⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing Stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort! From the moment we arrived, Cabana Bay exceeded our expectations! The retro-themed resort is vibrant, clean, and incredibly fun for families or anyone looking to relax in style. The accommodations were spotless, comfortable, and well-designed—everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The lazy river was a highlight—super relaxing and beautifully maintained. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at the parks. Tubes are available for rent or purchase, and there’s plenty of space to float and enjoy the scenery. We also loved browsing the mall shop on-site. It had a great selection of souvenirs, snacks, and essentials—convenient and surprisingly well-stocked! What really made our stay special, though, was the friendliness of the staff. Every employee we interacted with was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely happy to assist. Whether it was at check-in, the food court, or around the pool area, the service was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back again. Thank you, Cabana Bay, for a memorable and relaxing stay!

Mu husband & I are Florida Resident UO Annual Passholders & we stayed at Cabana Bay Beach resort for our vacation 05/04-05/09/25 this year. Absolutely LOVE this place! All of the staff in all areas of the resort were absolutley wonderful & the whole resort was just gorgeous :)!||||We stayed in an Exterior Entry Pool Side Family Suite room # 1102 - fantastic location for pool & lobby. Room was in great shape & spotlessly clean & beds were super comfy as always. Love the shampoo & conditioner dispensers on the wall now! ||||Their gift shop is huge & has a wonderful variety of gifts & supplies. ||||We ate at the onsite restaurant the Bayliner Diner for the several of our meals & it was fantastic as always! Huge selection of great food at decent prices. Loved the fresh fruit bar addition at breakfast! ||||Do NOT miss Shakes Malt Shop! I love getting to have ice cream every day on vacation & theirs is fantastic & very generous portions.||||We love hanging out near the slide pool by our room & we were so glad the head pounding blasting music that was there last time was gone. Very much enjoyed the lovely "oldies" music that fits the hotel theme :)||||Transportation to the parks is via Universal busses & takes maybe 5-10 minutes to the legacy parks & about 15 minutes to the new EPIC Universe park. There was always a bus waiting every time both going & coming to all of the the parks. Terrific bus service!||||This was our fourth stay at Cabana Bay & we love it more every time :) Can't recommend enough & can't wait to come back!

Our summer vacation in Orlando!! We stayed here for 4 nights, arriving on a Wednesday morning. We purchased shuttle service to the resort from the airport. Thankfully, upon arriving, we were able to check in immediately. We had a pool view room in the Americana building. We could also see Volcano Bay from our room as well. ||Rooms were nice. They have two pool areas, bowling, stores, and dining hall with several options. We were thankful for the dining hall in the morning, plenty of selections before we went to the parks. We saw the Gru character one night in the lobby. Busses were also available to go between the parks and resort. We never really waited more than 10 min on a bus. ||I really only have one complaint. The first day we arrived, we went to the pool and needed more towels for the next morning. I called that evening, and they were supposed to send towels, but none came. We called again early the next morning, and there are still no towels. After we got back from the park that day, I called again and told them no towels had arrived, and this was my 3rd try. The person I spoke to put me on hold. Apparently, there was some technical issue, and they'd send them right away, and they did come about 10 min later. She apologized for the error...all is well. *After that, I just grabbed some from the cart if I saw it in the hall! Lol. ||Overall, it was a great stay. I'd stay at Cabana Bay again as it was a cool hotel. It seemed very popular as our bus was always full, more than I saw other resort busses.

We’re on day 3 of our stay in a 2-bedroom family suite at Cabana Bay, and our room has been unbearably hot and humid (75–80 degrees) the entire time. We were told the AC uses motion sensors and just needed time to cool, but it’s been days, engineering has already been here, and it’s still miserable with two units constantly running and no improvement. We’ve asked multiple times to be moved. The front desk says we’re in the biggest suite and they have nowhere to move us — yet their own website shows 12 available rooms. Why not split us into two smaller ones? That hasn’t even been offered. We’re losing park time waiting around for a resolution, and no one seems to care. Other issues: • Beds and furniture are VERY uncomfortable, sheets feel and look like scratchy curtains. • Housekeeping never came, despite being told they come every other day — we had to go to the pool for fresh towels and request trash pickup ourselves • small dressers and nowhere to hang clothes or towels (no hooks or closets) • Our “water park view” is actually a view of a maintenance building — completely misleading On their own, maybe some of these issues would be manageable. But combined with the discomfort from the lack of properly working AC, lack of responsiveness it’s hard not to feel like we’ve been completely taken advantage of. We spent over $12,000 on this trip for hotel and park tickets, and instead of relaxing, we’re sweating in a poorly cooled room, being ignored by the front desk, and handling basic services ourselves. Don’t make the same mistake I did by ignoring the bad reviews, they are absolutely true.

We've stayed here multiple times. The resort is awesome, food on site is pretty good and affordable, lazy river is amazing. We have had some issues getting room service, cleaning & trash pick up, but it's not always slow. Front desk service and other staff have been great every time. Right next to Volcano bay with a special entrance that's a 5 min walk.

The hotel had a great theme and the dining area was great. The cafeteria food was very good and not too overpriced. It was priced for a resort. The refillable cups were an amazing deal. The free transportation to the parks was wonderful. We had one issue with the room that was promptly taken care of. The text option to talk to guest services was easy and efficient. It was also great to take pictures with characters in the hotel. The free luggage service and ship items from park to hotel worked great and is much appreciated. The tube purchase and swap for a closed one is a great system. I loved being able to charge my credit card with the room key. We were extremely happy with our whole experience.

Smack dab in the middle of the Universal parks. Easy access to the parks, amazing view of nightly fireworks show. Expect a retro atmosphere and rooms but was clean and large. Lobby was huge with activities, but had an amazing retro feel. Got door dash while there, the driver could not find me and sent a picture of where they we at, a valet worker looked at the picture and without hesitation ran and grabbed my food for me. Absolutely friendly and amazing staff.

