First time here . Bryan is amazing . Food is better than what my expectation was for sure. It was absolutely delicious. LOOK AT THAT PIZZA !!!! Oh yeah and bill is very comfortable. Fair prices . Amazing service . CRAZY GOOD PIZZA . If you have not tried this place it should be on the list for sure

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant in the past, which made me hesitant to return. However, I decided to give it another chance today, and I'm so glad I did! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. It was a complete turnaround from my previous visit, and I truly appreciate the improvements. I will definitely be coming back! Excuse the picture of the plate, taking a photo with all the food on it is too main stream plus it looked too good to devote the 10 seconds of taking one once it was placed in front of me!

The dining area is nice. The bar is also a very great area as well. Ask them to make you a gin negroni and you won't be disappointed. Also, the mini burgers are delicious!

Great Atmosphere and Service at Up North Ale House I visited Up North Ale House while on a business trip with a large party of 14. The restaurant accommodated us well, placing us in a separate room, which made for a comfortable dining experience despite the trivia night crowd. The atmosphere was casual and lively. The service was fantastic—attentive and friendly. We ordered several appetizers, including Calamari, Seared Tuna, Brussels Sprouts, Buffalo Cauliflower, and Mozzarella Sticks, and they were all fantastic. I personally ordered the Chicken Piccata, which was well-presented and tasted great. While some in our party had mixed feelings about their meals, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would happily return to Up North Ale House. It’s a solid choice for good food and a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

Today was my first time here. I drive by this place all the time, so I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was open and airy. I went early to avoid the crowd so I could get a good feel for the restaurant. We were greeted quickly and seated at a table immediately. The server was prompt and polite. I did ask her questions about the menu to see how well she knew the items, and she was very helpful. Both of our dishes were really good and cooked perfectly. We ended up ordering burgers, and they did not disappoint. The menu had a ton of tasty sounding items, so I will need to go back to try more selections. I would definitely recommend you give this place a try as it was very good.

My wife and I love this place. Food is great. Staff are great. Only issue I had was a my order wasn't spot on once. Food was still good. And the staff gave me a discount on my order for it being incorrect. 10/10 would reccomend. I enjoy bringing family and friends here.

Wow! First time visiting and I was impressed. Service was terrific - Nikos was friendly, patient, and incredibly thoughtful and attentive. I had a lovely glass of wine and a yummy burger cooked perfectly and some tasty potato wedges. Absolutely will be back! Oh and the Brussel sprouts appetizer is a hit! Do not miss!

I didn't come here with wings in mind, but on my way out a customer told his friends he was coming back just based on the wings alone. Then I saw they were on special for 99 cents a piece. I wasn't expecting much but what came out where huge, crispy, and absolutely delicious wings. I'm mad they are so good because there is so much else I want to try, but it will be hard to pass those wings up. We had the Gouda Mac and cheese bites as an appetizer for the table. My wife had the pineapple bourbon burger, and our friends had the short rib Alfredo and the Pappardelle Bolognese and they all looked fantastic. It was confirmed by everyone that was the case. I wish we had more room because they have a fried ice cream dessert that I would love to try as I've not had that since Chi-Chi's was still around. Sorry I forgot to take pictures, I'll add some next time.

Food is fabulous & beer selection is excellent, but what I like best is the ability to "buy the kitchen a round" if you enjoy the food...for $20 how can you not? We started w the Bavarian and it's huge & delicious! I was warned the chic parm was huge and it was...I could only eat half. Spaghetti it was served w was excellent and the chicken was perfectly cooked. My "date" had the salmon & swears it was the best he ever had....but he also had the tots and sweet potato fries so he may not have the most refined palate. Excellent service from Spencer and love that we could a table at 7 pm on a Sat night. Always love the food

Great food! Good service. Buffalo breaded cauliflower was delicious. Thin coating of breading on fresh cauliflower vs all breading with a tiny bit of cauliflower, which is what you get at most restaurants. Nice strong buffalo flavor! Normally topped with blue cheese crumbles and a side of blue cheese. We got it with no blue cheese, and opted for a side of ranch. Yum! We got a medium (14") pizza with onions. It was absolutely amazing. Crust is thicker than thin, thinner than pan. Crispy perfection! Cheese was real, not that cheap artificial stuff many restaurants use. They could have been more generous with the onions ($2.75). Served piping hot. Pizza was half price (Thursday special). Great deal!!! Pop was flat, but Jenny, our waitress replaced it with one from "the back, because the front one tends to be flat." Huh? Overall a great experience, with some exceptional food.

