The HiHi Room Closes in Brooklyn After Three Years - Eater NY

"A pizzeria born out of the pandemic is opening its third location on Thursday, August 18. Unregular Pizza, a viral pizza shop that made headlines for trading slices of its pizza for homemade desserts, family recipes, and dance lessons, is opening at 14 E. 37th Street, between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, in Midtown East, according to its publicist. In addition to bartered pizzas, the restaurant will sell fried lasagna and its signature square slices topped with whole bulbs of burrata." - Luke Fortney

Google
Really good pizza; masterful sauce, diverse topping selection, and really nice staff. There is also a little Pac-Man game at the front that makes a good pass time while you're waiting for your pizza. The retro color scheme is also a good touch. Definitely a solid pizza option.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting NYC because it was near our hotel. We had the Diavolona and the Unmushrooms and they were both pretty good. Filled our empty tummies and we left satisfied on our way to continue our pizza tour. Looking forward to a slice of the Nutella pizza to go!

Google
Fluffiest gluten free crust I've ever had! And I've had hundreds of gf crusts. Plus the way they used the vegan cheese made it so it wasn’t sticky on the roof of my mouth. Guy behind the counter was also super nice and helpful. Great place!

Google
When we visit NYC we try the best rated pizza places, and once again they do not compete with New Jersey Pizza. The pizza was nothing special with only the sauce having any flavor. More burned than pizza should be and even though we picked out the least dried looking one it wasn't great. After we left, we noticed the sign in the corner that's says free garlic knots with any slice purchase but weren't told about that.

Google
Unregular Pizza is amazing! The pizza was absolutely delicious — I especially loved the sauce and the texture of the crust. I also used the bathroom during my visit, and it was clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a great experience — we’ll definitely be back!

Google
I stopped for dinner before an evening show, because I saw they had some vegan options. I got the vegan chicken parm sandwich and the garlic squares. The sandwich was good and filling, it felt like a good value for its price. The garlic squares were also tasty, but not stand out. The service was efficient, and there was some seating available, which was nice.

I got the pepperoni stromboli and lemme tell y'all! It was pretty average, food seemed like it was sitting for a while, they got a lil mini over they slide to food into for a re-warning! Priced just right, not too bad for NYC. The vibes are also chill as well, pretty empty when I walked in.

Google
Don’t believe the reviews!!! People get free Nutella pizza for posting a review. I found this place to be deceiving. When dining with friends they ran out of my choice. The pie was supposed to come out in 5-7 min. My friends finished eating in 20 min land the clerk said it will be another 5-7 min. This joke was on me. If you value your time go somewhere else. There are better choices around. No, I didn’t get a free slice for leaving this review…

Yelp

Yelp
Very good and tasty pizza, place is cool Reminds me of saved by the bell from 90s. Music was pretty good too

Yelp
The server was very nice and entirely along with the cleanliness of the place. I would recommend any of the sizes, but wasn't a huge fan of the mini fried pasta will probably be back.

Yelp
The food was warm and delicious. They had vegan options which was a hit with my family. Friendly staff and a recommended some daily deals for us. Nice decor and a/c on a hot day and a clean restroom.

Yelp
Really regular pizza. The mushroom vegan slice was only good once I added a ton of garlic, but it did have at least two types of mushrooms. The plain was flavorless. The garlic bites were just pieces of crust bread soaked in oil and I could only eat some after I squeezed them between my napkin. Service was decent though. If you go into an empty shop at lunchtime: that's your clue to skip it.

Yelp
Got a variety of slices and a chicken Parm sandwich. All were delicious and the service was kind, courteous and swift! I'll be back

Yelp
I got the vegan Margherita and my fiancée got the pepperoni. The pizza was delicious! The garlic squares were also very delicious!

Yelp

Yelp
We enjoyed the pizza, tried 3 different kinds. The crust is very crispy. The service was good, it was an easy place to stop. The inside was cleanly and we enjoyed hanging out in there for a quick bite.

Yelp
This place has been bookmarked, so I've been meaning to come here. They have a lunch special, which isn't a true special since you're paying for the pizza outright and only getting a free drink, which is a soda. All the other drinks you need to pay extra for. It's $10.99, and with taxes, it comes out to $11.95. They have a bathroom at the restaurant which I used for paying customers. The only pizzas that you can get with the special are the grandma slice, cacio e pepe, and diavolona. I chose the cacio and diavolona. It's heated up for you, and it's good until it cools off. I doubt I'll be coming back as I didn't see much of a deal.

