Where to Drink a Guinness in the Indianapolis Area This Winter | Eater

"Union Jack has been a Broad Ripple staple for nearly half a century, serving college students past and present, and even past students’ university-aged kids. It’s that stalwart pub where soccer fans gather and know everyone simply because they are neighbors of this decades-old Indy tradition. American outlaws gather to root for the Circle City’s footie team, but also sip Guinness pints while eating American bar food such as wings, nachos, burgers, and pizzas. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, there are plenty of options, so you won’t feel you’re in the upper tiers behind the pillar." - Brian Garrido

I've only been here once, but I definitely don't feel any need to go back. Everything was mediocre, not terrible, but also not amazing. The parking lot is in the rear, which is not extremely easy to navigate to. Then you need to find the front door by walking past three doors, down an alley, and through the front-deck seating. If you're local, walking seems like a great option. If the weather is nice and the traffic is slow, I think the deck-seating would be nice. The service was ok. They were normal people at work. Nice enough when you had their attention but it is a pub that doesn't put an emphasis on connections. The food was not great. -Fish and chips had a good, unique breading texture (crunchy vs. crispy), but its overall flavor was just boring. -My expectations on the deep-dish pizza were probably too high. I thought that I was getting a Chicago-style, two-inch tall casserole of a pizza, but I received a Papa Murphys pizza with the outside two inches of crust just standing up and crunchy and dry. There was no depth to the actual pizza at all. It took 45 minutes to come out, and I was told it is the normal amount of time to expect. I didn't visit at a busy time of day. -Soft pretzels with cheese were disappointing as well. I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the cheese was not smooth. I don't want to say gritty, but it definitely had an unpleasant texture. Pretzels were nice though.

Love it here! They have many vegetarian options, which my husband and I usually get, and my teens loved their burgers. They had a turkey burger, and Cajun bacon cheese burger, and a Breaded chicken sandwich. Trivia Night is every Tuesday (I think $3 per person), and even if you don’t participate, it’s fun to answer the questions with your table.

Nice place! Exactly what one might think of when one thinks of a small British pub. No bangers and mash though, what's up with that? I had the personal pizza at the recommendation of the bartender and they were SPOT ON. It was excellent. Only weird ding was the bathroom door was in desperate need of repair. A minor inconvenience, but should be addressed. Good beer selection, roughly 20 taps and even more cans and bottles. They squeezed a lot of stuff into a little space.

Like most of the other reviews I've done have my gf and I have been trying to visit restaurants we have never been to or haven't had much for the letters of the alphabet and yesterday Union Jack's was for U. Start of by saying parking in this area was terrible. Not technically fault of the pub but had to mention it. From the time we walked in the vibe/atmosphere was great. We were immediately greeted by our waitress for the meal. We ordered pull pork nachos and I had chicken back ranch flatbread. Can't remember what she had. Everything tasted fresh and seemed well prepared and not rushes. Tasted great and would definitely recommend people check this place out. Food was amazing!.

First off let me say I love Union Jacks! But I was quite disappointed the last time I ordered! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and I’m now 47. Also let me say that this is the only time I’ve ever had a complaint, so that says a lot too! I was not happy with the last pizza I ordered, it was very skimpy, which is definitely not what a Union Jacks pizza usually is, this is the type of pizza you don’t need to order with extra cheese because it comes loaded! The pizza I received barely had any cheese or toppings, pretty much just the few pieces in the middle had toppings on it, but the rest was pretty much just crust and sauce. Not sure what happened, maybe it was someone new working, who knows, but nonetheless I was disappointed! I was really looking forward to it because things are pretty expensive nowadays, especially when ordering through DoorDash, so I don’t have money to just splurge on eating out a lot, and definitely don’t have money throw away! But I don’t think it’s fair to have one incident and get all bent out of shape about it, and that’s why I still gave 3 stars, instead of letting my frustration lead me to write a bad review! Hopefully this will not be what to expect in the future.