The hotel is in a state of disrepair that I would not expect from an entity using the “resort” title, much less a building in the Universal family. My room smelled of mold, had staining and signs of calcium buildup, damaged paint and the main light switch didn’t turn on any lights. The shower pressure was lacking and the provided in-room soap and shampoo options were cheap and of poor quality. The bed was damaged and angled to one side, forcing me to sleep on the alternate bed against my preference. The Coca-cola system in the cafeteria was poorly executed and frustrating to engage with. I found myself with a defective cup that wouldn’t register with the system but when I tried a second machine, I was on a time lockout and unable to fill my cup until the lockout ended. Despite the fact that I didn’t fill it in the first place. I also didn’t receive a room until 5-6 hours after my arrival, despite requesting early check in several days before my trip. No concierge offered to hold my baggage and I had to inquire about that myself after more than 2 hours of waiting in the lobby to see if I would get my room. The cashiers at the cafeteria were not quite rude, but they were far from friendly when asked for assistance or to help answer questions. I did not feel welcomed or valued by the resort, its staff, or facilities, and will not stay on that property again. Initially I was excited to have a great stay and recommend future family vacations at Cabana Bay with children and other family, but after this experience, sadly I won’t disappoint them like that.

Yelp
When visiting Universal Orlando, it makes sense to stay at one of their hotels if you want to be allowed into the parks an hour early. There are shuttles right outside the hotel that take guests back and forth between the hotel and the park. Check-in was super easy. Each guest gets a keycard with movie characters on it. They're willing to accommodate and give you whichever movie character you want on it. I reserved a standard 2 bed queen room through the Universal Orlando website. I thought the room was quite nice, with distinct areas for living room/kitchen, bedroom, and a separate room for toilet and shower. There's a sliding door that separates the bedroom from the living room. The kitchen has a mini fridge in case you want to keep beverages cool. You can even order groceries from Instacart and have it delivered to the hotel. You'll have to meet the shopper in the lobby. The room definitely has a retro vibe with Zest soap and VO5 shampoo. Wifi worked reasonably well. The only annoying thing is that if someone is watching the TV in the living room, sometimes the remote control can turn on the TV in the bedroom too. There are a few places to eat in the hotel. There's a food court called the Bayliner Diner where you can get pizza, sandwiches, etc. If you're an annual pass holder, you can request a discount when paying at the register. There's also a small restaurant on the second floor inside the bowling alley. Reservations are required. There's also a milk shake shop near the Bayliner Diner and a Starbucks. Outside by the pool is another small diner called The Hideaway. I thought The Hideaway was the best in terms of food quality and price. Don't forget to get your annual pass holder discount on food here. On the second floor of the hotel is a bowling alley. There's also a large gym. There is a pool and lazy river outside. It's the only Universal resort in the area with a lazy river. You have to use your keycard to access the pool and lazy river. If you purchase a pool float here, you can exchange it for a brand new one to bring home. Annual pass holders get a discount on the pool float. The hotel has a Vacation Planning Center where you can pick up your park passes. It's located next to the check-in desk. There are kiosks where you can pick up your park passes as well when the Vacation Planning Center is closed, but I was unable to use it successfully. As a guest at the Universal hotels, you can also buy things in shops in the park and have them delivered to your hotel room instead of carrying them around. There is a gift shop inside the hotel as well in case you missed anything in the park. Overall, I thought the hotel was a decent deal. The only thing that would make it better is if there were better food options.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel right next to universal studios. Done in a 1950s theme and colors. Orange blue white and yellow. It was dark so I didn't get to get pictures of the pool area. They have a Starbucks a bar and a large diner. They also have a ice cream and malt shop. All the floors are terrazza which I think are pretty cool. For New Year's Eve 2025 I had a big party we had several balloon twisters and face painters. A lot of the people were local send it was a great party time!

Yelp
Close to the park with regular shuttles was nice. The major downside was being able to hear every conversation in the rooms next to and above ours in addition to being woken up at all hours with guests in the hallways doors slamming shut. The guests above us rearranged furniture until 1 am scrapping the floors with their stools for who knows why but it kept us up all night long. The internal bathroom door also slammed whenever we used it and we could hear every time other guests flushed their toilets. Bed sheets were scratchy. Pullout couch had a thin mattress and it felt like sleeping on metal bars. It was close to the park and came with early-access passes as well as a regular shuttle which was nice. Room delivery pizza was good but took about an hour. Pack your own bath products there was only soap and shampoo. Starbucks was in the lobby and it was quick, a great morning grab before heading to the park to make the most of the day. Early access is crowded, get to the bus before 7:30 am.

Yelp
This hotel really fit what I think a "resort" is supposed to be, i.e., tons of amenities to take advantage of. My vacation plans usually revolve around activities I leave the hotel to do, but after staying here, I feel like I could also enjoy a more resort-heavy vacation with a lot of time doing things in the resort. AMENITIES: There are 2 pool areas, a bowling alley, a large gym and large arcade, multiple dining options and a Starbucks...and I'm probably missing more lol. Each pool area has its own pool, hot tub, and dining/beverage option, and 1 also has a lazy river to boot. The lazy river and at least 1 of the pools is heated; I did not have a chance to confirm that the other pool is too (but I would guess that it is because people were in it while it was fairly cold out). The bowling alley has 10 lanes and time has to be reserved online. CHECK-IN: We had arrived around noon and the check-in line was long and incredibly slow-moving, so we ended up dropping off our luggage in the lobby and coming back later to try again. It was the right choice because there was no line when we came back around 2, and they were able to send us straight up to a room. The employee was nice enough to give us a choice between a few of the buildings and floors which was very much appreciated, as we preferred to stay close to the lobby. We learned that some of the reasons check-in takes some time is because they confirm your guest names in order to print your hotel keys on the spot (which are also used for early entry into the parks) and provide a helpful overview of the hotel map, amenities and their hours, etc. ROOMS: It is a HUGE resort with 7 buildings, so their room numbers actually start with the building number, followed by the floor and room numbers. The room we had in the Americana building was very spacious and had the most outlets in a hotel room that I have ever encountered. SOME EARLY ENTRY TIPS: If your goal is to be one of the first to enter the parks and you can walk quickly, I recommend taking a rideshare to City Walk and going through security at the far end nearer the parking lot over using the walking path and going through security at the end closer to the park entrances. This is mainly because it looked like there was a long and slow, single file security line from the walking path when I passed it, which tells me that unless you are one of the first few in that line (and I do not know how early you would need to get there to be first), you are not getting ahead of a lot of folks coming from the other end of City Walk once security opens at 7:00 a.m. For additional context, we visited the week of Thanksgiving, got in the security line around 6:50 and were second in line there. Also, we did not run. We did not take a hotel shuttle because the first one was scheduled for 7:00 and that was too late for us lol.

