We dined at Uoksas with high expectations, based on their Michelin recommendation. We had ordered the three-course tasting menu with a paired wine selection.
Unfortunately, we were left with a somewhat empty feeling. The food did not quite live up to our expectations. The starter was creative and innovative, but the main course, a pan-fried trout, was something you could easily find at many other restaurants. The dessert, consisting of four different preparations of cucumber, was certainly inventive, but ultimately fell flat — both in presentation and flavor. A shame.
Unfortunately, on a Thursday evening, there was only one other table occupied besides ours. Of course, this is not something Uoksas can be blamed for, but it did take away from the overall atmosphere and sense of an authentic dining experience.
The wines, however, were exciting and delightful.
The service was excellent and attentive, but unfortunately, the price of €183 for two people did not match the overall quality of the experience.
