Everything was pretty much on point with this place. They have fun events like open mic night and trivia etc. we went on open mic night. We were able to hear the performer from the entire rooftop which was great, very fun to be able to participate still! Our waitress was so nice and attentive. We brought the puppies in bags, they welcomed them with open arms. We got high noons but they also offer a variety of buckets and pitchers as well as small flights. Prices were moderate and the food wasn’t the best things we’ve ever tasted, but the vibes were on point. We went on a random Tuesday , I can only imagine what it’s like during the weekend or peak hours

Chanel, Tray, and Charlie are so nice behind the bar! Great people to talk to and they make an amazing Espresso martini and mojito. They do a great job! ☺️

The ranch had a cardboard taste to it, the wings were just ok, and my fries weren’t done. The drink was just ok I enjoyed the lemon drop shot, the staff were friendly too. They charge a 18 percent gratuity as well. Everything was just ok.

Bartenders at upbar went way above and beyond! Chanel not only made great drinks but also contacted house keeping to get me a few things to my room that were needed. Trey worked the workweek winddown ( complimentary drinks Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.). My drink never emptied. He hand delivered drinks to me on the patio, I never had to even get up! I cannot give enough compliments to these two! They were incredibly friendly, funny, and very welcoming!

Went here on a date night and it was amazing. The view from the roof was incredible. The drinks were good, not watered down, but the food was not all that good. They were out of wings and the chicken nachos were not as good as I was hoping. But I will say, the customer service, music and vibe certainly made up for it!

Great atmosphere for a mid downtown evening. The margaritas and Berry Lemonade was good! Late night taco menu did not disappoint either. DJ was the best bartender and served us quick! Will be back because of his awesome service and the good vibes!

The drinks were good, but not great. The bartender didn't drink. The atmosphere was nice, though surprisingly dead for a Saturday night.

Decided to come here on a Friday night around 10pm. Before deciding on this place we googled the hours and it stated it would be open until midnight. We we arrived and were waiting to take the elevator upstairs, a hotel employee told us they would be shutting down at 10:30pm. Not sure why or what but we we finally got to the inside to place a drink they stated they would be making final calls for drinks at 10:30pm. It wasn't that many people inside the bar and when we asked the staff they kind of just said welll that's how it is tonight. We took our drinks to the patio and enjoyed the rooftop for about an hour until we finished them and decided to leave once we finished. Not sure what is going on with the hours but this place is still a neat spot to go to. I'll be back I guess earlier???

15 November 2024 Recently made it back to UpBar. Last year when I tried to go with my cousin, the kiosks were down and we ended up at the Foundry instead. My bartender was Bryce. With the holidays around the corner, I was shocked at how moody, dark and dismal the place looked. It's a hotel bar at that so even more shocking. I felt it needed festive decorations like most bars and restaurants have during this time of the year. I had the Butterfly Tears to start. It was a tequila based drink with lemon juice and simple syrup. It was supposed to be topped with a dehydrated orange per the description but was served with a lime. Bryce entertained my idea of a mistletoe margarita and followed the recipe I showed him with the limited garnishings he had and it was bleh. So then I saw all the Strawberry Mojitos being sold and how red and pretty they looked and asked if he could just decorate that into a festive drink and he did and it was amazing! We called it the Strawberry Mojito Mistletoe. I needed something to snack on and decided to go with the basket o'fries. When they sat it down in front of me, I immediately felt like they were overly air fried and mostly inedible for $12. I'm not one to send stuff back so I picked through separating the edible ones from the burnt ones. I was left with 40% of my fries. I grabbed a few pics on the rooftop and watched Bryce make a flight. I felt the service was excellent but the food isn't worth the cost or at least mine wasn't that night. #UpBar

I came here for my birthday on a Monday night and it wasn't too bad of an experience. While I did enjoy the wings, I didn't like the nachos much. The drinks were great and we took advantage of happy hour. It was pretty crowded that night because it was R&B Night, but it was a great time! I would just say better food options!

