Google
This is a must if you are staying for more than a week in Maui! We went early in our 2 week visit and stocked up on delicious, fresh produce, while enjoying the cooler temperatures of the upcountry. It is also a great place to support local artists and buy unique gifts for friends and family. We were thrilled to hear a talented farmer playing an erhu! Such a rich cultural experience!

Google
A great little market. Not sure the percentage that takes Venmo etc as we had cash. Portapotties were fine, ev vehicle charging limited to chadmo for a local collective *only*. No charging for us! Bring your own bag. All the Ripe Today mangoes were gone when we got here near closing. Some hot foods, honey, live plants, LOTS of local produce.

Google
Definitely the go to farmers market on Maui. We try not missing it when on the island! There are so many vegan options throughout. Highly recommend the empanadas and mochi rice sticks.

Google
Hot sauce guy was well informed. Amazing products to spice up your palate. I don’t like them too hot but my so. Does. Samples all requested and we bought 4 bottles with a discount t. Will even shop to mainland for you. Spent time with the empanada people. Omg!!!! Delicious. All of the flavors meld well together plus there is a volume discount.

Google
Amazing market, grr re eat selection of fresh foods and crafts. Wonderful flowers. Great bagels. A lot of local artisans too.

Google
Great local place in UpCountry for fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, quick bites and some local crafts/gifts. Parking can be a challenge as place does get crowded. Some vendors not always there, but fish and meat can be available.

Alyssa G.

Google
A wonderful gem of a market! The highlight of our Maui visit was this market! It was wonderful to meet and support local producers and artists in gorgeous upcountry. Can’t recommend this enough!

Clifford G.

Google
Decent farmers market. Not enough fresh seafood or meat vendors. Plenty of weird fruits and veggies. Plenty of weird perma-fried humans to gawk at. The lau lau at MAUI CONES is the best on island with poin and scoops of poke and if you’re lucky to score their poison cru you’re stoked. Also killer dahlias 😉

Yelp
HEAVEN ON EARTH. this is what all farmers markets should be like!! could feel the sense of community as soon as we stepped into the space. SUPER reasonable prices here. We got... - 2 for $1 lillikoi - $6 sugarcane lillikoi juice - $8 big slice of lillikoi cheesecake (can you tell we like lillikoi lol) - $8 box of japanese mochi (guava flavored) - $4 "rice popsicle" (special shoutout to this one. I'm japanese and have had tons of japanese food but this was authentic and one of my fav things I've ever put into my mouth) most places accept venmo. I would bring cash just in case though. vendors were super friendly and easy to purchase from. SUPPORT LOCAL! (difference of this and maui swap meet is this one had way more fresh produce and food. maui swap meet has more trinkets and goodies)

Yelp
We are family Get up everybody and sing... Talk about O'hana is all I can say about this place. Nothing beats fresh produce, flowers and coffee. Everyone is so nice and talkative it was great we made a stop. We were fortune enough to buy some great tasting mangos, pineapples, fresh coconut water, while I had a strong cold brew coffee to power me thru the day like a rocket-man! What we loved was as we were leaving and buying some great tasting sauce, the wonderful lady at the stand tells my wife to get a baby banana for our youngest but insists on us taking the entire bunch. My wife was really blown away at the hospitality we were shown and felt the true meaning of Ohana with her generosity. We had a clear view of Haleakalā thanks to the strong winds. Mahalo

Yelp
On a recent trip to Kula we saw a line of car's parked and a line waiting to enter what looked like a fair. Parked the car and waited in line..cash only at $5/person..kids under 2 were free. So everyone paid. I felt like this was a true farm with fields of beautiful pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, colors and types. There was also a small field of sunflowers. The colors and vibrant atmosphere really got you into the feeling of Fall in spite of being in Hawaii where the weather never changes. The country store was pricey but amazingly worth it for the taste. The mini pumpkin pies were sooo good! The cookies, honey and jam were so Hawaii filled with great flavors. The outside vendors were local with a huge selection of baked goods, savory lunches, crafts and other unique items for gift ideas. Will definitely return if in the island to pick up more Maui treats !!!

Yelp
Been coming here for many years and never tire going through and checking out the different stalls. First stop is always the Maui Cones. They never fail and disappoint us! Their food is always fresh and delicious! Today I had the poke ahi. So good the ahi melts in the mouth. And for second my husband and I shared the ahi panko. Just sensational! We were very delighted to try the fresh sugar cane juice. And they are refreshing and inexpensive! We also bought honey, papaya, macadamia nuts. We will definitely come back next Saturday!