Yelp
Very cute pizza joint!! It's a nice size with plenty of seating. To me it has an 80s color scheme and decor...love it. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. I got the hot honey pepperoni and the Prostutio sandwich. They were both delicious the pizza crust was so like foccica very tasty!! They also have homemade lemonade which is a must try. Overall service and food very good!

Yelp
Loved this place! Super fun and retro and it wasn't busy, which was a nice surprise. When I walked in, I was kindly greeted by the person working and they were happy to answer my questions and quickly serve me. I got the Fried Pasta Cacio e Pepe, a slice of Chicken Out, and a slice of Burrapizza Cafonata. Everything was really good, but the Fried Pasta Cacio e Pepe was so unique and fun, I really enjoyed it (it helped that it was delicious!). For the pizza, I surprised myself and actually liked the Chicken Out more than the Burrapizza Cafonata. Again, everything was great. I'd recommend everything I had. One thing that really left a great impression with me is that, as I was leaving, the person working thanked me by name and said goodbye. It was small, but it was really nice.

Yelp
Think the pic speaks for itself. Pizza was great, has a pleasant aftertaste that lingers for about an hour. Many other slices looked good too. As of today (3/30/24), for slices $6 and under, if they have lunch special, you can have 2 plus soda for $10.95.

Yelp
Pizza in New York. Talk about making yourself a ripe target for judgement! We were initially intrigued by this shop's more unique take on pizza. On first presentation, we were impressed with what we could see...the square shaped slices with interesting toppings (burrata!) was very attractive, and we eagerly ordered a few varieties. The looks were promising. Most slices were in the $5-7 range, with their special burrata topping costing up to $11. Seemed a touch steep, but maybe their unregularness could justify the premium...or not. Hey, I appreciate wanting to bring a unique twist to a NY classic, but I am sad to report that we were only ok with what we tried. We know that we can simply get a better slice and probably for cheaper. The burrata slice was a nice twist, but I don't think it justifies the cost. The 'bread to slice' ratio felt off to me. There is a universal maxim that says "There is no such thing as bad pizza", and this pizza didn't break that law, but we were still underwhelmed. We did get perhaps the friendliest service experience of slice shops around, so that was definitely a plus. Thanks, friendly lady, for guiding us on our unregular journey and putting up with our questions on what the different toppings were. Maybe it was a sign that there weren't very many customers, so she had the time to do that, though.

Yelp
Saw this spot on one of the Food shows and decided to give them a try. A smaller spot and quiet as I arrived during their last hour of the day on a Friday evening. A few interesting topping combinations with square Sicilian slices. I saw some sandwiches with some out of the ordinary small bites (I.e Fried Pasta Cacio Pepe) Speaking of Cacio de Pepe, they were out of these slices unfortunately. So I moved over to, unknowingly, the Burrapizza. Cafonata and Proscuitto e Carciofi. Looked good so ordered both. I had a bit of sticker shock when I got my order total of $24 for two slices. Guess the signs were misplaced. I picked the two slices that each have a whole Burrata topping so hence the price. ($11+ each) So once I got over the sticker shock, I started to appreciate these slices. The Prosciutto slice was the one that was truly elevated and unique. Much going on but the Prosciutto and Artichoke combo was delicious and the Burrata takes it over the top. The Cafonata was very good and you can't go wrong with Spicy cup Pepp. Would suggest they offer these slices with a 1/4 or 1/2 Burrata. It was just too rich to eat in one sitting. Other slices sans whole Burrata topping were priced closer to what you would expect. I think ordering a whole pie for the fresh taste would be good also as it looked like some of the slices had been out for some time. Service was friendly. Will be back for that Cacio Pepe slice. Unregular, yes, for a few reasons and worth a try.

Yelp
came here on my lunch break, it's great food, and it's great quality, and comes out fast,

John R.

Yelp
Tasty pizza by the slice. Lots of great toppings and options. We tried 5 different styles and the garlic knots.. Everything was delicious. The options and location are recommended but you may want to ask for your pizza only partially heated as the ovens are very hot resulting in burned bottom crust. If that is your thing, enjoy!

Yelp
I dnno, everything's good I guess... maybe... kinda... i think they got so popular so quick n just rested on that, but nothings amazing. It's heavy, makes ya run to the bathroom, and the mushroom slice I got was foul. There was a fly or two on the pizzas towards the end of the night and I don't think I have a reason to ever go back. I don't like their factory flavored sauce, and I can't say I'm in love. The vodka chucked parm from my too good to go order was real good but also real dry and not real great. So - so imo
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
Always liked this place. Didn't know they had this location. Stopped in for lunch, Chris was very helpful. Got the fried pasta and a piece of mini Stromboli.
google avatar

Franny A.

