UOVO Marina del Rey

As someone who yearns for authentic food experiences, I was intrigued by the prospect of a dining chateau that has its noodles made in Italy with local ingredients and craftsmanship, and flown in overnight. It's the second best thing to visiting Italy. What I found was a delightful al dente experience that lives up to the hype. The genius of well made Italian cuisine is forging a few a iconic ingredients into an integrated delicious melange. Uovo hits this mark in a way so many places can't. Whereas high French cuisine often fails this test by including too many elements that fail to congeal into a unified dish, the pasta at Uovo boldly serves you a few elemental ingredients, each of which is essential to the dish. 10/10 wish my stomach was big enough to try the whole menu.

I would say this is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. There are multiple locations, previously I tried the Santa Monica location, but this was my first time at the Marina del Rey location. It’s located right next to the water in a small shopping center with plenty of free parking. Well, the parking is free for the first two hours. Inside is pretty small, and the line can get quite long, but service is fast so they tend to turn the tables pretty quickly. The menu is very large and has a ton of great options on it. It’s always a challenge to decide what to order. As noted the pasta is fresh and made in Italy and you can really taste the quality. I also love how dark it is on the inside, it really adds to the mood and it is also important to note that this is not a tipping restaurant, but they factor in a 16% surcharge onto the top of the bill. For this visit, I started off with the Beef Tartare and really enjoyed it. I wish they would’ve had more of a spice component to it, specifically, horseradish, or I wish there would’ve been more of a mustard seed flavor component, but still I enjoyed it and would recommend. From my entrée chose the Crema di Parmigiano and thought it was fantastic. I absolutely loved every bit of it and would highly recommend. I will be thinking about it for the next few days. It was that good. We also got a side of Roasted Broccolini and that felt that it was delicious. It added a really flavorful crunch on top of the pasta. I honestly loved my meal and already want to come back again soon to try a different items.

I highly recommend the tasting menu! It’s made for 2 people so you either need a pair or a party of 4. It’s a fun way to try several things on the menu. The Uovo in marina del Rey is right on the water so be ready for some peaceful and relaxing vibes. We definitely plan on going back for more!

Sadly, im been going to their other locations, we called to make reservations and whoever answered the phone this day, they literally were creepy... it sounded like I was calling a house, and I kept asking if I was calling the restaurant, the person said yes, what do you want... with a voice like he was on bed sleeping... I was like creeper out so we drive over, hostess was literally the worst person like we are in a fast food restaurant, made us wait... the sat us, and gave us the face of like here you are... the waiter was amazing, and kind so I have to give stars 🌟 to him for redemption. Anyhow, hope they can get better on their customers service over all!!

I would definitely fly all the way (15hrs) to LA for this pasta!!!!!!! The taste and the texture is worth the hype🤩🤩🤟🏻 I love the truffle pasta the most!❤️❤️❤️ And the MDR view just made the dining experience even more better🙌🏾

Delicious handmade pasta but no bread which was disappointing. Not even an option to buy bread and I always love some focaccia with my pasta! With no drinks, but with 5 main dishes, 2 vegetable sides, and 3 desserts, it came to about $50 per person but we had a lovely table overlooking the marina.

The Baseline: For an Italian sit down restaurant the food must use of prime Italian ingredients (garlic, tomatoes, cheese, basil), preparation of sauces and al dente pasta, the meal portion size must leave me feeling full, and the service needs me feeling like I am part of the family. Food: Yes! This. Yes! The pasta at UOVO is Italian imported and it shows. The pasta is al dente, evenly bodied, and scrumptious in it texture, consistency, and taste. The sauce/cheese complements and sticks to the pasta coating it in its deliciousness. We had the Ragu (meaty), the Carbonara (cheesy with Smokey pork), and the Cacio e Pepe (amazing) which was tossed in a bowled out Parmesan wheel to coat itself in the goodness of the cheese. I also had the Cavolfiori which is a simple garlic/pepper/olive oil roasted cauliflower that was nicely charred and brought out the simple flavors. For desert the Panna cotta con saba was also very good but only if you like the intensity of the grape syrup. Service: Great service the day we went. We sat at the bar rather than wait for a table so the advantage for bar seating is watching the chefs prepare your dishes in front of you and the efficient care they take in the preparation. Several wait staff were around to assist on delivering drinks and any other needs. Water bottle left on the bar so I could constantly refill my water. Ambiance: UOVO is located next to the Marina and is open to the outside so you can experience the cool sea air in Marina del Rey which is welcome on the summer afternoon of our visit. A mix of table and bar seating allows for a customizable experience on how you would like your meal. Bar seating is recommended if you wish to cut down the wait time. Also very clean bathrooms with a communal sink and individual bathroom stall rooms for privacy.

