Yelp
Oh the travesty of this establishment. I love to support new businesses and went here with high hopes for a fun night out. The ingredients of a decent place were all there. Some funky theme, outdoor seating, local brew, and newly opened. This proves that despite decent ingredients, you still need a competent owner to pull it together.
The theme of this place is a disaster. Classic cocktails, but decorated in original Nintendo memorabilia. This could be overlooked if the owners weren't such a bag of idiots.
Upon approaching the bar, we looked over the menu, ordered a few drinks from the list, and asked if a Moscow mule was available. The response was 'does that have milk in it?' After quickly dismissing that request, we were told that the owners were behind the bar, and neither was a bartender. They just opened a bar. - Strike 1
The other drinks were served, and were of reasonable quality, but we were immediately rushed to pay for them, before even trying them. - Strike 2
They only accept cash. I understand they just opened, but read on...
The drink prices are high, real high. I can get a drink on the deck at Boon's overlooking the water for the same price, yet this place is overlooking nothing, except Main St in Saco. - Strike 3
I inquired if they had an ATM, at which time they told me they were a mom and pop operation and their ATM wasn't working. Not sure what being a mom and pop has to do with their ATM not working, but hey, no bartenders at a bar seemed logical, so general logic doesn't seem to apply to these folks.
I drank my drink, played some Nintendo, and inquired to the owners about the cash only aspect. Were they planning on getting a credit card machine? The answer sealed the deal for me. To summarize, the gentleman stated that credit cards were the problem with america. They screw over the people who use them, and they screw the businesses that take them, and they were hoping to never take credit cards. - Strike 4
Now I understand that there is a fee with credit cards, usually around 3%. This is the 21st century, most people don't carry tons of cash around. Also I'm not responsible for the fact that you got a credit card and never paid anything off, and you don't have an understanding of how the world works, but I actually get PAID to use my credit card.
To summarize, this place is run by the kids of the building owner. They don't understand what it takes to be successful.
