Went to the Smith Center for the UNC Duke basketball game. UNC won on a 3 point shot by Seth Trimble. Pregame there was a good luck message from Drake Maye. I am still celebrating.

We visited the UNC campus as tourists, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A supremely well manicured and well maintained campus with a number of buildings that are couple of hundred years old. You can just walk randomly and still take in a lot of the campus, but it is even better if you have someone who knows the campus and can tell you why to take a sip of water at the fountain or a bit of history of the Old West building. We recommend the Coker Arboretum, a calming oasis with some excellent fauna (tiger lilies!).

Academics are decent, not outstanding. Student body quite rude and stuck up. Faculty do not give proper guidance and support. Not worth it for out of state students.

My family and I walked the campus on Thanksgiving day, what a beautiful campus especially in the fall. So many cool looking buildings, places to sit outside. I would visit again just to look around again.

Always a great day to be a Tar Heel <3 thankful for all the mems and people I met during my time at unc. Parking & transportation is awful tho, I hope to see it improve one day. Game days are always the best especially when we beat Duke. Will never forget rushing Franklin, springtime at quad and more. I’m so grateful for the full ride and I look forward to giving back someday. 🩵

No, UNC isn't perfect, but I'm giving it five stars on Yelp because, objectively speaking, it's still a great school and one of the biggest and most-recognized brands when it comes to universities (academics) and college athletics. There's no denying that. I have an interesting relationship with UNC. I was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina. My parents went to Wake, so I grew up a Demon Deacon fan. I was in the minority, starting in elementary school, because most of the other kids cheered for Carolina and Duke. In middle school, I became a member of the ABC Club - Anybody But Carolina. A lot of my high school friends and classmates went on to attend UNC. I went to Georgia Tech and settled in Atlanta. Fast-forward about 15 years and my wife matched into her ophthalmology residency at UNC. We moved away from Atlanta and spent the last four years of our lives in Chapel Hill, so my wife could slave away as a resident physician for UNC Health. For her, it was the most difficult and grueling years of her life. For me, I used it as an opportunity to explore Chapel Hill - mainly the businesses on and around Franklin Street - and go to Carolina men's basketball and football games when they played Georgia Tech. As expected, we beat Carolina in football, even when they were ranked and favored, and lost to Carolina in basketball. It was a lot of fun to attend the games at Kenan Stadium and the Dean Dome. I do have to mention I was at the last men's basketball game between Tech and Carolina on January 30, 2024 in Atlanta. Tech upset Carolina, then ranked No. 3 in the country, 74-73. UNC has a beautiful campus and the Town of Chapel Hill is a great college town. Generally speaking, in this regard, I think UNC is a model university for the classic American college experience. It seems to have it all and is more well rounded than, say, Georgia Tech, which is heavily research and engineering focused (not as typical a college experience, in my opinion). After spending four years in Chapel Hill and getting to know a part of the UNC community, mainly through my wife's program, I've softened on Carolina. I do admit I was very proud of my wife as soon as I learned that she matched into UNC's ophthalmology residency (Kittner Eye Center). Funny enough though, my wife still rooted for Georgia Tech over North Carolina and still does to this day. I successfully brainwashed her. Aside from certain things related to her work - much due to the broken US healthcare system, not necessarily specific to UNC or UNC Health - we leave UNC with nothing but good memories.

Visiting college campuses is one of my favorite things to do. While in the research triangle, visiting UNC Chapel Hill was a no brainer. The campus was gorgeous and made for a lovely evening stroll. The book store is awesome as well. I know this university is top notch for academics too. Make sure to visit.

This was a nice campus that we visited walked around took pictures with got the walk down there close to the field. We had a good time at the University of North Carolina, but always go cards.

The University of North Carolina Campus at Chapel Hill is absolutely beautiful. There's so many sports activities going on I can't get bored. Coming from NYC I find the Chapel Hill business section quaint. The school spirit is inspiring. It's a great educational institution to visit if you are looking for a place to continue your education. I find the campus clean and everyone has been friendly. I have a few friends that are graduates. I'd be biased if I said they provide a good education! The graduates I know are successful in life and comfortable financially. I love to visit college campuses. I'm recommending you visit if you get the opportunity. Don't forget to get some cool souvenirs!

Great school, and the school is in a great location. Love NC. The buildings are close by. Shopping and housing is close

The hospital is nice as well as staff however the reason it only gets a3 start is because of the constant conflicting information you get the doctors and the fact you never see the same doctor twice. For example: the very first day before my mom was ever evaluated they started about comfort care, after a week of being in the hospital she actually did need hospice. The doctor was asked if my mother would just starve to death and the doctor said no, once the feeding tube was out she would get something to curve her appetite so she would not feel hunger, but when the nurse was ask about it after 3 days I found out she was not getting anything to curve her appetite. So in fact starving after already previously be kept from food and water 5 days in preparation for heart surgery, which they decided not to give her. One example of the many conflicting stories from different people. And they wondered why she was so weak.