Yelp
First Do No Farm Farmers Market located in the "upcountry" of Maui that's been in operation for over forty years. It strives to showcase locally-grown fruits and veggies, as well as a place for small, local purveyors to sell their wares. One of my favorite things to do while visiting a new place is to check out a local farmers market, as it's a nice way to gauge the locale and see some interesting things. Plus, it's a great people watching opportunity. The Good: *Lots of amazing produce throughout the market. And not just farmers, as there were even some people that just grow stuff in their backyard. *Maui Mountain cold brew was fantastic. She even had ice cubes made from coffee, so your drink doesn't get watered down as the ice melts. Plus, a portion of their profits go towards helping local birds. *Come hungry as there's lots of great Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian food to be sampled. *Dog-friendly The Meh: *Only open one day a week (Sat 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.) *I wish there were some tables to sit and eat at. I'm not a fan of eating while standing. *Some of the prices are a bit obscene tbh. I mean $7 for *ONE* empanada?! Gtfoh! I mean, it was good, but luckily I didn't pay. ;) The Ugly: *One of the produce stands won't let you pick your own produce, as you have to stand on line and wait to be helped by one of their employees. We had never experienced this before and just started browsing ourselves before being told very rudely to leave. It was very odd. I've been to tons of farmers markets and never seen a place that wouldn't let you pick your own produce. I wonder if it's some weird antiquated covid policy? TLDR: Great place to visit and grab a nosh while visiting Maui, but watch out for the Ň@z¡ fruit stand folks.

Yelp
If you're here on a Saturday and love fresh fruits and produce, this is a must! We've been looking for egg fruits since we landed and didn't find any. Locals from different markets told us to check this one out and it didn't disappoint. I got so much egg fruits and now hope that we will be able to finish before going home. We also got some mangosteen and a whole lot of ready to eat food. There are many local artists making jewelries and suncatchers. Most will be very nice but I have one vendors giving me eyes asking why I took pictures of her bouquets of lavenders :( as if I could somehow profit from it boo. But here are a few vendors that we bought from-Jerky tru Temph, coconut cowgirls, Star anise, empanada, crepe stand, Maui Jun Company (gotta check out the lilikoi and ginger and the elderberry lavender kombucha!), first fruit stand as you enter from the parking lot. And a local artist who made beautiful jeweleries that my kids bought from an unmarked vendor.

Yelp
Great market, sucky parking situation. Lots of local vendors with fresh produce and crafts, soaps, etc. We tried a fresh coconut - awesome that they can hack within 10 seconds and serve it up with a straw. $6 at one vendor. Only downside, as with most places in Hawaii, is that they don't have garbage cans anywhere nearby. You have to walk in the surrounding area to find something. Love the environmental impact- less waste of you don't have an easily accessible waste bin. Definitely worth the trip. Plenty of great looking produce!

Yelp
Quite small... My bf and I are more used to gigantic bay area farmer's markets so this was a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the array of goods for sale can be interesting, and everyone's very friendly, but I thought this was a bit underwhelming for the number of reviews here. There are about two rows of vendors up and down the parking lot. Most the stall owners seem to be white hippies who moved to Maui from the mainland-- we were hoping for more native vendors to support. Regardless, you can expect artisanal crafts, farm crops, local honey, food stalls, and more. We might have gone on a weird day. The Saturday we went was sunny, but we didn't see most of the local stalls that reviews raved about-- mostly feels gentrified. The açaí stall (also white vendor) gave us weird vibes... We stopped by for a quick breakfast. The bowl was fine, very watery but toppings were fresh & decent variety. The wack part is: when we reached the register, seller told us it was $18/bowl but charged us $50... We asked if paying cash would lessen the total, but she said it was because of the "2.7%" service charge and tax-- idk wtf kind of math she's doing because that doesn't make any sense and we haven't run into that level of upcharge at any other stall or store on the island

Yelp
I went to this large market to explore, but also in search of a vendor: Maui Sea Jewels (really distinctive work by Gabi Dunn). I couldn't find her and was directed to ask for "Neil" (the manager?) At an info booth. But when I got there and asked for himseveral young men thought it was very funny to all claim to be him. I don't have time for male baloney, so I turned away. I returned later expressing my hope "for a straight answer," and this time actual Neil sullenly replied that Gabi Dunn wasn't there--no info about where I might find her work. WHATS WITH THESE MEN? I don't shop to be insulted!

