I don't know what has changed in morale or overall morals but UMC nurse and doctor staff of the ICU and ER are wonderful!! I have never seen such amazing care. Sophia is a champaign in what she does in the ER. The entire staff have been accommodating, kind, understanding, and they listen. Not just to my dad, but to me too. I am so impressed and have never seen this level of care at this hospital before. Thank you for the improvements and thank you for all you have done to save my dad's life.

After multiple care now clinics, I decided to have my mom be seen at UMC. The ER crew Maria RN was amazing making sure we are updated with every tests every steps needed. Making sure my mom was comfortable. ER residents and student were great. Best in Las Vegas!!!! Would not hesitate to take my mom to this hospital.

Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. I went to the adult emergency room for pelvic bleeding and did my labs, but it took almost two hours before any doctor or nurse said a word to me. It wasn’t until I said I wanted to leave AMA that anyone suddenly showed concern—they immediately started talking to me and took me for another test. After my ultrasound, I waited another hour with no communication from anyone. When I went to discharge to sign out AMA, they told me to speak to the nurses across the hall. I asked a red-haired nurse about leaving AMA, and she just laughed and said, “Not me,” in a rude tone. I honestly felt like no one cared about me or what I was going through. The lack of communication made me feel ignored and unimportant, especially while I was scared and in pain. The only person who showed any kindness was the nurse who checked my vitals when I first arrived. Communication and compassion matter—especially when a patient is vulnerable and worried about their health.

I received both a call and a text from UMC saying they were trying to locate family for a male patient. The message identified the sender as a medical social worker from UMC. Since the call came directly from the hospital’s number, I was understandably worried that it might involve someone I know, so I called back right away to get more information. When I wasn’t able to reach the social worker, I called the hospital directly using the same number that had contacted me. When someone finally answered, the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive. I calmly explained that I had just received a call from UMC about a patient and was trying to understand what was going on. Her only response was, “I’m unsure who called you. Don’t know. Can’t help.” No attempt to transfer me, take my name, or show basic concern. This level of behavior is completely unacceptable especially in a hospital setting, where callers are often anxious, scared, and seeking answers about loved ones. The lack of empathy and professionalism I experienced was alarming. UMC should take this feedback seriously and ensure their staff are properly trained in professional communication, active listening, and compassion. No one calling a hospital in good faith should ever be treated with such disregard.

I fell and broke my hip 9/18 at 5pm. Upon arrival at the trauma center, within 10 minutes I saw a nurse and a doctor. I was wearing a rather expensive gown, and the ER nurse was able to remove that gown without cutting it off. Truly a caring nurse and so capable. I didn't believe they could do that, and not put me in additional pain. I wish I had her name. She is special! Almost immediately they were taking xrays. It took a couple of hours before I was assigned a room, but even in ER I was well taken care of, and pain meds dispensed to keep me as comfortable as possible. The orthopedic surgical team came in and interviewed me, in preparation for surgery the next day. In fact, 13 hours later, 6 am, I was in surgery having an anterior left hip replacement. The medical staff on the 4th floor West room 410-2 was amazing. I loved all my RNs and CNAs. I am so sorry I am unable to name them, but they took terrific care of me. Meds on time, they allowed me to participate in my care, and were absolutely so helpful and professional. In a hospital with announcements at least once every 45 minutes of some kind of medical code, medical emergency, etc, I have no idea how they balanced it all, but they did! Terrific care. Oh, in addition, the food was well prepared and tasty. Although I was not up to eating much, it was not due to the food. I enjoyed it all, albeit small bites. Thank you all for your great care.

At first I was concerned with some of the reviews I read. But was glad when one said don't go by those bad reviews. I went in today with an open mind and I'm glad I did. I had a very pleasant experience. Front office workers were very friendly and nice. Sara was very helpful and the other receptionist I think her name was Nell was very nice. I had read reports about Tanya Walker but I found her to be very nice not rude like other reviews said. She dealt with most of my issues and concerns which were a lot. She showed very much patience and took her time with me. I had originally wanted to see her and I'm glad i did.The office was very nice and clean. It was a very good visit. I will be returning.

I recently had my baby at UMC. The personnel was amazing. Super friendly and attentive. My experience was more than I could hope for. I had a complicated delivery and they literally saved my life and they continue to care for my baby in the NICU. I am so glad I chose UMC in the decision to expand my family.

I came here thinking I was doing the right thing because I had been throwing up for nine hours straight unable to hold food down unable to hold water down. My body was actively crashing. I was checked into the emergency room and I wasn’t started treatment on until four hours later and that was only because my boyfriend advocated for me and grabbed a nurse from the main lobby, letting them know that I was actively passing out in their care. It felt like the most dystopian experience of my life - like I just entered an emergency room in a Third World country. That’s how bad my experience was. The hospital was extremely dirty. They had me laying on a dirty sheet with dried up blood on it. I had to constantly beg the nurses to start treatment on me. I had to threaten them several times that I was leaving, and I wanted to refund because they were refusing to help me after I put a deposit down. They were reading out people’s diagnosis and a huge hallway with 30 other patients so everyone that was in the hallway I found out what they were diagnosed with, which quite frankly was none of my business and neither was what I was diagnosed with their business. I wasn’t offered to be taken into a back room to have my diagnosis read off. They decided to read it out in front of everyone.. read the reviews and take them seriously!!! I will never step foot back into this hospital again how I was treated was very unfairly and just watching how everyone else was treated was absolutely Disgusting. If you have health insurance shit, even if you don’t have health insurance, go anywhere else please do not go to this hospital. I was there for roughly 8 hours and all they did was give me one bag of IV and nausea medication that’s Literally all they did… and somehow I was there for 8 hours. I would recommend a lot more people look into talking to a lawyer because a lot of the practice is going on at this hospital are illegal. The photo I’m pairing is from if bruising I had the IV on July 19 & this bruising is from July 23.