I had such a great experience at Up North ! I came in alone, on a Friday night, just expecting to get a drink, but I ended up having a wonderful experience. Melissa greeted me with such enthusiasm, and contagious laughter. Jack was so welcoming; introduced himself to me, and brought me a beer within 15 seconds of me sitting down, despite it being busy. After that, Alexa approached me; her smile and positive energy was infectious . The specials are great !! and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Their live entertainment was awesome.. he was a great singer and not too loud, like a lot of places LOL. Whether you're solo, a couple, or a family, UpNorth is a top tier choice!!. I'll definitely be back.

Up North is a solid local place for bar food and drinks. Several drink specials from tap choices to cocktails. Not the fastest in terms of service but still attentive. Southwest burger and potato wedges were good, as were parmesan garlic wings and the create your own pasta-fettucine alfredo-was enjoyed as well. The highlight for me was the Fried Ice Cream, which I haven't had in years.

We dined at up north for a Friday lunch. We were shocked that there was literally no one in the restaurant. Hoping this meant we would have excellent service, that wasn't exactly the case. They had an issue with their pop machine, so the Pepsi came out after our food. I had ordered a salad with avocado, and they neglected to add the avocado. They did bring me a side after I pointed this out. However, the food was very good. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Overall, not a bad experience, and I would probably come again if I'm in the area.

I love this place. We live less than 10 minutes from Up North and they are fast becoming our go-to spot. The service is always great, menu options are wonderful, food is always prepared right and tastes delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and the patio is nice(has a great open bar that connects with the inside). The prices are some of the best around. There aren't many places where you can get quality food for a relatively low price. Any time my wife and I have eaten dinner here, its been well under $100 and that's with tip. Drink selection is great too. A good amount for the craft beer lover. Hope these guys are around for many years to come.

A really nice family friendly ale house!! The food was better than we expected and it was pretty busy for a Saturday night! We did call in advance just in case. We highly recommend the Mac n cheese bites and soft pretzel as starters. We were also super impressed with the steak wrap and the chicken Philly! We would come back. I earned a yelp coupon when I checked in on the app, and they were great about honoring it!

Easy parking. Inside-industrial, no booths or couches- not sure it would be comfortable to sit and watch sports for too long. Nice list of beers (of course)-daily specials on drinks and food-incl sat/sun. Chili was good-bowl is a large portion. Patty melt was good but the Patty much smaller than the white bread it comes with so you feel like ur getting more bun than meat. Service was good- friendly host and server checked in w us several times. Would prob go again

Perfect summer weather to sit in the patio. Had a cool breeze and there were no bees or flies since we were the only ones during lunch. We started out with calamari and nachos. Calamari weren't too salty and were crispy. Nachos was bigger than I had thought and couldn't finish it for 2 ppl. Came on a Sunday so they had $0.99 wings order 8 at a time. So got myself wings with Buffalo sauce. They were decent size wings and couldn't finish them either. Definitely would like to come back to try something else on their menu.

They have daily deals that would be great for a happy hour or to watch a game. I got pizza and Mac and cheese bites.

I'm not usually one to write reviews but I couldn't resist. We've always had great , reasonably priced food and wonderful service so I decided to have my daughter's graduation party there. Our guests were delighted with the warm atmosphere, quality and amount of food and most of all Brian our event manager/ server. I was amazed at how easily everything came together. It was the perfect place to celebrate!

It was a slower night, they have sports on the tvs. Love that they serve pepsi products. Bbq is a lil sweet which I love I hate when it's mixed with hot sauce, but they have that option for people who do potato taste great asparagus a little cold but so good. Overall good place to go, in would go here again. Servers are nice too.

Everyone knows which direction to go to get good beer and food. It would be in the direction of this establishment in Naperville. Up North has lots of local beers on tap. Of course you also need to eat. They have quite a big menu and it's not all greasy bar food either as there's salads and wraps. Came with a cute friend. It was happy hour so it was time to get happy. There's always specials going on. Fridays is discounts on Goose Island drafts. It's $5 on a pint each. These include the Neon Bear Hug. Also we had to eat. She had a salad. It looked okay. The best sounding thing to me was the Hummus Wrap. It's $12.99, which was the worst sounding part. This is full of stuff. Hummus of course. There's also avocados, baby spinach, carrots, cucumbers, pesto mayonnaise, and tomatoes. Get it vegan without mayonnaise. This also comes with chips and salsa. Hummus always makes vegetables taste better. This was making up for guzzling the booze and a much healthier choice than something such as fries. Has a pretty cool looking bar so grab a seat and a beer. It always has a special so check what you can save on. The food is typical of a bar mostly but also has salads and wraps.