Yelp
I had so much fun at the @upcountryfarmersmarket in Kula this morning! This is a must do event if you're in Maui Not only can you get wonderful souvenirs like hand crafted deer antler bottle openers or butterfly prism rainbow makers, but you can also eat an amazing array of healthy and delicious foods to detox from all the eating out. Don't forget to stock up on fruits and veggies for your rental, and gluten free breads, cookies and the most amazing granola from #Liliaskitchen If you're a local, you know to bring your knives in and get them sharpened by @currycustomcutlery while you shop and pick up some organic seedlings at Steven's in the corner. Too full to try the goat milk ice cream or get more coconut goodies from @niulife_kitchen but I am stocked up on #Liliaskitchen granola and hot sauce from @hi_spice (hubby's fav) to take home Ate/Drank: -Fresh coconut from @coconut_willie -Cardamum turmeric latte from Uma at Star Anise (my new favorite drink!!!) -Poisson Cru (ceviche with milk) -Miso Ramen from @AlohanaVeganRamen (daughter's favorite) -Fresh hot @maui_empanadas with Chimichurri

Yelp
While visiting Maui for the first time, I drove an hour to go to this farmers market. No regrets. It's an incredible mix of produce, prepared food, baked goods, art, jewelry, and goods. The fruit was amazing. Make sure to get lots of fruit and flowers. There's also a sweet Betty toffee stand that has amazing toffee and the best ginger molasses cookies I've ever had. My husband liked the peanut butter, but I much preferred molasses.

Yelp
During my birthday weekend, 2023 September, my friend, and I decided to kill some time before lunch by hitting up the Upcountry Farmer's market. It's been a while since I've been to one. The Upcountry Farmer's market I believe is held every Saturday here in Pukalani. I had never seen so much vehicular traffic coming in and out of the area on a Saturday. Then again, I usually don't come on this side of Maui when I'm visiting. With that said, my friend and I drove here and arrived around 10am. We were shocked at how slow the traffic was and I decided to get out while my friend tried to find parking. She eventually did and we met up shortly after to check things out. Things were thriving here, after the August 8 fires that devastated Lahaina. It was just nice to be able to be here with the community and shop here. While I did not buy anything, it was nice to look around. I can't really buy anything since I was here for only 6 hours and saving my stomach for lunch at Mama's Fish House that day. My friend and I spent about 45 minutes here browsing and looking at what's going on here in Upcountry Maui. The local community really shows up and supports local businesses here and it shows. Majority of the sellers focus on farm products and others are selling household goods. Needless to say, I can't really take them home with me without eating (the fruits and vegetables) first. Maybe next time whenever I have more time here on Maui. Still, it was a nice way to spend the morning before heading back to Paia for lunch. The overall experience here at the Upcountry Maui Farmers Market was quite nice, casual and great. I was surprised that there was as much vendors here as there was parking spots. We should have came earlier, but at least my friend found parking nearby the Napa store and we just walked around for 45 minutes. The most disappointing thing was that the farmers market was rather limited. Plus, the fact that there was someone selling pastele stew, but they had ran out when we arrived there. The produce many of them were selling was fresh and definitely looked delicious. For the most part though, the experience here was good and fun, even though the traffic in and out was atrocious on a Saturday morning. The scenery was nice since it was at what I thought was a parking lot, next to a small little community park. Everything was open air, like the Swap meet at Aloha Stadium on Oahu. Everyone was friendly and everyone seemed to have had a nice time shopping and browsing there. If you are in the area and love farmer's markets, you would find paradise here. However, come early so you can find a parking spot near the action, instead of waiting in the narly traffic to get a spot. Regardless of how you get here, it's worth checking out. Might find a hidden gem or two here. The Upcountry Maui Farmer's Market is located at the Kulamalu Town Center in beautiful Pukalani, Maui. It's physical address is 55 Kiopaa Street. The Farmers Market starts at 7am, bright and early. Majority of the merchants here accepts cash, so that's always a comfort. There may be some who accepts credit cards, but would need to check with them to be sure. As far as parking goes, best bet would be to get here early. Probably before 7am! to secure a prime spot. I got here at 9:30am and it was bumper to bumper. It was pretty crazy! Not sure if the Maui Bus comes thru here daily, but doesn't hurt to check. While its definitely not a corporate supermarket or a Whole Foods, you can get fresh fruits, vegetables, and other home grown items here straight from the growers themselves. Prices here vary, but you know you're getting something fresh when it's at a farmer's market. Usually. Recommended if you are around and love farmers markets. And shopping locally in general. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! B

