This is a great place to get random items for the office, classrooms, and even your house. Prices are excellent. All items are used from the University of Washington school system. I go every Tuesday during the summer to get supplies for my classroom and house. Items range from office furniture to office supplies to toys and everything in between. New items are added every week. The selection is always changing. This is a great place for teachers on a budget! Tuesday is open to the public day. I recommend getting there a little before opening and waiting in line for the best selections.

The University boasts an impressive (and large) campus. The buildings are well maintained, and the campus is very clean and pleasant. There are many communal areas, and plenty of different study spaces. Overall great learning environment.

Google
Jewel of Washington education. Great school, big school. Beautiful school. Too progressive, in my opinion, I would like to see more balance so things like our current political situation wouldn't happen. However, UW is a great educational opportunity for young men and women wanting a quality education.

Google
What can I say about this beautiful and fantastic university? Perfect You have to walk across the campus to see how beautiful, green, ancient, and engaging the uni campus offers students, faculty, and staff. There are many attractive places to visit on the campus, depending on how far you want to go and what you want to see. I enjoyed my time here when walking across the campus and seeing all the school activities and students chatting. My critical advice here is to take your time to enjoy the campus’s beauty under the sunshine of summer

Google
Beautiful, well-kept campus. The cherry blossoms are spectacular. There is a lot of interesting architecture. We enjoyed the museum as well.

Google
The University of Washington is one of the best Universities around. I did not attend the school but have gone there to listen to lectures on how to become a Physician Assistant (PA). I also attended the Washington Motorcycle Safety Training on the campus parking lot. The university is huge and beautiful! The university has a nice stadium on the southeast corner of the campus. In addition, the Liberal Arts Quadrangle, better known as the Quad, is my favorite place to visit at the University. There are beautiful tall buildings there surrounding Cherry Blossoms trees. What else? Peaceful, beautiful scenery of the students walking. I love the University of Washington.

Google
Amazing campus. The buildings are like ancient castles in the middle era of Europe. The natural environment is also awesome, you can see squirrels and rabbits everywhere. And the most amazing view should be Mt.Ranier vista. Love it.

Google
I've just started my academic journey here at UW and so far I have been so happy with my decision. The campus is simply gorgeous and everyone is super nice. Very excited to embark on my journey. Update after 4 months: The first quarter is over. I'm still loving it to be here. All the teaching and administration staff are super helpful and unbelievably supportive. Thank you UW for everything 💜

Yelp
Love walking through this campus at any time of year. The foliage offers visual beauty in every season--striking fall colors and vibrant pink cherry blossoms in spring. The buildings are impressive and of varied architecture, and of course, there's the "Harry Potter Library." I imagine it must be a wonderful place to attend university.

Yelp
As a proud two-time alumni of the Big Ten conference, I figured I should visit the newest member when I was in Seattle during the '24 holidays. I took the 1 Line light rail to its namesake station, and made a mark to walk towards the campus book store. Alas, even though it was a weekday, it was winter break so EVERYTHING was closed. I did get a chance to see a lot, including the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering (agree with the opinion that CS and CompE should be together), the Quad (really nice, would fit right in with the Quads in other Big Ten schools), and the Drumheller Fountain (a lot less impressive when not on).

Yelp
I love the geese at the University of Washington. They make my day. Of course, I love the UW outside of the geese as well. But the geese are definitely the best part. One day I will pet them. Not today though. Go Dawgs!

Yelp

Yelp
The university campus is quite lovely for a leisurely stroll on a sunny day. One of the standout spots is Suzzallo Library, often dubbed the "Harry Potter Library" due to its majestic Gothic architecture. Don't miss the captivating Reading Room near the entrance. The view of Mt. Rainier from the Drumheller Fountain spot is truly picturesque. While the university is renowned for its cherry blossoms, I find them somewhat underwhelming, especially when compared to the spectacular cherry blossoms in DC. It might not be worth a visit if you've already experienced DC's cherry blossoms. In summary, it's a pleasant visit if you happen to have some time to spare in Seattle.