Stopped in for lunch and had a great server & burger. Brian was friendly, attentive and enjoyable. We had a sour and the Pineapple bourbon burger. Both the beer & meal was great! We will be back.

We were looking for an craft brew restaurant. Came across this place. The drinks... Wife ordered the strawberry vodka lemonade drink and the vodka was not found. My beer however was cold and good. The food... Wife had the burger and it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Fries were hot and salted well. I had a steak wrap and was good and flavorful but the wrap did not hold up well. Dripped everywhere and became soggy and gummy. I emptied the wrap and just ate the contents . Service... Seated quickly and served fast. The gentleman food running was phenomenal. We asked for extra Ketchup and a minute later... Bam ! done .

Nice patio. Food is decent however pricey for the small portions. For example here is an $8 kids portion of spaghetti with marinara. I may come back for a beer and app but will not come back for a whole meal.

Fairly new local restaurant with a nice bar area. I had the Vodka Thyme that I highly recommend. It was not too sweet and not too tart. Nice pour of vodka. Burgers were awesome! My hubby and I shared the black and blue and man it was cooked to perfection! Medium well with a side of sweet potato fries. We did have to send back the fries as they were not even room temperature. They brought back a fresh batch immediately and those were perfect. We got a platter of wings. The lemon pepper was mildly seasoned so make sure to ask for extra seasoning. The mild were extremely mild like basically fried wings with a splash of garlic salt or something. They were definitely good though. Now for the reason of 4 vs 5 stars. THE SERVICE!! Ugggg why is it so hard to just do your job and be attentive. We had to flag down a random server to put in our order. That should never happen! Once she realized someone else was gonna get her tip she stepped it up but Dangit why does it have to be like that!! Other than that we really enjoyed the ambiance, food and drinks.

I wanted to write an updated review. Our hiking group often stops here after our hikes. They handle our group well. Today we had the most excellent service from Brian (sorry not sure if Brian/Bryan). We had a group of about 20. Not only did he give us an big back area, he was on top of it. He was hustling running orders, grabbing drinks, separating checks, etc. He was wonderful. I know it was stressful for him. Excellent customer service and truly went above and beyond. And burgers here are always amazing! Just saying!

Words really can't do sufficient Justice with writing this review. Dave and Spencer would have made the brand extremely proud of the impeccable service provided tonight. The ribeye steak was unbelievably delicious again, praise to Leo and his team. I always think the dinner experience can't be topped yet somehow it is. Thank you so much! Cindy & Greg

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Up North Ale House Restaurant, and I must say that while the restaurant offers exceptional service and a delightful ambiance, the quality of the food fell short of my expectations. It is unfortunate that the nachos I ordered were disappointingly stale. The chips lacked the desirable crispness one would expect, and their taste was noticeably bland. This flaw in the preparation of the nachos significantly affected my overall enjoyment of the meal. I ordered chicken nachos and they hardly had 3-4 pieces of chicken.

Nice ambiance, modern and lively! After reading mixed reviews my family and I gave it a try. The outdoor patio is nice and the service was good. Outside of that I would rather go to a restaurant chain. The food was lack luster and has no seasoning. We had the nachos pretty boring and the chili sauce was gross and didn't help. The patty melt was decent and the coleslaw was ok. The bacon cheeseburger was mediocre and the chicken sandwich was not good at all. We also got a small pizza that want very good. I've had frozen pizza that was much better. We spent a fair amount of money ($100) and based on the prices the food didn't meet expectations.

My first time eating here and I can't wait to go back. Our waiter , Brian was super nice and friendly and gave us his honest opinion when I asked him about what to get . Everything was very clean in there and Brian was wearing a mask the entire time . The food was SO good !! Nothing bad to say about any of it . We did get the Reese's cookie and ice scream for dessert too and it was all perfect for sharing . It's a very nice place they also have outdoor seating but we chose to dine inside . Bathrooms were spotless and they actually cleaned them right before I went in . Great place and will def be returning

This is such an awesome spot to watch a game! My family and friends had a great experience. The space is cool and modern feeling. Our waitress was so excited about the menu and was super attentive. We ordered the Avocado Chicken Sandwich (I got the soup of the day on the side which was Chicken Tortilla), Pork Chop, Prime Top Sirloin, and Wings. Everyone loved their meals! Also, wings are half off on Sunday's which is great.