Yelp
Great farmers market with a good selection of produce vendors, plus food stands. We sampled Samosas - very good and vegan egg bites at two different vendors and found super fresh broccoli, carrots and other veg that stayed fresh and crispy even in our car for 2 hours afterwards. The neighborhood is also pleasant to walk around and with nice views.

Yelp
I LOVE this farmer's market! Great food trucks, local farmers, beautiful flowers, delicious juices, and fun snacks to pick up and put in your pantry.

Yelp
We come to this Farmers Market for organic fruits and vegetables. I think the Upcountry Farmers Market is lacking a lot. It's not a fun or exciting experience as it would be if let's say, there were more of a variety of venders. Maybe I'm so used to the Swap Meet type of Farmers Markets that when I find myself at this one, I'm underwhelmed. Get there. Buy produce. Leave. There's no excitement.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoy going to this farmers market because there is a pretty good variety of fruits and vegetables as well as arts and crafts. The prepared food varies at times. Some of my favorite places are the cone people. They make the mochiko chicken cones. They also make some pretty good Lau lau. The Thai food booth also has some good dishes most or all are vegetarian but that's ok because the food taste great. The pastele place is ok. And the coffee booths are great no matter which one you stop off at. If there is a young couple doing the fresh sugarcane juice make sure you stop and grab a cup. It is a great morning refresher especially if you can't do orange juice and you are coffee out. I enjoy purchasing my vegetables from the farmer that actually grew them. And I like knowing where my money goes because I really believe in buying local and supporting your local economy. And it's free and good exercise especially if it is a nice morning out.

Yelp
This farmets mkt is not just produce & flowers - but what they do have is fresh and good . I love the food ..there is a European lady who bakes a huge spread of wonderful unusual pastries & even a vegan choice. There is korean vender with various fresh food choices. A vegan spring roll thats very good. He also makes kimche. I buy their korean chicken pieces and put in the freezer & pop in the airfryer yumm.. a japaneese food vender- my fav is coffee mochi which is more like a pudding & their okinawan potato salad in a cone - which is unusual but yummy A Portuguese vendor is sometimes there with Portuguese sweet bread, & occasionally pork . Thete is an indian food truck who has a great reputation of good Indian food .. her ice cold mango Lassi drink with coconut milk is yumm. Her tikka madala curry dish is great. There is an empanada vender with several choices. My fav has cherry tomatoes, basil & mozzarella). Aside from food There are talented artist selling pottery jewelry, bonzai plants .. mini zen garden running water art objects etc.. Bring a hat & a tote bag - most venders dont provide bags.

Yelp
Great way to spend a Saturday morning in Maui. Friendly atmosphere, eclectic vendors and good fresh produce and prepared foods.

Yelp
Two years later, two hours earlier, and this Farmers' Market has gone from okay to yay all the way! Woo hoo! I arrived about 7:45 am and I received an eye-opening revelation. That's not early enough! I am banking you must arrive at 7 or even before to get decent parking and to not miss out on some of the more popular items - which were gone (Big Island organic chickens, iceberg lettuce, farm fresh eggs etc.) by the time I had finished browsing and was ready to buy. However, there were still lots of wonderful things to buy and quite a wide variety of produce and products! I was so pleased! Rainbow radishes and rainbow chard, sweet white turnips, bright orange winter carrots in all their twisted natural glory, honey, fresh baked breads and goodies, red tomatoes, firm green cucumbers, onions, apple bananas, exotic curries and curry powder to buy, pohole fern, coconuts, macadamia nuts, herbs, plants, Thai food, Indian food, Japanese food, Mochiko Chicken Cones (lines, lines, lines!), Spanish empanadas! There is also a full assortment for the meat lovers in your life: lamb, pork, chicken (when available), fresh caught fish, Maui raised beef, wild venison! All locally sourced! The soaps and oils that I was missing from my last review are here now, too! If I had more money, I could have bought enough food for complete meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for my entire family of four for a week, all locally grown or sourced. Most vendors put up signs stating "Organically grown but not certified" and I believe them. It is my understanding that to be actually certified is a lengthy, expensive process. I will definitely try to make the trek up here once or even twice a month. It is SO worth it to buy local and support local farmers. The prices were very reasonable. I filled my reusable grocery bag with veggies and I spent only $18!

