Union Square Holiday Market

It was very cozy and nice. I went around 7 pm, even though it was freezing outside the amount of people and shops around made it not too bad. The food options were amazing and I appreciated the price of most of the food stands. Definitely budget friendly. Only down side was the limited walking space so there was a lot of shoulder bumping but it was a pleasant experience overall! The displays were great as well. (Only putting 4 stars because of the limited walking space)

The Union Square Holiday Market is open during the holiday season. It usually starts in mid-November and brings joy to the city until Christmas Eve. More than 100 local artists and vendors display and sell food, drinks, treats, gifts, cards, souvenirs and more. It is open 7 days a week except Thanksgiving, from about 11 am to 8 pm, and closes early on Christmas Eve.

Union Square Holiday market was amazing. Artisans and craftsmen all around, each offering beautiful and unique art. I was so happy to come back and spend a day here.

The Union Square Holiday Market is a great place to grab a cup of hot chocolate! While the selection might be limited compared to other food options, you can definitely find some warming treats to enjoy while browsing the festive stalls.

Probably the most packed holiday market in the city. There’s a good amount of vendors and due to the layout, it gets hard to walk around because of the crowd. It’s probably less crowded on a weekday. The vendors have some good food and trinkets. It’s fun to explore and do some shopping for the holidays.

Nice fun market to walk around. Nice lighting and decorations. However it gets fairly crowded and is extremely expensive and not worth purchasing from.

They sell super stereotypical (arguably racist) depictions of black women at their holiday market. My wife (who is black) went to the market and was shocked by this stuff. She asked the operator of one of the stalls that was selling them (Teddies) to take them down but he said that he wouldn't. And before someone tells me that it is good to represent black women in different ways, let me assure you that this is not the way. These items are not decor, they are caricatures. It is hard to imagine a black woman buying items like this. In fact the operator said that he had similar items and that they sold, but not these ones. I wonder why... It's almost like black women don't want to buy caricatures of themselves. Think about someone selling similar items that display similarly stereotypical depictions of Jewish people. I doubt that those would continue being sold. Plus, I have trouble understanding how anyone could have considered it a good idea to sell caricatures of black women at a stall called monkey business. If this wasn't so serious, it would actually be comical. Please talk to the store owners to take these down!

Love the holiday market. I went at least 3xs. Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting NYC or just looking for something cool to do. I recommend the creme brulee baked sweet potato