Google
Great place for vegans! We came here on a whim and it did not disappoint. We ordered the following which was 100% vegan…pickle fries with ranch, quinoa chili, impossible Philly cheesesteak, and buffalo seitan wings. Everything was amazing! We ended with the vegan carrot cake which was also very good! We cannot wait to come back and try their other vegan offerings. But, this place is not just for vegans, they have loads of carnivores options which I imagine are just as good as everything we had. Oh and did I mention the fun vibe of a British pub with chill music? Our server was absolutely wonderful too! We will be back for sure!!

I’ve been coming here for at least 2.5 years now since I work so close and I have never been so disappointed, until today. I come in once a week or so and get the same thing every time because it’s my favorite; My Chick Salad, crispy chicken, ranch and honey jalapeño dressing. Today the chicken tasted like the seasoning salt bottles top fell, it was saltier than the ocean. I couldn’t even finish it. I would have told my server/bartender about it, but she dropped my food and never came back to check on me. Mind you, I was 1 of 4 people in the whole entire place. I guess she was too busy talking with the 3 men sitting at the bar. This obviously made me even more mad. Once I couldn’t stomach any more of my salad and pushed it to the side, she finally came over a few minutes later to ask if I was okay. I decided not to say anything because if I did, it was going to be very mean, so I kept my mouth shut to avoid any confrontation. I probably won’t be back for a while. There are many other restaurants on the strip that I can choose from, but I miss the girls that used to work day shift. They were always so nice and great at their job.

Popped in while doing some day drinking with my wife. I can see why people would like this place. Good vibe especially if you like British stuff and futball! I had only one beer but it was good, bartender was very helpful. I just didn’t have any “wow” moments. I would def comeback to get this to a 5 star!

Yelp
Best pizza in Indianapolis. Been coming here every time I'm in town since college. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Probably the worst experience. I called a week ahead of time to make a reservation for 15 people to attend after a high school graduation. They said they don't normally take reservations but for a party that large they would be prepared for us when we arrived. Upon arrival I was told to talk to the bartender. She didn't know anything about my reservation and phone call. She said if she had taken the call she wouldn't have accepted the reservation. She said we could sit in the bar. Unfortunately we had under age in our party. She offered no solution. I suggested we could sit outside. After being seated I asked about management and was told each bartender acted as manager during their shifts. When I asked about someone higher up, they didn't know but would ask. Our server never came back and didn't provide the information. We left.

Yelp
My friend dragged me in here. As a vegetarian she often has limited choices and she loves the Saitan wings here and rates them very highly. I enjoyed the onion soup which wasn't bad at all and my drink was good too. The service is absolutely lacking and can only be described as grumpy and that is a very kind description. Food takes forever and there doesn't seem to be any rush on your drinks either. But if you need some comfort food, have lots of time, and don't mind being waited on by folks in a bad mood, this place will be fine.

Yelp
Dropped in here for a pit stop to avoid the traffic on the interstate and a refuel before heading south. The beer list is Phenomenal. The menu is eclectic in a Good Way. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a rhubarb and soda cocktail and a War Pigs brewery Cave of Dreams marzen along with a fried pickles appetizer with boom boom sauce to start. Surprisingly delicious and refreshing. I went with a vegan option of a BBQ pulled Jackfruit sandwich dressed with avocado slaw and a side of potato salad (seasonal option) for dinner and my navigator ordered a house specialty -- the Reuben sandwich with chips. All parties were happy by the time we hit the road. Service was good and ambiance was quaint. This has the feel of a bonafide watering hole with no attempts to be anything other than what it is -- the equivalent to ripped jeans and maybe a favorite concert t-shirt. Would happily return when I'm in the area in the future -- the stellar beer list is one of those that I dream about. (It also appears they have a food truck sitting in the back parking lot -- wish they'd head south to my neck of the woods someday!)