Yelp
Nice quaint farmers market with the fresh aroma of a variety of Asian/Polynesian foods such as poke, pho, and udon noodles. My visit was more focused on exotic things I haven't seen before. There were a variety of plants I haven't seen before and beautiful crafts are likewise unique. The prices were very reasonable too.

Yelp
Tucked away between Pukalani and Kula, sits the Kulamalu Town Center, located right off Kula Hwy at the entrance of A'apueo Parkway on the way to Kamehameha schools. On any other day, you'll find an empty parking lot sitting above Longs, Napa Auto and the Kulamalu food trucks, but on Saturdays, this lot becomes the hub for Upcountry Maui's local farmers, gardeners and crafters to share their products with the community. The layout is market contains two rows that run parallel to each other with another running horizontally across one end. The booths are close together, allowing for easy browsing. Each booth has its own personality, some being extravagant displays of product, or a simple tent with a table. A wide variety of goods can be found including farmers & gardeners of large and small scale, baked goods, jams/jellies, ready to eat foods such as empanadas, curry and mochiko chicken/ahi cones, coffees and tea, as well as health/ wellness and beauty products, jewelry and crafts. Not only are the products locally sourced/made, but there are many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Surely there is something for everyone!

Yelp
Avoid the "Bates Farm" table who charges $50 for 5 mangoes! Instead give your business to the other amazing growers who don't rip off their fellow locals.

Yelp
Loved the variety and quality of the food at the farmers market. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. If anything, I've had better tasting and LOOKING food from honest down-to-earth people here than at some of the restaurants around Maui. I will definitely need to come back next time im on the island. Parking is limited, in the market's lot, but if you dont mine a 5 min walk, theres tons of parking on the street or the lot across from the farmers market.

Yelp
This is the best local farmers Market we visited while in Maui. Great variety of produce, nice handmade crafts, honey booths, kombucha, and many other things to check out. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting but be respectful that this is a local gem and I'm sure they hope to keep it that way!

Yelp
Wow what a surprise! It has been many years since we visited this Farmer's Market and to our surprise it has grown into a real EVENT! Let me start out by saying you better get here EARLY. I would plan on 7am or before to score a good parking spot and to get first pick of everything before its gone. There is so much to see so many vendors. LOTS of fresh produce, flowers , baked goods and much much more. We were entertained by several musicians as well. Its a wonderful start to your day and I cant wait to go back!

Yelp
Wow, the kulolo alone sent my tastebuds to heaven and made my heart swell! Lots of local grown fruits & veggies. Lychee in season and available from various vendors. Lots of baked goods, thai food, fresh juices, local honey, etc also available. I saw quite a few of the yellow Vietnamese type mangoes, not so much the other kinds yet. I got some nice avocados - the big butter type was about $1.50 each and some fresh basil 1.50 a bunch. The kulolo was ono. Very fine grate on the kalo, yum. I'll be back next week to get poi and try auntie's haupia!!
google avatar

Laurie G.

Yelp
Yum, yum and more yum plus so much aloha! First up, an incredible health shot with freshly! pressed! Maui grown turmeric. Next, lillikoi butter, coconut candy (which isn't candy at all), home baked sweetbread, and coffee from the 2017 winner of the all-island best coffee competition. Each vendor was well versed about their product(s) and exhibited that very special aloha spirit. Be sure to make this market a part of your upcountry experience!

