Yummy Desserts at Up2You Cafe! We ordered the taro Oreo milkshake and the brownie pie and really liked both. Really cool atmosphere for the cafe. Friendly staff and the desserts come out quickly. Recommend!

I love coming here for honey toast. I don’t know any other places that serve honey toast, so I come here when I crave it because it is so delicious. If you’ve never tried honey toast it’s basically sweet toast with butter that is warm with toppings like ice cream, fruits, etc. We got it with matcha ice cream, mochi, bananas. It was delicious. Super busy but they made our dessert quickly. Parking is rough so make sure you plan accordingly. Other than that, 10/10!

Google
Wanted a warmed up dessert and came here from good reviews. It’s called Up 2 You because you build your own dessert by choosing toppings which was kind of stressful; I wish they had more pictures for the different combinations. I got the honey toast with cinnamon sugar, vanilla ice cream, and condensed milk on the side. Bf got the brownie pie with cookies and cream ice cream and liked it but I liked mine better 😂 It’s like a block of bread that they heat in the oven, cut into and let the honey soak into it. I thought the toppings were too sweet and if I were to order again I’d just get the toast and ice cream on the side bc the honey toast part was the best and I would just want to dunk it in some ice cream. Def a portion for more than 1 person that I made into a single serving. They have games here and plenty of seating so it would be a fun place to hang out or study at!

Google
Walked in and the place is very cute. It does get loud since lots of students just hang out there. Order at the counter and find a seat to sit at. Got our food within 20 minutes. Unfortunately small flies surrounded us and our food while we were eating. I ended up only eating half of my food only since the flies were landing on the food. Lava toast with strawberry - fruits were sweet but the chocolate in the toast wasn’t runny. Not warm enough. Cheesecake - it’s pretty good! The ice cream has a cute cat chocolate.

Google
We stopped by Up2You Cafe after a dinner for drinks and dessert. It’s a brightly lit and clean establishment and has a pretty extensive menu. The staff was friendly enough the evening we went but they seemed more interested in talking to each other and laughing than really focusing on the customers. It might have just been because the place wasn’t that busy. I ordered a Vietnamese Iced coffee and we shared a crepe with ice cream which was huge. It was tasty but not the best I’ve ever had. Also the prices were somewhat high for the area. Parking is available on the street if there is nothing available directly in front of their storefront.

Google
We love this sugary confectionary spot in Convoy st. We love their brick toast with fruits and ice cream. We got a Thai iced tea float and it was delicious. It's a definitely go to place for desserts and drinks. We'll 100% recommend to friends and family.

Yelp
This place has been consistent from the past 10 years. Iconic dessert place for their honey brick toast! Out of all the desserts I do think you have to try it at least once. The drinks are yummy also, just feel like you can't go wrong with a brown sugar milk tea! The utensils and everything is laid out at the counter where you pick up the food/drinks, along with to go containers if needed. All other desserts are yummy and it's a cute set up inside with games, claw machines, free WiFi and lots of tables. Many people do come here to study for this reason. Downside would be that parking is limited and there is only one bathroom. Overall the place is maintained and clean. I will continue to come here and would be very sad to see if it ever shut down.

Yelp
Craving satisfied!!! I haven't had a crepe in so long and Up2You did not disappoint. My order was promptly made and the presentation was beautiful. The crepe was just the right amount of sweetened and fully loaded with fruits inside. It has a chill ambiance, so it's a great place to relax and hang out. There were plenty of tables and lot of games to choose from.

Yelp
To chill no-frills industrial looking location on the street. Luckily they have some parking spots in front and in the street. The menu is very easy to order when you can select your toppings. It does take a little bit for them to create it but at least you know it's fresh. Love the toast, which is crispy and not overly sweet depending on what you put on top of it. The size is generous and totally shareable between 2 to 3 or even four people. I would definitely come back here for a quick snack and a light carb dessert. There are a lot of people there just hanging out and I could see some people bringing in board games or just working here briefly. Everybody is super nice. It does pick up towards the after dinner crowd.

Yelp
4.5/5 This is one of the few dessert spots that specializes in brick toast desserts. Up2You Cafe is a popular late night spot that has lots of desserts, but the one I will continuously order over and over again is their brick toast. You order on a kiosk and start with a honey brick toast. You can then choose different toppings from fruits to oreos and can even add ice cream for additional price. This time, we decided to add mangos, vanilla ice cream, and condensed milk to ours. The bread is super crunchy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside with honey seeping into every bite. I really appreciated that they also gave us sweet and ripened mango as well. The only small downside to this place is that it gets very crowded, making it very hard to find a place to sit inside or outside and parking can get very difficult as well.