Love the scent when I walked into the bar! The patio had fire going on which was perfect since it was a little chilly outside! Ordered drinks and came out pretty fast. Love the view! Will definitely come back and try other drinks

Some Of the best late night tacos you will find in STL. Upbeat is one of those need to know bases type places for me every time I bring it up whole Are like whaaaat there's a bar up there? Yes the food is good and the drinks are strong with plenty of seating inside, outside and at the bar from the view to the atmosphere you will not leave disappointed

I wish it was a star for zero but I'll give the one star to the waiter....went there tonight feb2 2025...I don't like saying things are trash but the whole place was trash from the food to the drinks With a party of 12 people 11 people had terrible food....not the place for dinner or just drinks and snacks....just go for the view but what else would you expect from a roof top bar I have that at my loft...

Drinks are severely overpriced. $17 for a strawberry mojito. It was an event night so I guess that means only nachos are served. Folks who can't eat that be damned. The staff is very attentive and the bar girls are very nice. This is my second time here and the menu has been an issue every time. I've been invited here never came on my own. Can't say that I'll have too either. OAN. I don know what time they open but my shoes are sticking to the floor so bad I'm scared imma walk out of them and fall. Ambiance is absolutely chill. Beautiful views of STL. Great photo opportunities for the photo lovers.

We went in for happy hour. The view was really nice. That was the best part about the venue and only reason I ranked three. The view can not carry a place alone. I ordered a margarita flight and was very excited as usually you do not get flight with margaritas. It would have been helpful if the staff said tell you which flavor is which or if the flight would have been labeled. 2 of the 4 drinks were okay only one which I believe was mango was good. The flight was $25 and I do not mind the price but the communication of flavors just would have helped. Service was ok. Didn't order food as it was a very limited menu and there was not anything of interest to us.

What a beautiful location! Located in the heart of St. Louis in Midtown. I recommend valet parking if you can. Rooftop is so beautiful and scenic. Service was great we had a great waitress and she was super friendly and helped w menu selection. We tried 2 different flights which were the Margarita flight and the Lemonade stand flight. The drinks tasted a tad bit watered down and possibly pre-mixed not made to order bc i tried asking for a different vodka and tequila and waitress mentioned they can't be modified. Also it was a hot day so maybe ice just melted quick but nothing to stop me from going again. We went on a Tuesday and they had a guest chef making Birria tacos which were amazing, tender beef and queso w consomé . We also tried the chicken Philly wrap was delicious too!

Order: old Fashion Four Roses Garlic Parm Wings Pros: the bartender made a GREAT old fashion! It was really really good! Cons: they were out of Nachos. Garlic parm wings werent very garlic(ie).

Loved this little cocktail lounge on top of a hotel! The bartenders were all friendly and super knowledgeable. I got to learn about how they picked the name and descriptions for each drink. I personally went for the Butterfly tears drink and was made with perfection! Jo was the one working and she took her time and made sure the presentation plus taste was up to their standards. The view is wonderful and this is a place to meet up with your friends or loved one!

We contacted Upbar 2 weeks ago inquiring about having this venue as our first stop with a bathchlorette party of 25 and we were arriving by bus. It was confirmed. We arrived at 2:00 on Saturday only to find out they are only allowing guests front the hotel as customers. This wasted a lot of time driving to this venue. If we were contacted about this change, that would have been greatly appreciated as we could have dropped this venue from our list. Very disappointing. Lacks professionalism.