Yelp
Last week Saturday was our first time here...I have been wanting to go forevvvvvver because I have heard the food here is incredible. We live in Wailuku and unless we have multiple things to do Upcountry, we don't make it up there that often. Thank God we had something to do last Saturday AND even got our business done early which meant we would actually make it to the Farmers Market! Yay! Their hours are 7-11am and last week, we got here at the very tail end, around 10:30am when you knew some vendors would already be out of a lot of stuff. Since we didn't have a lot of time, I power walked thru and got a few things to eat. I only had a credit card and not everyone there takes credit card so make sure you ask before they make your food and then when it's time to pay and you have no actual money. We stopped by Everyday Kitchen for some breakfast, we got Da Breakfast Plate ($15) which came with eggs (your choice on preparation), sweet potato hash, and french toast. YUMMMM. I am one of those people who usually order 2 breakfasts when I go out - one "real" breakfast (with eggs, meat), and also a second breakfast - a "fun" one, either pancakes or waffles, or something on the sweet side. This breakfast really hit the spot since it had real food AND something sweet. Score! We got a cold pressed juice ($10) as well, delicious and refreshing. My son loved it and the girl working was kind enough to give us a sample before we bought it. Another place we stopped was Maui Cones. I was intrigued by the name alone and when I saw what they had, I knew we had to get something here. I ordered the panko crusted mahi (with rice and cole slaw) for my son and the kalo salad and then quickly remembered to ask if they accepted credit card. Unfortunately they did not accept credit card so I apologized and said I didn't have cash. I hoped they could sell their last fish to someone else. One of the owners, Kam, without hesitation said, "Oh that's ok, just pay us next week!" I was floored because she was 100000% serious. We normally don't come Upcountry and I think she sensed that because she added "If you don't come back next week, don't worry about it, come back whenever!" I was just in awe at how kind and trusting this woman was. Her customer service alone was just incredible and we came back today so I could pay for my food last week AND buy mooooooreeee!! WITH CASH!!! =) Yay!!! So happy to finally get my own panko crusted fish because my son mopped almost the entire thing by himself! He absolutely loved it so of course he had to get another one. We also got to try their mochiko chicken cones - another YUM and must try. Nori, rice, mochiko chicken, and a delicious sauce drizzled over it, all in a cone. This place was slamming, a constant line and yet Henry and the rest of his staff today still make time to be personable and talk stories with their customers while getting that food out quickly. I love to support local businesses and will most definitely try to come up here more often to buy more food and try some different places next time too! Check it out if you're upcountry!

Yelp
I'm not usually a farmer's market going type of gal. Admittedly, I don't really eat vegetables. I've never eaten a proper salad in my life. However, this farmer's market is SO much more than just brilliantly colored fruits and veggies and I may just be turning over a new leaf (pun intended), making this spot a regular Saturday morning habit. Here's why... Driving up to Pukalani early mornings, the air noticably changes. It's more crisp, more cool, more fresh; aside from the occasional farm smells lingering in the air from nearby pastures, of course. That's how you know you're up'country' after all. The market is located in the parking lot area of Kula Malu Town Center, but still has ample parking spaces for patrons. Each vendor is unique and you'll find an array of products ranging from fresh pressed juices, baked goods (vegan options too!), turmeric shots, starter plants to get your little home garden going, hot sauces, hot food selections, & SOOO much more. Of course you'll find a number of them selling fresh, organic locally grown produce as well. That's a given! I came on a particularly ugly, rainy day so there weren't as many vendors, but a multitude still braved the rain. My favorites here would have to be Haleakala Creamery's caramel sauces & goatlato (gelato) made from goat's milk on their micro goat farm. They've since expanded since I initially saw them at the Made in Maui festival and you can now find them in outlets all over the island. Their caramel goatlato though! Don't miss it. You're welcome. Another on that must list would have to be the fresh pressed sugar cane juice (someone please let me know what their business name is!). They told me that adding lime & ginger was popular, ok cool. Not my usual flavor choices, but I was feeling adventurous and was pleasantly surprised. They run the sugar cane through a machine right in front of you so this is as fresh as you can get, folks! The turmeric shots from Maui Tonics were also delightful. I was initially hesitant because I did not enjoy a turmeric drink that I previously purchased, but WOW, I could actually get used to drinking this! It's not bad at all, they even have toppers to provide a little extra boost of goodness. They harvest the turmeric on Thursdays and prep & make the their tonics on Fridays. Again, fresh and a jar of their tonic lasts about a week. While making my way around the market, I chatted a bit with some of the business owners and one thing was really prevalent in all our conversations -- this was more than a market. It was a community of people with a fierce desire to support local, to support each other. Whether it was the hot sauce guy sourcing his ingredients from the farms down a few stalls from him or the sugar cane girls getting their limes from the aunty across the way (I apologize, all of their names escape me)... it was really inspiring to listen to their stories and to see everyone working together. Sooo many good vibes all around. Highly highly recommend stopping by here when you have a chance!

