Uno Hotel (Tamano, Okayama Prefecture) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Tamano’s Uno Port, on the Seto Inland Sea, is the source of the ferries that travel to the Setouchi islands. And while the Uno Hotel could hardly be better located for a trip from the mainland to the islands — a one-minute walk from a rail station and three minutes from the ferry pier — it’s also something of a destination in its own right. The rooms and suites are modern and luxurious, and the atmosphere throughout is faultlessly tranquil; a spa features indoor and outdoor onsen baths as well as saunas and treatments, and the restaurants include a classic Japanese and a modern French option." - Tablet Hotels

Great location, next to train station and ferry terminals. Very welcoming and helpful reception staff. I stayed in a cabin, and it was fine for an overnight stop. The bed was comfortable. The common area has a microwave, fridge, kettles, a selection of teas that you can make in a pot, bottled water and complementary treats. The hotel offered a free voucher for a nearby onsen, which looked lovely, but I did not visit it. The hotel also stored my luggage after checkout while I visited Naoshima. It's a little pricey for a cabin, but I was very happy with my stay.

You really could not ask for more. The shared space view is exactly the needed wind-down after crazy Kyoto crowds. It is conveniently across the street from the train station and ferries and adjacent to supermarkets, cafes and conbinis. The restaurant at the hotel is also very excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful and the amenities are top shelf. You also get Onsen access as a guest. It was a bit dark and stuffy in the cabin but if you are in a proper room there should be no issues. Have fun exploring Uno and the islands!

Very clean and “pods were comfortable and much, much  larger than many I’ve stayed in, the breakout area was well used, with free tea , coffee, iced water, and ice creams in the freezer. Onsen comes recommended. Really easy to walk to the port for an early ferry .

Great stay on the mainland. Staff very helpful and polite. Only weird thing was the intense chemical scent smell in the hallways. Maybe a cleaning product or air freshener. Was overpowering.

The hotel was superb. Most importantly, the room was very comfortable and well presented. However in addition, the location is excellent within sight of the ferry to Noashima, the train station and the neighbouring Onsen. The service was brilliant both the front desk and restaurant staff. The front of desk staff were quick to offer to help us orientate and allowed us to leave our luggage with them both before check in and after. The hotel also has an associate with the Setouchi Onsen a 2 minute stroll from the hotel. Make use of this if you have the chance. For a meal or sum pampering you won’t regret it.

Fantastic place to stay if you want to explore this area. Right at the foot of the ferries it’s incredibly convenient. The staff are amazing - helpful, courteous and go out of their way to help.

My most loved hotel so far in Japan. It's too bad the lights in the corridor of the shared room don't switch off completely at night. The staff is kind and helpful, the beds comfy. And they have one of the best onsen ever. I already miss Uno hotel♥️🫶🏼

I recently stayed at the UNO Hotel with my mom in a semi-private female room, as the private rooms were fully booked. While the hotel staff encourages guests to be quiet and considerate of others, unfortunately, my experience wasn’t as peaceful as I had hoped. The girls in our room had text notifications going off every few minutes, and they came in and out of the room loudly, almost shouting at times. There were also alarms going off in the early mornings, which disrupted our sleep. I also assumed the lights in the shared area of the room would turn off at night, but they stayed on. When I asked the staff, they mentioned that the lights could only be dimmed. This was a bit frustrating, as it made the room less restful. On the positive side, the location is great—it’s directly across the street from the ferry, making it super convenient for travelers. If you can get a private room, I think the hotel has a lot to offer, including breakfast and free passes to the onsen. The amenities are decent, and the staff are friendly. However, I would recommend booking a private room if you're looking for a quieter and more relaxing experience.