Yelp
It's hard to find brick toast nowadays. They keep the brick toast dream alive and do it well. It feels they've enhanced the customer service as well. Haven't had any issues over the past year at all. Love the crane machine addition.
google avatar

Yelp
Up2You Cafe is a solid late-night dessert spot with a wide variety of options from crepes and waffles to brick toast and drinks. The selection is impressive, but the ingredients themselves taste pretty standard and nothing too special or high quality. I ordered a crepe with Oreos, strawberries, and chocolate ice cream. It was decent but not something I would go out of my way for. This is more of a place I would choose when nothing else is open rather than a must-visit dessert spot. The ambiance is fun with plenty of seating and games to play while you hang out. However, parking can be a hassle since the lot is pretty small. Overall a good spot to satisfy a late-night sweet tooth but I would not expect anything gourmet.

Yelp
The up2you milk tea & wintermelon milk tea 10/10 would recommend. Also loved the honey toast. We got it with matcha ice cream, Nutella & bananas. As for service we used the self kiosk but you can also order with the cashier. Ambiance is a nice place to hangout. There's a few vending machines with Asian products inside.

Yelp
Cozy and fun ambiance and a diverse menu! It's a pretty small place so getting seating or parking might be a pain but I think it's worth it. We got the toast to share between 3 people and it was more than enough. I also loved adding pandan to their matcha latte! Not many places allow you to do that so I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Came here for an event, Hati Village, it's basically an open mic event and glad to have stumbled upon it. AMBIANCE: Parking: VERY small parking lot but fear not there's also street parking which I didn't have any issues with. Seating: Seating both inside and outside, great for groups and individuals. Feels: Welcome to Convoy! Plenty of eateries and other every day shops. The spot itself is pretty nice. Pretty clean and simple, decorated with pictures of their food and drinks to help you decide what to order. It seems like a good place to hang out with friends, get some work done, or if you're lucky, enjoy the live music! FOOD: Passionfruit Green Tea (Recommend) For something on the sweet side with some health benefits, then this is your go to. I was hoping for the green tea to help mute the sweetness but this is definitely more sweeter but still refreshing! CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was served by Casey and she was great! Friendly and knowledgable about the menu. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Great menu selections for desserts and drinks, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. I might have found a cool study spot! Thank you Kan and Up2You Cafe team! Wishing you all the best! TIPS: *Follow them on social media for any special events!

Yelp
Honey Toast!!! Definitely recommend. They have a variety of desserts, but our friends recommended the honey toast and it did not disappoint!

Yelp
I was disappointed coming here when I found out the puffle waffle that was shown to have fruit and a scoop of icecream, that you had to pay extra for all of it. Essentially the waffle itself was 8 dollars and the fruit was extra at 3 dollars each plus the charge for the scoop of ice cream... I feel like it was false advertising. The one item I did end up deciding on (the crepe vanilla cake) was just plain awful. I'm never coming here again. It was just a rip off for the desserts.

Yelp
The food is good y'all. Delicious. The service...ehhh. Maybe we went during the youngster shift or something, idk ‍ Not rude but not friendly. Super into their own conversations than providing a service. The place was overcrowded and the tables were sticky and dirty. The desert was worth the aggravation though which is why I gave this a 3 star review
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
I've been craving crêpes & this one hit the spot! I appreciate the customization to make it just how you like it. It would've been cool to see some already arranged signature ones, but that's a non-issue. The dessert menu is pretty expansive, so it is easy to always have a new treat here!
google avatar

Heather D.

Yelp
Came here for some dessert after dinner. The toast here is one of the best I've had! It's a good size to share and has the perfect crisp to it. There's all kinds of toppings and ice cream you can add on top which is nice for personalization.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the crepe with Nutella, chocolate ice cream, and mochi. I thought there would be whipped cream INSIDE the crepe too, but there wasn't so it ended up being pretty dry and hard to eat without the ice cream. Wished there was whipped cream inside the crepe too so it wouldn't be so dry. Churros were pretty standard and yummy with the chocolate sauce. Employees were patient with us when we were figuring out what to order. Great spot to hang out with friends. Could get a little loud but I also see people studying here too.
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
Good crepes! I had crepe with bananas, condensed milk and almonds. It was very good. Loved that hey can do non-dairy milk teas. Had the tarp and it was good but was still too sweet with 50% less sugar. It tasted like the regular dose. But the staff is friendly and nice inside space. We will return if in the mood for crepes.

