I just had HANDS DOWN the BEST grocery store experience of my 23 years on this planet!!! I literally left feeling like a queen, every staff member I interacted with was INSANELY kind and helpful. The fruit guy even let me sample any apple i wanted without prompt. He was just happy to help! The checkout guy helped me get signed up for rewards and the grocery bagger was kind and sweet as well!! I really commend the management team at this store, whatever they’re doing it’s having a direct positive impact on the way the team treats guests. And I truly felt like a guest 💛

Google
I love this united location.it has very wonderful amazing costumer service! The employees are very kind, except for earlier this week, this one worker her name tag I think said Ashlyn she was sadly very disrespectful I tried to have a nice conversation with her and she ignored me with half the thing I said And the when we got to my car she threw my bag in my trunk very crazy and had everything spilling out the bags and when I got home my eggs were broken from her aggressiveness of the throwing my bags( and I always check my eggs before placing them in my cart) but I would like to say I love this store very much and this is the ONLY bad experience I’ve had with the worker ashlyn

3 days ago, I overpaid for portobello mushroom caps. When I opened them at home tge same day as purchase, the underneath sides were so gross, there was slime, discoloration and a thick mucus. I went back to the same store today, even though I forgot my mushrooms to return, I went ahead to pick up a few things. Every single package of non organic raspberries in the produce section were ruined. Molded, soft and leaking juice and several packages had this weird black stuff on the berries. I don't live by this store, I drive from far south abilene as I feel market street is one of the worst stores for over pricing and mediocre products, also to avoid Mona, who likes to push her political views on guests. I probably won't make it back to take those $5 rotten mushrooms back. Check produce and expiration dates before purchasing from this chain. It's happened so many times that I've taken moldy bread, out of date bakery items and expired dairy products from these stores because I forgot to check. At least the staff at united on 14th are nice.

Have always had a good experience here even though the company as a whole is a bit more expensive compared to others.

Google
I like this grocery store. It's a lot more mellow than HEB. I've never had any issues with any of the products I've bought here, and the employees have always been great.

Google
I really like this store, the staff are friendly, but my complaint is we've bought food here 4 times now and then realized when we got home it was expired.

Google
Great prices on fresh meat! Friendly and helpful employees. Store!

Good clean store.... Just small. Prices aren't terribly competitive either.

Yelp
Eleven years ago. What? This United has always been my favorite. The staff goes overboard keeping it stocked and clean. Crystal is an excellent manager, and deserves all the recognition she gets. But the real reason I come here so much is the deli. The best sandwiches at the best price. The California Club is amazing! 10/10. The Philly cheesesteak is 8/10, and well worth getting. There are daily specials in the hot deli, and it's always crowded at lunch. Are you ready for a sandwich? Meet you there!

Yelp
Sweetest staff that always go the extra mile to help find the best deal or price for prescriptions. Definitely the best in Abilene when you merge the fresh produce, high quality food choices, and empathetic pharmacy staff. Always trusted. Best in the business.

Yelp
Shop S14th & Willis! The best! Pharmacy A+ Deli is always fresh and fast, menu specials change daily, Thursday try their chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, seasoned green beans and a choice of a roll or corn bread You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Nice to have a cafe and good produce. The check-out is friendly and you always get paper or plastic. The help to the car is great .

Yelp
I have been doing business with United Supermarkets for the better part of 10 Years. Wes Leake and Scott Attaway have been nothing but professional over that time. I will continue doing business with this company for years to come.

Yelp
I have never had the level of customer service that I have experienced at this grocery store. Yesterday I went shopping and apparently in the confusion at the checkout line a few of my bags got left behind....when I got home I THOUGHT I was missing a few items but chalked it up to me being silly and getting confused. Well, today the manager calls me after finding the bags and the receipt and looking up my rewards account and finding my phone number. They are holding my groceries for me. I am stunned. What an amazing store!

Yelp
I know what you must be thinking, what's he doing in a United Supermarket? This guy eats out all the time. Well don't worry, there lots of restaurants in town I've not been to. I got a call informing me of a cook out and need to pick up a few items, you know potato salad, chips odds and ends and of course BEER! Nice helpful staff assisted me in the search of the isles. Got all I needed. This is a good place to get your meat and fruit they looked very fresh.