Pros: - Location and view are awesome. - Originality. No bread or pizzas, they concentrate on pastas. - Loved the taste of starters and pasta - My carbonara was delicious and literally exactly “al dente”. - Desserts are absolutely fantastic. 5 stars. - I liked the “no tips” concept. They charge you a an additional 16% which they call “fee.” - Service was great, everyone was kind and the host Miriam is very happy to help and explain everything. Cons: - No reservations. We waited more than an hour but you can walk around the lovely Marina. You can also order drinks while you wait. Ask for a table, the bar looked very crowded. It’s worth the wait. - Don’t forget to validate your parking ticket, if you don’t it’s a hefty 32 dlls. - I give the starters and pasta 4 out of 5 stars because of the presentation which I found kind of lackluster or kind of messy. - I ordered a beer while we waited. There was no amber beer and the manager scolded the host right in front of me because of that. It was embarrassing. I think they should talk that kind of business in private. I would definitely come back to have the tasting menu and other interesting dishes on the menu.

Service was great - they were very accommodating as we had a toddler in our party. The food was DELICIOUS. The wagyu tartare was mouth watering. The tuna was good but a little fishy. All the pastas were yummy. The carbonara was my favorite with crispy bits of pork. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but overall delicious food.

Speaking of the food, it never fails to impress. This time, we ordered the lasagna, spaghetti, crema di parmigiano, and broccolini, and every dish was perfection. The lasagna was rich, flavorful, and perfectly layered, a true testament to authentic Italian craftsmanship. The spaghetti was simple yet packed with bold flavors, showcasing the high-quality ingredients they are known for. The crema di parmigiano was a standout--luxuriously creamy with a perfect balance of parmesan that left us wanting more. Even the broccolini, often a simple side dish, was executed so well that it felt like a main attraction. The consistency at UOVO is remarkable. Every visit feels like a celebration of culinary excellence. Whether you're here for a casual dinner or a special occasion, UOVO makes you feel like family. The food here was delicious!! Went as a family for a celebration and we did the tasting/combo menu so we could try all their pastas. Everything was fresh, the pasta had a nice bite to it, and all the dishes were great! Big winners for our family was the ravioli, the sauce was unreal! Nice spot for a date overlooking the marina, and they've got some space heaters too which were great to balance out that colder ocean breeze. Service was fairly prompt and quick to respond, though they did get confused a few times when bringing the plates out (wrong dish for the person, or even bringing a dish meant for another table). Would recommend!

10/10 My absolute favorite restaurant. I visit weekly for lunch and dinner and it hits the mark every time. Not only is the staff friendly and sociable, but the ambiance of the restaurant is immaculate. Nestled in Marina Del Rey with a view of the water, you get a chance to unwind and be curious about how the fresh pasta shipped overnight from Italy is made in their open kitchen. My favorite to order is the Ragu and Roasted Broccolini, but they have a wide variety of pasta that should suite everyone's taste! A great place to go with a friend or on a romantic date night. They sadly do not take reservations, so expect to wait 30min-1hr for dinner on weekends unless you order to-go beforehand. Very reasonably priced!! Fun fact: Uovo means egg in Italian :)

Finally went to uovo after hearing about it from 3 different people! It's a small space so either get there early or late so you can get a seat without waiting. The tables outside by the boats in the marina are preferred but around the bar inside is fine if you are not with a large group. I went for lunch with one of the people who had been before so, following her recommendations we ordered the lasagne and one of the pasta tasting menus (only available for 2 people, but if you are truly a big eater I'm sure you could polish off the appetizer, all three pasta courses, and dessert by yourself). The lasagne for $18 was OK, but a bit dry and flavor was a bit bland. It was the most disappointing dish of the meal. The tasting menu was a very good way to sample the Italian pasta (all flown in fresh from Italy). The appetizer was a nice light yellowtail crudo with excellent olive oil. We chose the cheese and truffle tasting for $37 per person. Tagliatelle in truffle sauce, that barely tasted of truffles. Cacio e pépé that tasted good, but was swimming in oil. The pasta winner was overwhelmingly the simple pomodoro. Dessert of was tiramisu that was much too sweet for my taste, but everyone else enjoyed it. Service was friendly and efficient and the wine list was reasonable. The view, especially during the day is a perfect backdrop for lunch.