Yelp
This campus is stunningly gorgeous. I came here for the famous cherry blossoms in April, and there were a good number of them in the quad. These are the best cherry blossoms I have seen, but I really haven't seen many in the world. I visited the Suzzallo Library, which has a massive reading room that looks like the Hogwarts Great Hall and has beautiful church-like stained glass panels. This is my dream study spot.

Yelp
How do you rate a university where you are not, and never have been, a student? Walk the campus, and you'll quickly find out. What a gorgeous place! Incredible gothic architecture spread out across an almost unfathomably large campus, and accredited as one of the world's most advanced and pioneering educational institutions in all STEM fields, as well as medicine and research. U-Dub is the crowning jewel of the Washington State education system, and belongs amongst the ranks of the Ivy League schools, despite being geographically-removed from them.

Yelp
Let's me start by saying that I don't have any experience with other major universities to compare the University of Washington with, as I spent most of my time at a community college. However, I can confidently say that my first visit to such a massive campus exceeded my expectations. This campus offers a wealth of resources to assist students in achieving success. The campus is a sight to behold, particularly the Suzzallo and Allen libraries, the Cherry Blossoms, and the stunning views of Mount Rainer from the water fountains. The campus also boasts a bowling alley, gaming facilities at the Husky Union Building, and a well-maintained gym close to the school's athletic and stadium areas. Oh and a golf range! Everything is within walking distance. The light rail is within a five- or 10-minute walk of any of your classes. It's very convenient to use public transportation to and from here in a timely manner. I'd like the way the system is set up to get students to school and I like all the resources they have on campus to make students successful. Furthermore, the University of Washington cultivates a welcoming environment where all staff members are eager to go above and beyond to support your success. I love my experience with the University of Washington.

Yelp
I was in town to run the Seattle Cherry Blossom Half Marathon which started and ended on campus. After the race, I got to check out the beautiful cherry blossom in bloom before heading out. The campus, buildings were also very beautiful and looked to be very well maintained. There was an overpass to cross over to the Link light rail station without having to deal with car traffic.

Yelp
The University of Washington cherry blossom trees is a must see of Seattle. They bloom in the spring. The university has around dozens of different types of cherry blossom trees are on campus including 29 Yoshino trees on the quad area of the camp. They are almost 100 years old!
google avatar

Wang T.

Yelp
This campus definitely rocked our world. My girlfriend and I came here to see the famous Sakura cherry blossoms in Mid-March/April while she attended school getting her master degree in CS. The quads are stunning as they have the best cherry blossoms besides Japan. We are also had a self guided tour inside the Suzzallo&Allen library, which reminds me of the Central public library in Manhattan that is beyond crystal. It's a pity for me because my overall GPA score doesn't allow me to fit into this university. But the library on the other hand, remains a dream learning zone for us.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
First time to check out the Cherry Blossom been meaning to but finally was able to see it. It was crowded as expected but worth it. We even seen a bunch of furry friends out and about. Just a great way to spend some time out and about. Beautiful Place to check out and experience. A must see and visit.

Yelp
They might be removing the Cherry trees in DC but they're flourishing on campus at University of Washington

Mary F.

Yelp
My daughter was enrolled this year as Freshman but realized the school was not a good fit and left abruptly. There was no follow-up from the school which clearly indicates a lack of concern regarding students. She could have been having a mental health crisis. I'm a clinical psychologist and have interacted with many institutions of higher learning and have never seen such egregious behavior. I would check out the suicide rate before sending your child here. It is sad and chilling.

Yelp
Such a pretty campus to visit! We're not at all prospecting students, just nosy tourists... Decided to drop by and appreciate its beauty! Loved the architecture, the greenery, and the whole ambiance of the school. Everything felt very fresh, calm, and a little big like Hogwarts? Visited on a Sunday and were blessed with free parking! Walked a lot more than we expected to. It's a big campus! There's families out and about, people walking dogs, and of course students roaming around campus. The fountain is a big hot spot. A very nice place to just sit back and relax. We were a little bummed that the library was closed for the day. Would've loved to take a peek inside the famed Hogwarts look-alike space!