Yelp
Of course my first time ever going here, the fog was super thick driving up & it was raining. Just great, but I didnt let that ruin my experience one bit. Obviously these vendors are used to the upcountry weather & were prepared for the rain. I went there looking for 2 things strawberries & dill. Both of which I found & only 1 vendor had each of those things. Got a big bunch of dill for $2 which is so much cheaper then the store & lasted a good 2 weeks & probably longer but I decided to dry it. The strawberries were $3 & came in one of those square green containers were very sweet & I was happy to find several big ones in there. The food offerings though is unreal. From Korean, to Thai to Indian, so many options, how do you choose! I went with the mochiko chicken cone which have the perfect chicken rice ratio. Not sure what sauce was on the chicken but it was sure tasty. I also got mandoo from another booth filled with so many other tasty looking Korean goodies. Filling was very tasty & even with eating it hours after purchasing, the wrapper was still crispy. Sauce that came was spicy, but a good spicy. It complimented it well. There were so many other things I wanted to try,but just didnt know when I would have time to eat it all. That just means I'll have to make multiple trips back. If I didnt live so far away, I'd definitely be up there every week. By far, the best farmers market on the island. Love supporting local!

Yelp
When I go traveling, I try to find local farmers markets to try out great local produce and goods the area has to offer. Since we were staying in Kula at an Airbnb near by we decide to check the Upcountry Farmers market since it was highly recommended by our host. Wow she was right to check this one out. There was lots of fresh produce, meats, honey, flowers as well as baked goods to grab. I had bought some fresh fruits and vegetables from the farm stands for reasonable prices. The vendors are also happy to help you pick out fruit if you are not sure how to pick the item you desire. We also got some fresh caught and filet the fisherman who sold them. It was some of the best fish I've had. I also got some poké from Maui Cones which was also very delicious with the fresh ahi tuna and rice. They have lots of fruits here that I normally wouldn't be able to get back home. Such as fresh passion fruit and guava. Also the assortment of flowers sold were more of the tropical blend but my husband got me some roses which smelled light and floral. To get the best stuff before they run out it's recommended to come when the market opens. So early bird gets the worm as word of mouth appears to be true. We showed up about an hour into the opening of the farmers market and all the vendors already ran out of fresh eggs. If I ever come back to Maui, we will definitely head back here again.

Yelp
This is by far Maui's leading farmer's and crafts market. Located in beautiful upcountry Maui, behind the Long's Drugs, this has become a destination market for both local's and visitor's alike. Whether you are looking to stock your kitchen with fresh locally grown produce, or to enjoy a delicious snack from one of the many fine food vendors, find edible or ornamental plants for your garden, fill your home with flowers, or peruse the crafter's fair, this market offers a high quality experience, and surprises around every corner. You can walk in circles around the market and see something new on every pass. Several weeks ago, I saw a woman with her angora bunny, making sweaters out of it's feathers! How about that?! The food booths are too plentiful to mention one by one, but they are all legitimate and delicious. It is very hard to make a decision, so I end up getting several snacks each week, which makes things even more confusing, as everything is so exciting! Last week I had one of the best poke bowls I have ever had, followed up by some shrimp spring rolls, oh and an empanada filled with local beef. And an iced coffee. And a fresh squeezed orange juice. And and and and..... The market runs Saturday mornings roughly between the hours of 6:30-11:00. The parking lot gets packed quickly, but there is also parking on the street, and overflow behind Long's if you don't mind a walk. This is my kind of food. Fresh, local, delicious. Come see for yourselves!

Yelp
This is by far the best farmers market I've ever been to! It's full of all kinds of local produce, healthy items such as wellness shots, sugarcane drinks, cold brew, & fresh açaí bowls. You can also get breakfast pastries (sweet and savory), empanadas, ramen, Korean meals and I'm sure much more than I'm forgetting! There's also handmade items such as lotions, serums, etc. Definitely recommend getting there early and spend some time walking the stalls and getting to know all the friendly farmers. Must do if you're in Maui on a Saturday! After you hit up the farmers market, go check out the Lavender Farms.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this farmers market. It's small and very entitled. There were no locals there. It looks like Newport Beach and Rancho Santa Margarita,California came into upcountry and gentrified it. If you don't know where that is, let me put it into perspective. Newport is where Kobe Bryant lived. Rather go to Sunday Maui Market in Kahului.