Yelp
We are staying from Sunday to Saturday. They told me they were going to do housekeeping every other day. They have done it only once on Tuesday . They should have done it Thursday again, they didn't do it. And we have told them to do it on Friday, 5:30 pm they haven't do it.

Yelp
It was my first time staying here at Cabana Bay and I enjoyed it. They offer several different and affordable dining options, which I find to be really convenient. They have the Bayliner Diner, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then they also have a poolside restaurants at each of their two pools, and a malt/milkshake shop. The amenities at the hotel are really nice. They offer two pools, jacuzzi, lazy river, and a fun water slide. I loved both pools, but preferred the one with the slide. The lazy river was a little too lazy the day I was there, and a friend who has stayed many times before said it can be hit or miss, with some days the river being faster and some days being very slow. They also offer a full sized bowling alley, gym, several bars, and of course a souvenir shop. The room was good sized and comfortable. Bedding and pillows were good. One thing I have noticed about Universal resorts is that they do not offer an actual blanket/ comforter. At least this is the case at Surfside, Dockside, and here at Cabana Bay. I thought maybe given the higher price tag to stay at Cabana Bay would mean I'd get a real comforter, but no. Just an extra sheet. Lol. You get two sheets and a thin, light cover. At Dockside you only get one sheet and the light cover. Lol. Not sure how much you have to pay a night to get a comforter. Maybe it's to help ease the environmental impact? If so, I wouldn't mind that, but they should advertise that is their goal. Anyway, the staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful. Parking is a whopping $23 plus tax, coming out to about $25 a night. A little rich for my blood. You think you've found a good rate but after taxes and fees, you end up paying about $50 more a night than your initial room rate. Overall, a lovely property and I might consider staying again for a special occasion or something, but the price will mostly keep me away unfortunately.

Yelp
Recently, myself, husband and a couple friends stayed two nights here for my birthday. We loved it! Retro modern decor down to every detail! A beautifully appointed resort- from their lobby to their large cafeteria and their 2 beautiful pool areas! One pool features a waterside and even a kids play area. The other has a lazy river which we loved. Towel towers are plentiful around each pool area and you can purchase floats for the lazy river. Both pool areas had a bar/restaurant flanking them as well. They also had shaded cabanas you could reserve- not necessary as their is plenty of space to lounge. As for safety? A lot of lifeguards stationed all around the pool areas. Our only dislike? It was that all their dining options were more like snack bars. Pizzas, burgers or sandwiches- nothing very upscale or "fine" dining. We felt this resort could really use that option. Overall an amazing experience here. We will definitely be booking here again in the future!

Yelp
I've stayed here twice over the last few years. It has a charming atmosphere with all the atomic architecture and furnishings. I haven't come with kids, but as adults we found enough things to do on the days we didn't have park entry. Getting around can be a little confusing, so be sure to pay attention to the map they give you!

Yelp
This hotel is retro style with quiet rooms and great features . It was very clean, lots of towels ,a blow dryer, iron and full size ironing board , coffee , a small refrigerator , two TVs -one in the sitting room combo kitchen area and one in the bedroom. It also has a microwave , coffee maker and utensils , plates and cups, bar stools at breakfast bar. I had two queen beds with a large bathroom where the toilet and shower are divided by another area to get ready and bedroom has a large closet ..I was very impressed with the entire room and nostalgia with the Alberto VO5 shampoo and conditioner and the zest bar soap !! It even had an old style alarm clock too!Lots of restaurants to choose from, nice pools and walk to Volcano Bay or the hotels and parks across the street with the garden style pathway over the busy street ...i will definitely be staying again! the parking lot was packed and i saw lots of people but i was impressed how quiet it was , especially being so close to the highway too!