Yelp
I must catch myself from making a fatal error: comparing. Not to other restaurants, onion rings, ales, or tenderloins. Today I found myself comparing the game slate to past moments in this wonderful establishment. How unfair! I've stood far too close to a stranger and even my friends in this oasis of football. Smelling notes of beer on bated breath and the tantalizing delicacies of passing plates. How can one compare the 2022 World Cup Final to anything? My mistake! Union Jack is quiet when it's quiet and loud when it's loud. She's a pearl like that. Come for a USMNT game or UCL Final with every assumption you'll stand for two hours. Bring a few friends as barricade to the casuals who feel far too comfortable spewing commentator talk and wearing scarves indoors. All love, but once a woman told me that Josh Sargent was the ideal #9. For non-ball-knowers this is the equivalent of saying your local cover band are world class performers. Any other time, grab a seat and enjoy slightly overpriced food and drink that still makes you smile. I wolfed down a monumental portion of tenderloin and onion rings while watching my Drawbreaker bet once again draw. An abundant helping of mayonnaise and plenty-o-pickles were available for my tanned sandwich. Erotic. A wild thought - pitchers of something beyond Bud Light? Could be the move! Ultimately, two thumbs up for watching soccer here and that Cajun Pasta which offers consistent toast mopping opportunities. Spicy and creamy sauce gets all three points in my book. Union Jack you're a good biscuit. (cookie in American).

Yelp
Union Jack is a broad ripple staple!! It's got all the details that a local pub should have. We come here Tuesdays for trivia and it never disappoints. The staff is incredibly attentive and they will remember you if you come often. It's got a cozy, friendly feel. The only reasons I give 4 stars instead of 5 are because 1. the parking situation is pretty tiny and 2. I think they recently changed their fish and chips and they're not as good anymore.

Yelp
I so terribly miss the cozy Speedway Union Jack's. We patronized the pub for almost 40 years and decided to visit the next best thing, Union Jack's in Broadripple. Parking was a breeze, and we walked right in and sat at a high top table in the bar. There is lots of wood in the restaurant with a rustic decor. It isn't as warm and cozy as I remember when the restaurant was across the street. We were hungry and excited to try the food. A sign on the table said scan the QR Code for the menu, but we asked for real menus. Great selection of cold craft draft beer and full bar service with dine at the bar option. The music is at a level to have a nice conversation. The menu offers normal pub food with lots of vegan and vegetarian options throughout the menu. The menu covers appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, wraps, and sandwiches. The house specialties offer fish and chips, bayou pasta, grilled salmon, and queso mac & cheese. The desserts sounded good. I was excited to see Pizza from 7" personal pan to a 14" pizza. Your option of crust is traditional, thin, gluten-free, stuffed pizza pie and my favorite, Indy style deep dish. I can't wait to return for a deep dish pizza. My husband ordered the Italian beef sandwich with french fries and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Club with a grilled chicken breast topped with bacon and pepper jack cheese on a grilled brioche bread. My side was a cup of navy bean soup topped with cheese. The bean soup arrived as requested before the sandwich. The soup was extremely good, with a thick topping of melted cheese. I was disappointed with the dry, overcooked chicken breast and extremely crispy bacon. I feel like the bacon is my fault because I didn't specify no crispy bacon, and many people prefer extra crispy bacon. The dry chicken breast was overcooked to the point of no moisture. I know I should have returned and asked for a do-over, but we didn't have time, so I never mentioned it to our server. Our server was the bartender who was very friendly and personable. She checked on us often, refilled drinks, and checked us out timely. I will definitely return with friends to share a deep dish pizza I've been craving. I wish it was more comfortable with cushy booths, but we'll pick better seating on our next trip.

Yelp
I was here with part of a group event of 75 people and service was still top notch! Food came out quickly and staff were very friendly. I ordered... Heart shaped personal pan pizza ($12.50): for the month of February, the heart shaped personal pan pizza donates $1 to the Love, Broad Ripple nonprofit organization that supports small businesses in Broad Ripple. The pizza itself is fantastic! I would sure like to come back without a group event to see how the place is normally, but I would imagine the space is very relaxed with still very high quality service. Parking is available on the streets, or the nearest parking garage is the Broad Ripple garage by The Vogue. There is no private lot with the Union Jack, or at least not one that is very well marked.