Yelp
This place is legit- Ordered the honey toast with Nutella/strawberry/banana combo and it did not disappoint. Well executed and made to order. Sweet buttery and great texture! Crispy but fluffy. Also ordered the açaí bowl and it was a very good price for so much fruit and goodness in the bowl! I remember coming before and it was good but this time it was amazing! Definitely be coming back to try more of their delicious treat

Yelp
Dessert: honey toast with Nutella and strawberry Drinks: oolong milk tea or strawberry matcha Lots of outlets Lots of tables Open late

Yelp
Very cute cafe/coffee shop/tea place. I was in between running errands and coincidentally one of my friends was in the Convoy area and was her birthday. So I did a detour to celebrate with her over coffee and crepe. We searched on Yelp where to go and found this place was cute and comfortable enough for me to spend some time after she left to draw and enjoy me time (with others:). I liked the nutella crepe a lot, it was perfectly shareable for 2. We were, though, disappointed with the presentation. I think a cute real ceramic plate would make a difference instead of paper plate presentation. We did not expect the 'fast-food' fashion. Same with the Vietnamese coffee. While we enjoyed the flavor, we wanted the full experience of getting that nice glass you get at other places. In any case, the place is super cute, tons of plants and pleasant things to look at. Very spacious and comfy to spend there some time. I will be back and try more stuff, not just the sweet things.

Yelp
If you are looking for something different for dessert this mighg be your spot. They have brick toast served with different toppings and or ice cream on top. They have decent sitting inside and out. But on weekends can be a little busy as well. Service can a little slow at times.

Yelp
A cute and spacious spot for social hangouts or casual dates. Where do you want to go? "Up2You" It is especially gorgeous at night with all sorts of warm and eclectic lights. Amazing variety of dessert options so it's perfect for any indecisive soul that wants sweet treats. What do you want to eat? "It's Up2You. There are ice cream, toast, crepe, milk tea, and yummy drinks." Since they are known for their brick toasts, I ordered one with Nutella, strawberry and banana toppings, and cookies & cream ice cream. It's yummy from the fruits and sauce thus crunchy from the honey toast. One of the better toasts I've had - better than Sul Beans if I were to be honest. I would definitely come back to try their other desserts. I'm on the fence about the drinks because, from what I saw from other tables, they didn't look too appealing. Welcoming service and lovely staff. I got right before the rush so it was relatively fast. The only downside is the extremely limited parking and space. The available spots are too tight to one another - coming from someone who drives a small car.

Yelp
I have been a frequent patron of Up2You since it opened back in my high school days and I have yet to try a honey brick toast that tops this San Diego institution. The bread itself is just a perfect vehicle for all the toppings your heart desires -- a soft and pillow-y interior with just the right amount of buttery-ness and a lightly toasted exterior. Imo other brick toasts I've tried in NYC, LA and the Bay fall short of Up2You because the bread can often feel too oily or dense. I'm also not a fan of the "box" brick toasts that have wayyy too much bread and crust going on. Up2You honey brick toast is literally what dreams are made of! My go-to toppings are the custard, strawberries, and green tea ice cream but you really can't go wrong with any combination. Docking 1 star because of how exorbitant the prices have gotten. We paid around $30 for these two toasts last night, which is a bit $$ but still doesn't stop me from getting my brick toast fix here whenever I'm visiting home.

Yelp
Confused about desserts and can't choose? Honey Toast, topped with Strawberries, Bananas, green Tea ice cream and condensed milk. Plenty of tables Great place for desserts, kid friendly and parking is easy. Happy holidays!! -- at Up2You Cafe.

Yelp
I think the ambiance and dessert here impressed me more than I remembered it to be a couple of years ago. We found a table for a group of 6 thankfully when we came in and waited in line to order. We got one crepe and one toast and we devoured it in less than 15 minutes. The crepe was on the sweeter side but the toast tasted wonderful. It was the perfect texture and the ice cream wasn't enough to soak the toast so that it would become soggy. It stayed crunch and it was so refreshing after a long week.

Yelp
Ordered a honey toast with strawberries and green tea ice cream. I loved the variety of sweets you can get from this cafe! Also ordered their pandan coconut coffee it was delicious! Pretty strong until the ice dilutes the drink more. Can't wait to come here again to try the other things on their menu. Honey toast - 8.5/10 Pandan coconut coffee - 8/10

Yelp
Thia was a popular snack destination even after 10 pm. The menu had a lot of variety. I had the Nutella Banana Shake and it was pretty good.
google avatar

Yelp
What can I say after eating this delicious sweet? I recommend to go if you craving for something sweet and affordable. The place was pretty packed but we got food super quick. I will keep you posted about my time for sure
google avatar

Yelp
Great hangout for desserts! Spacious with good seating inside and outside with cute decor and lighting outside. The gals taking your order were helpful especially since there were so many options to decide upon. The Honey Toast and Cafe Crepes were delicious! The portions were huge with lots of yummy fruit with sweet goodness from the condensed milk. The toast had a nice crunchy outside with a nice soft inside. The Crepe Cake unfortunately was not as good due the the cream being heavy rather than light. The cream was dense and did not taste good; however Crepe Cake did photograph well. Still giving this spot the full 5 stars. The effort and service was great!