As a Yelp Elite, I've had my fair share of amazing dining experiences, but my recent visit to UOVO in Marina del Rey was truly exceptional and deserves to be shared. We chose to sit at the pasta bar, giving us a front-row seat to the culinary mastery of the chefs. Edwin, in particular, demonstrated incredible skill as he crafted the dishes we eagerly devoured. The Amatriciana and Carbonara stood out as absolute highlights--so extraordinary that I couldn't resist ordering a second helping, which I rarely do. The sides of cauliflower and broccolini were the perfect complements to our meal. And to top it all off, they serve Peroni, my favorite beer, which is a delightful rarity. The service was nothing short of exceptional, further elevating an already unforgettable experience. It's worth mentioning that UOVO operates on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis, and while there may be a wait, it's more than worth it. A heartfelt thank you to Edwin and the entire team for delivering such an outstanding dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend UOVO to anyone looking for impeccable food, ambiance, and service.

This is my second UOVO experience, the first being their Studio City location. The Marina del Rey location has 2-hour parking with parking validation, and plenty of space on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were friendly and welcoming, not skipping any details when providing a full menu walkthrough. For this visit, I had their Crema di Parmigiano, and it was delicious! Between their meat tortellini and Parmigiano-Reggiano, I wasn't sure which was the culprit of saltiness, but it was a tad too much for me. Outside of that, nothing beats a light brunch by the seaside - fresh air with light eats. There were no issues in splitting my friend and I's checks, and the experience from in to out was smoother than butter!

Lovely environment but the pasta seemed to be a bit lacking to me. Although it came out quickly it was not as dimensional in flavor as I thought it would be. I am definitely going to return and try another dish, I think I just picked one of the less dynamic ones HOWEVER it was still good!!! Enjoyable seating options looking out onto the marina! Best for smaller groups!

Absolutely fantastic lunch, outdoors overlooking the water. The food was outstanding. The crudo starter is a must, and was way beyond what we were expecting. A large portion, very fresh and accompanied perfectly with fruity olive oil, chiles and micro greens. A great start. The pasta here is fresh and flown in from Bologna daily - what? It is not your ordinary pasta dish. Just the right ratio of noodles to sauce and each bite had the right texture and chew. I must go back and try more. We ordered a veggie side, the cauliflower and it also was an outstanding version of itself. Perfectly charred and seasoned. The service was friendly and efficient. Just right. This really is a diamond in the rough. Wasn't expecting too much as it is a chain of some sort but it blew me away. YUM.

What's funny about this review is that it has been in my drafts since 2022 - At the time I was taken to dinner here by my now boyfriend for our third date. From what I recall the atmosphere was great for a dinner date. The food was great, and service was impeccable. We went around 6:30 when the sun was setting and it was such a view to see all the boats on the marina They had a three course tasting menu that had much to choose from and was delicious The ambiance was great, the service was awesome, and the food was good Definitely would recommend this place for a cute dinner date spot

Amazing views, vibes, and pasta! The restaurant is very small but intimate. It offers bar top seating, a few tables inside, and a few outside facing the waterfront. Service was very quick and attentive. We were able to bring in our own bottle of wine with an additional corkage fee. FOOD I highly recommend the tasting menu! They offer three different kinds for approximately $34-$37 pp. So worth it because you get to try more than one item. Appetizer: - Battuta di carne 5/5: Melts in your mouth delicious. All of the ingredients tied together so well. We opted for the cheese & truffle tasting menu. ($37 per person) - Yellowtail Crudo 5/5: Divine and so fresh! This too melted in our mouths. The pastas were cooked perfectly al dente! Textures were on point. Felt like every noodle strand was evenly coated. Each dish was approximately 4-6 bites. Overall such a great experience. - Tagliatelle in truffle sauce 5/5 - Pomodoro 4/5 -Cacio e Pepe 5/5 - Tiramisu al cucchiaio 4/5