Great School and I have great friends from the dental school there. I also went to basketball camp there for a week when I was younger. Beautiful campus and my grandfather got his law degree there. Higy recommend it!

I am very impressed with the campus at Chapel Hill for more reasons than I even expected. First, going in and out can be tricky with only a few ways in and some streets that are tricky to maneuver. That may be the one downside to campus. When they are not in session, it may be easier, but with students, cars and a massive hospital system all around, it can be difficult to get around. Once you are in 1. Walk through the parks. The natural beauty is truly breathtaking 2. The cleanliness of the campus. Just wow 3. Spirit. On game day, most schools have a tailgate area: Not UNC. They set up shop anywhere - outside of houses, dorms, library, parks, courtyards, etc... They party all over campus 4. Concentrated. Don't get me wrong, this is a big big campus, but it is very concentrated so you truly can make a day out of it and see most of the campus 5. Incredible architecture. This school is over 200 years old and the history of the buildings shows off well Make a day of it. Make a weekend of us. Feel like a college student all over again.

Ahhhh, UNC in lovely Chapel Hill, what can I say? I only spent two years here but that short period of time convinced me to leave my beloved San Francisco and re-start my life here in North Carolina. Now what sort of spell could be laid to persuade me to settle out here? Many reasons my friend, read on... * The oldest (est. 1789) and one of the finest public universities with a world class academic staff and hospital system * Amazing athletic programs to enjoy as a participant or spectator, who else could claim the world's best female soccer player and best basketball player as one of their own? (Mia Hamm, Michael Jordan) * A lovely campus that's wonderfully collegiate in the fall and brilliantly green in the spring with plenty of space to lounge around * A community that totally supports the University, life in Chapel Hill and Carrboro is perfect for academics and students looking for a great work-life balance * A talented and diverse student base representing the best of what North Carolina and the country have to offer. And yes, the gals are both pretty AND smart... * A culture that's focused on giving back to the community through service in public health, social work, medicine, law, business and more... * Fun Franklin street with plenty of cool bars, clubs, restaurants and stores. Yeah, there aren't any high-end places but who cares when you can get beer for 25 cents? * And most importantly, staff and students who are academically smart but still caring, cordial, and cool. We're not Harvard wanna-be's (cough, *Duke*), we're the Heels and proud of it! All I know is that if I can convince my nephew to come down here for school, he's gonna thank me for the rest of his life... Go Heels Go!!!

Without a doubt one the most impressive campuses and schools in the country. I did not attend here but recently visited and was blown away by the school and the quality of the students. I would recommend staying at the Carolina Inn and having a bite to eat on Franklin street.

UNC-CH has top notch professors, decent dorms, and affordable tuition. Their Liberal Arts program is one of the best in the South and competitive with (and safer than) Duke which is in the next town over. The Board of Governors stipulates that each class must include applicants that represent all NC counties so if you're from outside Orange County you'll have a better chance of admission. The EOC office at this school is absolutely trash. I reported to them how I was physically assaulted and bullied by one of its students. They interviewed us both, and felt that my abuser was more credible. It does not occur to them that abusers always deny their crimes and would fabricate a bunch of lies about it. They feel I am not credible because I was inconsistent with the timeline of events, without them keeping in mind that it was a traumatic event and that I have a persistent tic disorder which halts/ forges up my memory during high stress periods. Perhaps if I was white, things would have gone differently.

One of the classic settings in college. The sports programs are right in the heart of the campus. All paths in the throughout the campus are red brick and building coordinate with this. Tons of history and a great fun downtown that is the north border of the campus.

What a beautiful campus! Walking around campus reminded me of my college days! Except that where I attended college (NYC) wasn't nearly as calm and peaceful as UNC! The campus is stunning (especially in the fall, when we were there) - and well worth exploring!

A review based on a lot of experience with all aspects of the Carolina life. If you're here long enough, you get a sense of the different sides of Carolina. The good (the people, the campus), the less good (the desire to turn campus bookstores into Barnes & Noble/Starbucks), and the in-between (Hi Gary!). The most important part is that this is a university of the people: a wide variety of different people, coming in with varied experiences who work to better the world in a wide variety of ways. Whether they do that in classrooms, hospital operating rooms, laboratories, athletic fields, or in The Pit, they do so because they love this place, this magical, crazy place. You meet a lot of different people in this place: the writers, the scientists, the activists, the gladiators, the people who work day to day to make sure this is the best place it can be, they are all here. Every one makes Carolina what Carolina is. In these halls, you see the best that humanity can offer: answers to questions about the workings of the brain, questions about whether or not our criminal justice system truly punishes the "worst of the worst", whether we can find ways to cure the cruelest of diseases, it's all here. People working on things that truly matter in day to day life. So now I leave this place, even if this place does not leave me. It gave me both the tangible (a doctorate, somehow) and the less tangible (friendships, happiness, and other great things). In summary, there are probably puppies in The Pit. You should pet them, especially if they are adoptable. If they are not adoptable, ask first before petting. That's the Carolina Way.

