Upshift Brewing is an excellent brewery for families with children, offering a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Despite being located in a hands-off industrial area, their outdoor patio area is spacious and well-equipped with heaters for chilly evenings. They serve a wide selection of beers brewed on-site, including seasonal and experimental brews, and the bartenders provide fantastic customer service. Food trucks are available outside for those looking to grab a bite to eat, and although parking can be a bit of a challenge due to limited options, it's worth the effort. Overall, Upshift Brewing is highly recommended for families looking for a casual and family-friendly brewery experience with great beer

Awesome brewery tucked into a nice and quiet location. Super dog friendly! Great beers and the people are all down to earth. Food truck on site. We will definitely be back.

Google
Upshift Brewing Company is a decent little craft brewery. We stopped in for a flight to try their beers and I have to say I was pleased. Their Usual Suspects hazy IPA is tasty, has great flavor and is everything you want in a hazy IPA. Additionally Upshift Brewing’s Kolschwagon is very nice and light. You could sip on the Kolsch all day. The beer garden is good and they have rotating onsite food vendors. Tip: check out their calendar for what eats will be on site. They are also pet friendly so grab your pup, cat or whatever animal baby you have and support your local brewery.

Awesome place for locally brewed beers! Place has plenty of seating both inside and out. Outside has propane heaters in chilly temps. Beer is very good, esp like the new Red. Outdoor picnic tables remind me of a German beer garden. No food unless food truck is there. Limited hours. Plenty of nearby food options.

Google
Small parking lot inside. There’s street parking free and across the street you can park near the CVS. I had a beer called fuzzy punch. It definitely tasted like a hard booch which I requested. There was a dude name Joey super cool guy. I love the inside vibe. I would come back here again.

I really enjoyed this place. They have a great beer selection. Service was great. Patio had heaters and lots of tables. I would definitely recommend this place.

I stopped at this little brewery in El Segundo because traffic was so bad… I wanted to waste some time. I had 2 beers, both exceptional. 1st the Motorrad, German Lager. Great color, body and such a crisp, smooth flavor! This is their west coast IPA. Strong fruity smell and a super smooth taste. This little spot is making good beer! And I didn’t leave my wallet…

Small but fun brewery in El Segundo. The beers are very good and creative. The pop food is excellent.

The brewery's dedication to experimentation and quality shines through in each pint, making it a haven for craft beer enthusiasts eager to explore new flavors and styles. Adding to the allure is Upshift's in-house bottling operation, which allows guests to take home their favorite brews in convenient bottles. This thoughtful touch adds an extra layer of convenience and enjoyment to the brewery experience, ensuring that the beer you love is never far from reach. But perhaps the most striking aspect of Upshift Brewing Company is its unique design. Yelp
First off, thank you Yelp for this experience. I love trying new breweries and of course new businesses. I had the chance to try Upshift today and it is very different from other breweries I've been to. I like the ambiance and it's not overwhelming. The service was great and they told us the best option they had for a sweet ale. I tried the watermelon ale and it was perfect.! There was no food vendors today because of the rain, but we did buy some snack nuts, and popcorn that they sell behind the register. Fortunately, you can bring your own food from home or order food to deliver there if you want. I noticed they have games inside for customers to play. I saw Jenga and connect four games that people were playing. I like that idea of making customers feel at home and at ease, to have fun and chill. I noticed it was very packed today and very kid friendly, which is a plus for those who have children. It is pretty small inside, but they have outdoor seating with many tables. I'm sure with perfect weather it will be a vibe. However, the parking is not bad either you can park right next to the brewery or pretty close to walking distance from around the area for street parking. I will come back again to try more beers, and invite my friends to lounge and play games! Thank you Yelp and Upshift!

Yelp
This place is tucked away behind a complex in El Segundo (it's not in Downtown El Segundo). I think the theme is suppose to related to automotives because of the car-related drinks and decorations. They don't have QR codes to scan the menu and order food. You have to go up to bar and they have a couple of food stands there. The bar area where you order is VERY ANNOYING when it is crowded. The tables are too close to the bar and people don't move to get out of the way after they order/people were also just at their tables so crowd control isn't great..you can sit outside where it's less loud and less people and they have heat lamps. The bartender was super friendly and the thing they use for their flights is pretty cool (not pictured here). The beers were ok. The malt in the red ale was noticeable and I didn't mind it. The tropical mirage was way too sour.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try some different breweries around the South Bay and Upshift Brewing was one of the spots. Fun auto-themed vibe. The patio is spacious, tasting room clean, well-lit and nicely laid out. I tried an IPA (can't remember which one) but it was good. Not amazing, but good. My brewery-visiting companions thought the beer was "just okay." One had a collab which I did not care for, the other, a hazy that was average. The staff was friendly and I liked the vibe of the place as well, so I'll try Upshift again and update my review accordingly. 4 stars.