Yelp
I attended the University of Washington (UW) from autumn 2010 to spring 2012 before transferring out with no degree. Starting with the ups of my time here, I studied abroad at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in the form of a student exchange from January to June 2012 on a 6-month student visa. That meant I attended NMMU on-campus in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and a student from NMMU attended UW. The other big positives were excellent athletic facilities available for use by the student body (I adored a particular indoor track at the IMA) and club sports (I competed for the women's club rugby team in autumn 2011). A few of the middle of the roads include the following. When deciding on my major, they offered neither I was interested in (marine biology, geology and geophysics). I ultimately transferred to the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, starting on-campus in Honolulu in August 2012, graduating with my dream degree in August 2015 (Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics with a Minor in Mathematics). Transferring was straightforward, though not all my credits from UW fulfilled the corresponding class requirements at Hawai'i. Meaning, I retook some of the same classes. In taking classes at another university, some of which were even the same class, I realized the education at UW was more subpar than I initially thought. For example, at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa the professors taught their own lecture sessions and made themselves available for questions both during and outside of lecture. On-campus food at UW was good but expensive, even with a meal plan. I tried out multiple offered living systems including off-campus university-affiliated Greek Row (Alpha Xi Delta sorority), on-campus non-residential living community, and on-campus engineering residential living community, and found none of them to be a good fit for me. Still, nice to have a number of options to try out. The downs included/include the following. The western gray squirrels (a threatened native species) and I would have appreciated more native vegetation for the native species, though I understand some of the plants were brought in so people can get their photo ops and that drives a lot of the school's tourism. For the bad flare ups I experienced here, I would assign a rating lower than Yelp offers. So, this is a bit of a clipped review just like how I talk about the university in real life as I make nice often as my mom and sister graduated from here and to this day, Sunday 23 July 2023, they remain content with their time here - each earned their Bachelor degree from this campus. That is, 2 out of 3 people in my immediate family are happy with their time here, so I do not see a need to delve too much in to my negatives as I have learned they can be very individual-specific. My aunt also got her Masters degree from here and she was happy with her experience as well.

T J.

Yelp
Until the university corrects this policy. I'm leaving this review. Unless you are in a unique program or have honors, the university will not print your area of study on your undergraduate degree. 4 years, a pandemic, online classes and over 40 thousand dollars in tuition and the university will not spend the time or 10 cents in ink to print your Major or Minor on your diploma. Shame on you UW, I hope this cost cutting measure was worth it.

Yelp
This a review of the campus (not the academic, athletic or social activities of the U since I was not/am not a student there). Came during the cherry blossom season to look at the trees and walk around the campus. The cherry blossoms were great to look at and the public areas were packed with people enjoying the scenery and outdoors. Definitely worth a visit during cherry blossom season!

Yelp
Haven't been a student here so I can't say anything about the education first hand. UW is ranked #6 in the USA for public universities so definitely check it out if you are considering receiving an education there. 5 of the academic programs are ranked in the top 12 in the country. I've been to this campus many times for events and to just see the cherry trees. UW has a huge campus. It can take 1-2 miles from where you park to get to class. Traffic is a nightmare M-F. Yesterday, it took me 1 hour just to get from the parking garage here to reach the 520 ramp. There's the light rail and bus options which are better if they work for you. A lot of bicyclists zooming around with the bike trails and Burke-Gilman Trail goes past here. There are very old buildings from ages years ago to ones being currently built. The school began in 1876. The quad is known for the cherry blossom trees that explode in pink in the springtime. The library is stunning. There is a strong frat/sorority presence at this university. The school has a lot of resources, programs and events but you have to search them out. Student population is about half people of color and/or from another nation.