Yelp
Stayed for 6 nights at cabana Bay resort. It's a resort above the value hotel from universal hotel but not a deluxe. It's kind of sit in its own category. There's a lot of amenities on this hotel and you see the family feeling of this hotel. The resort is big, there's a lot of room and you can get lost easily at first. The lobby is pretty big and is home to a small bar with a singer/musician some nights. Next to the lobby is the gift shop and the Starbuck. After that, you get I to the bayline dîner which is a big cafeteria style diner with seating on the other side. I wasn't blowned away by the food taste and quality. Our first meal was the pizza and alfredo pasta and both were subpar. We tried a breakfast and it was ok. I've seen worst hotel food but I've also seen a lot better. The room I got was in tower 8 beachside. On the map, it's the upper tower on the left. Perk of this location is its close to volcano bay (the pathway is right next to the other tower south of there). But it's very far from lobby and shuttle bus. The room itself is very spacious. It's in fact the biggest I had on universal property (tried universal and Loews royal Pacific). It was a standard 2 queen bed room. It has a small fridge, a safe, a tv and a small table with 2 chair. Theres 2 pillow, ultra soft and ultra hard, which for me was a miss. On the ultra soft my head would sink to the mattress waking me with a big neck pain and on the hard pillow, it would result in the samething but because of now my neck being bent upward. Like many hotel, the soundproof door has 2 problem. One, it close automatically with a very big boom waking up the whole floor each time it close. The other problem is there's no sweeper meaning a lot of light and sound bleed from under the door, randering the soundproofing totally useless. The other problem are the outside gate. I don't know why, all gate leading to this tower have a hard close leading to a very hard opening and very very hard close. Weirdly, the pool one have a soft close. This mean that from my 8th floor, I hear everytime someone goes through these gate. Another thing is the vents and toilet. The ventilation randomly does a swoosh sound like if something was injected in the air and the toilet randomly do little flushing noise (while flushing nothing, it's like if the tank was filling up). It's just little thing but still useless noise. The bathroom is a bit weird. It's a standing glass shower with the toilet. So if you need to use the toilet while someone shower, you share the same very small space. Water drip out of the shower also from the door and if you open the bathroom door, you can nearly not get out of the shower nor the toilet. There's also no working fan. One day, we've been to the beach and the room was very humidity for 3 day until the AC properly removed all of the humidity. The ac can be set down to 66c with fan to low, medium or auto. High was blocked. There is a milkshake bar with lots of offering. There is also a bowling dining on the second floor next to the fitness center. You must reserve online to either dine or bowl. Outside, there is 2 pools. One have slide the other have a lazy river. For the lazy river, you can rent a tube for 8$ for a child and 14$ for an adult. Remember, rent! That's very pricey to simply rent a tube. It should be included to be honest, specially with the small size of the lazy river. At each pools, there's a little outside snack bar with different offering. For transportation to CityWalk /park, you have 2 options. You can walk the garden way, about 20-30 minutes walk or you can use the shuttle. There's a bus nearly each 5 minutes and it's less then a 10 minutes drive. For volcano bay, you simy walk to it, it's a 2 minutes walk. You can also walk the garden path to the resort in front (Sapphire falls and aventura). Although there's nothing at aventura, Sapphire have great offerings and also a boat ride to the park (normally reserved to Sapphire guest). When you come back via shuttle bus, you can hope onto any of the 4 bus. You have cabana Bay bus at the door, then volcano bay which is a 5 minutes walk. You can also take aventura or Sapphire Falls shuttle bus and use the garden path to cabana Bay (about 10-15 minutes walk). Laundry room use either coins (to validate) or app and cost 3$ a load. All in all, so far, it's my best stay at a universal hotel in terms of sleep even with the bad pillow. I do like the Royal Pacific but I can't justify the price. I might try Sapphire next year or come back here.

Yelp
Another good trip, full so didn't get to check in until after the park. They did honor my preferred location which was nice. Great service, good food options (get to Starbucks early), and love the poolside food options- make for an easy night dinner after the parks. Chicken avocado wrap- super fresh and great flavor chicken/tender. Pizza was also good. Bar drinks, if you hold onto your cup you get $4 off and they are good with the amount of alcohol. Pool is nice but can get crowded. Recommend the pool facing outside entry suites. Great kitchen area and space with a divider.

Yelp
I highly recommend booking your stay at Cabana Bay Resort at Universal. Cabana Bay offers a lot of activities for kids to enjoy when they're not at the parks, including an arcade, two pools, bowling alley and they gym is amazing . If you don't feel like leaving the hotel to get food, the dining area offers a wide selection of options to choose from. The customer service is amazing, and we didn't have to wait long to check in.

Yelp
Cabana Bay is a Prime Value resort on the Universal Studios property. It is a big resort with lots of family-friendly amenities. Included in the cost of your room is access to 2 swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, a lazy river (tubes are available for rent), a bowling alley (for an additional cost), a food court, a Starbucks, lounges, a milkshake shop, and a gift shop. Your cost also includes Universal bus transportation to the parks as well as a garden walking path to the parks. The staff is wonderful, the facility is clean, and the rooms are decorated in a fun, retro way. Our family stayed in a suite as well as a regular room. The rooms are snug. We had 4 adults in the suite and it was a tight squeeze. I could see how it would be a better fit for 2 adults and 2 kids. BUT, for the price and all the amenities, it is a wonderful bang for your buck place to stay for your Universal vacation!

Yelp
To say I was happy visiting this resort is an understatement. I have wanted to visit Universal Cabana Bay Beach resort for years and years. I was given a surprise gift, the tower rooms overlooking Volcano Bay water theme park. These fantastic views were 10/10, and made for amazing people watching from the room. The hotel has bowling, tropical cocktails, a lazy river, numerous quick service places to get food, a Starbucks and more. I will be back!

Yelp
First let me say that we had 2 adjoining suites, very expensive. The front desk staff and the bartenders were wonderful. The food in the main food court was reasonably priced but some of it was barely edible. Our major complaint with the property, which will prevent us from ever returning, was housekeeping. Not only did they not clean daily they missed a couple days in our 7 night stay, did not take the trash out, refused to attend to our requests and told us to call the front desk for any needs. The linens were only changed one time during our stay. There were 10 people in our 2 suites and they left 4 towels. We have to grab towels from the pool as our bath towels. Hey Universal.....Disney is NOT like this at their resorts.

Yelp
Booked our Universal/ Disney World trip last year on November 29th for a special Birthday celebration! We decided to book through Costco Travel as IYKYK kinda deal! We love our money back and the great customer service we always receive when we book our vacations trips through Costco. We booked a WHOLE package that included flights, hotel, park hopper tickets, volcano bay entry and vehicle rental. We booked 2 standard rooms both with double beds, room 1 for all the kiddos and room 2 for adults. We requested made special room requests and were all accommodated. Extra towels, extra sheets and close to Volcano Bag gate and pool! Let's start off by saying we ALWAYS stay on property when visiting Universal Studios Orlando or Disney. No other way we'd do big trips like this. We had a fenomenal 1 week stay! Beautiful spacious clean rooms with spectacular views of Volcano Bay. Amazing staff on site! Very pleasant and friendly ALWAYS! Steps away from shuttles to theme parks, 2 hour early entry for guests. Lots of dining options on property which is very convenient when traveling with kiddos. We love the breakfast at the diner and were easily in love with their milkshake and malt location on property. Also, there is a full operating Starbucks downstairs! So so in love! Bar at the pool was my takeaway lol! Hot tub nights with a Mai Tai cocktail in hand. (My vacation fulfilled) We did rent a Jeep during our stay and let's just say Parking was incredibly convenient. I believe parking was $20 a day. Park tickets were printed on Cabana Bay property and we were able to add express passes to all of our tickets to skip lines! This hotel has amazing amenities including a large lazy river and a bowling alley/Arcade for kids and adults when taking breaks from parks. We recommend you stay here for an amazing time and making the most out of your trip.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at the Cabana Bay Resort. Our room was an outdoor entrance and overlooked the one swimming pool. The room itself was a good size for our family. The little kitchenette area was perfect for our snacks and water. All the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved both pools and I enjoyed the lazy river. Such beautiful scenery all around. The staff kept the pool area clean. We ate at the dining hall almost every evening. There were plenty of selections and our kids loved the pizza! The shuttle to and from Universal was wonderful. Such a nice amenity that the resort offered. This was one of our most relaxing vacations and we would definitely book a room here again!