I regret not trying Uovo sooner since I used to live so close to the Mid-Wilshire location. Since I knew Uovo had the same owners of Sugarfish, I wanted to try the Yellowtail Crudo (5 stars). It was my favorite dish. It was plated beautifully even as a takeout dish. The flavors of this craveable fish starter were balanced with citrus and subtle spice from the chili. I also had the Ravioli di Ricotta (4.5 stars). The pasta was rolled thinly that it cut easily with a fork. It was just thick enough to hold the yummy ricotta filling without it oozing on the sides. The pomodoro sauce was delicious. My husband ordered the Pomodoro (4 stars). The pasta had a good al dente bite and was covered in the pomodoro sauce. We also had the Funghi (3.5 stars). The roasted mushrooms tasted good and were seasoned well. However, I'm not sure I would order it again. I mainly ordered it to add veggies to my meal. Service was 4 stars. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the marina so it seemed busy on a Saturday evening when I got my takeout order. Even though my order was ready a few minutes after the pickup time, the friendly staff was very attentive and mindful that I was still waiting by giving me frequent order status updates.

What an absolute treat Uovo is. It's not often that you get to try pasta imported from Italy. Uovo stood out with their location alone being right on the marina, it a wonderful spot to sit relax and watch the boats go by. But once you step in you will see the unique tasting menus you can choose from, modern pasta bar aesthetic with moody ambiance that perfect for any dinner occasion. After much thought into the dish I wanted to devour, we were recommended the tasting menu so we could check out a little of everything. I ended up choosing the truffle pairing. The truffle pairing consist of four different fresh pasta dishes, and a dessert and appetizer to share. The timing on everything was absolutely immaculate. The yellowtail appetizer was absolutely delectable, the yellow towel, literally melting your mouth. As soon as we finish the appetizer with a minute or two, the fresh pasta was placed in front of us. The first pasta that was served was going to be the truffle, and it was full of truffle. It was absolutely amazing. The fresh pasta literally elevated the addition so many levels. I really enjoyed the truffle pairing, but I think next time I'd opt for the meat pairing dish. The couple next to us ordered that one and it looked great! Overall, the service, the amazing fresh pastas, and overall ambience was an amazing place to be on a Friday night to enjoy some dinner. I can't wait to go back and try other options.

Uovo is ALWAYS a must when we go to LA! We've been going to Uovo since 2018 and have been to every location now and the consistency in their quality is unmatched. My go-to here is the arrabbiata pasta and the truffle pasta. Both are just SOO good and the perfect combo of spicy and creamy. My partner and I have collectively gotten almost the entire menu and everything we've gotten has always been incredible. They don't take reservations so be ready to write your name down and grab a drink nearby. I also recommend going early (around 5 or 6pm) if you want to get seated immediately. For smaller parties, you can also sometimes get lucky and get a bar seat right away! The bar seats are always great because you can see the chefs work their magic with their open kitchen concept. Overall, if you haven't been to Uovo yet, you NEED to do it. You won't regret it!

Came here on a foggy Sunday evening without a reservation, and it was quite packed! My partner and I got on the list around 6-6:30pm and was told it would be an hour to hour and a half wait. The waiter was kind enough to validate our parking first in case we would need to repark during our wait. We walked around the dock which was really nice given the fog-and the wait ended up being around 30 minutes. We were seated at the counter promptly. I liked the ambiance inside, it was very dimly lit (a little tough to read the menu lol) and was a cozy temperature. It isn't a particularly large space so with so many people, it did feel a little cramped. We ordered the Amatriciana, Lasagna, and Cavifiori (cauliflower) to share between the both of us. The cauliflower was delicious, pretty simple with just garlic. The lasagna had a unique taste, not the typical red sauce but made with green pasta and had a meaty taste! I really liked it, it was soft and savory and might be my favorite out of the dishes. The amatriciana had a tomato sauce that was pretty standard, the noodles had a good amount of chew without being hard, and the fried pancetta was really delicious! In general, the dishes weren't mind-blowing but UOVO is a great option for some solid pasta dishes at a great location for a reasonable price!

Excellent food with a relatively simple menu and reasonably priced wines. My favorite is the Carbonara. This location is great because of the view-- especially if you manage to get one of the tables. I also like that this restaurant just does a service charge with no tipping. There is a parking lot and you can get validation for up to 2 hours. The negatives? You can't make reservations and there is often a long wait! I can't believe I waited for 1.5 hours for a restaurant in LA. They need to have at least some availability for reservations days before with the rest for walk ins (tables vs counter?). The 2 hours parking validation is not enough when you wait to get seated for 1.5 hours. The other negative-- the tiramisu is disappointing.