Amy J.

Yelp
This place doesn't look like much on the outside but once you walk in, you'll see that they have made good use of the space! I love the theme of this brewery and their beers are good. They have a few snacks for sale and usually there's a food truck available. Bathrooms are clean and there's space to sit inside and outside. Kid and dog friendly. Service was friendly. Customers were all friendly.

Nivia L.

Yelp
Saturday afternoon on a sunny breezy day is a perfect time to stop and get a cold one or ones . That's exactly what I did by going to try Upshift brewery will I was in town . They had good options from lagers , saisons or kiosk-ales but I was there for a Hazy IPA . Ordered a usual suspects HAZY IPA and it was smooth , milkshake creamy and just mouth watering good . They have different food trucks it looked like weekly and although we did not indulge there was food options which is a plus . Next time you're in the neighborhood give it a try !

Marlene V.

Yelp
Loved the taste of the beer. I came here on a Monday and there was a trivia night. E we had a good time and the people were friendly competitive. The bartenders were also nice and offered samples to drink. It's a small place and the ambiance is what is expected for a brewery. The only disappointment was that there wasn't any food or food trucks. There should at least have finger food or a food truck so Oriole can stay longer or have their meal and their beer. Overall, it was a fun place.

Kisha L.

Yelp
I attended this brewing company due to a "Yelp" event. The place is very small inside for seating but plenty of seating outside. They have great customer service , however, they have no food, you can't purchase food , they only have a few snacks for purchase. You can bring your own food though from home or order from a pizza place that's across the street that delivers. Parking is on the street which is adjacent to brewery. The place is very cute inside and has cute little memorabilia all around the walls. They had all kinds of beer but not a variety of sweet beers or any ciders.

Richard R.

Yelp
Upshift combines two of my favorite things, beers and car racing! There's an awesome ambiance, especially for viewing Formula 1! Our beertender Steven was super friendly and wisely guided us through the different beers on the menu.

ßenjämin Ä.

Yelp
If your a car guy this is your place! The atmosphere is very car centric down to the names of the beers. Big plus is the fact they show F1 races! Random Food vendors so the menu changes. It your a car guy you won't be disappointed

Lori F.

Yelp
Small brewery. Nothing was on tap--only poured from cans. They didn't even have an IPA available. Heard that the brewer left in December and it's now March. Gotta wonder if this place will be here much longer.

N. Danny S.

Yelp
Cool spot to watch F1, I was there for a 10pm showing one night that lasted past midnight, it was pretty fun. Good selection of beers, mostly everything is automotive themed. They have food trucks sometimes. Lots of outdoor seating. Street parking can get crowded on race days. Otherwise, cool place, I'll be here again!

Brandon S.

Yelp
Great new spot! The beers are solid! Tried half the board but my favorite is the English style pale ESB on Nitro The layout is well thought out with a small tasting room that is decorated with automotive decor (of course) and a spacious patio with picnic tables and umbrellas for shade. There is street parking only. The lot next to the brewery seems to be reserved for this mini wework type installation. We had no trouble finding a spot though. Great brewery, and I know they are going to come out with even more amazing beers

Melissa C.

Yelp
Solid evening at Upshift Brewing! Easy-going and helpful staff, great beers, and another plus: it's dog-friendly! They have plenty of heaters out on the patio and looks like they usually have a local food vendor of some sort as well. Also super accessible, they have ramps and a wheelchair lift available for any guests with a handicap.

Izzy P.

Yelp
Got flight of the month, great vibe, and three minute walk from the hotel. The food tent here smells amazing so I'm going to anticipate it's going to pair well. The red is smooth. if you like IPAs the double is nice. The Dale is light on flavor but at 11% makes up for it. Hidden gem? Not sure but this will be my go to spot whenever I swing through Los Angeles. Cheers!

Abigail V.

Yelp
Upshift is the perfect spot for a group event! there is ample seating and the vibe is awesome. The staff is so friendly and helpful and there are drinks on the menu that suit everyone. Would definitely suggest for happy hour!

David W.

Yelp
Cool location in a discrete back alley with a local food truck. Owners are gear heads and have some clever names and outstanding beers on tap and cans. Sit outside at the picnic tables or inside near the tanks where the action happens.

Danny S.

Yelp
The beer is excellent and always many choices . Food is limited to food trucks but there is a shopping center close to bring food. The place itself is cool , open and spacious with its outside patio.

Lisa D.

