Junior’s and Upright Brewing Will Open a Taproom-Cafe in 2022 - Eater Portland

"Upright Brewing, the award-winning micro-brewery named after the primary instrument of genre-defying musician Charles Mingus, will open a satellite taproom in the Roseway and Cully neighborhoods of Northeast Portland. The taproom will bring Upright’s creative beers to Prescott and the 72nd park blocks, sharing a space with top Portland coffee roaster Junior’s. The tasting room, taking over a former gas station and long-vacant building, is set to open early next year." - Levi Rogers

Might be the best burger in town. Pasta salad was tasty but had veggies in it. I’ll try it again. Try it out !!!!

Funky repurposed gas station into a brewery outpost. Friendly service and indoor and outdoor door seating. No food, small tap list with a nice variety of beer styles . Grand saison beer was pretty good and same with the cream ale. Street parking, not the best neighborhood but fine during daylight hours.

After much anticipation, Upright Brewing has opened their NE taproom. A great selection of quality beer for reasonable prices. This will surely become a neighborhood hotspot especially as the weather warms up and people can take advantage of the outdoor seating.

Great little spot to have some really nice, interesting beers. The food trucks have great food, really looking forward to spending some summer nights out in their sitting area. Would be great if there were more food trucks, maybe eventually 🤞

Went to the new beer station thinking because it just opened it would be quiet… oh boy was I wrong! In a neighborhood needing a place like this the support the night we went was awesome! An old gas station remodeled into a coffee shop (@juniors) and tap room serving up sone of PDX’s best brews! A sandwich food cart is opening soon as well as more outside seating. (2nd photo of watching a video shot earlier that day)

My favorite place in Portland to stop and grab a beer (and often fries from Smunch outside)

People don't talk about Upright half as much as they should - the beer here is FENOMENAL. Easily one of the best breweries there is. Beer is ultra balanced, it's mind-blowing. Go here ASAP & tell all your friends. Bonus points for being a remodeled gas station. Would give 6 stars if I could.

It's a small venue but their beer options were good. I didn't try the food carts outside, but they looked good.

Yelp
This Beer Station is Upright Brewing's newer second location converted from and old gas station. In the mornings & early afternoon a coffee shop operates out of this same location. They have a big patio out front with picnic tables, and one section is covered & has overhead heat lamps. There's not as much seating inside, and if you come while the coffee shop side is still open you'll have to compete for seats with the lingering coffee crowd still lounging around, which I found a bit annoying since several of the coffee patrons were no longer drinking coffee or eating anything, just taking up space reading whole it was pouring rain outside and the taproom patrons were trying to find a place to sit, drink & eat some grub from the food truck. Oh well, if it hasn't been raining it wouldn't have been an issue. (the place filled up quick shortly after I took the photos) The lady running the taps was super nice and myself, the Hubs and our friend enjoyed a couple beers. They had 11 beers on tap. There's a food cart, Chaat Wallah, located along their patio, so we had lunch as well (I'll be reviewing the food cart soon).

Yelp
Don't tear buildings down, re-use them. That's what's happening here, once a gas station/mechanic now a place where people can refuel with coffee and beer. Upright has a long reputation as a quality brewer, and that shows in what's on tap here. Service is friendly enough. One wall is glass garage doors, so plenty of light. 3 food trucks right thre for the food. Pleasant enough

Yelp
We had a terrible experience here. My friend made a casual joke about not having his wallet (he did) the angry bitchy server insisted that he produce an Id. He did. That wasn't good enough. She said she didn't need to put up with rude behavior. We felt the same and left. Had a great experience at the Sandy Jug and vowed to never go back to upright again!

Yelp
Great beer. Friendly staff. Mellow vibe. Great neighborhood spot, open during the hot days of summer and the snowy days of winter.