Yelp
*This review is given by somebody who did not attend school here! What a beaut. Especially around this time of the year. My fiance (who is an alumni) and I made it out here just around time to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom this season and we were not disappointed. The quad area was stunning and tons of people traveled near and far to see these fleeting beauties! We were able to track the progress of the blooming cherry blossoms through their website - which I found to be pretty accurate. There are tons of people having their own impromptu photo shoots with the cherry blossoms so don't be shy and strike a pose where ever you can fit! We also saw a couple having their baby shower photo shoot which we found to be really sweet. Give your eyes a feast and make sure to come to this campus. With or without the cherry blossoms this campus is gorgeous and hold a lot of tradition. Love coming here to scope out the different buildings and architecture!

Yelp
Review style: Academic hopefully I've been out of the Education game for a long time! I graduated from UW over a decade ago. now, you ask me why do I want to do a review for a University when this is supposed to be a website for food lovers reviewing their favorite places meaning restaurants or perhaps a place they been to only once to share their displeasure about how a place may have ruined their appetite? Now, here's the thesis: The University of Washington (also referred to as by locals or people who attended there as UW pronounced "U-Dub") has one of the nation's best Sociology programs. As proof, I did a quick Google search and pulled up per collegefactual.com that, UW's Sociology program is ranked 19 out of 552 nationwide in 2017. Here's my personal-college-long story short: I was originally a Business Management major that turned into a Geography Information Systems major to finally a Sociology major. Wow, three totally unrelated majors that indeed impacts the world! So during my time as a Sociology major, those were the best school days of my life! and here are the reasons: (1) Not only do you have a good Sociology program, but you are part of an extended family; as well as; tradition and pride.. for this school, it is home of the Husky!; (2) With the family includes all of my favorite professors in no chronological order: Sociology of African Americans, Dr. Albert Black; Sociology of Criminality, Dr. Robert Crutchfield; and Sociology of Theory, Dr. Edgar Kiser. I want to say, each one of them give Sociology.. life; they all make it extremely interesting!; (3) The big beautiful campus that may be 10x bigger than most colleges and that includes the spectacular Cherry Blossom trees that you see on campus during Spring!; (4) Competitive sports teams - during my time, we had a good basketball team that featured Will Conroy, Nate Robinson, Curtis Allen, Spencer Hawes and was a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament one year! now.. their football program is back to being relevant once again.. Yes!; (5) Well! okay to make it relate to Yelp, you have good food places nearby the campus and you can go either: during lunch time, between breaks or after classes by 45th Street called, "University District".. definitely go explore yourself! they have lots of good food!; and most of all; (6) Savery Hall - this is where the program happens! I hope this gives you a little taste of how it was at UW and how their program is continuing to achieve to the highest of heights. Cheers! - Johnny Husky Alumni

Yelp
Not a student but it's a really pretty campus and buses seem really accessible for public transportation

Yelp
A GREAT PLACE TO VIEW CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!!! Very impressive cherry blossom grove in the middle of the quad. Apparently, impressive enough that half the city came to view and take photos! Traffic to get into the University. Parking on the street was scarce. Plenty of paid parking lots and structures, though. As with any uni, the quad is practically in the heart of the campus so you'll have to walk for a bit. It is so worth it! While we were there, a couple was doing their wedding (or pre-wedding?) photo shoot. What a great time and place to do so!
google avatar

Yelp
I was visiting Seattle for the first time and love to tour college campuses. My friend had suggested this campus to see the cherry blossom trees. When I reached here, it was an amazing sight! What a beautiful campus. I can see how students would have a memorable experience developing themselves here.
google avatar

Mojdeh S.

Yelp
I can't speak to the education, as I was never a student at the UW, but I can say the campus is glorious. It's spacious and beautiful, calm and serene despite being full of teenagers. Nature is ever present, from the evergreen trees to the grassy slopes and the verdant bushes to the springtime cherry blossoms. Brick and wooden buildings, some decades old, and others as modern as they come in 2019, complement each other and the setting seamlessly. During the week, during the school year, walkways and sidewalks, the Quad and bookstore are bustling with activity and students. Special events are often held at UW, inviting many talents, backgrounds, ideals in, and sharing them with the community.