This spot is a gem for pasta lovers! The dishes are delicious(portions are on the small side), complemented by attentive service and stunning harbor views. The cozy ambiance makes it a perfect pick for a romantic date night. Definitely worth a visit!

Not impressed. Not bad... but not anything that makes me say wow! Or pay $50+ per person (no alcoholic drinks) for a lunch (excluding dessert). Service was ok. Inside is mainly sitting at the bar on stools. Patio sitting has a nice view of the marina boats and open to the outside. They have heaters so it makes it comfortable. We came and stood for a good 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were waiting for a table. Their noodles (pasta) are handmade and are good. I heard from friends that their Truffle butter Pasta was good. Perhaps that's what I should have ordered instead. The server did tell me it was popular. Perhaps an off-day or time. Nevertheless, not feeling inclined to come back. Maybe I'll change my mind after a while...idk yet. Important: be sure to validate your parking ticket with the server otherwise you will be paying a LOT for parking.

Came to UOVO at this location for my late birthday dinner since at the Studio City location the day before it was an hour and a half wait to eat at the bar. As an avid lover of Italian food, I found the pasta here to be absolutely delicious. Their pasta is imported from Italy. I was originally planning on ordering the Cacio e Pepe, but when I saw that the Carbonara had guanciale imported from Italy I could not resist! Guanciale is an Italian meat that is very rare to find in America (trust me I've tried) so I was so excited to see that UOVO served it with their food. The Carbonara was perfect- very rich and full of flavor, and the guanciale was amazing as well, 10/10. I tried the Ravioli too and it was probably the best Ravioli I've ever had. I also tried the Vongole and that was great. The side of Broccolini was seasoned very well. Their prices are reasonable for being a nice Italian restaurant in LA. The location is beautiful, with a scenic view of the Marina. However the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they don't take reservations (it's first come first serve), and the wait is always extremely long. For a party of 3 I was told 30 minutes to an hour and we waited an hour to get seated. They also don't serve bread like most Italian restaurants do, which would of been nice especially after having to wait so long for a table.

I've had my eye on this restaurant for ages, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! My sister and I decided to indulge in the Classic Tasting Menu for just $34 each, and every bite was a revelation. Yellowtail Crudo: 10/10 This dish was pure perfection! The yellowtail was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. Each ingredient harmonized beautifully, making it a standout starter that set the bar high for the rest of the meal. Pomodorini e Basilico: 10/10 Don't let its simplicity fool you--this pasta dish was a triumph! Cooked to absolute perfection, it was delightfully refreshing and showcased the magic of quality ingredients. Vongole: 6/10 I had high hopes for this one, as I'm a huge fan of vongole. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. While the clams and pasta were well-prepared, the flavors lacked the punch I was craving. A bit of a letdown, but it didn't ruin the experience. Pomodoro: 9/10 This dish was magnificent! What may seem like basic ingredients turned into a flavor explosion. The tomato sauce was rich and vibrant, perfectly complementing the impeccably cooked pasta. A must-try! Tiramisu al cucchiaio: 10/10 I rarely encounter a disappointing tiramisu, and this one was no exception! Beautifully presented and expertly crafted, it was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. To top it all off, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. If you're looking for a dining experience that balances quality, flavor, and warmth, this place is a must-visit! Can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

They don't take reservations, so it took about an hour to get seated, which was disappointing. However, the appetizers--yellowtail crudo and battuta di carne--were absolutely delicious. I had some reservations about trying raw beef, but it turned out to be great. The pasta was fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The waiter recommended the truffle pasta, and I'm glad I tried it; it was yummy! This is the spot if you're looking for a great pasta place.

Okay so I never give anything 5 stars unless I'm really impressed, and this place was it for me. Unpopular opinion, but I didn't care for the Ragu at all. I know it's the most popular thing on the menu but I would say skip it. It was super oily and had like a strong meat flavor. I didn't care for it. 3/5 for the Ragu. But we got the Pomodoro and WOW everything about this simple dish was so good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and so soft. The sauce was to die for. It was easily the best thing we tried. Also ordered the broccolini which was best I've ever had and the mushrooms as well. The last pasta dish we had was the Amatriciana which is similiar to the Pomodoro but it had chile flakes in the sauce and it had meat. This was also really good but doesn't come close to the Pomodoro. Overall, everything here was amazing. The place is crowded for a reason! Parking is shopping center parking right infront.