Yelp
Love my local brewery! Great selection, especially with darker beers. Very nice staff and always great weather outside on the patio or on the picnic benches. I also really appreciate the variety of food trucks they bring in.

Lee L.

Yelp
Solid spot. We've come here a few times over the years and it never disappoints. The service is friendly, the beers a good, the space is wonderful, and there is usually a food truck. I would say they have a fairly extensive beer menu, which could be slightly overwhelming, but also means there's something for everyone. Beers are tasty overall - they have everything from lighter ales to IPAs and everything in between. The outdoor space is great - tons of space - we've never had trouble getting a table. Plus they have always had a food truck each time we've been there. Since there are several breweries in the El Segundo area, definitely add this one to the rotation.

Christina K.

Yelp
Small parking lot but lots of street parking. Love their automotive inspired brewery theme that they have going on. They named their beers thats they serve after automotive themes. Come here during a night out or after work for good beer and good company.

Greg S.

Yelp
Great spot! The vibe is fun and auto inspired. Came for the first time and was helped out by Bridget behind the bar. She explained the different beers to me and the tasting profiles. She offered 2 tasters which was great because I was undecided. I ended up getting the "no way in Helles" because it's my favorite style (they killed it with this one: light hop aroma, nice grain profile, soft on the palette and a crisp finish). However, I'm still dreaming. About the "Road to Oatman" Oatmeal Pale Ale. Guess I'll be coming back!

michael b.

Yelp
Loved. Brews of course refreshing & on point. Atmosphere can't be matched. Inviting, open, welcoming, & always a local food truck. Already excited to visit again.

Anna G.

Yelp
Very nice theming and theme decor, detailed to the bathroom thrash cans. Among the four of us, we tried everything on tap in tasters, and everything was drinkable, although not always true to style (sourish kölsch, anyone?) The most unique taste was an oatmeal pale. Loved the taster flight tray design.

Raúl R.

Yelp
This place is a good spot to have a few drinks. Beer was tasty and the service was great. I would come again. They have inside and outside sitting. Since it was a bit warm I stayed inside. Follow @raulvsfood on Instagram

Yelp
Upshift, I like it! My buddy lives in El Segundo and said that he liked their kolsch; he's a big fan of lagers. Due to the COVID restrictions-you had to make a food order at the truck to sit and have a beer. The system worked and it was nice to be able to sit somewhere, sipping a beer and have food brought out to you. I followed my buddy's lead and started off with the kolsch and I was pretty surprised at it. Clean, crisp, it hit all the right notes of a kolsch, which is harder to do than it was to drink. I decided to try their DIPA, and again was pleasantly surprised. Great maltiness and the hop flavors were slightly sweet. 8.5% but it was so smooth that it went down quick. I decided that I didn't want to fall into that trap so I went with their ESB, which was ok; compared to the other two I had it lacked the notes of an ESB, not as much caramel or fruity notes.

Justin N.

Yelp
Upshift Brewing Company is hands down my favorite brewery in Los Angeles. When you visit you are welcomed to a very creative tap room and the friendliest staff you will ever meet. The selection of beer on tap is unmatched giving you a perfect range of options from creative IPA's to unique ales you won't find anywhere else. Pre- Covid, when I visited with my wife, we would discover new beers on tap or newly added features to the space. They also had a killer food truck schedule featuring some delicious cuisines. During Covid, Their team have been nothing but complaint with all the regulations/rules needed to be followed. I felt very safe and comfortable picking ups during these times. Even during the short period of them being open for sit down service, they went above and beyond to make the experience safe for everyone. Upshift will always be our go-to spot to meet up with friends and grab a beer. Go check them out!

Karla A.

Yelp
Love the customer service, great beer, and environment. They had great music, played various games and good food service.

Vv G.

Yelp
Cool place, fair experience to chill. Would like to have table service. Pizza was the BEST!!!

Benny B.

Yelp
I visit a lot of breweries in the L.A area. This one is one of my personal favorites. The layout, the vibe, the beers, and my favorite part is they host F1! It's really the only establishment I've ever heard of that hosts F1 races. I love coming here on my Sunday's to refresh, recharge, and get myself ready for the next work week.

John L.

Yelp
Boring. Just not memorable. Good if you're desperate, but nothing special to bring your friends. El Segundo is a better spot.

S K.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! Great atmosphere and beer! It's nice and spacious with ample outdoor seating. You can always count on there being great food trucks. Also ample easy street parking. Checks off everything on my list.

Tom G.

Yelp
The brewery has a great vibe and the decor is awesome. We sampled the following: Kolschwagen Kolsch (very good) Off Camber Amber (good) Big Block Brown (very good) Pole Position Pale (very good) Pit Stop Porter (great) G.T. Oatmeal Stout (very good)

Leah J.