Yelp
COCA FARMS... ALL ORGANIC, ALWAYS!! Farmers at this booth (Joel and Marta) still practice traditional, ethical organic farming. It's amazing to see how beautiful and tasty they can make everything they grow. I travel from Lahaina to Upcountry Sat Market to only see 1 vendor ... Coca farms supporter!! All day, everyday!!

Yelp
The most adorable Market with some amazing food options, and awesome homeade crafts. We had flat bread pizza, fish, and crepes. Also bough jewelry and met some fantastic vendors, highly recommend picking up food from here and heading to the beach.

Yelp
Back again. Great little farmers market, lots of neat and fresh local stuff. Truly a farmers market, not much of a place for gifts like the maui swap meet. Highlight was this father and son team who made me a fresh cane juice, ginger, tumeric, pineapple and banana smoothie. OMG this thing was good and I wanted to find it again for more!

Yelp
This farmer's market has a great selection of prepared foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, breads, and juices of all kinds. I mainly buy fresh fruits and prepared foods. I often buy the Mochiko chicken cone! This time I found a vendor that was selling "mochi dumplings in coconut and durian pudding" I guess my fatal mistake was eating this in an enclosed area of a car.

Yelp
Just trust me on this one!! Fun! Bring a good appetite as they have lots of delicious food to choose from. Take home your favorite honey or bouquet of flowers from the lively and festive market. Behind Longs drug store.

Yelp
Best farmers market EVER! We arrived very early thinking we were too early and the farmers were up and at it before sunrise. By 7am the parking lot was packed and going at full steam ahead. This market is truly a local market. Made/grown in Maui from mac nuts, local flowers, local coffee to a Paleo baked goods vendor. I can't wait to go back and chat again with the locals. Truly a unique Maui experience.

Yelp
Since we stay in W Maui, we normally go to the Honokowai Farmer's Market for everything we need. We happen to find out about the Upcountry one from David, our guide at Ocean Vodka and since we were planning on going up to Haleakala that morning anyways, it worked out nicely for us to check this out. It is a lot bigger than I imagined and since it is mainly Maui Farmer's here, you are really supporting local farmers which I love. In addition, they have such a great selection of veggies and produce that I wish I knew about this place towards the beginning of our trip vs. the end. Since we only had 3 more days, we could not buy everything we wanted to and only picked up some ginger, dragonfruit, and a few Jamaican lilikois (the breed, not where it is grown). But it is definitely on my list to come to the first weekend we're here next time.

Yelp
I've been to the Upcountry Farmers Market 4 times over the last 2 years. I've always enjoyed it. But there is one food stall that has truly amazing food and is what pulls me there every Saturday that I'm in Maui. Maui Cones has a number of dishes but the fish dishes in particular are incredible. The Tahitian Poke (also called Poisson Cru) is made of raw white fish in a coconut sauce with rice. Sounds simple but the preparation is so perfect I literally crave it from Sunday to Friday. The only downside is that they don't always serve it if they can't find the perfect fish. I believe it is literally the best dish on Maui. (Sorry, fancy restaurants.) This last Saturday they didn't have it so I had grilled ahi in crumbs over rice, which was excellent. And I also had their poke. The poke was a very generous portion for $8 with coconut sauce and other toppings. I'm a poke fan and I would rate it as the best that I've had in Maui. It's that good. It's easy to find this stand because there's always a line in front of it. Not surprising when the food is that good...I mean great. The couple who run the stand are also incredibly friendly. For a drink, I tried the Maui Verdleaf juice at another stand. I never knew parsley could be that healthy for you or that tasty until I tried it this last Saturday. If you live in Maui I'm envious that you can visit this market every week. And if you're visiting I would put it as a must visit on your itinerary.

Yelp
My favorite day of the week is Saturday, and its all thanks to this farmers market. Just today, I went over there and spent $80 and got soursop, papaya, green onions, cilantro, bok choy, cabbage, daikon radish, carrots. spinach, dino kale, two dozen eggs, arugula, zucchini, cucumber, starfruit, oranges, lemons, jackfruit, and lilikoi... all local, organically-grown, from some of the sweetest most genuine farmers on Maui. I love this place! Thank you all that make it happen so flawlessly week over week. Not even COVID could change the pure awesomeness of it.