I've been here twice and it is a solid spot. Only been here for lunch, however, I can imagine the dinner plates are equally as good as what I've had on the lunch menu. They have everything from burgers to some classic pasta dishes. Today I enjoyed the steak wrap and tots I had for lunch. Tender, razor thin steak slices piled into a basil wrap with cheese and lots of goodness. Up North has a great beer selection with plenty of local favorites and a strong variety of ciders, sours, IPAs and lagers. Service has been spot on both times, giving you plenty of time to read through the menu and suggest the latest beverage featured on tap. The bar area is nice sized, with a separate dining area and outside seating if you choose.

This place tries to punch above its weight and fails miserably. It is modern looking and clean with expensive steak and pasta options. I was hesitant to try those options and I am glad I didn't. I ate the $15 spicy chicken wrap and asked for the dry rub. What came was devoid of any flavor whatsoever. There was nothing on the chicken. It was supposed to have ranch dressing as well and there was none to taste at least. What I had, I would expect eating if I were in a cafeteria. To add insult to injury, I ordered a beer that never came. We will not be back.

I love this place !!! I have been 4 times now and all times the food has been delicious ! I really love the Mac n cheese bite . The burgers are great too! Service has always been great too!

Went for dinner and drinks with a friend, but won't be back. Their side salad is $7 but definitely not worth it. I got a pizza, which the sauce was very sweet... almost too sweet. My friend got the build your own alfredo pasta, and it was very bland and the portions were for a child. For how expensive everything is, it includes no taste. Not very worth it at all.

At my whole meal in about 2 minutes. I did not feel very full after my 2 course meal. All of my skinny friends were very happy but the vibe was not for bigger people. I felt judged when I asked for a tub of cream cheese and didn't receive my request. The butter was very good although I would of liked my cream cheese. when I asked to take some dream cheese home after being denied a full tub I was asked to leave after refusing to go without cream cheese. Overall five stars.

Explored bars around the suburbs and came upon this Gem, it has a very clean building, with an awesome set up. The bar is both outdoor and indoor, the restrooms are clean and have a cool sink system. The service is beyond amazing, the waiter/waitresses are professional, fun, and eager to serve custom drinks. This is my new go-to, great service here. will recommend and Thank you! p.s. The wings are full, delicious, authentic chicken wings. Absolutely filling. New edit: I've been to this ale house over 7 times now, this place has the best bar food and gives great service with an amazing playlist, and just an overall great atmosphere. My servers have been Tess, Marco, and Noelle. Those servers have gone above and beyond the call of service and always brings me happiness to see them available to serve me my food and drinks.. Don't miss out on these people and treasure of an Ale House. Absolutely the best bar in Kane County.

AMAZING Gluten free pizza!! We are a gluten free family and picky about our pizza. We tried the GF crust pizza today and it was outstanding!!! Awesome service & awesome food! We'll be back very soon!

Patio is really nice and the restaurant had a relaxing vibe to it. The service was really good and our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the beers. The food was decent, it lacked flavor but overall we had a good experience.

My husband and I come to Up North before we go watch our son play hockey in the area. Lucky for us we have lots of games because we LVE Up North. We belly up to the bar and grab a few drinks and quick bites. The wings are AWESOME and everything we have ordered is fresh and really yummy. I highly recommend the Avocado Chicken Sandwich. I get mine without the bun and it is so delish. The best part about UP North is the outstanding customer service. Jack, the bartender, is our favorite one in Naperville. He is very personable, professional, does not hover (like some bartenders at other restaurants do), has a good sense of humor and best of all he always makes sure our drinks are full! Do urself a favor and head Up North u will not be sorry!

We love this place. My fiancé and I are here probably once per week because we love the wings, rotating beer selections and the service. The service is excellent and we've never had an issue out of the 50+ times we've been here. They can accommodate larger parties with ease and we always see lots of families and children. The outdoor patio is nice too and they have fireplaces to keep warm. They have a good selection of food that they change up and they've got specials too. AND they finally have a loyalty program now! It doesn't take much to earn some cash back either- we're saving up to treat ourselves. Highly recommend!!

Excellent and underrated sports bar restaurant. The best french cut pork chop- you have to try it. Chicken marsala is awesome and salads are fresh and crisp. Really great drinks and beer selection and great service. Jack keeps that bar spotless and looking great.