Yelp
Pizza paradise Roman style like corner slice. The sheer variety is astounding. It's smallish store with mega flavors. I appreciated the vegan options and the choices overall. Ate: Mushroom $6.00 with a dollop The price point here is high! They are known for the burrata addiction to some slices. Not regular but certainly a solid slice.
google avatar

Correy K.

Yelp
Huge slices- fresh cheese and basil For me good pizza is all about the sauce and amount of cheese. Here there is a good amount of both. It's also square pizza which makes it different from the others. Clean handicap bathroom and tables inside as well as the sidewalk. The place is pink and green popping out comfortable funky colors with a led light of Italian flair. Come eat and tell me what you choose! They serve wine and quiet music plays.

Liana S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while walking and it looked very interesting! The vodka slice has a crunchy bottom crust and is very saucy which I liked. Solid vodka slice for sure.Nutella slice is what you would expect. Good amount of Nutella. Staff was very nice!

Patrick M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Great looking Pizza! Recommend checking it out! Order on MealPal! Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect spot for a lunch break. Tried two slices and both were delicious. Had some wine as well. They also had a great playlist playing. Definetly will come again

Adith C.

Yelp
Very delicious food, ambiance, and servers. A very welcoming environment and great presentation.

Hank Z.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza! Best in NYC!! My friend and I were starving. Stopped in and had two delicious slices. Highly recommend.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
This is a square slice pizza place. The second location seems quite new, and even the other people in the shop seemed to confuse it with the original more downtown location of this shop. The slice spread looked impressive, and I ended up with a robust veggie slice that did not skimp on peppers and mushrooms, as well as (somewhat by accident) a vegan margherita. The vegan slice was quite credible for those in need, and I was happy with the vegetables I got as well. It was too much salt, which is not surprising but brings them down a notch in my eyes as it was otherwise a quality pizza.
google avatar

Kassandra F.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! Definitely recommend everyone to try thier pizza! the margarita pizza is my favorite
google avatar

Catherine Y.

Yelp
The pizza was excellent. Their combinations were also fantastic. Slightly overpriced but worth it.
google avatar

Chaewon L.

Yelp
The margherita pizza was not bad. The sauce to pizza ratio is pretty good. The service was quick, and there are a lot of options with meats and veggies. The place is clean, and I wouldn't mind stopping by here if I'm craving a slice of pizza, and I happen to be passing by.
google avatar

Tsvika K.

Yelp
Same as in union square. All around of deliciousness! If you take the square slice with burrata or The fried pasta or the excellent chicken parm sandwich.... All are fresh and flavorable. This place also has seats so it's convenient. Highly recommended!!!! Definitely A Destination!!!!
google avatar

Christopher N.

Yelp
Certainly a decent square pizza in a good location! A bit greasy for my tastes but it's all a matter of preference. The vibes are very 80's with a lot of neon lights and arcade machines that give that real sense of nostalgia. The servers there are also very nice and quick!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
absolutely delicious pizza especially the mushroom and burrata slices. very tasty deviation from classic NY style
google avatar

Ashleigh L.

Yelp
Great slice options. Also can add burrata to any slice which is a game changer! Vegan options too.
google avatar

Katrina W.

Yelp
I actually came here because of Mealpal - got a Burrapiza Cafonata slice which came with garlic knots. I also wanted to try their Fried Cacio e Pepe. Everything was delicious!! The pizza was crispy on the bottom. The cacio e pepe had great flavor and was fried nicely. In fully transparency, I didn't try the garlic knots at first because I was too full but I brought them home and air fried - were very yummy!

Kaitlin L.

Yelp
great service, great food, great ambiance! what more could you ask for?! i had the pepperoni slice with hot honey and it was divine. definitely will be coming back. looking forward to my nutella pizza after this

The O.

Yelp
Food was hot and fresh, the building was clean, and the guy at the front was nice, helpful with the menu options, and efficient!

Yelp
The pizza was good and the service was quick, also can't beat free dessert! Not our first time in New York!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Omg run don't walk to this place. Riot. Light. Delicious. Phenomenal and I come from New Haven where we are absolute pizza snobs. Definitely get the fried cacio e Pepe.

Crystal T.

Yelp
Service was eh just ohk there's no trays to carry food buttt...PIzZa wuz Ahhhmazing!!! definitely coming back!

Krysten G.

Yelp
I had the grandma slice. It was good. Service was excellent and they have some interesting selections. I would come back to try some more. I got my eye on the mini strombolis.