Yelp
Service was great! Had the Impossible Philly sandwich, which was "impossible" to believe it was vegan. Nice portion and satisfying.

Yelp
Best soccer bar in Indy. Home of OLSC Indianapolis. Great beer selection. Scran pubfood.

Amanda M.

Yelp
I really love the patio here at Union Jack. I also really appreciated the gluten free options that were available this last time I went (pizza and buns). This is a great place to watch games, and is a really fun place with a group. The service team works hard, but could probably use some help - they always seem to be slightly understaffed when I am there.
google avatar

Lizz M.

Yelp
The fish and chips are an absolute must-try! I ordered the Italian beef sandwich, which was good, but I couldn't help regretting my choice after trying the fish and chips my boyfriend ordered. The Italian beef was decent, but the fish and chips stole the show. The breading was perfectly seasoned and crispy, making every bite irresistible. Compared to that, the Italian beef just didn't stand out. Next time, I'm definitely going for the fish and chips! This place gets busy and they have tvs to watch sports which is great. Service was on point and we enjoyed our time there.

Yelp
Union Jack Pub is mid. Not in a bad way though. It's just ok. That goes for the service and ambiance too. Ordered pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks and fries. Not worth a special trip, but a decent option.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
I tell everyone that Union Jack is by far the best place for a pint of Guinness in metro Indy. It's always poured perfectly and always tastes fresh. Others around town either don't pour correctly or their Guinness sits awhile cause it never tastes as good as hear. Recently tried the wings, they were delicious. The WeWhoo sauce was good and the wings were big and juicy. Definitely not your average bar wings. I'm so happy this place survived Covid then what seemed like endless construction on broadripple Ave. definitely one of our favorites and we always bring visitors here for a least a drink. Service is always prompt and friendly.

Yelp
Union Jack Pub has always been a Broad Ripple staple for me! Their deep dish pizza is so good! This time around I had a breaded tenderloin and a salad. The tenderloin had amazing breading. My son had the kids pizza and fries which were also delicious. Our server was kind and friendly. My only complaint (and this was my fault) was that the paper menu didn't have prices. My bill seemed way to high. When I got home I got online and saw the online menu did have prices. After totaling everything up, I believe I was maybe double charged for an extra kids meal or they had already included a tip. I couldn't tell because they use a machine instead of a paper receipt. Mistakes happen and it was my fault for not asking for a paper receipt or looking online while I was at the restaurant. Just something to be aware of. I'll still return. The pizza and tenderloin are too good to miss out on!!!

Janet B.

Yelp
Great pub to watch Premier League. Good beer selection. Menu is American with no English specialty's. Service was good and prices fair

Katie W.

Yelp
Bartender(Chris) is always drinking and doesn't pay attention to guests. It was my first time here and he was constantly asking for my number and making me uncomfortable. Is this a restaurant or a place to solicit sex from people who just want to eat?
google avatar

Andre P.

Yelp
I have to say I was disappointed with the pizza's we received from Union Jack Broadripple. They had so much sauce on them it was hard to taste anything else. We ordered a cheese pizza that you saw more red sauce on the pizza than cheese so the quantity of "cheese" needs to be looked at. Breadsticks are just frozen sticks I can get at walmart, nothing special there.
google avatar

Thomas P.

Yelp
A Broad Ripple institution is still going strong (although it did cross the street). Their deep dish pizza is still my favorite!
google avatar

Stacy J.

Yelp
First of all... PLEASE, GO SUPPORT BroadRipple businesses even with the construction that's been on going!!!! We went to dinner a little late, and still got great service! Kevin was our server, and he knew his menu and made great suggestions with food and beer. We had the Italian sausage pizza, a cheese pizza, and an order of buffalo wings. Plus a few beers. Food was great as always. Service was wonderful.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Just went back to Union Jack, they were playing a soccer match my husband had to watch...ok with me because we have some fantastic beers to try out and ordered a small pizza to split and it was delicious!! I have to say I love pizza and the crust, toppings cheese were a perfect ratio. We sat in the bar and our waitress was very attentive and had some great recommendations on beer. The cozy feeling of a pub on a cold gross day made everything better! And we may have stayed for and extra soccer game just to continue enjoying the coziness
google avatar

Phil B.