Yelp
I came here for my annual trip to Universal. This will be my second time staying at this hotel. The first time I stayed in the tower and this time I stayed in the part that kinda looks like a motel. I suppose that's where their suites are. I'm not gonna lie. I was very skeptical when they said I was over there but the man that checked me in said my room was upgraded to a family suite so I didn't want to be negative. He was very pleasant to deal with. We joked around and I was sent on my way. What I find cool about this hotel is that they print your name on your keys with some type of theme that's at Universal and islands of adventure. It has lots of great features like a food hall, Starbucks, bowling alley, and two pools both being heated, one being a lazy river. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It was a nice size and clean. The pillows were a little small, but I requested more so no biggie. This room had the toilet separated from the wash area which I liked and a small kitchenette and living space. My only issues for this trip was parking was a disaster with literally nowhere to park in the gate being hard to operate most of the time. Also, on the first day, my heat wasn't working and it was freezing outside but two hours later it was fixed. Lastly, I had to call someone about the safe, which didn't work fully, Someone was able to come and help me get my stuff out but I didn't use it after that. I did enjoy my stay. The bed was comfortable and housekeeping kept it tidy everyone I came in contact with were pleasant and professional, and at the Starbucks location here they make your drinks with love at least for me.

Yelp
Horrible experience, 45 minutes spent at check in, old outdated buildings, our first room had little cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom, we had to move to a different one. I would not recommend, there are better properties in the area

Yelp
We enjoyed a lot about this hotel and would stay here again. I'd especially recommend it for families that plan splitting their trip between Universal and Disney as this is an affordable option. We stayed here and the other part of our vacation at a Disney deluxe resort, so it worked out great. I believe value for dollar here is much better spent than Disney deluxe. Pros: -Included transport to City Walk, Parks and walking distance with private entrance to Volcano Bay -Cafeteria with great affordable food and nice variety -Huge pool with kiddie area -Affordable family suites priced competitively to other resorts in the area -Gift shop with many classic Universal souvenirs -Check in is late, but they can sometimes accommodate a bit early -Starbucks on site -Bowling on site -fun and comfortable atmosphere -universal vacations ticket desk in lobby Cons: -Room facing parking lot -Massive student groups from all over -Gift shop is over priced for basic products -No free upgrades -Wide open lobby, not very intimate or cozy -Nowhere for families with young children to lounge while waiting for room or before/after check out -Need more hotel staff to be present -Hotel felt very over crowded and chaotic -some of the staff seemed a little odd or burned out -Very long lines for check in

Yelp
Ok did a universal studios trip so Cabana Bay Resort is a Universal property with perks. Beautiful hotel made to look like the 1950s especially the decor. Great for families and the hotel has lot to offer. We stayed in the new tower which is beachside overlooking volcano bay waterpark. Spectacular views. Great for families , lots of pools, places to eat, bowling and much more. Check it out and there are some great deals if you look.. Front desk is a bit slow and let me say be patient I noticed that on the reviews. Rooms are clean and spacious. Go have fun.

Yelp
I was here for a week for a work conference. They didn't have my original room available at checkin so! They upgraded me to a family suite! The family suite was perfect! I wish I had my family with me! There was plenty of cutlery in the kitchen area... the kitchen had a nice sized fridge, a microwave, a bar area to sit at and a sink! There was also plastic plates and bowls provided! Perfect!!! I was right outside the pool- perfect areas for talking on the phone at night and enjoying the lit up signs of the buildings! The places to eat were awesome! The diner had different food options and there was a Starbucks and! A dessert spot which had different flavors- my favorite was the banana cream! I am ready to actually bring my family back here! Their customer service was the best! They gave you a text messaging feature and I was able to ask any question I had through there and they answered right away! The wi-fi in my room sucked. Other than that.... It was lovely!

Yelp
Looking for a fun-filled family getaway? Look no further than Cabana Bay Resort! It exceeded my expectations and offered so much more than I thought it would. Despite mixed reviews, it was a fantastic choice! The resort pool with a slide was the icing on the cake, providing endless entertainment for the kids. And after a day of exploring Universal Studios, we were able to return to the resort and unwind in total comfort. The hotel provides limitless towels for your room and even supplies them at the parks, so you don't need to worry about packing your own. There are plenty of options for those who aren't thrill-seekers, and the free shuttle service to and from the parks makes everything easily accessible. With so much to do and see, you'll never be bored!

Yelp
Love this Universal property as a hotel option. Likes: The property has a great variety of options for dining. They have a Starbucks, a milkshake bar and a few other dining and drink options. The lobby bar is nice and the pool bar in convenient with a great variety of tropical drink options. Rooms are always clean and we had an excellent view of the pool and the fireworks this time being on the 11th floor. The property is expansive and therefore you can be put into 1 of 4 sections of this hotel. Has a shuttle bus that takes you to the parks. Dislikes: The pool umbrella situation was our biggest frustration. It is Florida so obviously shade is at a premium at the pool with the blistering heat. More than half of the pool umbrellas were closed because they were missing the pins to hold the umbrella open. We eventually waiting until another group left to take their spot that had an already open umbrella. Check-in process. They gave us the wrong room and the wrong key. After we tried to open our room and the key continuously did not work, we then had to walk all the way back to the lobby to try and get it sorted. Which is a long walk from the tower we were staying in. We had actually driven there from the lobby. The girl there was new, very untrained and looked like she was ready to break down in tears by the mere mention of a problem. Once it was resolved it turned out they had given us the wrong room number next door.