Yelp
UW is such a pretty university! The campus is beautiful, large, but also has a nice studious/academic feel to it. I love that you have such a nice view everywhere you go, and I spent some time doing some work on the benches around campus. The campus seems to be both active and peaceful, honestly. It must be pretty nice being a student here!
google avatar

Reuben L.

Yelp
Visited the campus. Had to go through a parking booth and paid for an hours stay to take pictures. Guest parking was in the red zone level 5. There were many others with the same idea. The campus is big, we looked in the library and it was huge. Two floors with study rooms here and there. Lots of computers that students take advantage of everywhere. I think the visitors this time of year stop in to take pictures of the cherry blossom trees that surround the court yard. It is so beautiful. The flowers bloom in the month of March and goes through April. It's a very big school with lot's of students crossing paths. Everyone seems there on a mission to get somewhere. I guess classes are far away from each other and so students would have to walk. During this time of year stop-in to check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
Great school with very many opportunities and resources, however, it is difficult to find these resources yourself so you will have to take initiative. Campus is also very beautiful and well maintained. Lots of nice ducks around the fountain!

Yelp
Beautiful campus and in the fall it is amazing! I love the architecture and the placement of the Quad and Red Square. It was a rainy day so no clear view of Mt. Rainer from Red Square. It was the weekend of the Apple Cup the prestigious bragging rights of the champions of Washington. Walking around the campus you can picture the many students waking, running or biking to class and you realized that you have entered a world of endless learning in such a picturesque place. Old buildings torn down to make room for expansion and renovation. It's amazing to see iconic donations to the Univerisity from the likes of Bill Gates and professional athletes. It goes to show how much they value education but more importantly love and respect this institution.

Porter L.

Yelp
I am a student here and have gone through so many random registration holds it is ridiculous. The advisors offer 0 help and will not support your learning or attendance at this school. This school only cares about money and it shows with the way they treat their students. I have senior status here and they put me on a registration hold 5 days before my date. This hold is going to cost me time and effort to lift and I will not be able to do so before my registration date, meaning they pretty much just randomly revoked my senior status. Profs also only care about failing stem majors and doing their own research rather than supporting learning. This school is not worth the "prestige."

Yelp
This is the greatest place on the planet to help you expand your horizons. Hreat location and some of the most talented student athletes you will ever have the pleasure of watching.

Yelp
Loved visiting this campus! Absolutely beautiful with lots of plants and trees (weird observation, i know) but the nature really accentuated the beauty of the buildings and such. Stopped by to look at the cherry blossoms and take pictures, and the Quad was unbelievably stunning! Plenty of places to eat on campus, especially at the Den (surprisingly open on weekends as well) I saw shuttles pass by regularly even on a Saturday, so I was impressed From University of Texas to University of Washington, it was a good campus experience! (:

Yelp
Specifically the graduate school of information sciences. Rude administration that regularly messes up details