Yelp
Food much better this time around. Veg basket was fresh and the hummus was good. Needs at least one more flat bread round. One round cut into four pieces was kind of skimpy. My chicken fingers and fried were very good. The breading on the chicken was not too thick and had great flavor. Chicken was not dried out. Hot Sicilian was good. The side of cottage cheese had a funky off taste like it had gone bad. Server said it was the paprika. Paprika didn't make things taste spoiled. Other than the cottage cheese which he did replace with French fries. Everything was good. Service was good and the dining room seating area is much better and not as dark as the bar area.
google avatar

Patricia N.

Yelp
Best personal pan pizza with lots of cheese and homemade sauce! I visited outside in summer time and they had a fan outside with mist and bubbles blowing in the air.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Staff was unhelpful and the amount of fish for the price was a rip off. 1 piece of cod (small) for $14. The worst offense is the said it came with tartar sauce and served ranch instead. Yuck, hard pass on this.
google avatar

Victoria H.

Yelp
I'll start by saying our server was friendly and efficient. That was the best thing about our experience. This is supposed to be an " English Pub" but there was no evidence of Britain in the bar selections. No Scotch and only one mediocre Irish Whiskey. The food was forgettable and it was trivia night, so it was so noisy we couldn't talk. Overall, a bad experience.
google avatar

Janet F.

Yelp
We chose this to go today because we could get vegan and Omni food. I had the cup of vegan and chili which was superb, and the vegan Philly steak. The Philly steak was smaller in comparison to the real thing. It was lacking in amount of cheese and peppers and onion. There was adequate and flavorful impossible meat. Almost had my omni husband fooled. He had California wrap. His assessment was that it was fair. French fries were good.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Passing through Indy where I worked 40 years ago. I remembered the Broad Ripple neighborhood and Union Jacks as the best pizza I've ever had. We went for dinner and the pizza is still exceptional. The best ever ingredients and crust. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Kimmi M.

Yelp
Union Jack is not only an Indy staple, but a pillar of the community. Since new ownership in the 10s, everything that was lacking about UJP was suddenly fulfilled. Everyone on staff is very welcoming and ready to help with the massive drink list, and anyone working here deserves a medal for serving the footy crowds with grace and swiftness. The kitchen is consistently updating the menu with the times and running great specials. The favorites are all still here and made well. I'll always be indebted to UJP for getting me deeply into football. Arsenal, til I die!
google avatar

Devin B.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my meal at Union Jack! This is a local spot that's casual and cozy with good quality pub fare. There's a large beer, wine and cocktail selection with a good amount of non-alcoholic options as well (I opted for local kombucha). Our table shared an artichoke queso appetizer which was quickly eaten up in just a few minutes. I'd heard this place was a hidden gem for vegetarian options which can be hard to come by for classic bar food, and the menu did not disappoint! Instead of picking between a few typical options there were so many items that looked great to me. I ended up trying the Impossible Philly and it was delicious. Can't wait to add Union Jack to my regular Broad Rip restaurant rotation!
google avatar

Greg J.

Yelp
While I'll always enjoy the original across the street they still have a darn good pizza. The malted crust with that sweet Napa sauce with giant Italian sausage, oh boy! Enjoying the outdoor space overlooking the newly rehabilitated Avenue
google avatar

Lindsay T.

Yelp
One thing about me, if there are mini corn dogs on offer, I WILL be trying them. Union Jack's are freshly made and come with a great honey mustard. I love that they have so many vegan options - have the fish and chips a try because I've heard great things and never actually tried vegan "seafood." It was fine, didn't quite fill me up (hence the corn dogs) so I'd just get the real thing next time. Awesome Tuesday night trivia by Hambone's - it's $3 cash to play and they do fill up.
google avatar

Krista B.