Yelp
Brick Toast with Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, Strawberries, Bananas, and Condensed Milk Always a solid dessert spot for us! I could eat the honey Brick Toast on its own all day--it's soo fluffy and warm and delightful
google avatar

Derreck C.

Yelp
The desserts here are well made. I find them to be delicious and I thought the plating for each dessert was well done. The ice cream they used tasted fresh and was a nice touch on top the desserts. Their fruits can be hit or miss sometimes. I think this place is nice to hang out with a group a friends to catch up and talk. It has a cozy setting and a good amount of seats. They were really fast with my orders as well. The people that served us were nice as well.

Krstina B.

Yelp
I asked for no ice in my drink since it was cold and freezing and this is what they served me. They messed up two of my other drinks as well by not including the boba or too much sugar. There are much better places than this.
google avatar

Kaloni S.

Yelp
This is my first time trying this little cafe. It's near convoy area right behind hidden fish. The parking lot is tiny, but there's plenty of parking on the street. The decor is super cute, service is great, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Food review: Honey Toast: (5/5) OMG. This was absolutely delicious. We got the honey toast with strawberry and bananas. The bread was perfectly crispy/flaky on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. Enough to share, but I could've devoured this on my own. I'll definitely be back to try the other options!!
google avatar

Yolanda H.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for awhile now, cute little place with parking! It's in the corner so you may miss the turn in (like I did) ^-^ The inside has great seating and cute decorations, definitely a good place to meet a friend and chill, and do some computer work. Their menu is huge! Everything looks and sounds amazing. Me and my friend split a crepe which we added dulce de Leche, cream cheese, and cream cheese bites. While it was bomb...definitely could've done without the dulce de Leche as it was SOOOO SWEET!! I also got their Vietnamese iced coffee and definitely strong and had a great flavor. My friend got the mango lemonade ( which is more like a fizzy sprite with mango flavor) it wasnt listed as carbonated, not expecting that. But, will definitely be back, and try something new ! Highly recommend

Yelp
My boyfriend and I always come here after a dinner in Convoy. It may be busy but our dessert always comes out in a timely manner and is always delicious. Cashiers and nice and the place is clean and cozy.

Ashley H.

Yelp
One of my favorite dessert spots in San Diego! I always go and get their Honey Brick Toast. It is super soft on the inside and has a nice crisp on the outside. :-) Honey Brick Toast: - topped with strawberries, bananas, condensed milk, and coffee ice cream Belgian Waffle: - plain with condensed milk on the side.
google avatar

Paula C.

Yelp
The service at this place was excellent. Very friendly, and helpful staff. I got the Ube Cheese Viet coffee and a Belgian waffle. Got the order pretty quickly. Both items were very good and definitely want to come back to try some other items. It was a little busy but lots of seating available and casual vibe overall.
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
The perfect sweet treat! The honey toast is a long time favorite. The ube is sweet and flavorful ~ Very cute study spot during the day, gets pretty busy at night (even on weekdays). Love the ambiance and cute photo opps ~

Yelp
One of the go-to spots for desserts on Convoy. Tucked away on one the side streets but right behind Hidden Fish if you see that while driving down Convoy. Food: They have allll the desserts. Ice cream, cheesecake, brick toast, crepes, puffles, and more. Boba is good but the desserts are better for me. Great for sharing and they have a ton of options for customizing them how you want with different ice cream flavors, fruits, sauces, etc. Service: Order at the counter and they'll call out your number for you to come grab it. Workers were all very nice. Ambiance: Cool colored lighting, fun/interesting decor, and a ton of space. No problems getting a table even for a big group. Parking is a little tough but there's plenty of street parking since it's on a side street. Water: Self-serve water dispenser. Make sure to wash down all the sugar with some water!

Juan Luis M.

Yelp
It's alright the desserts are good I would say but the chairs are kind of uncomfortable their bathroom needs help to be honest
google avatar

Tena D.

Yelp
my favorite place to get brick toast *-* !! love that you can customize it! brownie pie was good as well, rich and very chocolatey! such a cute little shop with games to play with friends
google avatar

Bianca V.