Uovo in Marina del Rey is my absolute favorite Uovo location. It's situated right on the Marina with amazing views! The pasta here is absolutely amazing and fresh. My food lover friend recommended me to come here. I heard that UOVO is a pasta shop run by Japanese people and inspired by ramen, and they don't serve salads or coffee. I went with my friend who was suspected of having diabetes. She always checks up on her sugar level with her iPhone. She was complaining about that whenever she eats pasta, her sugar level goes up pretty high. Guess what happened! Her sugar level didn't rase up with their pasta!!! We don't know why?? The pasta had a pretty harsh taste. The portion was so small that I ended up going to the cake store. Their service is very friendly and patient. Pretty knowledgeable regarding aged cheese and pastas. Mainly, their tables were outside and in the water front. There were bar seats but no table inside. If you go there, don't forget to bring jackets. The only sad part was pasta gets cold super quickly due to a sea breeze. So don't talk and eat asap. And another sad part was the table is not flat at all. A slope of about 18 degrees. This is a recommended place if you want to spill water on your friend's clothes on purpose. I still don't mind my friend spilling water or wine on me, because their pasta tastes pretty good anyway.

This is the one place outside of Italy where you can find fresh pasta made by hand daily, and it's absolutely worth the wait! We waited about 35 minutes, but after experiencing the food, we knew it was time well spent. Unable to choose from the many incredible pasta options, we opted for the tasting menu - and we're so glad we did. Every dish was simply divine. The ambiance by the pier was enchanting, and the service was excellent, making the experience even more enjoyable. We savored each dish, and the short wait between courses only heightened our anticipation for the next one. The tiramisu was a delightful and unique twist on a classic, leaving us eager for more. We'll definitely be returning!

We were a party 7 on a Wednesday night. I had guests from out of town and I was excited to take them to this spot. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but we took a chance and walked in. We had a 30-45mm wait. We walked down the marina but then we got the text sooner and we rushed back when another text said they would give the table to the next party. We still had to wait at least 10mms. They were out of pasta a la carbonara (4 of our party had ordered it because the waiter recommended it) and another dish . The portions are small, they don't serve bread and the waiter forgot to bring the bottle of wine and soft drinks. We got the wine after the food. I would put 1 for the experience but a 2 for the view and the tiramisu.

This restaurant gives one of the BEST food tasting menus around! Ordered the Cheese & Truffle tasting! Yellow Crudo Tagliatelle in Truffle Sauce Pomodoro Caico e Pepe Tiramisu Al cucchiaio. This is the best option because you try a sma amount of their best dishes, cooked to order by the most talented chefs. Delicious wine menu! Also, beautiful view of a the harbor from Anywhere in the restaurant. Amazing service, hars working and talented staff, delicious food.

We went as a party of 8 to Uovo in Marina Del Rey for my birthday. They worked hard to find us a table - moving several around - so we could all fit and sit right away which was wonderful since the group was super hungry. Great service throughout the meal, even though there was a long space in the courses at one point. We had Carbonara and 2 tasting menus - the Cheese & Truffle and The Regional which was very meaty. As a group, we enjoyed the Yellowtail Crudo (even some of the non-sushi fans) and did NOT enjoy the Battuta di carne. The Yellowtail was wonderfully seasoned and sliced thinly while the Battuta was under-seasoned and tiny chopped up raw meat which was formed into a patty shape instead of thinly sliced like the fish. We actually added the dressing mixture from the yellowtail to the meat to make it better since the teenagers were starving. Everyone's favorite pasta was the Tagliatelle in truffle sauce - OMG, that sauce was to die for! We all liked the rest of the sauces and the pasta was always perfectly cooked but the truffle sauce was the hit for the whole group. The two members who chose the carbonara really enjoyed the dish and there were lovely smokey pieces of guanciale that gave it a distinct taste compared to other carbonaras we have enjoyed before. The Amatriciana had a little kick to it from the red chili pepper so if spicy isn't your thing be warned. We did find it a little odd to have cream, tomato and then cream sauces - I think it makes more sense to start with light and go to red like they do in wine tasting. We also had wine with the meal and it was fine and reasonably priced. When we go back, I wouldn't get the tasting menu again as it was a lot of food, but it was a great way to try several pastas and get some ideas about what we liked the most.