Yelp
This is a review that should have been made a year ago, and will probably be edited and updated for months to come. First, this review is for the INSIDE DELI/RESTAURANT they have here. Not the rest of the grocery store. As far as I know, all prices are $6.99 and with that $7, you can get a cheese burger, a philly, brisket or club sandwich, all come with chips and a never ending refill of "sody water" as my grandpa calls it. Anyways, I'm staying fairly near this place and so I use this store more than any other in town, when it comes to grocery's, BUT, I also eat at this deli more than I do in my own kitchen. Anyways, back to the deli, I am hooked on their burgers and Philly cheesesteak, because it's a great mix of low price, and excellent food, that's always fresh, being a grocery store, you can say they probably have the freshest meat and produce out of any restaurant in Abilene. Now I'm rambling... get back on track. Yea ok, burgers, Philly cheesesteak, and oh yea, the California club is damn good, really fresh, and I will tell you, I'm a big dude, 6'3" and 220#'s, and $7 here, ALWAYS fills me full. I've never had a bad meal here. Now for the extra BS people always talk about: The cooks/staff here are all cool easy going folks, the dinning area is always clean, the restrooms are always nice and clean. And my fav part, it's NEVER crowded in here, except maybe around lunch time, think the people from the bank and other businesses across the street have lunch here. Anyways, that's all I'm going to ramble about here today. Until next time... Shop Local!

Yelp
I really love shopping here, the store is very clean, well stocked, excellent fruit items, kind and helpful staff and always willing to help out with the Americans with disabilities celebration.

Yelp
While I appreciate that your cashier Claudia at store #548 in Abilene,Texas today was very nice. Someone in a light blue shirt named Dorothy was rude yelling at me. Your lead Sabrina at the same mentioned store on February 17th was quite rude to me as well. Acted as though I was beneath her. I am always nice to people in customer service because I've worked that job before. I consider once a fluke but twice nope. You obviously have others at your store who treat others like they're better than anyone else. I know I'm an employee's wife but I am still a customer guess I don't count. I Don't care who someone is they should at least feel welcome at your store and I have not today and on the 17th of February.

Yelp
I wouldn't normally yelp a grocery store but I have to. As I continue my search for good sushi in A-town, this has got to be the best by far. It's crazy I know. Sushi at a grocery store. But I'm addicted. Some pros about the store.... People actually greet you/acknowledge your presence and are polite. The Sushi chef is always so friendly to me. He asks me if I want him to make me something special. I blush. hahaha The sushi is always good. I've only been disapointed once when I had some eel tempura something or the other. It was just not meshing well for me. Everything else is great. The fish tastes fresh and they often have a brown rice option. Nice!

Yelp
This is my go to store! I go to it all the time! Not as crowded as bigger stores but great selections on everything!! Friendly service, very nice people and easy peasy in and out! The staff really make this place such a wonderful experience - Thanks to all of you - you always make my day better when I chat with you!

Yelp
I shop at HEB because I like going late night and avoiding the crowds. That is very easily done at a 24 hour establishment. But in case of emergency and I need something during the day, this is where I go. There is ample parking, the store is sparkling clean, and the selction is not abundant; but they have always had everything that I have needed. I am not impressed by their meat selection and it seems like a lot of their meats are pre packaged and shipped in. I plan on spending twenty percent more when I come her as opposed to HEB...but I am willing to pay that price if I need some good during the day. They have a pretty nice selection of artisan breads. Management definitely plays a large role in this store as all of the staff members are extremely nice and the store is pristine. I curse a lot less here than I do at HEB.

Yelp
I do NOT understand what the fuss is all about UNITED supermarkets. The prices are higer than HEB and Walmart but the choices are NOT that better!!! Limited choice of vegetables and fruits that aren't always the best (as far as freshness and quantity). The limited space makes it hard to find a wide variety of items. And, the price makes me think that UNITED targets a poshy audience. If your grocery budget allows you to, why not go organic? You may pay more for less but at least you know ALL that you put in your mouth is healthy and good. When you are ready to check out, i have mixed feelings about the system. Specially since you have to ask for the "service" of delivery to the car. Bottom line, i am NOT a fan of UNITED.

Yelp
Let's talk Streetside pickup. The produce is the oldest and sometimes rotten produce in the store. I just threw away 4 bell peppers that were wrinkled broken and far from fresh that was meant to be part of our Thanksgiving meal. The cucumbers were the smallest available (priced per item not by the pound). The radishes were wilted. The green onion beginning to wilt. Streetside is a convenient way to force customers to purchase the items people in their right mind would never purchase. Never again. I have shopped at United for years. Never again. I would rather drive 2 hours each way and shop at H-E-B or do all my shopping at Costco. The short sightedness at United has cost them a customer. I imagine it will cost them many more.