Yelp
My review is 30-years late, and with COVID-19 boredom I have more time to reflect back on my undergrad days at UW (U-Dub) has helped shaped me. I majored in Chemical Engineering during a time when Huskies went to three consecutive Rose Bowls and won 2 out of 3. I had a handful of small scholarships pay the majority of my 4-years here, but quarterly tuition for an in-state resident was like $800. Shows how old I am! I cherished my time at UW and still donate to them for over 20 years. Maybe I can be a teaching professor or lecturer there when I retire. Freshmen Experience: I highly recommend joining a FIG, or Freshmen Interest Group. You and 20-other students with similar majors will share common classes for two years, before branching out to different majors. That way, you'll make friends and study buddies real quick. Enjoying the Campus: UW is gorgeous - libraries that look like European Cathedrals, Cherry Blossoms, Drumheller Fountain, Red Square, etc. After going to Berkeley and UW, UW has the prettier campus. I regret not being able to take more pictures back then. Life off campus: I lived with my parents and commuted daily for four years, but I did take advantage of the many great restaurants on the "Ave." I can't believe Orange King is still in business! College life seems funner in the dorms though. Top-10 Life Lessons from UW: 1. Don't cram for tests or pull all-nighters. Extra sleep and a rested mind are far more valuable. 2. For engineers, learn how to interpolate numbers in a table quickly. Don't know how to take a derivative of a curve? Use the dang ruler! 3. Read the entire test and never start with Problem #1. Solve the easiest problem first to save time for the harder ones. 4. Definitely try to work part-time and not study 100%. Not just for money, but for experience and people skills. 5. Despite being an engineer, two critical skills and classes are technical writing and public speaking. 6. Focus on the lecture material, not the textbooks. 7. Participate as an undergrad researcher to get a sense of what grad school is like. 8. Interviewing for jobs or internships - they care less about your GPA but will want you to focus on projects that you've worked on as an undergrad. 9. Probably my biggest failure was overly focusing on grades and doing well on tests or homework, rather than really trying to understand the material. As with #8, having a low GPA hurts but a super-high GPA is not enough either. True understanding and mastery of the material is what matters - and that will show up in grad school or starting your first real-world job. 10.Purple and Gold forever, go Dawgs!

Ben H.

Yelp
I was on a walk through with my son that is looking into attending and a student push by us in front of staff and nothing was said or done. The school allows students to act anyway they want with no consequence. This was not a good experience for a group of first time familys and new students. Not a good campus to visit.

Yelp
I am not a student at the University of Washington, nor am I an alumnus, but ever since I was a wee lad, I have been a huge fan of their football program and the Seattle area in general. The days of Napoleon Kaufman, Mark Brunell, and Mario Bailey famously mocking Desmond Howard's Heisman trophy pose are still very fresh in my mind. Yes, even though I grew up in California surrounded by Cal fans, my favorite Pac-10 (or is it Pac-12 now?) school has been, and always will be the U Dub Huskies. Who could forget the chants of "One more year! One more year!" after Napoleon Kaufman's junior season? Even as the Huskies have fallen on hard times in recent years, my fandom has not waned, and I have still been following the team, cheering them on as things appear to be on the rise once again. Growing up viewing the image on TV of picturesque Huskies Stadium along the shores of Lake Washington left a lasting impression in my mind, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity recently to visit the campus in person. With such lofty standards to live up to, it only set me up for disappointment, but I must say that I was actually quite awestricken. Football stadium aside, I was impressed by the lovely architecture and cleanliness, especially with many of the older buildings reminiscent of universities on the East Coast. Heck, if I were to ever need a movie backdrop to represent an Ivy League school, I might just take a quick flight up to the Emerald City instead. Then again, that might not be so realistic, since the beauty of UW far surpasses any of the city campuses on the other side of the country. The surroundings are a bit on the suburban side, but offer plenty of the normal amenities that make a college campus great. Although lacking the character of say, Berkeley, there are plenty of sights and sounds, and above all, it is a safe and inviting area compared to many other universities. Of course, how could anyone not love Portage Bay (http://www.yelp.com/biz/portage-bay-cafe-seattle), one of my favorite breakfast cafes anywhere. Although my original love for UW stemmed from the football team, I have grown to appreciate the actual university itself. Who knows, I might even apply for grad school up here some day. Until then, let's go 2010 Huskies football! From a few hundred miles away, I do indeed Bark for Sark! Woof! Woof! P.S. This is the decoration on my desk at work (http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs095.snc3/16250_202679214011_539289011_4043773_6352422_n.jpg). Go Huskies!