I visited UNC for a residency interview. One of the most beautiful campuses I've ever seen. None of the big universities in Texas come even close! Very jealous of all the trees and the weather.

I took my class for a field trip to Carolina. We had a wonderful time. The students who ran First Look were great. We also enjoyed the lunch at Rams Head Cafeteria. The highlight was going to Morehead Planetarium for a show about weather on other planets. Beautiful campus with friendly students and staff.

UNC has a gorgeous campus and there is always something going on during the school year. If you love collegiate athletics Chapel Hill is the place to be. UNC always has a team in season that is in the top 5. It is also an amazing campus to your. There are some great sights to take it so make sure to bring your camera. The best time of year to visit is in the fall around Halloween. Make sure to check out Franklin St on Halloween night. Places you need to visit are the Bell Tower, the Old Well, the Quad, Franklin Street, Kenan Stadium and the Dean Smith Center. It never hurts to contact the visitor center to get a walking tour. The campus can be kind of confusing if you have never been there.

For my 900th review, a tribute to my alma mater. The place where I -- * Read Tess of the d'Urbervilles three times * Drank party juice from a lined trash can out of used Solo cups * Could attend a writer-in-residence lecture, lay out on the quad, or watch an a capella show * Suffered two years with no AC, and 8-women-to-1-bathroom quarters on South Campus * Waited in 20-degree weather for basketball tickets -- only to not make the cut-off (but don't worry, I still caught a fair share of games in my 4 years!) * Left Biology to pursue Literature (Mom & Dad are so proud!) * P2P!! * Broke my foot while playing ping pong at a frat house (contact sport, you know) * Was awed by the architecture -- and by the prevalence of squirrels * Witnessed male streaking on Franklin * and community come together in grief, to support one another, and gradually come out stronger post-9/11 * Joined the crazy clan of costumed co-eds parading the street every Halloween * Ate approximately a hundred McAlister's chicken sandwiches * Had my first brushes with both yoga and boxing -- hobbies that have become passions * Wholly relied on Napster, IM, and the just-burgeoning Facebook * Prank planted a fake cockroach in a shared shower, and an unused condom on a suitemate's doorknob And I did manage to get a degree in there somewhere! Thanks, UNC, for an affordable education; and four years of fun memories.

I explored The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before my brother's college basketball game. I was impressed with the campus. It was beautiful and well maintained. Navigating around campus wasn't too complicated. We ate at Time-Out, a UNC staple for chicken biscuits (located directly on campus). Parking on campus can be a hassle at times. I enjoyed my short visit to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Why is Cobb Dorm the address for UNC? I have no clue, whatever. I love UNC. I miss you Carolina. If you are a student here, you are so lucky and you should enjoy it while you can. Take 5 years like I did. You won't regret it. The real world sucks, at least compared to being at UNC. What a great school. I am at a higher-ranked university now and it's total bullshit that UNC isn't ranked more highly. It has an awesome reputation all over and definitely offers a much better experience (academic AND social) than its ranking suggests. Go Heels!

Having spent only 2 years at Carolina (Kenan-Flagler), I just fell in love with the campus. It's simply beautiful. Other than the charms of Franklin street, campus life was great. You get to choose what and how you want to live at UNC. I was not a dorm person (too old for that) so during my MBA, I chose to live at Baity Hill which happens to be full living apartments for graduate students only! So, I was happily enjoying the Carolina bliss and away from the noisy dorm rooms. Whenever I wanted to seek out some excitement, Franklin street was always there. Add to it, a great faculty, great B-ballers, good squash courts, lots of fond memories and it just makes me nostalgic again!

Actually UNC has a beautiful campus. With the coloring tree leaves, it does give visitor a sense of history. Unluckily, I heard that wolf is the symbol of UNC. However I tried to find some signs, but was successful.

Dropped by for a self-led campus visit and it was the nicest public university campus we've seen, must admit (even as Duke fans).

I graduated in 2014, and i got to say this is the best college in the Southeast or perhaps the entire east coast. I got an awesome offer from a law firm in Atlanta thanks to my alumni, and i cannot imagine being anywhere else. The school is very diverse, and it is an equal balance of academics and social life. It is unlike some schools a few states below us where all they do is get infected with stds and graduate college with zero gain in knowledge. It is as if their iq was the same as a freshmen entering college to the time they step onto the field on the commencement day.

Beautiful campus with plenty of parking for students, staff, and visitors. It's very picturesque and everyone is so pleasant!

Other ampus architecture and design is lacking. People who say UNC haven't been to the many of the better designed universities in the nation. The other school 15 minutes away has the better campus, hands down. The organization treats its employees like crap and with the exception of some of its graduate departments, the undergraduates seem more interested in partying than oh, I don't know, getting am education.

I'm totally a fan. I have some friends and I even briefly had a girlfriend who went there. In fact I have some friends who go there to this day! What a wonderful school! They're a bit hung up on basketball, which is okay! The philosophy department is probably the best, most consistently overlooked part of this school! How's that for a jump shot?