Yelp
Buyer beware! We were ROBBED at Universal Cabana Bay! we left our bags securely in our rooms, joining our family down by the pool when we returned to our room, Our personal bags had been rummaged through and cash was stolen! We gave the security team before and after pictures with timestamps of our personal bags and they have done nothing! What a disappointing experience !

Yelp
I'm a history buff and I'm not sure the general public know how well this resort replicates the mid century style at this lovely hotel. It reminds me of all the old hotels in Wildwood NJ, also North Beach in Miami Beach where we would do staycations when I was a kid. This resort somehow captures bits and pieces of that feeling with its attention to detail. I love the aesthetic of the 1950s and I've stayed here a number of times and it's just impressive to me. Is it bit kitschy and at times corny? Absolutely, I always have a great time here, the rooms could be a bit larger but there's a whole lot to do at the resort and it's all very visual. BTW, if you are hungry I recommend driving around for food; I would say the food at Cabana Bay wasn't that great. Think frozen pizza and chicken fingers and some other options which aren't too desirable. That's my only issue here. Everything else is fantastic ! I'll be back !

Yelp
Locked out of room for over an hour, they said door battery was dead, moldy pillows. Only offered replacement pillows and hung up on by front desk. 1000% dissatisfied and DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Yelp
Cabana Bay was a complete disappointment!!! Rooms were never cleaned. Called desk several times and the finally sent someone after two days a dirty room. Pool area had tons on dirty towels all around the deck area and no one cleaned up. Debris was on deck which I twisted my ankle on. Mangers were disorganized and failed to properly over see the staff. Extremely disappointed and expected much better. With all the other options I'll stay elsewhere next trip

Yelp
Our Stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort was Awesome! - from check in, Luggage, to gift shops and Food. We had a pool view family suite at Castaway building. Room was Great. Microwave, Refrigerator, to sofa & Chairs and a walk- in closet. the Property was beautiful and quick walk to Water shuttles across the street. Volcano Bay is next door! The Bayliner Diner had a lot of different options and had Pizza delivered to the room 2 nights. Pizza was really Good! The Pools were amazing, open until 10pm. The pool staff were great. Plenty of Towels. Housekeeping was great. On Our pool day off, we went to Atomic Tonic & Grill. The Bartenders at Atomic - Cody, Bradley, & Cole were amazing. Great Customer service, Great Drinks & Friendly, they made our Pool Day exceptional. Thank you, Cabana Bay, for a wonderful Vacation!

Yelp
Yellow my fellow Yelpers! I just arrived to Orlando. My first time here. It's a great hotel. Reasonable price. Very attentive staff. I love the beachy, 60's vibe that it exudes. It's a nice, family-friendly ambiance for all to come. The room is comfortable. The cafeteria food is good. I was surprised when I tasted the Brazilian churrasco, with curried cauliflower and spiced chimichurri sauce. I recommend to pack plenty of clothes, specifically shorts and tank tops. Sandals should be included. Sunblock, sunglasses and a hat is a must as well.

Yelp
-clean -pool was at a pleasant temperature -nice food court area -decent amount of parking -they need to fix the exit to the parking ramp. The exit lane was backed up due to the censor not recognizing the guests trying to badge out

Yelp
Depending on how long you're visiting Universal, Cabana Bay is a great option. I'd say it's worth it for a longer stay, but maybe not for a shorter sprint. There are many pros and cons. Pros: - Only resort walkable to Volcano Bay. If you aren't doing a 3-park pass and visiting the water park, this is a moot point. - Mid-tier prices - Early park admission (comes with all Universal resorts) - Fast/Free shuttles (comes with all Universal resorts) - Friendly service and helpful luggage handling Cons: - Linens, towels, and soap/shampoo were of the absolute lowest quality. - This may not be for all rooms, but ours had literal trash on the floor when we moved in. Lots of plastic tags from clothing and miscellaneous other small items were spread throughout the carpet. - Coffee in the rooms is absolutely not worth drinking. It's a single serve Cuisinart situation that I thought would be nice after my red-eye and it was just nasty. - The resort is a massive 8 buildings. We stayed in one of the furthest buildings (Beachside) so it was a bit of a hike to get there. This hotel also does not come with the Express passes, meanwhile all of the higher level resorts do. That's why I say this hotel is worth it for a long stay where you might not be in a rush. But if you're only visiting for a day or two, it's likely more worth it to splurge on one of the nicer hotels. We also arrived incredibly early for our reservation. We showed up around 8 am after our red eye, but Cabana Bay was prepared for this with a locker room for folks to change in and an efficient luggage counter to hold our bags. With this system, we were easily able to freshen up and head out to the parks right away even though our room wasn't ready. I'm sure some rooms have beautiful views, but we were on the second floor facing a wall. Which is fine, honestly we preferred the quiet and privacy anyway.