Yelp
You've probably been to Union Jack...but have you been to Union Jack for 50 cent wings? Every Wednesday. All day. Bone-in, the good stuff that you can order in whatever quantity you desire. Our server was really nice and brought ranch, blue cheese, AND honey mustard dipping sauces to pair with the spicy garlic and Buffalo wings. Sit yourself out on the patio, grab a beer (or cider), and enjoy the people watching. One of the best and cheapest dates my partner and I have been on in a while! May just be a new Wednesday tradition!
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
Went to check out their new location which is across the street from the original location. I personally like the change, the inside has some of what I would consider their "staple" decor, but things have been updated and the interior has dark modern wood. They also now have a patio space and I can't wait for warm weather to really enjoy that. Our server was awesome, Sydney, attentive, friendly quick. I love to get strongbow whenever it's available, so that was my drink of choice, if you've never had it, give it a try. Crisp with mild sweetness! We all spilt the artichoke dip, it was delicious and came with garlic pita (got to keep Dracula at bay) as well as chips. For my main course I went with a half order of fish and chips, it was delicious, and didn't taste like something else from the frier, try it with vinegar! All around great experience and I can't wait to get back

Traci H.

Yelp
My hubby and I dined here about 2:00pm on a Saturday. It wasn't busy yet the tables weren't cleaned off and the bartender was super slow taking our order and refilling our drinks. We each got 2 drinks (I had 2 mixed drinks and he had 2 beers) he had fried pickles (an appetizer) and I got a 7" personal size pepperoni pizza. Our total was $67.00! Too expensive for slow service and just ok food. Nothing special at this place. Would not recommend
google avatar

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
Very nice server / bar person today for lunch with my vegan friend. We loved the menu identifying the vegan dishes. We both had the vegan bbq on a delicious bun. For appetizers we had the fried pickles with vegan ranch also had a side of fries. I recommend the sandwich & the fried pickles.....fries were not very good....greasy and no potato taste. We're very grateful for the vegan menu. Thank you to the person who made that decision.

Phil R.

Yelp
This was most phenomenal pizza we have EVER had! I normally douche my pizza with ranch but this pizza shines on its own and didn't need it! We ordered the Deluxe Traditional crust and it was to die for good! We've also had other items on their menu and everything we've tried was fantastic! Three Cheers to the Chefs! Service was awesome too!

Jane P.

Yelp
Waited an hr and half for our food. Our waiter was MIA. Once we got our food, pizza dough was raw and caused food poisoning.
google avatar

Olivia O.

Yelp
Recently checked out the new Union Jack location! I love the patio/deck on the front for an outdoor experience that the previous location did not have. It is a bit on the smaller side but still a classic! Our family usually goes for the sole purpose of ordering the stuffed pizza. If you haven't ordered it before I HIGHLY recommend. But be sure to order sooner rather than later as it takes about 45 minutes to make. We usually start with an appetizer and put in our pizza order. The pizza is not lying when they say it is stuffed. This is probably the only pizza I can truly only manage one slice of. Be prepared for leftovers! But it does also heat up well in the oven or air fryer if you have it.

Yelp
We hadn't been to JUP since they moved across the road. I felt the restaurant was still intimate and inviting, yet quite small. There were few tables of customers on a Saturday for lunch so the server was quite attentive. There was 4 of us. Two people ordered a burger with bacon and they really enjoyed them. My son ordered the club and enjoyed it other than too much mayo. I ordered the Italian beef. The Italian beef is a total failure and should be removed from the menu. The "beef " was cut thick and over cooked. It was dryyyy. If a restaurant isn't going to do a sandwich right, don't do it.

Yelp
I recently had an experience with Drew, and unfortunately, I must leave a 1-star review as I found him to be unhelpful and not responsive to my needs.