My recent visit to Uovo was an experience to remember. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the noodles. It's hard to put into words, but they were extremely fresh, cooked al dente, and had a thick, satisfying chew that set them apart. The service was excellent, thanks to our attentive waitress who treated us very well. The ambiance added to the overall experience, being very trendy and stylish. However, be prepared for a bit of chaos and pretense when it comes to getting a table. Uovo doesn't take reservations and seems to be quite aware of its popularity, which can come off as a bit snobbish. Despite the wait and a touch of snobbery, I highly recommend Uovo for its authentic Italian food. It's worth it, just be prepared for the experience.

Sister was in town and this was the 1st bougie place we decided to go to (2nd being Erewhon - you can read on that separately). I say it's bougie because it's pasta flown in from Italy that you're paying a premium for. Note: you can park in the lot WITH validation. (She told me this was a new thing for the plaza.) There can be a line, so make sure to come early if you prefer to sit outside overlooking the marina. Ordered "The Classic" tasting menu to share - it was actually pretty good! None of the pasta stuck together and it was all perfectly cooked and seasoned. Some of the best Italian I've had for sure. I would pass on the tiramisu though, it was just watery. (Only had it since it was part of the tasting menu.) The only drawback was that the pacing of the dishes wasn't that great (huge gap between the 1st and 2nd pastas), and when it was time to pay they just didn't seem to want to take our CC. Solid 4 stars.

Uovo in Marina Del Rey is my happy place. The food is beyond delicious- you'll keep wanting more and more dishes. The ambiance overlooking the Marina is gorgeous, tranquil and gives you all the feels at sunset. The service is excellent and tip is already included in the bill so you don't have to worry about how much to leave - it's very reasonable and worth it. We like doing the pairing menu, but really all dishes here are excellent.

Check out this super cute and intimate Italian spot. My boyfriend and I enjoyed thier 5 course menu option and it's so filling! I started with the broccolini which were so tasty and mouth watery. Then we had the yellow tail, I'd rate it a 3/5. I loved all the pastas but enjoyed the butter and cream the most! It was busy and our server was so attentive and helpful in making our first experience great. I definitely want to come back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining inside Uovo, and it was an exceptional experience. Observing the chef at work was a delightful spectacle. Every dish was served piping hot and was absolutely delectable. The staff were exceedingly courteous, and the ambiance was both cozy and intimate, with dim lighting and candlelight enhancing the atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for a date night. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, I find myself thinking about it daily!

Absolutely loved this dining experience. It's located overlooking the water and there are some tables on the patio - likely to be full on a nice day. We sat inside around the counter so didn't have that waterfront ambiance, but it felt more like we were getting a kitchen show, since all the pasta was cooked right in front of us. Ordered the Amatriciana, Pomodoro, and the special White Truffle pasta, broccolini, and tiramisu. All of it was amazing. The white truffle pasta looks understated and simple but it was to die for. Yes it's a bit rich, but if you're eating white truffle pasta, that's probably expected. But it wasn't too dense. Everything was just perfect. I think the Pomodoro was my next favorite for it's simplicity but it was all good. The broccolini is a must! Service is friendly but you could tell they were trying to be efficient since a line was definitely forming after about 5pm. Yes I started dinner before 5pm...There's not a lot of great space to wait, so if you're waiting, you'll likely need to wait outside along the railing. Bathrooms are unisex behind a sliding door inside. Parking is gated with a ticket but I think it ended up being free so it must give so much time free but I can't remember. I'd love to come back one day and sit outside on the patio with some wine and pasta and enjoy the sunset.

I love Uovo. It's consistently good and reasonably priced for fresh pasta and a stunning location in Marina del Rey. They take the really simple and do it incredibly well. I also love getting the tasting menus to try a variety of their wonderful pasta. Carbonara, and pomodoro are my personal faves! Only downside is I wish their tiramisu was a bit better? Its more cream than lady finger but thats just a personal preference! Servers are always attentive and quick! Only downside is no reservations so just be prepared for a bit of a wait.