Yelp
Cabana Bay is a giant of a resort, and a tough review in my opinion. I'm giving 4 stars, but would put it more accurately somewhere between 3 & 4. The 50s and 60s feel and theming of the resort is well done. From the gym, the bowling alley, the dining areas and the lobby, you feel what they were going for and it works. I didn't have the chance to use the lazy river or pools, but they were clearly very popular, and if you had kids would be a great place to spend some time. The room I had was a little smaller than expected, and the theming helped make the room feel a little dated or dingy in places. I was on the first floor, and the room had floor to ceiling window facing the parking lot which meant there was almost no opportunity to open the curtains. A little more thought into having some sort of split curtains or a way to better get in light without opening the room to full view of the sidewalk and parking would have been nice. Being on the Universal properties with easy access to the busses, walking, or hopping on the water taxis is an obvious plus to the location. One frustrating part to the location of this resort is that it is right across the street to two other resorts and their dining and access to different transportation, but there is no crossing at the resort entrance intersection. There are signs directing you all the way to an overpass at the end of the property. Clearly, many people cross at the light regardless. I knew Cabana bay was a large resort, but once arriving, the scale of it was still a little surprising as I wandered around the property. After looking around some other resorts while I was there, Cabana Bay definitely has a much more open, busy feel than others. Depending on how long you'll be there, whether or not you have kids, or your overall vibe, this could or could not be impactful to your stay.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE - they have bedbugs‼ Just checked out of Cabana Bay on 6/26 and it is the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel or motel anywhere. We stayed in the tower with a volcano view, which was neat - but at what cost??? Knowing what I know now you couldn't PAY me to stay there again. I was invited as an influencer on a brand trip to market the hotel and not only did we find bedbugs, but the situation was handled so poorly. We were moved rooms but they couldn't get us another accessible room (I'm a wheelchair user). Security guard took my statement around 1:00 am and didn't even bring a luggage cart to assist us - two disabled guests - in moving rooms. After getting zero sleep, in order to safely make the drive home, we needed to extended our stay/rebook for a single night to rest beforehand. The front desk agent and supervisor were beyond unhelpful and told us to go online and book something ourselves. Got a call a day later that the specialized pest control team said our room was positive for bedbugs. No advice on what to do our what costs would be paid by the hotel when treating or replacing our things. They didn't assist with heat treating our laundry or belongings either. Just offered a lackluster apology and a free 2 night stay - which... why would I want that??? LOL. The way an influencer is treated is the best way you can expect a guest to be treated, SO with that being said - I cannot reccomend staying away from CBBR more unless you want bedbugs and nonexistent customer service. Save yourself and go to Disney!!

Yelp
It's a resort hotel, so keep that in mind. The staff was friendly and helpful. A+ The parking situation is convenient. Not free, but easy in and out. A The waterpark/pool area is cool, but they charge you for tubes at the lazy river. I've been to a lot of hotels with lazy rivers and have never been charged. That was a bummer. The hot tubs were always packed too. Other than that, the kids liked the pool. B- The room was great. Little living room with pull out bed. Double beds. Toilet separated from shower area. Fun theme and deco. A Price. Great considering it is a resort hotel. A Overall, this is our spot when visiting universal.

Yelp
Pests! In! My! Bed! There were a lot of things wrong with my stay, but when I noticed my son itching constantly one day, I became immediately concerned as he is allergic to bugs, pests, and insects of varying variety. Sure enough, when I pulled the bed coverings off, there were pests hopping around. I called my mother who works for the FL state health dept and she advised me to take pics and leave the room immediately. I thought they looked like fleas, my mother thought they looked like bedbugs- either way, it's disgusting. I had to heat treat all my things in their dryers because CB wouldn't offer the service until they confirmed bedbugs, which would be another day. They gave me a new room, but thats null and void if you dont treat my stuff, I'm just bringing the bugs with me. The manager tried to tell me they dont travel room to room- uhhh, sir, how do you think the bugs got in the room to begin with?? Another manager tried to tell me she hasn't heard of bedbugs happening there, after the employee I talked to previously all but confirmed it was a problem, and to his credit, seemed just as annoyed as I was with the situation. Not to mention, a review went up online from a woman who had an almost identical situation as me THE NIGHT BEFORE me. The female manager i first spoke with was rude, unaffected, and unhelpful. She also told me I couldnt contact Loews corporate office because they dont deal with their own resorts and she wouldn't give me the contact info- not a problem, I found it myself. Cabana Bay did very little to remedy the situation aside telling me that anything they could potentially do would have to wait until they called their third party pest control people to "investigate". I " credited" me $150, but my credit card company confirmed no credit has been applied to my account. I cut my trip short and left a day early. I'm currently in Savannah, GA, at a renovated mid century MOTEL that has better amenities, toiletries, and accommodations than Cabana Bay RESORT! On top of that, I was traveling with my moderately disabled son, who sometimes uses a mobility aide to get around due to a rare genetic blood disorder that can leave him feeling weak and fatigued after light activity. The bus staff was horrific to him. The hotel said they'd address it, I highly doubt they will. The resort was in disrepair. Dirty, dingy rooms. Room keys that didn't work, broken gates, strong smell of marijuana all throughout the family suite section, dirty floors and furniture in the rooms, no real bedding, just sheets and a filthy coverlet. Room service never came, despite requesting they come 4 or 5 times. Room phone didnt work. Its very rundown and very dirty, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised about the pests. I also keep getting charges even though I checked out early. I will absolutely never stay at a Loews hotel again.

Yelp
This is my favorite universal hotel by far. The only thing holding this place back is the lack of in park line perks you'd get at the portifino, hard rock, and royal pacific. But you get a good room, really cool pools which there are two that are really fun and a splash pad for the really little ones and other options. I've stayed at Disney, Gaylord palms, and the royal pacific, and a few Orlando area hotels and when I say this is my favorite I am not lying

Yelp
Live music in the lobby? Fancy! I LOVE this resort SO SO much!!! Clean, affordable, and friendly. I love the theming of this resort. From the classic, cool old cars out front to the cool little malt shop on the far side of the cafeteria. This resort is ever evolving and changing and it does so gor the better. There is a cool fireplace to gather around when it's cold out and a lazy river/pool to chill out in when it's hot. There's even a bowlingalley!!! I love this place. It is family friendly and it is a local favorite. Come check it out!