Yelp
Ordered from Door Dash and the arrived tasting amazing!! It was fresh, hot and tasted as if it was right there in the restaurant. So good!!!

Yelp
Union Jack is one of our go to pubs in the broad ripple area. It is always laid back and servers are super friendly. It's not usually as crowded as some of the other bars in broad ripple and they have an expansive food menu, with lots of vegan options. We haven't eaten much here, aside from a few appetizers that have all been good. Living their new location across the street too! The patio is going to be amazing this summer!

Yelp
We wanted to show some local love to one of our favorite local restaurants before the holidays, so we rallied with our neighbors to bring the Union Jack food truck to our neighborhood on a wintery Friday night. It was *awesome*. We emailed the restaurant to inquire about available dates and times and see a sample menu. We then shared it w/the neighborhood via our hood's Facebook page to make sure that there would be enough sales to meet the restaurant's minimum -- and after learning that folks were stoked about it we booked it over email! The owners Chelsey and Jay were great to work with! Because we have so many kids in the neighborhood we wanted to make sure there were take & bake pizza options on the menu, and they added it for us. Neighbors pre-ordered via the link provided by Union Jack and arrived at pic-up time to grab their food. It was an awesome way to support a local biz, build connection and camaraderie within our neighborhood, and have dinner taken care of on a Friday night! To sweeten the deal we bought a few extra gift cards and raffled them off via email to folks who ordered -- which can be used on their NEXT visit to Union Jack. See what we did there? Got 'em hooked! :) Our family's favorite menu items from their food truck are: Veggie wrap (FULL of veggies) Kids mini corn dogs Pork tenderloin (enough for a few meals, usually, but comes w/out lettuce & tomato just an FYI - they'd get soggy in a take-out box!)

I was part of a group carry out order. There were a number of people who enjoyed their food, but there were some who didn't. The Reuben went in the trash. Salad greens had freshness issues. I had a grilled tenderloin. It wasn't a tenderloin, as we know it as Hoosiers. It was a thin boneless pork chop. I guess, technically, from the loin. I'm doing low carb, so I tossed the bun, which hilariously dwarfed the "tenderloin." It's usually the other way around! Two stars because it made me nostalgic of my mom's fried hockey-puck-like pork chops.

Yelp
I was in the Broad Ripple area last night and decided to stop here for a nice sit down dinner. They have free parking behind the building along with street parking in the area (street parking you'd have to pay). They have plenty of indoor seating along with an outdoor patio. The outdoor patio is kid and animal friendly. The wait-staff were awesome-super friendly and accommodating. For an appetizer we ordered cheesy bacon fries which were delicious(absolutely smashed them). For my entree, I ordered a personal pan 7" build your own pizza so I did a Italian pesto, feta with green peppers and mushroom pizza. The pizza was very filling and tasty. I've never visited the pub before and I wish I had sooner cause it was super relaxing, had great food, and even better staff.

Yelp
Waitress was awful- she disappeared. The food took 55 minutes to come out. We literally had to ask her to check & she said "oh yeah!", as she had forgotten about our food. The Nachos came out soggy. I ordered a 2nd drink that never came, but it was on the bill. A bad experience, I don't recommend.

Yelp
This review is long over due. I've lived in Broad Ripple for a full year and finally need to confirm what others say that this place has awesome food! It has a ton of beers on draft too- including a ton of local options that rotate until the keg runs out. Recommendations: snack on the mini corn dogs. They are so pop-able and go great with a beer and I'd there is a sports game on. Also- buffalo chicken anything. In my latest visit I had the "My Chick" Salad and opted for breaded chicken (grilled is an option) tossed in buffalo sauce. But I would definitely get this in a wrap too! Sometimes the service is great, other times it's a bit slow- but guys, it's Covid times and we all understand.

Yelp
If you are going for American food or the atmosphere, it's a good neighborhood sports bar. However, despite the name, there's almost nothing British about it. If you can get past that, the prices are pretty reasonable for the area and there are plenty of tvs to watch games on.