Yelp
I'm officially in love with UW! Very regal looking campus. Came here to check out the cherry blossoms but unfortunately it didn't look like the cherry blossoms in the quad were in full bloom. Despite the unbloomed cherry blossoms, this campus is still a 5 star in my book. Such a beautiful campus which is PERFECT for late night walks with your significant other. I doubt the students really have much time to take long walks around campus because it looks like they're already taking long walks just to get from one building to another. I think my boyfriend and I spent a good 2 hours just walking from one side of the campus to another. IT WAS A GINORMOUS CAMPUS! We did stop and take pictures but danggggg....and I complained when I had to walk 3 blocks from my dorm to the classroom back in Riverside. The campus bookstore was ridiculous far from the main quad (where I though the bookstore would be) Loved the library. Very Harry potter-esk. I lived in the libraries back in the school days so I would have loved to live there in UW'S library.

Yelp
I couldn't bring myself to post a review until I had completed a quarter, and now that it's winter break, I'm all ready! There are several things you should know about UW: the campus is HUGE, the teachers are all SUPER qualified to be teaching, the research being done at UW is completely groundbreaking, and its football team is slaying the competition this year. My walk all quarter long from my car to my first class was a mile long. That was just going from east campus to west campus. North to south is even longer! As for the teachers, my three teachers had degrees from U Penn, Harvard, Cornell, and UC Berkeley. They are incredibly knowledgeable, and have likely published books or research that have changed the world in some way. I am so proud to be a husky. It's the best feeling actually being at UW. That being said, the school is tough. Your grades reflect how much more you know than the average student instead of just how much you know. It is highly competitive. It pushes to you, but your professors see your hard work and reward you accordingly. You will leave here being a much better student than when you entered. You will be prepared for the future.

Yelp
What an amazing experience to enjoy the beauty of nature at the Cherry and Magnolia Blossoms at the University of Washington, Seattle this Saturday. Perfect weather- beautiful sun, blue skies and brisk spring chill in the air. Year after year these trees put up an awesome show of nature. Fragrant blooms and ever changing colors and patterns of nature. Pretty much every nationality could be heard in the linguistic chatter. Good or bad, it was hard not to distracted from admiring the amazing show of nature due to constant chatter, selfies and dramatic poses people prefer. If you are willing to discard lower 6' zone then one can really appreciate the colors, the blooms, contrasting tree branches against beautiful blue skies.

Yelp
You know that a campus is drop dead beautiful if you can enjoy touring around the college during the cold, winter time. This is EXACTLY what you can expect to see at the University of Washington, or UW. My friends and I decided to go on a "cheap" visit to Seattle in the winter time, where people advised strongly against. This was mainly because the city isn't as beautiful in the winter as in the summer - with all that rain as well as snow. They couldn't have been more wrong and UW serves as the perfect example. Although the weather was pretty gloomy when we first set foot in Seattle, the campus was nevertheless beautiful. The first thing I noticed about this school was that it's very, very historic. The architecture as well as the statues (did you see that one of George Washington?) reminds me of the types of colleges you get in the East Coast, brought straight to the Pacific Northwest. If you love taking pictures of buildings, this is the school to visit on the West. Even though there's not really a readily available "must see" list of places to visit on the campus, there is definitely one building you cannot avoid. And that's the Suzzalo library (or something like that). Inside, you will find the largest book on campus, centuries upon centuries old. And if you venture to the reading room you will be in for a treat for this room is none other than the Hogwarts dining hall! Although we didn't book a tour with anyone, the people on Campus that we did talk to were very kind and friendly. They pointed us where we needed to go and were very responsive to us being tourists. In terms of the scenery itself, the campus is beautiful both at night and in the day. I would encourage visits 24/7, all year round. The only thing you will miss out on if you come in the winter like we did would be the Cherry Blossoms. I will definitely come back again in the spring and check those out! tl;dr overall, UW is everything the school is made out to be. It's a fun place to take pictures and a great school as well. Have fun and prosper,

Yelp
Are you thinking about accepting your UW admission offer? Read my previous review below (pros/cons/fun facts) for more details on student life and general information. Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have! The only advice I would give you now is that if you do plan on attending Udub this Fall, go to Nordstrom Rack NOW (or during the summer) and get that North Face jacket/rainwear when it is 50% off. You will need it when you go here!!! Oh also, make sure you know this meme, http://ow.ly/i/ZtLK