It's been years since I was at the first UOVO in LA (can't believe how much time has passed that there are now multiple locations) but this recent visit was a worthy reminder of what a truly excellent establishment this place is. Convenient location, no surprise next to Kazu Nori (including a shared bathroom) and HiHo across the way. New this month: parking is now paid/gated which was the only (slight) inconvenience I experienced this visit. I still love the no-frills aspect of ordering and service already being tacked on to everything be it a glass of wine you order pre-dinner (and yes you can do that and hang outside while you wait) or the meal itself. Every single dish we had was truly amazing - simple but perfectly cooked, sauced, seasoned. So authentic - my carbonara brought me right back to Rome. Even the simpe arugula/hearts of palm/almonds salad we had to start and cauliflower side we got to round out our meal were absolutely delicious. The size of the menu is just right (dare I say even a few more options including special offerings than I recall from my very 1st visit?) Best of all, everyone here was so...NICE. No reservations/waitlist only could get tedious but somehow even for our group of 3 at prime time, everything was enjoyable with how kind the staff was from supporting pre-dinner wine to at the end ensuring we didn't feel super rushed (although we were uber mindful of the wait so cleared as quickly as we could). Bravo!

I went here for my birthday and had a great experience! I told the worker it was my birthday and our first time here, and he sat us outside with an amazing view! Granted, it was very busy for a Saturday lunch! We were so thankful we were able to sit outside. We tried the truffle tasting menu! By far my most favorite dish was the truffle tagliatelle pasta!!! I wanted to lick the plate because the sauce was so yummy! We ended up ordering a plate of ravioli because my husband was still hungry. I think next time we'll order full plates! Will definitely want the truffle tagliatelle again! Overall, it was such a great experience. So happy I spent my birthday here!

The noodles and ingredients are top tier. This restaurant is nestled in the quiet town of Marina Del Rey. Its atmosphere is "casual, cool", literally and figuratively. This place exudes cool, casual, in a good way! The views are relaxing, a good seat inside is of the open air (literally and figuratively) kitchen. You get to see the hard workers prepare the delicate plates the servers promptly give to you. I recommend coming here early as they do get busy with very limited seating for large parties. This place is a gem!

Amazing food and my husband is a picky Italian! A very long wait but were comped the most delicious ravioli appetizer. The yellow fish crudo lives up to the hype... amazing. Although I wish they served bread or ? Our pasta dishes were great although hard to see because of lighting. Excellent dinner with good friends

We did a fun family bike ride and zipped past the diners at UOVO overlooking the marina. On the way back, the fam voted for a pasta lunch. So glad we did! We've seen UOVO restaurants all over the place from Santa Monica to Studio City, but always relegated it as a chain pasta place. Our apologies. This place is legit. The amatriciana dish was spectacular with the crispy bits of pork in a tasty, subtly spicy red sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The vongole was good, but I've had a lot of great vongoles in my years and this one didn't have the strong seafood flavor I like. Still, it was great especially when I mixed in the mind-blowing mushrooms we ordered as a side. I'm not the biggest mushroom fan, but these things are next level. Beyond the food, the staff was attentive and welcoming. They're dog friendly, btw. They immediately brought our guy a big bowl of water. As far as ambiance, how can you beat a view of water and boats on a beautiful, sunny day. We're huge fans and we'll definitely be back. I think we'll time it to have a sunset meal next visit!

Last night, we had a blast at this Italian spot in Marina Del Ray! Even though we waited an hour for a table, it was worth it. The hostess took my number and texted me when our table was ready--props for that! We went for the Cheese & Truffle tasting menu ($37 per person), a flavor explosion! The Yellowtail Crudo and Tagliatelle in truffle sauce were top-notch, fresh, and flavorful. Sure, there was a wait between courses, but who cares when the food's this good? And the Tiramisu al cucchiaio? Chef's kiss. Unique ambiance; great for first dates and catching up with friends. Service was on point all night--10 out of 10. If you want legit Italian eats, this spot's the real deal. Highly recommend! Free, easy parking.

I loved the 4 course meal. I had never experienced pasta like this before, each plate was a new experience. The wait was about 20min and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine while we waited. I loved the view and will be returning soon!

Being an LMU Mom, I needed to look up good restaurants nearby. This has been on my list for a while and I regret not coming sooner. The pastas are so fresh and delicious that this will be our new go to place. Pastas flown in daily from Italy! The service was great, our food came out quick. The view was amazing. Th e owner came by to ask us how everything was and where we were from. He said he loved the LMU community. This family loves him and his restaurant! Also, it's a no tipping establishment, it is built in, but nothing crazy (16%). No substitutions, because they know what makes it great.