Yelp
The downside: Woah! They stopped carrying the best cheddar ever - Herkimer Cheddar. No wild rice. No Van Camps New Orleans Style kidney beans. Haagen Daz ice cream selection is puny. Prices are very high. Would guess 1/3 of store content is high priced yuppy junk food trash - just who needs kale chips!!! Oooohhh an in store Starbucks - how 80s! It is absurd how much hard plastic packaging this store uses. A dozen types of Spam 7 and 30+ varieties of V8?!?! WTF people. Boars Head products abound - boooorrriiiinnnngggg. Did I mention hard plastic packaging used to excess. Chiantis out the wazoo - you would think that was all Italy made [Someone in the Albertsons corporate wine bidniz was scarred for life with the Aldo fiasco commercials of the 60s!] The upside: tho pricey better fresh produce selection with much being organic [not a word about GMO tho]. Nice olive and salad bars, bulk food section, and cheese selection. Nice bakery. Decent dairy product selection. Good wine selection is somewhat larger than Albertsons. OK beer selection. The woman who runs the wine store is quite knowledgeable - a good carryover from Albertsons. Changes needed: Bring back Herkimer cheddar cheese. Replace in store Starbucks with Gevalia. Quit using hard plastic containers - use those zip lock bags with real slider type zipper closure. Increase the beers available in the make your own six pack section. More Haagen Daz flavors. Fewer Ben & Jerry flavors. More Italian wines [back of boot has good wines, need some big Tuscans].

Yelp
We love the store itself. 5 stars on cleanliness and presentation. United is by far the best grocery shopping experience. You pay a little more but the experience is sometimes worth it in my opinion. They have very helpful and friendly staff that are always eager to assist should you have a question. I've experienced firsthand the kind and eager staff that will take you to what you're trying to find which is a stark contrast to the other guys who either have no one around to ask or are ignorant and/or indifferent to the whereabouts of things. The atmosphere is a refreshing alternative to the crowded, unorganized mess of the competitors. Wally World may have low prices but that trip for us eventually became so dreaded that it has become a place of the distant past. HEB will have things that all other stores just don't carry and is more affordable but you've got to get there early to miss the masses. Never go there at the first of the month. Pharmacy gets 1 star. This isn't really fair to the majority of the pharmacy staff because most all of them are helpful and friendly. We've used them for years. Unfortunately they have the most frustrating and rude young male pharmacist that I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. I hope someone reviews their social media and addresses the issue before he runs off several more customers. We are transferring all of our prescriptions to McCoys on Antilley. Their hours are not as flexible as United but the service cannot be beat. I refuse to continue to subject myself to another abhorrent encounter with this young man. We did notify the pharmacy staff after the initial incident hoping that it would be addressed and remedied but unfortunately had a similarly miserable experience upon the very next visit. Now that I've heard stories from other patients and even medical professionals, I've decided that the money I work for will be spent where it is deserved. To sum it up United is a very pleasant shopping experience. If you haven't ever been there you need to check it out. This one pharmacist however will keep me from ever recommending their pharmacy to anyone ever again.

Yelp
I went to lunch today and there was a gentleman named Ricky in the deli who went above and beyond in customer service. I wanted to sample the quiche they had all's they had was a whole pie he sliced it and let me buy just a slice for lunch. Everyone was extremely busy but he smiled and said yes he would cut a slice for thank you ricky !!!!!

Yelp
Costs a little more than Walmart, but the variety, and freshness of their meats and produce is great! Managers and employees were very friendly and readily available to help you find whatever you're looking for!

Yelp
I have to say I really like United supermarket, I came here a few nights ago for the first time after just shopping at HEB. Now I love HEB maybe not this particular one in town but I'm a huge fan and in fact I've worked for HEB for almost 5 years in Austin and in San Antonio as a Manager at the front end. Walking in a young girl greeted me now she wasn't a door greeter like they have at Walmart, no she was just walking by which I thought was nice. First thing I notice was their deli and the smell was just inviting. Then I slowing starting working my way to the produce ohhhh how I love their selections and everything was fresh and looked as though someone put them out with pride. I just walked around looking at what they had and comparing prices, I they have a good wine selection but so does HEB. They do carry other things that HEB doesn't carry which is nice, the price was a little more then HEB but some things were cheaper so it really depends on what you buy. The checkout lanes were kind of confusing at first but the checker was very helpful. Thank you United employees for helping my first experience that much better.

Yelp
Service upstairs was amazing, and have not had so many people at our table busy serving us! Think I counted 5 different people serving us, but one main person for drink/food service. Tried the oysters and other delights!

Yelp
I have shopped at this location for many years and will never go back. That is despite the fact that they have the friendliest produce workers and best produce generally in town. The cashiers are rude, intrusive and without equivocation, unprofessional. I have had several clashes with one specific cashier, who despite a conversation I had with her manager, still retains her job. The last time I was in their store was last week and after shopping discovered I had left my checkbook in my vehicle. Sales were inordinately slow, so I informed the cashier that I would be right back with my checkbook and she stated to me that she would watch my cart until I returned. I returned and she began to ring up my items and as I started to fill out my check, she said that the store could not accept checks at this time. I said, wait a minute, why did you not tell me that when I told you that I had left my checkbook in the car? She said, well, many people carry credit cards in their checkbooks and I assumed you would be able to pay by other means. There were no signs indicating that their check debiting capability was down and I can only assume that by saying that, her intent was to disrespect me. I likely had $70.00 worth of groceries, only had maybe $40.00 in cash and do not pay for groceries with a credit card. Bye Bye United, hello HEB.