Yelp
The store itself is cute but, the price is high in comparison to the quality/flavor of treats. The strawberries weren't fresh as some of them were mushy and there were fruit flies around the tables.
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
I loved the crepe cake it indeed did have 10 (?) layers!!! I counted the matcha soft serve was gooood. my friend finished his brick toast so fast! he said his boba was pretty sweet, so adjust to your liking. it was really busy on a weekday night. line was out the door! but there was plenty of seating. they even have a cold iced water dispenser as you know we can get thirsty from the sweets! staff was super friendly :) the reason for my 3 star would be that there was no WOW factor even though everything was good. overall would come back if craving crepe cakes!

Yelp
Came here with one of my friends after dinner in the nearby area, and I'm glad that I was able to visit : ) Up2You is truly... up to you! From drinks to honey toast to bubble waffles, the cafe offers so many different options for desserts and drinks, and the best part of it all, is that [almost] everything is fully customizable. My friend and I ordered a honey toast to share, and it was delicious! We topped it off with condensed milk, mochi, and cookies and cream IC. The honey toast was the perfect amount of sweetness, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the warmness of the toast allowed the ice cream to melt on top, which enhanced the flavor of the dessert. It also seems to be a good study spot, as there are plenty of outlets, and Wi-Fi as well -- I think I have to come back soon to try other desserts/drinks!

Owenchon C.

Yelp
I love coming to Up2You Cafe to enjoy a tasty sweet treat while also getting to do work at the tables in store. I've had multiple items from here and can say they're all really good. Today I got the lava toast which was almost like a crispy chocolate pancake but emphasis on the chocolate. The lava toast was so good but definitely needs something like ice cream added on as an extra. We also got an affogato (it's not on the menu but if you ask, they can get you the ingredients to assemble it). The affogato was so good and refreshing. I did wish they would have put it in a cup rather than a bowl but next time I would just request that. Staff was super nice and I was glad that they were aware of the affogato and was able to make it for us. They were very friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in which is always nice. The environment of Up2You is always vibey as I can get my work done at a table and enjoy the environment of a cafe. It does get pretty busy and difficult to find tables a lot of the time but that just goes to show how good of a place Up2You is.
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Tried this spot after my sister recommended it, it was pretty good! Honey toast was delicious, we got it with condensed milk, ice cream, and strawberries and bananas. The portion was good too, perfect dessert for 2 people. Japanese cheesecake was a bit too dense for me personally but still decent. We waited maybe 10min which wasn't too bad for what looked like only 1 guy working at the time.
google avatar

Paris O.

Yelp
I've come here a few times and everytime the snacks and drinks have been really good and good quality each time. Every time I've come by the service is always great, very friendly people and knowledgeable. I love how the places is decorated and how cozy it feels even when there's a lot of people.
google avatar

Kristine C.

Yelp
I love the desserts here and the coffee is good too! Whenever we go on dates to Hidden Fish I always beg my gf to get dessert here. The vibe that I get here is it's for young people to come hang out. Food comes out pretty quickly, but my only gripe is that the parking lot is small.
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
Wow! This is such a cute little dessert shop!! It's located somewhat behind the Gongcha in Convoy, and considering the fact that I often frequent the area, I seemed to have failed to notice this cafe. But I'm so glad that I'm now aware of this secluded gem. The parking lot is rather small--and it fills up quickly on weekend nights (as do all convoy parking lots)--but you can easily find street parking. The cafe has seating inside and outside. The interior is so cute and instagram-worthy with its neon signs, string lights, and colorful wall art. We had no trouble fitting in our large group. To order, you simply go up to the front counter. They take Tap to Pay! Then you can go find a seat, as they'll give you a little device that beeps to let you know when your order is ready for pick up at the side counter. They have so many dessert options and drinks, all of which are so pretty!! I wanted to try so many different things, so I think I have to come back on another occasion. I really liked the lychee drink with lychee jelly. That being said, I think everything here is overall very sweet, especially by Asian standards. So just be aware of that! And the presentation was so aesthetically pleasing!! This, along with the beautiful interior, made for such perfect photo opportunities! Another thing I want to mention is that they use paper plates, plastic cups, and plastic utensils...it's not the most environmentally friendly practice. The service was pretty good, they got through a big rush of orders fairly quickly. I also understand that, with so many orders, mistakes may unfortunately happen. One person in my group received the wrong drink order after a relatively lengthy delay. But other than that, everything was great! I will definitely come back to try the other items with more friends! Maybe next time, I'll order the honey toast!!