Had a lovely night out on the rooftop patio of UpBar. Lots of points for atmosphere. Very nice feel to the place - upscale chill. The seating is comfortable and varied. It's not a huge place, but it's big enough to comfortably host small to medium groups. Music was a bit loud and a little difficult to hear over because of the speakers being directly over the seats, but the shade from the building was nice. Service was really quick and our server was super friendly. She was great. Lots of drink options including cocktail flights which I haven't seen elsewhere. Only downside with the main cocktail flight was that the cocktails weren't what they were called - as in, they had traditional drink names but some were the bar's version of the drink, not the "official" drink. For example, a Rugburn is typically Irish cream, coffee liqueur, and whiskey but here it was cranberry juice and Jameson. They should maybe add descriptions of the flight drinks on the menu. We didn't get much food but those who did order were happy. It's pricey but on par with other rooftop bars. Basically elevated bar food. Tip: visit early. They don't take reservations so if it's a Friday or Saturday night, you'll have to wait awhile. We showed up at 5:30 and there was no wait.

I really like this place! The view is amazing! It's a different feel for this part of town, and it's close enough to CWE that I can drive my golf cart here. I love the ambiance and the fireplace outside. The heaters make it a great place to hang out, even when it's cold. I also love the music! Just my vibe! They have a variety of flights that I'm excited to try, and I've heard the food is good! (If it's not, I will update this post with my review of the food.)

Make sure to ask for an itemized receipt. I did so because my total was higher than expected. The bartender added an orange juice charge to my tab and I didn't order one. He said it was the charge for soda that was mixed with a makers mark. I've never seen a bar charge for the mixer when ordering a spirit and mixer, but okay.... He also didn't disclose that gratuity was included and I didn't realize I until after I tipped on top of the gratuity. Just seems misleading.

I had an encounter with the manager Valencia she was very rude and unapproachable. I usually have a very good time at the bar.

I highly recommend going anywhere else. Even if you're staying in the hotel, as I am. The service is super slow, super rude and it's obvious that they do not care. Read the other reviews to see that attitude is everything. Also, they bring out receipts that are not itemized with a tip line and total. They fail to show that they've already added 18% gratuity. Had I not asked for the itemized for work then they would have conned another double tip for a guest. Lastly, the food was pretty nasty. Do yourself and favor and go anywhere else.

Upbar is a cute rooftop bar with a view of the arch way in the distance, way far away. Otherwise there are some parking garages and construction happening nearby. It's likely really nice after sunset!

I went to brunch one day this past summer with a good friend to catch up! The view and the food and our waitress was amazing. Will be returning to this hidden gem in #stl

Voting for drinks only and service only! As I didn't eat there. Quite frankly, it would be nice if they had some kind of a snack menu, but there was only a very small limited brunch menu on Sunday and they closed so early (2pm!) so we didn't have a chance to eat. But let's talk drinks! Bottomless mimosas for only $15, and an option for 4 different flavors totally made me happy! My girlfriend took a blueberry beer (yuk I know) but she LOVED IT! And they even put fresh blueberries in it per her request. Our friend had a blueberry vodka with bubbles drink and said it was delicious and strong! This is only for $8 Service was fast and friendly and the bar is beautiful rooftop looking over the foundry and SLU. Please don't go on Sunday morning so I have a seat for my happy self

This place is pretty cozy and nice. Since it's cold can't go out to patio but I can imagine in the summer it's all the way live. Will definitely come back when it's warmer. Great flights as well and finger foods.

Went here for 21st bday and the staff was so kind to me. Gave me so many free tokens that I was able to play any game for the rest of the night. For a Sunday there was a decent amount of people but not crowded. They have a great collection of games (dance dance revolution, mario kart, skee ball, etc.) and as someone who didn't grow up in the arcade generation, my friends and I still had a wonderful time discovering everything. Kind staff and quick service. Will definitely be back!

It was a fun spot. Very hip and lively. If you're In the party mood, this is a nice secret gem in StL.

A friend and I came here one Saturday evening for dinner and drinks. It was super hard to find at first, and not a lot of signs pointing to where it was. Once we got in, we sat down at a table and waited to be served. We waited about 15 minutes before the bartender came over and asked for our drink order and told us our waiter would be with us shortly. We waited another 20 minutes or so before the waiter even made it to our table, and when he did he just stood there and stared at us until my friend asked if we could order. From then on, I think we saw our waiter maybe 2 times the entire evening. The place is stunning, the food was pretty good, but the service was horrible.