Yelp
We've been here at this amazing hotel three times before and absolutely loved it. This time around I feel like things are slacking here. JULY 2023. The beach chairs at all of the pools look totally old and gross and rundown. No one really cares about the quality of your stay. You have to wait an hour to even check in at the front desk or even ask them any questions, you still have to wait in that same line which takes over an hour to get up to the front desk. (their system was down for a few days when we checked in so I had to go back there to put our names and credit cards on the hotel keys so that we could charge things back to our room. Some of the great things include buying your refillable souvenir cup for the week for just $19. You can refill it every seven minutes so if you want to share with someone you just have to wait that amount of time to pour it into another cup to get another drink from the Coca-Cola machine. The entrées in the Bayview diner are actually quite delicious and they give really big portions. I recommend the international dining line, where you can get steak and beans and rice or jerk chicken or shrimp and it's only like $15 and it's a top chef quality meal. We stayed here thinking we could get into the Universal parks early at 8 AM but for some reason they're not allowing that at the universal studios park at this time. You can only get in early at islands of adventure and volcano bay. On Saturday & Sunday the pools were jam packed! And of course, everyone saves their chair with just one towel and literally no one is actually sitting on any of these chairs, but somehow they're all being "saved" with just a towel laying on them. They don't clean up the pool areas at all until the very end of the day, so there's trash all over the place until the pool closes at the end of the day. They used to have a DJ and kids activities at the pool before....no more. Not even on Saturdays or Sundays. The characters (like Minions or Trolls) only appear in the lobby for a couple hours on Friday night. It just doesn't feel like the same type of quality that all of the Disney resort hotels give to you ....even the cheaper ones. BUT my family and I do love the old Timey 1950 / 1960 cartoons and commercials that they show on the big screens in the Bayview diner. And I love the 1950s, 60s, 70s music they blast everywhere ....giving it this really cool vintage vibe. Here's another tip! If you have kids who love peanut butter and jelly, they literally give out these free, JIF peanut butter packets and free Smuckers strawberry jam. And then you can just buy the toast for $.95 cents to make your kid a (practically free) peanut butter and jelly. So we take the good with the bad. Lol.

Yelp
Hotel was clean and front desk staff was super helpful. Decor was very similar to Pop Century at Disney. It is very big though and our room was about as far from the lobby as you could get. It was a loooong walk. Proximity to Volcano Bay was nice. We literally walked right into the park. Overall it was just a good hotel, nothing super exciting.

Yelp
Very happy with my stay here. Finally, an Orlando hotel with water that is clear and doesn't smell like sulfur. I stayed in Building 7 (this means that your four digit room number starts with a 7). The room was spacious, quiet, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The pool was nice and the quality of the food at Bayliner Dinner was excellent (had a half chicken that was huge and a basil leaf that was the size of my hand). They have plenty of staff at the front desk and the use of the luggage storage room was convenient. Shuttle service every 7 mins or so to Universal. Pricing was what you might expect at these types of theme-park resorts with parking costing $18/day.

Yelp
Check-in was very friendly and helpful. It was my first time there. They have a lot of amenities 2 pools, a lazy river, and movies at night just to name a few. We had a couple hiccups but over all was a good experience. The thing I didn't like is that they allow smoking in the pool area. There are a lot of food options in the food court and it was pretty good and the portions were generous but expensive for sure. The room I'd give a 4 out of 5 for cleanliness.

Yelp
This hotel really dives into the 50s theme and is here for you if med century modern is your aesthetic. A couple pool, bowling alley, food hall. Starbucks, pool quick service and a couple bars. The room with the view is worth it to wake up and see the volcano bay volcano. We've been here for my wife's birthday for the last two years and had a great time. With that august heat bearing down and the feels like at 105, the only thing you want to do is be in the water and it's very accommodating. The hotel food is decent and better than most of the others I've had. There's a decent amount of variety to choose from your standard burger fries to Brazilian chimmichurri to jerk chicken salad ect. Starbucks in resort makes that morning coffee run all the easier. A bowling alley with a bar (reserve early as it fills up) service is a little slow, but they are working on it. The pool is a little crowded but it's what you expect with people in vacation. The real perk here is getting into the water park and hour early which gives you a chance to get on a few of the more sought after rides and beat the crowd. A few bars. Are the drinks the best? no but they are passable in most cases for a hotel bar. Overall it's a pretty good hotel. The most important parts are it's clean, there's a variety of things to do. You can spend the day with your kids and have a break from the parks and still be happy 4/5 would recommend to a friend.

Yelp
I've only stayed at two of Universals resorts so far. Cabana Bay and Hard Rock. I gotta say, Cabana Bay is probably one of my favorite resorts in all of Orlando! The theme, food, amenities, pools, beach location everything is top Notch and worth the price. It is my go to for over nights when going to events like Halloween Horror Nights. Rooms are on the smaller side, but have everything you need. Has I believe two pools, walking to Volcano Bay and Citywalk or Bus service.
google avatar

Yelp
One of our favorite resorts in Orlando! They always make us feel welcomed and staff is always incredibly friendly. The location is amazing and complimentary buses are great if you're planning on going to CityWalk or any of the Universal Parks. It's also walking distance to Volcano bay so it's very convenient if that's what you're planning on doing as well There are plenty of places to eat and many choices to pick from. I do wish they'd had more low carb/ no sugar added items but other than that food options are great here

Yelp
Horrible experience. Room had dog feces stains on the carpet, tv was broken. Beware music starts blaring at 9am if you're trying to sleep in. If you're lucky they will comp your parking and give you a whited out snack voucher... oh and even half off one nights horrible stay. Never again! They love the word sorry.. and excuses. No need for sorry or excuses when your hotel experience is enjoyable and clean!!! Definitely won't be back. We won't be renewing our annual passes.

Yelp
The pool lifeguard was an adult man making inappropriate comments to my 17 year old daughter. When she informed him of her age in an attempt to get him to leave her alone, he just responded "come see me in a few months then" This is a family resort. One people pay a lot of money to attend, to have my child harassed by an adult who is employed there and is responsible for the safety of children is infuriating. We also saw him call several other women "beautiful", some of which seemed to immediately leave the pool because they were uncomfortable.

Yelp
* Make sure you try the Brazilian steak its amazing! We got it multiple times absolutely delicious! * We got a Family Suite. Total of 6 people. They only had 5 pillows in the room and we flew here from Chicago so we didn't have pillows with us. We called the front desk and they told us that the hotel was completely out of pillows. So we had to order pillows from Walmart. * The locks on the gate to get into the pool. You need to use your room key card to unlock it. IT NEVER WORKS! Never opens! It's the most frustrating thing. * The cleanliness of the room and resort is just ehh. The bathroom was not very clean when we got our room. Make sure you read reviews before checking into the hotel. *If you order groceries they will not hold them at the desk in the lobby you need to be standing there.