Yelp
Best kept secret of El Segundo. Wish I could come here more often! Love the hazy ipa but unfortunately they just poured the last one.

Patrick G.

Yelp
Upshift is a fantastic small brewery in El Segundo. We had Bench Seat Blonde and Wind Wing IPA. Both were terrific. Great patio, cool, car-obsessed interior, great hosts, good music and happy feelings. The whole concept for the place was hatched when the two owners were riding dirt bikes in the desert and one of them brought along his home brew. It turned out to be too good not to go pro, and the passion shows through in this shiny, authentic, all-American spot. Cheers, guys!

Karen S.

Yelp
What an incredible find! It is Located a little off from a major street which might be the only reason this place hasn't been mobbed by crowds yet. Not only is the space large, clean and comfortable - the beer is delicious. They have many options and offer some cool flights - the tray comes with a bike handle (awesome!). The staff was the best part of this whole experience, friendly and attentive felt like hanging with old friends. They also have plenty of outside tables, rotating food trucks and pup friendly!!

Amy R.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere!!!! Would come back here with friends anytime. All the staff and services are top notch! Make me feel comfortable enough to bring my pup because it's dog friendly!

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Amazing Beers! The flight is a must have. Perfect place to enjoy a cold one. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Got to meet the owner... he is very down to earth and pleasant company. I will be coming back ... very soon!

Edna T.

Yelp
First time trying this place! We tried the flight, great beer, clean place, friendly staff, very nice patio set up.

Daisy M.

Yelp
Here goes to my first review... Been wanting to check this place out for awhile, and I finally got the chance. Yay!! The have all types of beers. The bf and I got two flights, so we could get a full try of most of the options they have. Their flights are 6 pours of 8oz(?). In total we tried 12 beers, and we still haven't tried them all. I'm ready to go back and to try their rocky road stout (?), I may have forgotten what type of beer it is. Anyway... they had a good stand, and it smelled delicious. (Would have tried it, if we weren't too full from brunch.) let me also mention the attention to detail when decorating the place. Even to the employees uniform. You just gotta go, to see it for yourself. Also, myself being a HUGE Shrek fan... look out for Shrek's outhouse. Extra bonus points for being so close to home and work!

Michael K.

Yelp
The place is nice. However, no heat and doors are wide open. Temperature outside was 50 degress and inside the same. Reminded me of of winter. Not comfortable.

Lawrence C.

Yelp
Upshift is one of my favorite breweries. The beer is excellent, the service is excellent and the staff is both super friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. The brewery is easy to find but just out of the way enough that the very casual setting is peaceful and relaxing. There is typically ample street parking right out in front. of the brewery.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Gearhead dream brewery! No pix cause I'm strictly unwinding... but peep the ones others posted here. Simple and clean aesthetic; combined with themed-name beers. Pole Position. PRNDL (I died!) Off camber. Track sesh; had me nostalgic over my Laguna Seca experiences. Friendliest brewery staff in the South Bay for sure; they really tend to the customers. Mind the hours; as they're not an everyday operation (yet)

Veronica H.

Yelp
Great local brewery! Nice staff and they had a food truck when we went! They also offer flights to try a variety of their beer.

Dennise R.

Yelp
Cool brewery with a huge outside and a variety of beers, not just IPAs. I specially enjoyed the Kölschwagen, Big Block Brown and the double IPA. Since the theme is car garage the door to go inside to place your order also makes you feel like you are still outside. We went on a Wednesday there was plenty of street parking available and the Bomba food truck making some amazing dishes.

Tom H.

Yelp
Upshift is the latest addition to the SB Beer Scene with a nice new place located a block away from Sepulveda. The tap room is small & cozy with a racing theme that makes you fill like you're traveling down Route 66. There's also a small patio as well out back with room for a few tables. The staff there are all pretty cool and helpful. In terms of the beer, I thought they were mostly decent, especially for a new start-up working out the kinks. Overall a great addition to the area!

Kimberly E.

Yelp
Loved this place my friend took me here tonight and the guys were so nice and treated us so Nice tonight , I will definetely recommend this place for sure and I will be Back

Cat L.

Yelp
The space is awesome! The staff super friendly and on top of things. But the beers were not to my liking. My husband and I both ordered a flight so we could taste every beer on the menu. Out of ten beers we thought two were good. That is just our personal opinion. We are huge west coast style IPA drinkers. They didn't have any with a strong hop presence.

Colt H.

Yelp
Food, staff and ambiance - all amazing. What a great find! Wide open outside for a safe eating and drinking experience. And they have (which is most important at a brewery) great beer! I suggest the double clutch IPA. Wife loved the rocky road stout.