First time and definitely my last time! Okay, maybe I'll give it another chance. The nachos were not good, very little to no cheese and the same goes for the chili (that was suppose to be on there)The manager was super nice and didn't give us a problem with removing them from our bill. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The music???? honestly, the music was very depressing. After all, it's Friday night and I've just got paid. Lol The drink was very good(Vodka Thyme) , it only took one,..so you tell me, why didn't I feel like getting up and shaking a tail feather??

This place is super cute. They have a really nice outdoor setting. The people there were super sweet super. We had a wonderful time the food was awesome and the drinks were great definitely would come again.

Stopped in on the first warm Saturday in May around 6 PM. Restaurant was pretty empty and bar was busy. Was told there was a 90 min wait because they had no servers. So we sat at the bar and ate dinner which we prefer anyway. Bar was slammed with 2 bartenders. We got drinks right away and ordered wings boneless Wings were good but just average. Burgers were pretty good and came out fast. Nice beer and wine wish and some good cocktails. Nice outdoor patio and bar that opens to outside. Overall a great place and we'll return again when in the area.

Great beer selection and decent food. It's definitely bar food so expect anything fancy :) Wasn't busy during our lunch visit on a Saturday, but our waiter was very courteous and made sure we were good throughout our visit.

The bartender Jack did not know how to make any drinks not very friendly, the manager would avoid eye contact with us until he had to the food was not all that the food service was a lousy, and like I said, the bartender Jack wasn't as friendly as well, he was a phony and a flake and I didn't think they care too much for people of color coming into the establishment by the looks that they gave us even though I have live in Naperville for last 10 years and I do not recommend this Restaurant at all.

Very friendly staff, enjoyed my meal, and liked the space. I inquired about a group event and our server asked the manager to come over and talk to us. Dave was informative and excited to be a part of our event. He even emailed me that evening with more information! Looks like a fun place to hang out. All the best to this establishment !

I understand low staffing bc of Covid but this had to be the worst. Up north provided us with the worst dining experience in Naperville for the past 4 years. Food was not good and bland. We had pizza which was flavorless and veggies were uncooked. The nachos had stale chips and nacho cheese with dog food steak. The drinks were very sugary and tasted like mixers. It took 1.5 hrs for a pizza and nachos with two rounds of drinks. I do recommend the smoked wings for takeout. Only saving grace.

If you suffer from food allergies, avoid at all costs. Got very sick after eating here. Not sure how they managed to get wheat in my salad but they did.

Don't order salad from here.... other food (sandwich and appetizer) was decent but the takeout salad was pretty laughable. Basically someone threw some lettuce in a container and sauced some extremely dry chicken. I'd like my $15 dollars back.

Just checked out Up North & had a good dining experience for an Ale house. Being the building is new, the atmosphere was very modern, up to date. The chairs are metal & ok for the time it takes to eat dinner but I wouldn't watch an entire sports event sitting on them. The service was quick & friendly. Erin was a nice server. The food came out real quick. I had a nacho plate which was huge. My son had the chicken wrap that he said was great. The prices were a little on the high side for the side of Naperville it's on. Beer selection in a bottle is great! Lots of great ones. Draft crafts were good too although a couple of other new Ale houses in the area has a bigger draft selection. The only thing about this place is that there are too many of these type places around right now.

So had to pay $.75 extra for blue cheese with my 6 wings ...shouldn't that b included? Charged $2 extra for all drummies ...$1 @ sister restaurant ...waiter Spencer was smug...will NEVER go to up north again

I'm so glad Up North is right in my neighborhood! It's a super nice option to grab a drink or a quick dinner and it's much better than typical bar food or a chain restaurant. I often get their veggie burger which is great but the Parmesan garlic fries are the real star of the show . I've gotten lots of bloodys from here and they never disappoint but I do wish they'd provide more toppings. They have great beer specials so I recommend sticking to that as the old fashions miss the mark slightly. Overall, it's a great spot with a dynamite patio!

This was the first place we went to once Illinois started allowing outdoor dining during the coronavirus pandemic because we were able to make a same day reservation to sit on their patio. The ambiance was nice and they had heaters. The cocktails were good and the beer was cold. The food was not very good and got several in my party sick the next day. However, we're willing to come back to try the food (and give the benefit of the doubt since we went the first day restaurants opened back up) because the rest was a good experience.
