be because I asked for Oat Milk I stead of Whole Milk. I'll try it with whole milk next time. The barista was very kind, attentive, and helpful. The area itself was very calm with plenty of seating, inside and out. They have many tables outside and a dog park area. Perfect for a morning date with the pup. Overall, would come again!

Yelp
Always enjoy this place, the quality of coffee is great, but for the chick to not sell us breakfast tacos on a Saturday bc it's past 12. Odd decision to me, when clearly there are tacos right there in the bin still and I'm sure the owner wouldn't mind the extra revenue. Also she came off somewhat rude, but enjoyed the coffee and the muffin!

Yelp
For coffee snobs: This is one of the best places in town to try unique pour overs and special recipes. For the more casual coffee drinker: This place has everything from good strong black coffees to very tasty sweet drinks. Matcha, Espresso, Tea, and more. For people looking to study/work in public: This place has a busy vibe that gives you the energy to push through the workday but isn't too loud that it's distracting. Private rooms are available to reserve if you need to have a closed-door meeting or video call. For people who like a cause: This place is a nonprofit that functions as a community center and hosts all sorts of cool programming. Have an idea?? Union should always be your first call to make it come to life...
google avatar

Kezia M.

Yelp
Great work spot downstairs and more quieter study spots upstairs. Plenty of outlets. Coffee prices are standard for Dallas- I got an iced 'sweater weather' with oat milk for $6. Tasted great and wasn't too sweet! Parking depends on time of day but wasn't too bad. Would come again

Yelp
Great coffee and the employees are so nice. We were able to sit upstairs for extra privacy since no one has reserved the area.