Yelp
Came here for the first time in my life and I can tell you that this place is beyond beautiful. The campus is WOW! There are a lots of benches and places to sit around campus. The UW is huge and has many specific attractions (for example: Husky Stadium, the Arboretum, The Henry Art Gallery, Burke Museum, etc). The architecture and landscaping go very well together and make for an enjoyable stroll through campus. While at Red Square, be sure to check out Suzzallo Library and it's reading room (think Harry Potter). It was a thrill to see where the boat that won the 1936 Olympics is on display as are other artifacts from that era. The boat is actually suspended from the ceiling of the cafeteria. Worth a trip up to the Drumheller Fountain. The view of Mt. Rainier is amazing, if you catch good weather. Someone build a duck ramp into the fountain. I googled it and found out it is to help ducklings in and out of the fountain safely. The quad in Spring time with huge Japanese Cherry Trees and Magnolias in blossom is really spectacular. You will find people taking pictures all over the place. I mean, everyone becomes photographers when you get there. Don't forget to buy a purple something from there... Cheers! The entire "U" district is quite a sight!

Yelp
The campus itself is beautiful but the actually learning experience is really isolating and boring. I would not recommend this school to any one.

Yelp
Came here for a tour of the campus. From start to finish, the experience was fabulous...and I've been on a few of these now. I signed up for the tour online which was really easy. Since there were going to be some traveling challenges, I also called because I had a few questions the website didn't address (storing luggage and walking distances/time to allow to get to the tour) and was told about the UW Transportation Services' Commute Concierge service...a team of people helping visitors and students navigating their commute to and from the campus. This was a great resource and super helpful in learning about all of our options getting to the tour from our hotel (downtown area) and from the tour to the airport and how much time to allow for everything. The campus itself is GORGEOUS. I loved the architecture and the foliage, including the cherry trees in full bloom. The tour** began from the HUB and was student led and very informative. We heard about campus life, learned some history of the university, visited Drumheller Fountain, Mary Gates Hall, Red Square, Suzzallo Library, the Liberal Arts Quadrange (the Quad), and Denny Hall. After the walking tour (about an hour and half) concluded, we ventured back to the HUB for a VERY informative freshman information session (something the other tours I have been on lacked). Isaac Stockdale, an admission counselor, gave an informative talk about the admission process and what the University of Washington is looking for in their applicants and on their application. This 30 minute (give or take) portion of the tour was invaluable! **The walking portion of the tour is about a mile...wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes, bring an umbrella and jacket (you are outside braving the elements for the vast majority of it).

Yelp
We came here for the cherry blossoms and ended up really liking this college! It's so pretty and so scenic! The architecture and openness really made this campus absolutely beautiful!

Yelp
This school has treated me well. The big campus is a nice feel for me, lots of places to go study and enjoy. My favorite spots are suzallo, the hub, Mary gates, health science library, and ode for many reasons. Reserving a room to study was my best friend, the ave was a place I got to eat for lunch and dinner. The tennis courts, gym, and waterfront was places I got to exercise and be outdoors. This is a difficult school in terms of achieving an above average grade. Mostly due to teachers however. This school has brought me the love for challenges.

Yelp
Really beautiful campus! I was fortunate enough to be a Husky for a day when my travels brought me to Seattle and I was able to walk around the campus. Everything is so nice and green--there is no doubt as to why Seattle is called the Emerald City. I was able to visit when the cherry blossoms were happening, so it only added to how special the visit was. Their bookstore is really great, so I would recommend stopping in for some Husky swag!

Yelp
If you are visiting Seattle and looking for an area to walk around, I would recommend walking around campus. The architecture is beautiful. There are many paved paths so walking is easy and there are many places to explore. I also popped my head into the library and it is wonderful! I enjoyed people watching and taking in the scenery.