Great spot for views of the city, unique cocktails and delicious snacks/food. A good variety of speciality cocktails that aren't all vodka based - which I greatly appreciate because I'm not a vodka fan! Daily drink specials - I was there for $2 Tuesday and Buffalo Chicken potstickers were the rotating potsticker of the day. Two separate patios split by the inside bar - both patios offer plenty of seating and great city views. Definitely recommend if you're in the area - you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to gain access and you honestly don't even know you're on top of a hotel when you're there!

UpBar denied my boyfriend and I entry because his (valid) state drivers license did not scan into their system. He is over 25 and I am over 30. Despite us offering to show multiple credit cards with a matching name and even to have the police come validate the ID, they were unrelenting and refused us entry. This happened right after they admitted the couple before us without checking their IDs. Needless to say, we will not return to patronize UpBar unless they resolve these issues and we receive an apology for the day's events.

My cousin ( resides in Atlanta) and I really enjoyed this place. Great chilled atmosphere. Drinks are pretty and tasty. The inside and the patio ambiance was exceptional. Service was nice and not expensive. We both enjoyed

The view is great! Perfect for a few drinks and food. The Paloma flight was amazing! So nice I had it twice. We snacked on the chicken nachos which were quite tasty. We also tried the chicken wings, which were just ok. I prefer my wings crispy and these were not. Our service started off great, but when it came time to pay, I had to request my check 3 times. That should never happen. Also, the hostesses have an attitude that is not welcoming.

Great cocktails, fun and energetic bartenders, the tacos were pretty great, the DJ was fun, the patio was so beautiful at night with all the strip lights up. Will definitely be back

Been to Upbar a few times and their lemonade flights are pretty good. It will definitely give you that buzz you're looking for. Good vibe to experience on weekdays, but more so on weekends. This was the first place I tried Birria Tacos on Taco Tuesday and they were a solid 9/10 based on the others I had since then.

YES YES YES, AND MORE YES!!!!! The service is IMPECCABLE!! I came here on an early evening date, and was greeted by the bar manager (Jay ... I think), who was training a server(Jasmine) that day. They could NOT have been more attentive and kind. We accidentally knocked over a brand new drink, and not only did they show up with a new one, and cleaned up, before we even got a chance to say anything, but Jay came with a clean wet towel for my date to clean off his leg/shoe. We went back a couple of weeks later, and were greeted as if though we were regulars (which we might become considering how much we loved it). I seriously do not understand these people who wrote bad reviews. They must just have really crappy attitudes, because this place seriously has the best service ever. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of our server the last time, but he had lavender hair, and was as nice as can be as well.

My husband designed this for Upbar. Inspired by the actual logo; using just a black straw and a simple tooth pick. It turned out incredible and I'm so proud of him.

If I could give zero star I would. The male bartender with brown hair, beard and glasses was slamming stuff the entire time and sending all customers away that wanted a drink. The girl waitress with a backwards hat was arguing with her customers because they didn't tip her well (obviously for a reason!) Terrible terrible experience. I understand being busy and frustrated. But you get treated how you treat people.

Drinks were good- a little too fruity/sugary to get more than 1. Food was not great! They possibly had the worst mozzarella sticks I have ever had. I was not able to eat them without gagging. My friends got chicken sandwiches and tenders and said they were okay. We had high hopes for food and drinks but were disappointed with the whole experience.

Went on a quiet Wednesday night for a drink to celebrate with friends. The ambiance was moody, fun, and the DJ was fantastic. The drinks were great, food was eh. BUT the service was horrible. The bouncer was incredibly rude and intense for no reason. He studied our IDs for far too long (nearly five minutes), quizzed each of us on our personal information, addresses, eye color, height and WEIGHT(?!?) and patted down each of the men in our group. He made the experience very uncomfortable and I probably will never be back as to avoid the discomfort, which is unfortunate because it seems like it would be a nice spot to spend an evening.

Underwhelming and disappointing. 1 star for the decent old fashion and 1 more star for the flavorful wings that were the size of baby chick wings. The southwest grilled chicken sandwich tasted microwaved (yes I've microwaved a sandwich before and that's exactly what this tasted like). Service was pretty bad but they're trying. Music was terrible (note to management: learn how to read your crowd).

Had 2 great experiences here. First night our bartender was Jillian and man, she is awesome! Drinks were absolutely delicious, she was very knowledgeable about drinks and let us try some of their special infused liquor. We got the goat cheese flatbread, Cuban sandwich (super yummy and fresh pork), and the chicken and waffles. The second night we went for drinks again and we had Tori as our bartender. Again, very conversational and made great drinks and recommendations.

We were extremely excited to check this place out arrived around 10pm on a Saturday night. The initial vibe of the atmosphere was very 1pm coffee shop "ish" Very bright lighting, small interior, no swanky decor. There was no music not even light background only the sounds of random chatter . No ambience what so ever! We sat at the bar for every bit of 15-20 min and watched 3 male bartenders serve around us as if we weren't there. We both felt that a little odd no greeting of any sort either. After being overtly ignored we just assumed we weren't welcome and decided to take our business elsewhere. I will be filing a formal complaint with management regarding that issue but overall it was a bummed experienced on our first spring weekend out.

They took advantage of my friend. Charged him 30$ per shot of tequila. No he didn't order the wrong thing, no they didn't tell him beforehand, no he wasn't too drunk and not paying attention. He is a shy dude and didn't know how to refuse service. They knew what they were exactly doing. It was plain old taking advantage of someone. Atmosphere was horrible-bunch of old dudes staring at my girl friends. One of the worse bar experiences in saint louis to date. Don't know anything about the food. I would avoid entirely.

I went to grab a drink and a bite to eat at the rooftop bar. My sister and I were greeted by the front door staff as we walked in. Before we could even fully walk through the door a guy said "if you're here for the bar, it's closed. I'm sure you can find somewhere much better to go to." As a poc, this feels racist. I won't be back and I'll be sure to find some place "much better." Wow

Such high expectations, kinda disappointed with the ambiance of the patio. Already out of the moscato at 9pm. Great to have the patio all to ourselves but it felt more like being in my own balcony than at a bar. Can be so much better.

The bartenders are horrible. As a consumer I felt so bad, as if I annoyed them. The male bartender with the beard was the worst. He was very short didn't want to take our order, he does NOT need to work with people. His attitude was unacceptable. I've been wanting to patronize the establishment for awhile. He left such a bad taste in my mouth. I will as never go there again. I like places where you are treated with kindness. After all without consumers you have no business. I'm sure he doesn't care. I wish I could give 0 stars

This bar hates babies. Our group of friends came out for an afternoon drink and some food as we had heard great things about the bar and seen pictures of the beautiful view. 2 of our friends joined late and brought their sweet, quiet, and adorable 15 month old, Henry. They were accosted by the host after entering who demanded that they leave. Why? The 15 month old baby was under 21......are you kidding me? They kicked out two parents because their child couldn't furnish an ID. This isn't some thumping club. This is a relatively quiet bar that serves food. Besides Henry was already so drunk that we'd had to cut him off. Jokes aside though I was deeply offended that this place kicked my friends and their adorable child out, citing "I can't lose my liquor license". My dude no one is enforcing drinking ages against a 15 mo old.

Service wasn't great. Food was just okay. We were told there was a guest chef so our food options were limited to 3 different tacos - unsure if this was a one time thing or this is how it always is? Our server was very little help. Pretty underwhelming - I feel like the place has potential because of the views (which you only have if you are seated in a certain area) but they need some work.

Loved this place. Drinks were spot on with a full bar. Great food that was quick to arrive and delicious. Felt very safe with cleaning protocols.

The Upbar was a great location that had excellent service. My colleague from Saint Louis University had a there it was great. I look forward to coming here again.
